Reviewed Sep 13, 2026Convenient location within walking distance to see the maelstrom but around 30 minutes by driving to Bodø city center and airport. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no main living/sitting room (the couches are located in each bedroom). We enjoyed the convenience of the washer located within the unit (note there is no dryer).
We found the basement unit to be a bit chilly at first (during shoulder season) but eventually it warmed up some after a few hours of having the heat on.

Всередині дуже чисто та охайно, є абсолютно все необхідне для приготування їжі. Особливе задоволення — обідати на галявині біля будинку, де є столик і барбекю, милуючись краєвидами. Чоловік щодня насолоджувався риболовлею прямо поруч. Природа навколо дика і справжня: до нас у гості виходили лосі, а 19 квітня нам пощастило побачити магічне північне сяйво! Величезний плюс — pet-friendly атмосфера. Ми подорожували з собакою, і до нас поставилися дуже приязно. Щиро рекомендуємо це місце всім, хто любить природу та затишок!"

Beds were very comfortable Nice sofa's Big TV with chromecast An outdoor sink and counter for filleting fish In such a beautiful area with Saltstraumen Maelstrom right at the doorstep! Alex and Beate are wonderful hosts! Lovely friendly people and very helpful. Made us feel right at home

Vriendelijke host. We mochten enkele uren vroeger het appartement betreden. Alles was voorzien. Zeker een aanrader! De Saltstraumen kan je vanop het terras aanschouwen.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2025The host is a friendly and warm-hearted lady. The location is excellent—right near the whirlpool attraction, where you can not only watch the tidal whirlpools but also go fishing. It takes about 30 minutes by car to reach the ferry terminal 。The interior is comfortable, and there is an outdoor dining area and lawn. If I had to mention a minor downside, it's that the unit is a semi-basement. While there's no issue with lighting, the washing machine does not have a drying function, and there's no suitable place to hang clothes to dry. Also, the bed linens are a bit old and feel somewhat rough. However, the bed itself is very comfortable, and we slept very well.

Reviewed Sep 20, 2024Close to the maelstrom and the bridge from where you can check it but also the northern lights, its a great base for exploring the area. The apartment has two toilets, which can be convenient. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The apartment is a partial basement which means there is not much light if there is no sun and there were only individual lamps everywhere so you could not light the whole room. This was not a problem, but this could be improved. Each room had a sleeping couch where you could sit and relax but there was no common room where we all could sit together unless you got a kitchen chair or sat on the ground, so for some this may be inconvenient.

Unfortunately only crushed for the night in one of the worst winter storms past 30 years in North Norway and hence unable explore the surrounding of the accommodation. It was our 10th visit to Norway and again unable see Saltstraumen this time staying next to it b/o the weather., Would stay again and recommend to other.
