This property came with a long history from friends staying there, what a shame it has not lived up to its previous standards.

Noise from other patrons till all hours of the night, some unfriendly staff, packed breakfast was miserable and stale, not worth the money.

My room had cold water but upon enquiring at the reception an alternative was immediately made for me Which I appreciated after being frustrated with the cold shower situation

The breakfast and dinner was fabulous. Manager and staff very attentive and accommodated with any request we had. location a bit further from our work place but everything made up for that. If we ever have to come back to work in the area, we will defnitely be staying at your establishment again.

Staff was not great. Only lady at reception was nice. Breakfast was disaster. On arrival no cups, no coffee. I found waiter in kitchen and asked him. Told I have to wait he busy other guest. Waiting for15 minutes before I could have coffee. In the meantime he passed by and ask us about our eggs. Put down a plate of food while I was still trying to figure out that coffee machine work. Fruit and cheese and Joghurt bowls empty. Was worst breakfast experience long time. He was so unfriendly. On checking out, no one in reception. Again I had to go to kitchen and she called someone that came out eating while taking my key.

The location was good and the place is beautiful. The fact that there is a Restaurant on site was a bonus. We have stayed at the property twice. Its a good halfway mark to the Kgalagadi and great as its has a 24 hour check in, so you can leave at any hour.

Our 2 rooms did not have any hot water. They did move us to other rooms with hot water after we complained, but really bad seeing that we were the only guests on the night. After a long day on the road we were looking forward to a hot shower. In our one room they only supplied us with one towel even though we were 2 people in that room. I did ask about just the one towel snd it seemed the did not have any other to supply. I also really found this odd. They have many rooms snd surely should have towels available. When wanting to use the hair dryer, there were no plug fitting for it. This was really frustrating. They supply coffee and tea in the rooms but no milk or powder milk, which was pointless in my opinion. The food at the restaurant was expensive and the food was honestly not great.

Nice open and welcoming reception. Great and friendly staff working in the restaurant(s) and bar. Very polite and hospital.

Room was small and one could hear the neighbor's arguing. Very dusty drive-in.

The stuff and facilities are satisfying

The air-conditioning wasn't effective enough to deal with conditions, and the hot water finishes fast depending on who started bathing between the two neighboring rooms.

We had a wonderful stay at Kakamas Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, the check-in process was quick and easy, and the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Thank you for the excellent hospitality—we would gladly stay here again!

The super friendly staff.

The staff was super friendly and efficient. The room itself was a disappointment. We had no hot water from the day we checked in. The bathroom shower was leaking. The lights kept tripping. We always book into this hotel when we visit family in Kakamas but our last 2 visits were disappointing.

As we entered the host was not friendly at all. Our room was not what was displayed on the Booking.com app The bathroom had no window!!!! The airflow non existent. The air-conditioning unit was loud. The bed was noisy, I don't know if it was broken 😕 Our room was not cleaned properly.

Bed was broken and standing on bricks. Room was not clean, a lot of dust and spider webs in the corners.

The breakfast was cold, the coffee mschine did not work properly and the eggs weren't cooked properly.

Or toilet wasn't flushed when we got there and there were sand in the bed

The parking was not so great for the room we got, we had 3 bakkies and did not have a space to park infront of the room

Neat, compact hotel with spacious room and bathroom. Quiet with a country feeling despite being on the main road.

The TV sound did not work and the food was plentiful but homely. Neither are deal-breakers.

Friendly staff

Our first room (no.8) was missing remote contol for aircon and the main lights over bed area were not working so it was extremeny dark, the woodwork in many places was chipped and worn. We were then moved to another room (no.19) and whilst the room was better there was a strong smell of damp, the gentleman that checked us in agreed with this and he offered to move us to a third room at which point my partner declined as it was getting late and she had already unpacked her bag twice at this stage.. There are one or two steps that go down from bedroom into bathroom which are quite dangerous if you are not aware of them, especially if you need to use bathroom in the middle of the night. A sign warning guests of this would be a good idea. At 05h15 on Sunday morning, we were abruptly woken by the sound of a big delivery truck and trailer reversing into the property and people shouting directions to the driver. this was most frustrating as we were very tired from a full day of driving the previous day and we were not able to go back to sleep due to the constant noise.

Breakfast was good, and the location was ok also

(1) Did not have bedside mats; we had to use small towels for that purpose (2) During breakfast, two annoying behaviours were observed: (1) whenever you needed help, one had to look around all corners to locate the hotel staff, and (2) for both days, we had to ask for plates and bowls when we were to dish out food. (3) No one showed us how to operate the tea/coffee dispenser, and the hotel staff was not nearby.

After a long drive stopped over for one night, we thoroughly enjoyed our stayThe beds was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning worked as it was very hot. The breakfast was wonderful enough to start our drive.

The main issue was the cleanliness and practicality of the room we were assigned. The bathroom shower showed visible signs of dirt and mould, and there was no air circulation, so you can imagine the smell coming from the bathroom itself. We had informed the hotel in advance that we would be bringing a toddler and requested an additional bed, which they provided. However, I don’t understand why they would place a couple with a toddler in a unit that only has showers. The service on our first night at the hotel was disappointing. When we took our child to the pool area near the bar and restaurant, no waiters came to assist us. I had to approach them myself to request the menu, which was an unpleasant experience and negatively impacted the mood of our stay.

The breakfast was adequate and the setting of the hotel was peacefull.

Paying R25 for a small bottle of water was I thought a bit excessive. The spare ribs I ordered came straight out of a box of pre -cooked ribs one would buy at Spar or the local supermarket. Not so impressed with Badgers grill food although the staff were excellent.

Accommodation in need of a revamp, management explained they about to undergo a upgrade. A good clean of rooms especially showers is needed. Staff very friendly and helpful hopefully new management can make some changes

Room was spacious and clean

You could really spend a bit of time and effort on the garden. The grass patch in front of our unit had a lot of weeds and the fountain did not work.

The peace and tranquility of the facility was exceptional 👌

Smell of irrigation water...😏 Plus, irrigation was switched on before we booked out, making external and internal tiles very slippery.

Location to Augrabies

The linen was dirty..We requested it to be changed but was just turned around. The dinner was stale .The breakfast omelets had egg shells. The cleanliness of the hotel is very poor.Was an unpleasant stay for our family.

The hotel is good value for money. The rooms were comfortable clean and the aircon worked very well. Staff were extremely friendly and the manager was very helpful when I needed help

It was a disappointment. Food was good Will I return, doubt it very much, many other good venues around. The establishment needs strong leadership and a serious update

The hotel is nothing compared to its former glory when the Steenkamp’s owned it. Our room the first night had a serious sewage issue. After we checked in and arrived in our room, the bathroom floor was covered by water, we called reception and maintenance was send to our room. I told the gentleman that the toilet must be leaking. After 5 minutes he departed with the message that he will return. Never saw him again. The next morning the bathroom was covered by water and with a very strong sewage smell. We called management and the manager could not believe it. When we pointed out to the old water damage to bathroom closet, that this must be an occurring issue, I wanted to know from why they will give this room to clients knowing well there is an issue. Still waiting for an answer.

The hotel is perfectly located as a stopover to visit the Augrabies Falls. After leaving, we realised that we had forgotten to pack of my wife’s clothes that was in the cupboard. Dalian went out of his way to package the items, so the courier guy could collect parcel and drop it off at our home in Johannesburg. Thank you.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time was over the same period a few years ago, and it was amazing! This time however, the staff serving the guests around the pool and for dinner were far too few, and of them were poorly trained. This is a management problem and not a staff problem! Our bed, although it was a Kingsize, it felt as if I was going to roll off the side all the time!

Booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Upon arrival my room was under construction, had to wait for another room to be prepaired. Second room was prepaired for one person only. Rooms were not serviced daily, we had to ask for extra coffee mug and towels.

Breakfast was okay however was looking for fried eggs not scrambled. Location it's okay too

I booked a double‑occupancy room for two guests, but when I arrived the room was set up for one person only ( one towel set, teas, no teaspoons.). I’m pretty disappointed because I paid for a room that should accommodate both of us.

The staff was very friendly. We were travelling with 4 dogs and they really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and accommodated us with the dogs.

The property was very clean and neat and garden was very nice.

We were booked into a triple room with a horrible bathroom. The shower head was broken, no window, extractor fan didn't work, big cracks in wall an no warm water. No hairdryer in room and tv remote was broken. The hotel has a lot of potential but they need to do more maintenance.

Restaurant only had 2 bottles of wine in stock, half the menu wasn't available and no fruit juice at all.

I recommend buffet on such a facility

Leider fast alles :-( Das Vergelegen war einmal ein so schönes und liebevoll gestaltetes Hotel. Nun wirkt die gesamte Anlage leider sehr vernachlässigt. Dunkles Zimmer, kein Fön, Save verschlossen Unprofessionelles Personal Beim Abendessen war kaum einer der Weine von der Karte verfügbar Ständig recht laute Musik im Restaurant und mitsingendes Personal Das Frühstücksbüffet bot fast nix und wurde nur auf Nachfrage nachgefüllt (dies aber freundlich)

Beautiful room and location

My shower was faulty, Itreid to fix it but no good, I ordered food and the wrong food was delivered to my room, so when no one came back after 15 min I started eating as I already got undressed, later someone came back and stated it was wrong but I already ate the food and had to pay R140 extra the next morning, Wifi did not work, signal was bad to use own data

Breakfast was good, with excellent service from the staff.

The hotel has seen better days. With a bit of TLC and attention to detail, it would be top class.

The location was good.

The bathroom vanity was so warped and hanging on a thread. The soap holder in the shower was broken, and the cold water mixer was not working. When we ordered food for supper, there were no snails, calamari, crumbed mushrooms, no condiments, eg. Tabasco sauce, worchestershire sauce ,chutney, and more. No Stella Artois beer. It was just a very unsatisfactory experience and will not recommend this hotel.

Before it was much better, now I was disappointed ☹️

The dining room is a little small when it is cold and wet outside! The swimmingpool area needs attention!

The restaurant that they have there sells proper food. Good food. And the portions are good sized.

Aiii, there were ants all over the bathroom. The toilet paper roll was used. The noise that was made by the bar fridge was unbearable.
