Reviewed Apr 5, 2026We booked the hotel on booking.com, we have not seen the room verbally, seen only on photos , at the time of check in i didn't like the room it was very small though the room quality was very nice, everything was perfect, i requested mr Akhil the caretaker,to upgrade the room, was asking 1.5k extra for 1 night that means i have to pay 3k for 2 nights, i said no and accepted the room which we have booked disappointed...we went for sightseeing and came at 9 pm having dinner outside only.. Guess what? As we entered the hotel a sweet and beautiful lady was waiting for us just to say 'sir your room has been upgraded with no extra charges.. What?????????

Reviewed Mar 14, 2026We loved this resort. The location was spectacular. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable and tastefully designed. The staff were cheerful and very accomodating. For our anniversary they prepared a candlelight dinner for us, high up in a lookout platform. Another night they prepared a private barbecue for us under a thatched roof.
For a longer stay such as ours, the dinner food selection could have been more varied.

Es gibt einen Aussichtsturm, von dem der Blick noch weiter streifen kann. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Der Pool erfrischend. Mit Auto-Rikshaw sind es 10 Minuten bis in die nette Kleinstadt Kalpetta. Wunderbar für jeden, der Ruhe und Erholung im Grünen sucht.

Reviewed Jan 29, 2026We loved everything about our stay. We cannot fault one thing. We arrived at Sylvan Resort, feeling under the weather as we both caught a stomach bug. They were super attentive and checked in on us several times, asking if we wanted any light meals or drinks. The room was immaculately clean and generously sized. The property itself was gorgeous and serene. They grow coffee, cardamom and other local spices on the farm. They also have an amazing viewing tower for watching those beautiful Wayanad sunsets. The food was excellent. And the staff! They were absolutely wonderful. We hope to visit Wayanad again one day and stay at Sylvan Resort.

Reviewed Jan 16, 2026Very well appointed rooms (if possible get one with a balcony), the small complex is situated about 30 minutes walk from Kalpetta and is peaceful and relaxing. Staff helpful and attentive. Tasty food options on site. The watchtower is a great view point and if possible have a meal under the thatched barn.
Unless you like walking you need a tuk tuk to get about, and the menu options are limited. Meal times are a bit late 8.30am breakfast and 8.30pm dinner.

The property was located very far from main road. And the road to property is sterp and very narrow. Food was not so good. Mainly it is not comfortable for disabled people, as the facilities like dining hall is located on first floor which is accessible only by stairs. Staff was ok. Didnt felt welcoming on arrival. Although they guide us well to tour around waynad. But the rooms we got was one up and one down as booked by booking.com. Although they gave us room on same floor for two nights as it was available, but the third night when shifted in the room downstairs we faced lots of trouble: no hot water, tv remote not working properly, no wifi. In photos it looks very good but in reality its a very average resort. Swimming pool is not suitable for kids and there is no lifeguard, they have put a notice ‘swim on your own risk, no lifeguard available. We didnt enjoy staying at this resort. If you need comfort and fun for family with kids this resort is not so good.

Very disappointing experience. The resort is not worth the money and does not match what is shown in the advertisements. The location is poor, and the staff lack professionalism. Breakfast options are very limited. The trampoline is rusted and damaged, and the kids’ play area is poorly maintained, broken, and extremely small. The swimming pool is also a major disappointment—it is very small and suitable only for children. Overall, this resort is definitely not recommended.cleaning of toilet, floor mats are poor as well.

We had a private candlelight dinner in the watchtower and highly recommend it was one of the highlights of our trip so far. Also the staff are very attentive and kind. Akhil took us for a morning walk and showed us around the property which we really enjoyed and Jinu made sure we were happy each meal. We also loved the badminton and many other games they had available. Definitely stay here if you get the chance.

Our room had an amazing view with a spacious balcony. The food (kerala parotta and paneer chatpata) was very tasty. For a couple this is probably as good as it gets.
TV model in our room was out of date and couldn’t run either Netflix or prime video. The knob in the bathroom to switch from tap to shower was really tight. Maybe could use some maintenance

Reviewed Sep 4, 2025I recently stayed at Sylvan Resort in Wayanad. The property is clean, well-maintained, and located in a calm and quiet area, which makes it a relaxing place. However, for the price charged, the rooms felt just average and not very spacious. The swimming pool is placed right in front of the reception and is visible from almost all the rooms, which takes away the sense of privacy. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing with very limited options. While the resort has a peaceful atmosphere and a nice ambiance, the overall experience doesn’t fully justify the pricing. In short, Sylvan is a calm and quiet resort with good cleanliness and ambiance, but there is scope for improvement in room comfort, food variety, and pool design to match the price point.
