Hotel Firststay Myeongdong

The hotel's central location is its biggest strength. Right outside the hotel is a bus stop, and down the street is a subway line. It only takes 1 transfer to get from Gimpo Airport to here. The transit nearby will connect you to anywhere in Seoul, with most tourist destinations being less than 20 minutes away. Around the hotel are also great restaurants if you wanted to save a trip to Myeongdong. Secondly, all the staff were amazing with their service and English skill. I wanted to thank Dustin for giving us a warm goodbye on our checkout and everyone else in the hotel for answering all of our questions. The hotel was good enough for us to stay in twice during our trip. Being able to do laundry was nice as well.

During our 2 stays, we checked into two different rooms. The biggest negative I have is noise. The first room 402 was fairly noisy due to a possible water heater nearby. The A/C had to be blasting to cool the room and the fridge would also turn on throughout the night. The second room we stayed in 304 was a lot better. But throughout the hotel, the walls are really thin so you can hear neighbors (though everyone was respectful during our stay). You also have to be careful with the shower as the water can very quickly move from freezing to scalding.

Good

Great location between two main station, City hall station and Seoul station. A lot of bus options upfront as well. Quiet, comfortable rooms with AC. Dustin was very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. He was really responsive and helpful via WhatsApp. Nice food spots within minutes by walking. Convenience stores and Olive Young nearby as well.

Centrally located, and the staff were amazing! The hotel is hidden but right down the street from the train station. It was also a 20-minute walk to Myeongdong—a perfect location away from the crowds and noise.

My bathroom flooded easily when I used the sink. The room was a little meh, but I didn’t spend much time in there anyway. It’s great for a short stay!

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Firststay Myeongdong! The location is amazing, right beside a street full of restaurants with plenty of dining choices. It’s super convenient for shopping and exploring Myeongdong. There is an open lounge space on the 6th floor, it’s really cozy and relaxing to hang out there. All hotel staff were friendly, polite and lovely, especially Judy who gave me warm help during my trip. The room was clean and the whole experience was wonderful. I would love to come back again when I visit Seoul next time

Recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay at a place with better costs and in a convenient area. I appreciated Dustin’s help from the time I checked in to checking out. He was very personable and made my experience staying at the hotel memorable.

My room was reasonable for what I paid for … there was no window in my room but a rooftop garden where you can have coffee all day long was a nice touch.

The hotel was in a perfect location and was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything we needed was available on site. We had a really great stay.

Brilliant location in a quiet alley with loads of local restaurants around. The room is quiet and with good room size, a comfy large size bed. ‘help yourself’ toiletry kits, lovely self service quaint roof top lounge for refilling water, free tea/coffee with quiet sitting. Helpful receptionist and prompt make up room service if staying 3 nights or more. Easy walking to Mygeondon and 5 mins to Namdamum market.

Our room is right next to the guest toilet on the 3rd floor, it is noisy from the users. The fact is the hotel is in a narrow alley, no natural light from the window.

This hotel was perfectly located in Seoul near city hall and on major transit lines. It was easy to get around the city and there was plenty to do at night near the hotel. The rooms were the perfect size for a couple and the staff was incredibly helpful, especially Dustin at check-in. The value is hard to beat and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Seoul.

We did have a small issue with our room cleaning not being complete but the staff quickly dealt with it and were highly professional. I feel like if you do have any issues while staying there they will deal with it quickly and professionally.

Both reception staff workers were extremely helpful and did everything to assist with any requests I had during my stay. The hotel was clean and well maintained.

- very central location - staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help us organise a tour for the next day and offer suggestions of restaurants - clean hotel - comfortable bed - had everything you needed - felt very local and special.

- I had booked an extra night (5 nights instead of 4) and the hotel was not able to cancel the extra night even though we were only slightly out of the free cancellation period.

The hotel was located in a back alley and was not a proper hotel at all. It was more like a guesthouse. The air conditioning could not be set below 21°C because otherwise it would start leaking water. There was even a strong toilet smell throughout the room, including around the bed area. The photos completely hid the actual condition of the property and made it look like a proper hotel, but in reality, it was nothing like that. It was absolutely horrifying.

The rooms were not cleaned for the 5 day stay that we were there, however the towels were exchanged every day and they offered amenities kits.

The location is very convenience, staff are very friendly. Air-con, bath or shower, provide toothbrush, hairdryer, and some grooming for man too. They have a little treats to give you when you check in and check out.

Our stay at Hotel Firststay Myeongdong was great, especially thanks to Dustin. We were a group of six and booked two rooms, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. Dustin was incredibly helpful and responsive—he answered all our questions quickly, gave us useful tips about the area, and made sure we had everything we needed. Honestly, having someone like him made our whole trip feel easier and more enjoyable. The location is also great. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the center of Myeongdong, so shopping, dining, and sightseeing were super convenient. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perfect for our family. Thanks to Dustin and the great location, our stay was stress-free and fun. We’d definitely recommend this place and come back again!

Firststay Hotel Myeongdong was an excellent choice for our stay in Seoul. The location is very convenient, close to the heart of Myeongdong and within a 15-minute walk of Seoul Station. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. A special mention to Dustin and the entire front desk team, who were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Everything was great, and we would definitely stay here again!

Tienes un bus limusina que te trae y te lleva al aeropuerto muy cerca, en el City Hall, así como parada de bus en la puerta y la estación de tren muy cerca. Hotel Firststay Myeongdong, its so nearby with City Hall exit 8. If you love to going Seoungsu & Hongdae. That’s the perfect location. Its also nearby with Seoul Station and Namdaemun Market.

Excellent location, convenient, very friendly staff and great communication! On the last day Dustin prepared a gift bag for us with water and snacks for the trip and a letter in our mother tongue! So extra and kind of him to do so!
