The property is surrounded by farmland, and we even got to see some lovely animals nearby. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet, and at night we could enjoy a sky full of stars. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. We also really appreciated the fresh eggs and milk provided—it was such a thoughtful touch.

Stayed at Brookside Country Escape and honestly, it was such a unique and relaxing experience. The space is beautifully designed—it's a converted container, but you’d never feel like you’re missing anything. It has all the amenities you need, thoughtfully arranged to make the stay super comfortable. What really makes this place special is the setting. Surrounded by peaceful farms and open land, it’s the perfect escape from the city—quiet, scenic, and refreshing. A special mention to Stephanie, who is truly a gem of a person. She made us feel so welcome right from the start—greeting us with farm fresh milk and eggs, which was such a warm and thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something cozy, unique, and close to nature.

Het ontbijt. Er waren verse eitjes, maar er was geen brood. Enkel cornflakes en melk.

Viel besser als auf den Bildern! Geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, gut ausgestattete Küche (mit guter Grundausstattung und Airfryer!), nettes Begrüßungspaket (Eier, Milch, Riegel, Snacks), bequemes Wohnzimmer, zweckmäßiges Bad. Super Whirlpool! Top Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis!

Leider hatten wir Pech mit dem Wetter - die Farmtiere haben uns deshalb nicht besucht. Nächstes Mal!

Gewoonweg een fantastisch ingerichte container voorzien van alle gemakken. Mooie tuin met uitzicht op weiland en een jacuzzi in de tuin, heerlijk. Stephanie is uiterst vriendelijk. Uitstekend om een nacht te verblijven op doorreis. Lekker rustige ligging trouwens. En de prijs is zeer netjes

Wordt aangeboden met ontbijt bestaande uit verse melk, eieren en muesli. Als je geen muesli liefhebber bent dan wel zelf iets meenemen.

Sehr ruhige schöne Lage mitten in der Natur. Super eingerichtet, sehr sauber. Gut organisiert. Es gab frische Eier zum Frühstück. Jederzeit wieder gerne.

Gewoonweg alles de ligging de rust het huisje de vogeltjes Stephanie zo lief en vriendelijk, als we ooit terugkomen staat deze al zeker op ons lijstje

The attention to detail was amazing, they had thought of everything. And the calves on the doorstep were a treat.

Not a negative for us but it really is remotely in the country so be prepared for views of green grass and cows!

Great location for a stay outside of Christchurch. Quick and easy access into Chichester. Lovely rural outlook. Quiet. Easy access to property. Lovely breakfast.

Unique place, in shipping containers converted to a very comfortable lodging. We enjoyed the breakfast supplies that were provided. Everything was comfortable and Stephanie provided great communication to help us enjoy our stay. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus even with the dryer located out back in a shed 😁.

The host, Stephanie was super friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast provided.Great location in rural Canterbury, very quiet, peaceful surrounds.

門口就有幾隻牛在吃草，對於想要體驗農場日常的我們真是一大驚喜。設備很齊全，Stephanie還很熱心地先幫我們打開暖氣，熱水很大很充足，一切都很享受，如果下次再來，一定會再去待一晚。😘

The friendly, nothing is a problem attitude was exceptional. They allowed me to park my trailer for the day to enable more ease of shopping within the busy traffic. Communication was also gold star. Would definitely stay again.

The place was very spacious and had all the amenities that made our stay there feel special. Wish we could have stayed longer, and if we had the opportunity we would definitely stay there again.

1）The hostess was very friendly. For breakfast, she prepared fresh eggs from the farm, as well as milk, snacks, etc. 2）The room is equipped with a comprehensive range of brand - new facilities. Amenities such as a washing machine are all readily available. The room is immaculately tidied, and the bed offers a comfortable sleeping experience. 3）The farm has only one guest suite with a separate entrance and exit. There is no disturbance at all, and it is very quiet at night. 4）The hostess also invited us to visit the farm, have close contact with the horses, pick fruits, etc. My son was very happy and misses this experience very much.

I stayed at Brookside to break up a long drive from Nelson to Dunedin. The location was convenient and the property was clean and easy to locate. I met the owner and she suggested a great place to eat in Leeston (the Suburban Eatery). I slept very soundly and continued on my travels. A nice alternative to the noise and traffic of Christchurch.

The place was amazing. Well set out on a private rural property with cows and sheep. Owner was very friendly and made you welcome. Was more than we hoped for. I wish we had stayed longer.

Everything was perfect

The container house was lovely and had everything we needed. Stephanie's communication was perfect and the finishing touches (Xmas tree and pressies) were greatly appreciated. This was the perfect location for us on our journey south and loved the setting with only trees and cows to be seen. We will be back I'm sure.

Quiet rural location but easy to find. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything in excellent condition. Bed was very comfortable. Milk and nibbles left for us by host which was much appreciated. This was an overnight stop to break a long journey but so wish we had booked a few more nights!

Absolutely nothing to dislike about it! The property was perfect and although we only met the host briefly, as we stayed just one night, she was friendly and welcoming.

The breakfast was amazing, the cows are so lovely to have nearby, the place everything that you might need when travelling!

It was a lovely little house right in front of a field of calves, which we loved watching run around and stare at us occasionally. The space was very comfortable and the included breakfast was great. I had forgotten to let the host know I was gluten free and she went out of her way to accommodate for me. Would definitely recommend for a nice, relaxing farm getaway!

Stepahnie was an amazing host, although we didnt meet face to face, Stephanie was an excellent communicator and provides a fantastic service and is very accommodating. The unit was absolutely spotless, it is much bigger inside than it looks from outside with seperate bedroom at one end and lounge dining at the other with amenities in between. Very well thought out design. A very tranquil spot with easy access, fresh eggs, plenty of fresh milk, condiments and nice cereals and fruit for breakfast. Free Wifi, TV and a lovely deck to sit and sip a wine in tranquility. We wanted to book again over December but it is such a popular spot we lucked out of course - will definitely stay again in the future.

standard Cell coverage a bit sticky inside the unit as per it being a container but good enough coverage outside - we used Whatsapp inside and out which was alot better

This is a fantastic container house, hidden from the main road and private from the main house with a beautiful country outlook. Is was very modern, well laid out inside with plenty of room in the bedrooms (very comfy beds!) and living areas with everything you could need in the kitchen including dishwasher and also laundry facilities. Fresh eggs, cookies and cereals were provided along with juice and fresh milk. Situated close to Leeston, this was ideal for our stay. Excellent communication from the owners. This ticks all the boxes, excellent value for money, private, comfy beds, modern house - 10/10!

Honestly, I can't think of anything we didn't like. We were blown away with this wee gem, it defintely exceeded our expectations! We stayed again on our return trip and would definitely stay here again.

My friend and I had a very lovely stay! It was probably our favourite of the many different places we stayed during our roadtrip. Would totally come again!
