Location

The description should be clear about the setup of the rooms, not having private entrance! The cost should be transparent, rather than booking showing one price and yet ending up to pay more at the property. Unfortunately the bedsheets or at least the pillow cases were not fresh/ clean and the smell prevented me from sleeping all night. The breakfast was not as promised and was a minimum. Overall super expensive for what it is.

Lovely old historic house. Quite isolated but that was its charm. Beautiful coastal drive. True New Brunswick. Lots of birdlife around and nice to walk by the river . Very nice welcome. Room comfortable. Old fashioned but that’s what we looked after faceless motel rooms Good breakfast

Liked its historic feel

The person who greeted us was not nice to us at all. We felt unwelcomed. We left there knowing we were not welcomed to stay there. We had to scramble to find a new place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the scenically located Mountainview Solitude Inn, even if it was only for a night. Owner Daphnee kindly made it possible for us to check in late in the evening, after a long drive from Québec. Do make sure to enjoy the home-made breakfast before heading out; it’s worth lingering over. And afterwards there’s plenty of time to admire the low or high tides at Hopewell Rocks, or at other surrounding beaches — no need to hurry anywhere.

Good atmosphere. Quaint house and Daphne was pleasant company

The breakfast included eggs to order and was quite filling. The view from the front porch was wonderful! The owner had great history to share about original home owner, the ship building that used to go on next door, etc. The bed was quite comfortable and location in a quiet neighborhood.

The difficulty she was having with a leak that seemed to come from our bathroom, but was not something we instigated, was a bit awkward.

Ein altes Haus mit Flair und Geschichte. Das Zimmer war schön eingerichtet mit sehr gutem Bett. Super Lage um die Gegend zu erkunden und mal schnell nach Alma zu fahren, um Essen zu gehen, einzukaufen und Lobster zu essen. Jeden Morgen wurde uns ein frisch gekochtes Frühstück gereicht. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und herzlich und gibt viele Tips. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

The location. The warm reception by the lady of the house.

There is no cooker hood in the open kitchen and the open staircase is right next to the stove. So all the smells go upstairs and fill the rooms. We did not like this. Breakfast is at 8h sharp, no exceptions tolerated, which is kind of odd. Compared to other places in NB it's too expensive.

Location is about 25 min drive from Alma, which we knew about and loved the quiet solitude (hence the name). During our stay, at breakfast, we met other wonderful guests from around the world. The host is an exceptional lady who goes out of your way to make your stay comfortable. We were absolutely blown away by her kindness when she found out that we wanted to watch a World Cup game. She helped us create a TSN account and then set up a game room for us in the shed outside. We absolutely recommend this place and will stay there again.

We loved everything!

The location was superb... right on the banks of a tidal river where we could watch the bald eagles and cormorants and herons fishing. It was idyllic and so quiet. The breakfast made by Daphne was also great, served with the other guests for a bit of banter and discussion on what to see. She was a really excellent host and the place felt like a home from home...

The only small issue was that the bed creaked, but it was supremely comfortable and we sleep really well... not a major problem!

Location was breathtaking, breakfast was homemade and delicious. Homeowners were so welcoming and kind. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well! In the morning I woke to an eagle just outside my window, really cool sight. I felt very lucky to have stayed here, it was a really beautiful place to rest.

It was very quiet all night long. We saw bald eagles feeding in the stream across the street while sitting on the veranda. The hosts Des and Daphne were wonderful, and breakfast was delicious.

Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und haben viele tolle Tips. Das Haus liegt an einem Ausläufer der Bay of Fundy, so dass man Ebbe und Flut sogar von dort verfolgen kann. Man merkt wieviel Herzblut die Beiden in ihr Haus gesteckt haben. Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und sie leben dafür Gästen ihre Gegend zu erklären. Am Morgen gibt es ein einfaches, aber frisch zubereitetes Frühstück.

Das Haus ist recht hellhörig Ist bei einem über 200 Jahre alten Haus aber nicht zu verhindern. Von nicht gefallen kann man also nicht reden.

A gorgeous historical house that feels super comfortable and welcoming. Peaceful and quiet at night, and only 20 minutes away from all important landmarks and restaurants. The hosts are the sweetest and very knowledgeable, they shared amazing local insights with us. 10/10!

Des and Daphne were excellent hosts. We sat on the balcony with our cup of tea to watch the Fundy tide, the sea eagles swoop. Great breakfast.

The location and home were beautiful - gorgeous scenery, and you could tell lots of effort was put into updating and maintaining the space. Our hosts, Desi and Daphne were so welcoming and helpful! They offered great tips on things to see and do in the area. Our room was clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the family-style breakfast; it was delicious and sustaining, and they offered options for pescatarian guests. We're already hoping to go back!

Relaxing ambiance and very accommodating hosts

Die Gastgeberin hat uns schlichtweg angelogen um uns ein Zimmer zu vermieten: Sie hat uns gesagt dass sie beim nächsten Restaurant (8km entfernt) angerufen hat und dass dieses geöffnet sei. Wir waren bei der Anreise dort vorbei gefahren und sahen das es geschlossen ist. Als wir hungrig dorthin zurückgefahren sind war es natürlich immer noch zu. Wir mussten dann mehr als 30km fahren und wieder zurück um etwas zu essen. Im Gegensatz zu ihr, ist ihr Mann sehr nett!

Quiet remote location between Fundy national park and Hopewell rocks for daily hikes. Easy drive to towns for dinner and lunch. Hearty breakfast served which was awesome since there are no other restaurants nearby. Note that some booking.com options say no breakfast, but as an actual BnB they do serve breakfast. Contact directly if you are unsure. Hosts were awesome and informative.

Since it’s an old shipbuilders house noise does carry.

The hosts prepared breakfast in front of us and even ate breakfast with us, which was a pleasant surprise! The location is great if you want to see Hope Well, the largest tidal well in the world!

Overall, we were satisfied. I realize the room was too small, but that's not a complaint. All the rooms on our long journey through Eastern Canada were too small for 12 days of traveling with a suitcase and backpacks. Despite our significant delay, for which we apologize once again, the hosts waited for us until late. Thank you!

Loved the heritage aspect of this B&B. Rooms were very nice, and beds were comfy. New wraparound deck was awesome. It was fun watching the Fundy tides right out the window, too. Great breakfast to start your day!

L'accueil des hôtes, Désire et Daphné sont adorable. Ils connaissent toute l'histoire de leurs maisons centenaire et de'ancien chantier navale tout près. Ils étaient au petits soins avec tout le monde. Vraiment exceptionnel comme hébergement.

As would be expected, a bit of a drive to get to restaurants (20 minutes to Alma), but the view and peaceful location is more than worth it.
