Reviewed Oct 2, 2025Boots was a wonderful host going above and beyond. The welcome goodies and wine were much appreciated and all her recommendations of local attractions were most welcomed. We loved visiting the hot box sauna nearby. Balsoon is an amazing place to stay, definitely has the wow factor. Super comfy beds and had everything we needed and more! Would highly recommend.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2024Hostess and owner Geraldine, also called "Boots", was so gracious, kind, and attentive. We would go back just to spend more time with her. Since our trip was in honor of our father whose days are numbered, the Balsoon Lodge was a welcoming and safe respite. The home, decor, and grounds were top notch.
It's a bit of a drive to Trim (15 minutes), but well worth it if you want a cozy place to spend time with family or friends.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2024The hosts were unbelievably helpful kind helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Treats and little touches of thoughtfulness added to the whole experience.....fresh bread, eggs cheeses and wine was such a warm touch.

I thought the fact that there was only one bathroom would be an issue but it didn't turn out to be one.

Reviewed Jan 1, 2024The decor the homely atmosphere, the warmth we felt as soon as we entered the property. Like a home from home except total luxury. Beds were so comfy. Homemade bread.. Fresh eggs and cheese and wine on arrival.. Bliss

Reviewed Sep 1, 2023The high taste of the interiors and the setup, the blend of colors, as well as the theme, have reflected her high taste in her choice for the lodge. Every piece that was there had a story behind it. Everything was perfectly designed for its space, and a full library was at the touch of your fingers. If you are missing your pets, you have BOO very friendly dog and two cats. They will keep you busy; they are extremely friendly. The thoughtful host even baked us fresh bread, fresh farm eggs daily, and honey from the area. Geraldine is a perfect host in every sense. Thank you for lighting up the fireplace.

Reviewed Aug 20, 2023Our hosts, they were absolutely incredible. They were so caring and kind. Boots and Richard made our stay a memorable and find time that we will cherish. We highly recommend. Everything was simply wonderful!
