Very kind host (Svein) + a sauna and fireplace

Sehr schöne Zimmer..Alles da.. Selbstversorger. Hätten sogar waschen können. Griller, Pizzaofen. Sauna. Gemeinschaftsbad (Einzelduschen) u. WC sind getrennt. Stryn ist ein kleinerer Ort. Bäckereien sperren erst um 9 oder 10 Uhr auf.. es hätte ein Lokal in unmittelbarer Nähe gegeben, wo man hätte frühstücken können. Haben uns dann aber nur Kaffee und eine Zimtschecke geholt.

"Apartamenty" mają wejście bezpośrednio z ulicy.

Dans l’esprit d’une auberge de jeunesse, les chambres ne sont pas bien grandes et très simples, mais les espaces communs sont propres et agréables, patio, sauna, hot spot, rendent le séjour agréable. Douches et sanitaires propres, petit déjeuner très correct.

Un peu cher par rapport à des logements similaires. Mais c’est la Norvège…

This is a wonderful place in an amazing location run by a lovely family with everything you could wish for. Excellent value for money. The facilities are top quality. The shared bathrooms are not a problem and beautifully appointed.

I liked the location in Stryn proper, abundant parking, sauna and hot tub, beautiful communal areas, clean shared facilities, and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Красивая территория, находится недалеко от автобусной станции, ресторанов, магазинов. На территории есть сауна, купель, зоны барбекю, небольшая терраса высоко на дереве, правда там было пыльно. Хороший завтрак входил в стоимость апартаментов. Апартаменты находились в отдельном одноэтажном здании с отдельным входом. Апартаменты оборудованы всем необходимым. В ванной пол подогревается, если поставить сушку для одежды в ванную, то сохнет быстро.

Неудобная конструкция душа и ванной комнаты, вода из душа льется прямо на унитаз, пол вокруг в воде. Дополнительная кровать для ребенка стояла в коридоре на проходе, это было неудобно. В небольшой комнате достаточно прохладно летом. Одним вечером во дворе разожгли огонь и дым от костра через вытяжку заходил в апартаменты, дышать было просто нечем, ужасно воняло гарью. Администратор ответил быстро и порекомендовал просто открыть дверь и ждать когда проветрится, это было уже после 23.00, спать было невозможно. За эту историю с гарью снимаю 2 балла.

Superb common area with great atmosphere, very kind and helpful host.

Rooms are really small, however we still loved the place.

I wouldn't say I didnt like it, but I felt although breakfast was included it wasnt great. No warm options.

Room is way too small though clean. Although no shoes are stated, everyone wears their shoes in.

Litt mer spennende frokost, råvarer. Bar vel litt preg av billigst mulig. Tørt brød som måtte ristes om man skulle får det ned... Utvanna juice. Lite som skal til for at dette ble litt bedre.

Everything was beautiful. Staff was exceptional, shared facilities were SO cozy and we loved everything about it. Location is superb and the rental kayaks were in an absolutely gorgeous lake which we would really recommend. Both the inside and outside kitchens were well-equipped.

Rooms are very small and extremely close together with paper thin walls, so not too much privacy. And even the cheapest rooms are not on the cheaper side, considering you share all facilities with other people except your bed. Breakfast is fine, but nothing special.

Very nice and cozy place!! We absolutely loved the interior and the nice barn . You can really feel that the lodge is loved and cared for

Estuvimos en uno de los Apartamentos y era amplio y cómodo. Rasmus y su mujer regentan el lugar con una amabilidad exquisita. Sus ganas de ayudar y aconsejar sobre la zona son verdaderamente útiles.

El desayuno fue justito, y se hacían colas porque el espacio donde estaban las cosas era un poco reducido.

A szolgáltstás nagyszerüek voltak. szauna, dézsa és elektromos autó töltési lehetőség volt.

Nem tudok ilyet mondani. A leirtek szerint minden rendben volt.

le lodge est bien équipé: le sablon est grand et agréable, la cours est sympas avec le barbécu et le four, en plus il y a le sauna et le bain chaud.

Tynn madrass

The owners were clearly incredibly thoughtful in constructing the rooms in the "barn." Dimmable lights, a skylight which opened and which had a retractable shade, cute pillow on the bed to make it homey... the common room & kitchen were beautiful, the sauna was EXCELLENT with a cold outdoor shower next to it, and there was a treehouse!? Wonderful facility. Other guests seemed mostly to be quiet travelers, other than a large group of (fairly loud) men on Saturday night who I speculate were heading on an organized expedition in the morning. Breakfast was great. Nothing too heavy (nothing hot except toast) but a lot of nutritious options, including the classic Brunost and small tinned fish which was fun to try. coffee & tea as well as milk/juice were available. I booked a Standard Double room. Would have been cramped with 2 people and their stuff, but the pictures were accurate, so no surprises there, and it was great for one person (see pictures) Regarding shared bathrooms: I appreciated that there were two stalls upstairs near the bedrooms as well as the 4 stalls downstairs by the bar/breakfast/outdoor facilities. Comfortable, clean showers including soap, conditioner & shampoo.

My ONLY ask is for hooks to be added to the downstairs toilet rooms, and perhaps for there to be a lower shelf in the bedrooms- there were two nice shelves but they seemed too high for me (5'8") to use. And just a warning- on Saturday night, music played from the speaker outside my room a little late- not crazy loud, but probably until roughly the 11pm quiet-hour cut-off time. Things were quiet thereafter.

Spennende bygg fra 1903. Her er det mye historie i veggene. Utrolig trivelig personale. Knallbra service. Anbefaler absolutt ett besøk her. Vi kommer tilbake.

Wished the room had a private bathroom.

Lodgen Stryn has a cool atmosphere and corresponding decor. Very nice outdoor area with seating and sauna/hot tub. Nice shared kitchen and enough spaces to share for eating and relaxing. Great that we could do laundry, super practical in between hiking days!

Breakfast was disappointing, could be improved. The bedroom could benefit a mirror and more hooks to hang jackets etc.

Small rooms

Sehr gemütliches Hostel. Grillmöglichkeit und Lagerfeuer im Garten. Gutes Fruhstück.

Very cosy place and good sized rooms. A good place to stay if you're doing day-trips to other places close by.

Floor and bathroom had unfortunately not been cleaned properly, but nothing too bad that we couldn't clean ourselves.

Charming place in Stryn. The hotel consists in two buildings, both historicaly old, with additional modern new spaces aside, one which used to be an inn, and one which used to be the barn for horses. Both are exquisitly reinvented, the inn preserving the old nordic furbishing style, and the animal barn reinvented as a bar/reception, breakfast restaurant, in a totally original and stylish way. Pictures on the site don't do justice to the place, reality is even better. The new added spaces (attic rooms, kitchen, living area) are top expression of the new nordic style. Available also a lot of facilities, like sauna, jacuzzi, fireplace, outdoor restaurant, barbecue facilities, even tree house. Quality breakfast. Loved the stay ❤️

Attic room (triple room we had) is small, but is ingeniously divided and composed, in such a manner that you won't feel like crowded (suspended bed for the child, spaces with double functions). Also bathroom available just a door away, and so is the kitchen too, or the living space, so the feeling is like being accomodated in an big apartament, not in a room with no bathroom. Location is a bit strange, since is right in the middle of the town, sorrounded by the new architecture of a normal nordic town, but just 3 minutes away there is an wonderful crystal river that sets you back to nature feeling, don't miss it out. So really, everything is positive, not negative...❤️❤️❤️

Relaxed and welcoming

The location is very good and convenient for exploring Stryn, Loen and the surrounding area. The staff were friendly, and check-in in the “barn” was easy and worked well. We knew before booking that Lodgen is a lodge/base camp concept and that the toilets and showers are shared, so this was exactly as described. We stayed on the second floor, where there was a warm shared toilet, with more toilets and showers downstairs. Each person had a pillow, duvet and towel, and the accommodation was clean. For one night, all the basic things we needed were there.

For the price, the level of comfort felt very basic. The beds creaked loudly every time someone moved or turned around. The house has been converted into accommodation and the sound insulation is poor. Especially around the connecting doors, we could clearly hear people talking in the neighbouring rooms, so there was not much privacy. Breakfast was disappointing. There were only two kinds of cheese and two kinds of cold cuts. Guests had to cut the cheese themselves with a shared knife, which I personally did not find very hygienic. We also saw chipped or damaged dishes mixed together with the normal dishes. Guests are asked to remove their shoes before going upstairs, which I actually think is a good rule. Unfortunately, some guests ignored it and walked upstairs in outdoor shoes after the rain while other people were walking there in socks. We understand that this is a base camp and not a traditional hotel, and the shared facilities were clearly described before booking. Still, for the price, we expected a little more comfort. For us, most of the price seemed to come from the excellent location rather than the facilities themselves.

Przyjemnie i z pomysłem zagospodarowany obiekt. Z barem i wszelkimi udogodnieniami na miejscu. W centrum miasta, w pobliżu sklepów, restauracji.

Quirky accommodation with lots of interesting addition to the building. Good central town location.

Breakfast was pretty basic. Narrow steep staircases to the room , not suitable for elderly person.

Nous étions dans la partie ancienne du Lodge, aucune isolation thermique ni phonique….. et très peu de contact avec nos hôtes. Chambre un peu poussiéreuse et très surchargée de divers objets décoratifs….

Koselig sted, vi var her med barn på 2 år som elsket uteområdet. Enkel frokost med det du trenger. Vi hadde leilighet med stort bad og velutstyrt kjøkken. Elbillader var et pluss.

Hot tub and sauna

Smell is nauseating. The first room had rotten fish smell and it was the only room available. They showed it to us only after full prepayment for the whole stay, and we were too tired to go back and complain, so just opened all windows and hoped for the best. Also we booked a room with a large double bed, they gave it to someone else and told us to "enjoy the extra space" which was a bunk bed + extra twin bed -- not sure how we should have enjoyed it when it was two of us. Rude. In the morning they moved us to a room that smelled like toilet, and also we heard everything every time someone went to the shared bathroom. Communal kitchen and sitting area smelled like rotten trash. We've been to some nasty parts of India before, but have never experienced anything even remotely close to this one. Oh, and they had a breakfast included, please see the photo attached.

Kamer was niet groot (we hadden een basic driepersoonskamer), maar de bedden waren comfortabel. Veel faciliteiten: hot tub, sauna, vuurkorf, buitenkeuken met zitgedeelte, binnenkeuken met zitgedeelte, bar. Sanitair proper en modern. Ontbijt was goed.

Mysigt hus, rum och utemiljön var jättefin.

The breakfast had plenty of choice on the buffet. The lodge is well placed in the centre with easy access.

Śniadanie bardzo dobre i zróżnicowane. Miły personel. Przyjemny ogród. Dobra lokalizacja.

Cały hotel bardzo ale to bardzo glośny. W pokoju na 3 pietrze było słychać co się dzieje na niższych piętrach. W pokoju słychać wszystko z pokoju obok. Każde słowo czy też szurnięcie krzesłem. Na 3 piętro wiodą strome schody. Nie ma windy dla osób starszych czy z dużym bagażem to problem. Okna z trudnością można otworzyć.

Nice vibe, loved the cozy garden. Our room was in the old building - simple but very comfy. Nice shared kitchen and clean, modern shower facilities. Breakfast was served in the old barn and a yummy start to the day!

La cama no era muy cómoda y tenía el espacio limitado y la almohada era demasiado fina.

Måtte ut på gangen på toalettet.Hadde ikke eget toalett.

la "stanza" è in realtà una specie di cabina con due letti e pochissimo spaziilbturto era pulito, ma sul minuscolo comodino tra i due letti abbiamo trovato uno scovolino per pulizia denti ... nel bagno al piano non c'è nemmeno un gancio per l'asciugamano, e per fare la doccia bisogna scendere al piano terra in teoria c'è la tinozza con idromassaggio, ma era chiusa molto carino il posto per fare colazione, peccato per la trave di legno contro cui è facile sbattere la testa, così facile che la protezione messa è rotta a furia di prenderci contro e non svolge più la sua funzione il prezzo pagato troppo alto, e diverso da quello visto nel form di prenotazione

The lodge has a lot of charm and I loved my room . The outdoor space was well thought out and I liked that there is a kitchen available to the guests . The breakfast was fresh and copious . The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend it .
