Un lugar muy acogedor, la cama y almohadas nos hicieron descansar plácidamente, el desayuno muy rico, super cerca del centro lo cual todo lo puedes hacer a pie y el personal muy lindo.

Un hotel muy cómodo y acogedor, además está muy bien ubicado, a pocos minutos caminando de todos los sitios de interés. Los desayunos excelentes y servidos a la hora exacta que uno los pide.

Muy contentas con la experiencia en general. Instalaciones muy acogedoras, limpias y cómodas. Una ubicación excelente a 10 minutos de todo pero muy tranquilos. El desayuno muy rico. Son 5 habitaciones y había 3 camareras y un recepcionista.

La ubicación es perfecta, y la habitación es espaciosa, bonita y súper agradable. El desayuno estaba muy bueno y, además, al llegar te dejan algunas bebidas en la nevera, un detalle que se agradece mucho.

Del alojamiento nos gustó todo y, en general, el personal fue muy agradable y atento. Como único aspecto negativo, al hacer el check-out, había una chica en la entrada que estaba hablando por el ordenador y, aunque estábamos allí esperando y teníamos bastante prisa, no nos prestó ninguna atención ni pareció darse cuenta de que estábamos esperando. La situación nos resultó bastante incómoda, ya que sentimos que nos ignoraba por completo. Entendemos que pudiera estar ocupada con algún asunto de trabajo, pero creemos que habría sido suficiente con dedicarnos un momento o indicarnos que tendríamos que esperar. Por lo demás, el trato del resto del personal fue correcto y nuestra experiencia en el alojamiento fue muy buena.

Simple mais de très bon goût avec jolie deco, chambre à l’étage calme et sans vis à vis avec une terrasse privative où le petit déjeuner est servi. Quartier populaire très agréable et sympathique, un peu à l’écart mais néanmoins à 5 minutes à pieds du Zocalo. Personnel adorable. Propreté impeccable et très bonne literie. Super rapport qualité prix.

Le personnel nous a très bien accueilli. La chambre était très bien, même si la salle de bain nous a semblé un peu petite, mais rien de mal. Nous nous y sommes senti à la maison. La localisation est fantastique, quasiment en plein centre. De manière générale l'ensemble de notre voyage à Oaxaca fut un grand succès et l'hôtel y a certainement participé. Mais principalement, les listes Google Maps de Jay était vraiment quelque chose de supplémentaire, quelque chose que j'aimerais vraiment retrouver dans d'autres hôtels. On a adoré les recommandations sur les listes.

Hotel carino, vicino al centro di Oaxaca. Camera minima, dalle foto sembrava meglio.

Purtroppo la colazione è un servizio da migliorare, i piatti di per sé erano buoni ma lo staff non si occupa dei clienti. Viene servita nel cortile interno ma nessuno si affaccia per prendere l’ordine o per sparecchiare (abbiamo dovuto tutte le mattine andare a bussare alla porta della cucina trovando il personale seduto al telefono). Una mattina stavamo addirittura per saltare la colazione perché avevamo un’escursione fissata e in un’ora di attesa i piatti sono arrivati negli ultimi 5 minuti. Lo staff ci ha detto che avremmo dovuto comunicargli l’ordine la sera prima se avessimo voluto la colazione entro un certo orario ma nessuno ci aveva avvisati.

Das Hotel Materia ist großartig. Wir können es sehr weiterempfehlen. Das Zimmer ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück was sehr lecker. Es wird auf die Dachterasse gebracht und ist immer frisch zubereitet. Das gesamte Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Kontakt über WhatsApp klappt einwandfrei und die Antworten kommen immer sehr schnell. Die Lage ist perfekt im Zentrum von Oaxaca. Wir konnten überall hinlaufen. Wir haben sehr viele Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants bekommen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Great location within walking distance to great restaurants and shops. The staff were super helpful and nice. It was especially helpful having the nice breakfast which could be organised to be ready before we went on our day trip.

Location is good in downtown Oaxaca, a 10-15 minutes walk from every place you want to visit. It is safe and comfortable. It is a small boutique hotel with only 5 rooms. Staff is on site till 10 pm and they are incredibly friendly and helpful. Standard interaction channel is WhatsApp and if you contact them they respond within a minute and if you need them they will come right away to your room to help you. You select the breakfast from a menu the day before and it is served at the time of your choice in the patio. The ladies preparing and serving it were fantastic and the breakfast was good. We mostly interacted with Jay who helped us with a lot of suggestions and explanation about Oaxaca. We really liked talking with him and with the other guests we met at breakfast

The communication was smooth and clear. Info regarding arrival from the airport was well communicated. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Room was pretty. Large enough and comfortable bed. Smart tv for when it was raining. You can get tea/coffee/drinks at the property. They also had a minibar with few complimentary drinks. We had the breakfast included which was sumptuous. We could store our luggage at their lockers after checkout. We got a taxi booked from the reception which appeared right in front of the door even with the ongoing protests.

It is a nice place but I would qualify it more as a B&B than a hotel. It has no proper staffed reception. You need a security code to enter the "hotel" itself. It has only a few rooms. Nothing particularly wrong with that but considering the high price of the room per night, we were expecting a posh hotel, so it is somewhat of a surprise. Although the communications through WhatsApp before and during our stay were always good and rapid, we were never told that there would be a blockade on our street during our stay caused by a teachers strike. It was a bit of a shock one morning when we walked out and saw all the tents blocking the street and found out that the blockades would be for an indefinite amount of time. We researched it and the blockades had been planned several weeks before our stay. We would have liked to be warned about it in advance. It all worked out at the end as our host arranged for a taxi driver to physically come pick us up and take us to his parked car nearby. But we still broke a wheel of one of our luggage while rolling it on the cobbled stones.

A lovely boutique stay in the heart of Oaxaca. Materia Hotel is small and intimate, thoughtfully designed, and well-located for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and attentive, quick to respond and generous with local recommendations. Breakfast was good, with vegan options accommodated without any fuss.

La ubicación es muy buena para caminar por el Centro de Oaxaca, el desayuno está súper bien y la atención de las chicas de cocina fue increíble. Llegamos temprano y pudimos guardar nuestras maletas en un locker en lo que estaba la habitación.

Considero que Casa Materia no es un hotel, es más bien un Airbnb bonito con buenos servicios y si se anunciara así hubiera estado súper de acuerdo. Las fotografías creo que son generosas con el espacio: es bonito, pero algunas cosas ya no están nuevas y la calidad no es la mejor: la regadera tiraba agua por todos lados y no han limpiado la cabeza en un rato, la iluminación de noche en el cuarto es luz blanca y poco agradable, la subida a la habitación es muy apretada. En fin, detalles menores pero que habría que observar.

I stayed here for a week. Small boutique hotel with only 5 rooms. My room was small but more than enough for one person with good amenities on an interior courtyard. Both J an Omar gave great information. It's hot in Oaxaca in May and the AC is outstanding. The breakfast was outstanding. Location is around the 3 blocks to the Zocalo and close to everything most people will need. I would stay here again.

Being in the middle of the city occasionally is a buit nosiy.

Bathroom lacked privacy, the window in bathroom was visible from patio that if someone is working the bar they could see in our room. You can also hear the person next door in their bathroom. Cleaning lady stole my wedding ring.

So peaceful, rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Felt luxurious for a good price. Great location for exploring Oaxaca on foot. Breakfast was lovely each morning and great choice. Jay provided excellent recommendations and went above and beyond to help.

Our stay at Materia in Oaxaca exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly five-star in every way. The hotel itself is stunning. Our king suite was beautifully designed, comfortable, understated, and luxurious. The bathroom was next-level luxury while still feeling warm and relaxed. Morning breakfast was also incredible, far beyond what we expected. Materia is a very special place. Beautiful rooms, outstanding food, and service that truly sets it apart. I would recommend it without hesitation and hope to return very soon!

Clean, unique architecture and design throughout;comfortable beds, excellent maid service, good food, amenities like sun hats, tour books. Umbrellas and yoga mats all provided. A great little upstairs terrace bar with tapas. Breakfast served in an outdoor shaded garden. Staff was amiably helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. Location is great- walking distance from the center of town/ the zocolo and Mercado.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are so friendly! Jay was amazing! He was so helpful during our stay. He helped us book a taxi to the airport for the morning and recommended a laundry place who dropped our laundry back at the hotel when it was ready. The cleaners were very good, our room felt brand new every day. The location is good too, about 5-10min walk to the zocalo. The property itself is very beautiful and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay again! Loved it!

Very few staff present and facilities were scarce. Everything was WhatsApp focussed and even that didn’t work on occasions such as ordering your breakfast. Normally very responsive to travel and tour enquiries but poor on staff contact.

The room and bathroom were big. The bed was nice!! And people working were super nice and helpful. Great location!

Only thing I didn’t like was the sink is weird so it sprays up when you’re washing your face.

Tivemos um problema ocasionado por um hóspede terceiro. O gerente Jay foi extremamente atencioso e preocupado em resolver a questão, nos dando várias possobilidades e alternativas. A experiência saiu melhor do que o esperado. Localização ótima, próximo aos principais pontos, café da manhã delicioso.

Very quaint and private interiors with beautiful furnishings. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the terrace each morning was lovely.

The central court yard, what seems like it would be a beautiful place to enjoy in the evenings, echos within the area. While checking in at 10pm, another guest came to complain about the noise as she had an early flight.

The hotel is quiet and cozy. Everything you need is there for a comfortable stay.

We wanted to treat ourselves to a nicer room to rest up and it was brilliant. We had our own patio where breakfast was served. And a very comfortable room. After we checked out we could keep our bags there untill late. Our tour from hierve del agua was delayed and we only got back at 21:00. That was no problem. And we could use their bathroom still to change. Jay is a very considerate and nice person. He helped us alot and is super easy to reach on WhatsApp. We also stored our bags there in the morning before check in without any problem.

There was one window that didn't have a curtain. The light in the morning woke us up a bit sooner than we wanted.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Materia and would recommend it to anyone visiting Oaxaca City. Jay and the other staff were very friendly and were quick to give me advice on where to eat, transport, etc. The room was extremely clean and comfortable I loved breakfast each morning on the rooftop.

The only minor issue: staff were sometimes unaware guests were waiting on the rooftop at breakfast time.

La struttura tipicamente messicana con corte centrale, l’arredamento molto curato, la pulizia e la tranquillità, la cortesia e disponibilità del personale. Inoltre, si trova a due passi dal centro e dai migliori ristoranti della città.

Tutto perfetto, solo avremmo preferito poter aprire la finestra e avere il lavandino nel bagno invece che in camera. Ma sono stati piccoli dettagli che non hanno influito sul soggiorno per il resto perfetto.

Great staff! They were very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast served daily in the courtyard. Great location within walking distance to most everything in al centro.

This was our favorite stay in Mexico. Wonderful location to explore Oaxaca, spacious room, hot shower (with water pressure!) and friendly staff. the included breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to sit up on the rooftop each morning to enjoy it. We made use of the laundry service which was efficient and reasonably priced.

Hotel ma tylko 4 pokoje więc jest bardzo cicho i spokojnie. Śniadania bardzo smaczne i urozmaicone. Natomiast na największy plus zasługuje personel który bardzo sprawnie odpisuje na wiadomości i potrafi wszystko załatwić aby gość nie musiał się stresować np. Praniem, wcześniejszym śniadaniem czy taxi na lotnisko.
