è una struttura sporca, immersa nel nulla in un quartiere residenziale (infatti è una casa privata adibita ad hostel, non c’era nemmeno il letto fatto, sapone nei bagni, nemmeno un asciugamano (la cucina piena di cibo andato a male). Se dormivo in aereoporto era meglio, mai più!

旅館配合的Tour比Klook便宜不少。 女生宿舍有空間可以打開行李箱。 離去Nizwa巴士站不遠。

廁所浴室沒有乾濕分離，廁所常常沒有衛生紙，而且常常要排隊，有人洗澡整個濕答答，雖然規定要脫鞋穿室內鞋，室內鞋是前人留下來的拋棄式拖鞋（超噁），請務必帶自己的拖鞋，我看其他人穿著踩過室外的拖鞋也踩進室內地毯浴室，大家踩來踩去的地板其實超髒，千萬不要穿著襪子幫別人擦地板。 廚房黏黏的，沒有認真在維護。 女生宿舍也不知道有沒有在清理前一位留下來的東西，浴室會看到一些瓶瓶罐罐，櫃子也有一些物品，掛衣服的地方，掛滿浴巾比基尼厚外套都沒有異動。

I loved how homely I felt at the stay. It looked exactly like a warm house with bedroom, living area, kitchen, outdoor seating space to chill at night. Plants around the house making it a good atmosphere.

Приятное место, очень доброжелательные зозяева, удобные кровати, есть кухня со всем необходимым.

The staff were friendly when available and the hostel has a good atmosphere.

However, I felt something bite me soon after getting into bed and found a bed bug. I killed it (it was full of blood), before notifying staff and moving to a different hotel. Even if this was an isolated incident, I recommend future guests inspect bedding and keep luggage off the bed as a precaution. Overall, the hostel is welcoming and well-located, but I wanted to share this so others can take simple precautions.

Location is amazing (very calm but close to food/bus terminal/airport/grand mosque) and the room is very comfortable. WiFi is perfect. Thanks to Antonia for being very helpful and friendly

The toilet flush in female dorm was broken when I was staying. If it is fixed, it is just 10/10 score!

地理位置可以的周围3分钟有餐厅，打车1.5以内到机场海边，但是离老街和corniche 很远，，如果你飞机晚上可以加2块钱延迟退房，所有费用必须现金，一夜大概6omar在阿曼hostel不算贵，也不算便宜，这个位置这个价格还是不错的，但是卫生一般，床品不是棉的睡的不舒服，

如果只能现金，需要标注， 床单最好是棉的 卫生间马桶水流太小了，需要3-4次才可以

Basil ist ein sehr sympathischer und authentischer Gastgeber. Auch sein Bruder ist sehr freundlich und man lernt leicht locals kennen, da seine Freunde ihn oft im Hostel besuchen. Wer Oman mittendrin erleben möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Ausserdem gibt es viele verschiedene Aktivitäten und Touren, du von Basil persönlich oder von seinen Freunden durchgeführt werden.

Вайфай ловит только в общей зоне. Когда кто-то готовит на кухне пахнущую еду, ужасно воняет по всем общим зонам. Постельное белье порванное, я понимаю что это хостел, но оно прям совсем плохо

This was already the second time I stayed there. Seems like they did quite a lot of cleaning/tidying up as it was much cleaner this time :) I enjoy how people hang out together and chat here all the time. You never feel alone and can always find a friend to chat with.

Keep up the regular cleaning then there is hardly anything to complain about :)

Great place with an amazing atmosphere, super kind staff, friendly people (and cat), clean and fresh sheets, cozy rooms, clean bathroom and kitchen (huge kitchen with everything you need +free food that everyone can share), great location (near vege restaurants and place with milkshakes and shops and atm) - the best hostel in not only Oman but also the whole Middle East - thank you for your hospitality- I’ll come back for sure:)

A comfortable and welcoming stay at Basil’s Hostel, run by brothers Basil and Ziyad. They are kind, patient, and helpful, creating a warm, respectful, and friendly vibe — like staying with friends. Great for travelers who enjoy cooking, socializing, music, or quiet time. Rooms are clean with good airflow and comfortable mattresses. Kitchen and common areas are cozy and clean. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. On my first night, I joined their dinner during Ramadan — it was a special and traditional experience. Sometimes they play traditional music at night, which is interesting and adds a nice cultural touch. Location is convenient — about 10 minutes’ drive from the airport, 2–3 km from the famous mosque, 1 km to a big supermarket and ATM, money exchange , and a small grocery store just 2 minutes’ walk.

Small improvements: the bathroom floor could be kept drier, the upstairs shower holder needs fixing, and the water pressure could be better.

The hostel is 10-15 minutes by car from the airport, and 15-20 minutes walking to Azaiba bus station where you can take a bus to Nizwa. It's a good place for socializing too.

Good location easy to get around by Otaxi/yango ride share app. Very sociable environment, staff pleasant and helpful. Cafes, restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

I really enjoyed staying at the hostel! All the people there are incredibly friendly. You can tell that they all come here to have a good time, connect with people and find travel companions. The hosts are easy going and give tips when needed. The female dorm is very spacious and everyone made sure to respect the house rules.

The kitchen was very filthy. There was lots of leftover food marked as „free“ but much of it was no longer good. Also the fridges were full to the brim with stuff, as was the kitchen table. At some point one of the guests started cleaning it and threw all the rotten food out. Also the bathrooms could use a bit of an upgrade and more regular cleaning.

here is located in new city center, but it is several kilometers far away from old downtown(some traditional attraction spots r there)。旅店位置似乎在新城区，距离一些经典经典有些远，如去博物馆或者老集市就需要打车了

Basil Hostel is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a place to stay in Muscat, I definitely recommend this place. The atmosphere is wonderful, and Basil, his brothers, and their whole family and friends are incredibly welcoming and kind. You immediately feel at home. The people you meet here are great, and it is a very easy place to connect with fellow travellers. The location is perfect, conveniently situated between the airport and the main attractions in Muscat. The prices are also very good and offer great value. If you are looking for a social hostel where you can meet amazing people and easily plan day trips together, this is the place to stay. Basil and his team are very helpful and can organise day trips for you in a way that makes you feel safe and well looked after. Highly recommended.

Nothing, it is an amazing hostel.

This is my third visit in a year and a half, and the reason is my love for the people of the Sultanate of Oman 💛 people of peace and love. This hostel feels like a small homeland for all nationalities; everyone feels comfortable and experiences days of relaxation, tranquility, and warmth.

Honestly, everything was excellent. I didn’t find anything to dislike.

Very social hostel, there is a hostel chat which helps planning and connecting. The people working there are super helpful, funny and good hearted people. Many events and meet ups. Truely amazing. In the female dorm (where i stayed) were curtains, power sockets, small light and we had an ensuite bathroom. The hostel offers tours you can join (perfect as solo traveler without car). Well equipped kitchen, big living room and outdoor area to sit. I extended my stay to about 9 nights. You will not regret! Location is also great (Muscat has no real city center). There are many shops for Coffee and many amazing restaurants close by.

I loved all but if i need to give improvement ideas. I believe a shower curtain would make the bathroom less wet.

Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich. Lage ist gut in der Nähe des Busstop & Foodmarket.

Leider hatten wir keine positive Erfahrung. Es war sehr dreckig, vor allem das Bad - hier wollte man gar nicht erst duschen gehen. Das Hostel ist inzwischen leider sehr runtergekommen. Wir waren froh, nur eine Nacht dort geplant zu haben und schnell wieder weiter zu können.

I think what makes this place best is the owner Basil himself. This guy created an unique travel friendly space in Masqat. I think he quite well understands what travelers need. The hostel is where you can calm down after a long day outside in the heat. The common space easily connects people as its just big enough but not to large to seperate people. You'll find travelers here trying to form groups to do tours and shares costs together.

I think the beds in the dormitory down stairs could use some extra touch. There was no dedicated plug, or light or some kind of shelf. We booked the room upstairs that has it, but two of us were placed in a different room due to overbooking.

As this was my first solo trip I was pretty nervous tbh but here the host was so friendly and helpful plus the people to come to stay were also amazing. I got to meet people of 6+ nationalities and the experience was wonderful. It was above my expectations.

There was nothing to dislike tbh.

Es un hogar en Mascate. Una casa de dos plantas con un salon muy acogedor y cocina con todo lo necesario para cocinar. Cama muy cómoda, buen wifi y un staff encantador. Ubicada en una zona bastante pudiente con numerosos restaurantes, tiendas y supermercados.

Eché en falta una lamparita en la cama.

لا يوجد فطور ، الحجز مكان للاقامة فقط ولكن متواجد مطبح كبير ونظيف صاحب الهوستل واخوانه ما شاء الله عليه طيبية وودودين ايضا ، وتجربة رائعة كشخص اول مرة اقيم فى هوستيل لم اتوقع كل هذا ومن هذا المكان اختلف كليا فكرتي عن الهوستل ولكن هذا هو مكان اقامتي من الان وصاعدنا فى ذهابي الى مسقط ، شكرا لكل الناس الجميلة ، والقط ريكاردو الكسول هههههه ، انه قط جميل احببته ، THE best hostel in muscat

كان لم يعجبني صوت السرير ولكن ذهبت على صلالة وعدت ، قبل ان اذهب قلت لصاحب الهوستل ان هناك مشكله فاعجبني تصرفه لانه قام بترتيب كامل للغرفة مرة اخري مع اصلاحات مباشرة ، هم دائما ينظرون الى راحة العميل دائما ، وشكرا لكم

Je recommande cet hostel à Mascate pour son ambiance conviviale et la gentillesse du personnel. Il est facilement accessible en bus depuis l’aéroport. L’auberge propose également des excursions. Le grand plus : les chambres ont été entièrement rénovées et disposent de lits en alcôves avec rideaux, offrant ainsi un peu d’intimité.

I had a wonderful stay here. It’s a superb hostel, and the best part are the Omani brothers who own and manage the hostel. They are wonderful hosts — and diplomats for their culture. They make everyone feel comfortable and create a true community vibe. This is my favorite hostel in the whole Middle East!
