Pleasant host and hospitality Recommend

Great value, great location, Great host, super comfortable bed...home from home. The host gary suggested great restaurants and great location knowledge. I'll be back again..

Shared bathroom, put it wasn't a problem for me..

The view was excellent and only a short walk into the town.

I was too intimidated to give the place a try after a very disturbing welcome, witnessed by the my driver. On her advice, I didn't stay.

My reception from Doreen was incredibly poor. When I mentioned the place was far further out than I imagined, and I was tired from the Camino, she went on about not being a walker and not believing in exercise. Three times. The outdoor sitting area was not as portrayed. The place looked cluttered and didn't include breakfast or kitchen access. I asked for 2 of the 3 nights to be refunded in my message and Gary threatened me. I've since received a barrage of threatening voice messages and emails from him and had to alter my review.

I dropped off my bags a few hours before check-in, but it went downhill within minutes, and I retrieved them and found somewhere else to stay. When I mentioned the very uncomfortable reception by his wife, he sent me a threatening message.

Gary had agreed to provide some driver services and show me around, but he was out of town, and taxis are hit-and-miss, so I was worried about being stuck there with tension in the air. The outdoor sitting area was not as portrayed. The place looked cluttered and didn't include breakfast or kitchen access. I asked for 2 of the 3 nights to be refunded in a message, and he disparaged and threatened me. He's been harassing me over my reviews which include two back-to-back bookings. I have the harassing voicemails and emails I don't trust him one bit and didn't put in this complaint until I was safely out of town. I'd like a full refund and wish Booking.com would help.

Gary is a great host, I really enjoyed my stay! Everything was as advertised, and he even offered me a ride to the starting point of my next hike. Would certainly recommend and book again.

Lovely hosts—drove me to start of trail and never complained when it took awhile to find.

Everything was fine—clean, comfortable, basic but I was hiking The Kerry Way and it’s a bit far from the trail head—I imagine great location for some…

Excellent value for a private room with a bathroom shared with only one other room. Excellent location for the nearby ferry to Valentia Island and also for the nearby town of Caherciveen for shops, pubs and bus service. Very friendly hosts. Will be looking forward to staying there again if visiting in the coming year.

The only thing missing from the overall excellent level of accommodation and service was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities due to safety concerns by the host due to a mishap with a previous guest. There was also no breakfast provided which might concern those wanting something to eat first thing in the morning. However the hosts were very happy for me to bring a takeaway meal back the night before and even provided me with a plate and cutlery to eat it. I wasnt too bothered with lack of breakfast as I had a folding bike with me and was able to ride into town in minutes after checking out to get some breakfast from the excellent Lazy Cat Cafe.

I had a lovely stay at the Atlantic View. The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean with a lovely view of the Atlantic. Gary was awesome! We had coffee in the morning and then he drove me to the start of the Kerry way which cut about eight kilometers off my already very big day..

It would be great to have a table with Kettle tea, coffee and milk in the room so that you didn't have to intrude on the kitchen and living area. If not, these areas could do with a spruce up.

2 beds and a nice scenic view out window. Host arrived the next day and was warm and welcoming.

The substitute host was not warm when we could not find the location due to no signage in front of the house as we had a late arrival. We were sent a picture of house and house number which we could see on the front of the house. Other accommodations we have had in Ireland had signs in front of house so we were expecting to find it more easily. Also walls were thin as our voices carried through the walls which disturbed other guests. A table by each bed would have been helpful. Shower had a very small entrance but owner said he was going to replace for a larger shower.

Wij waren er tijdens de hittegolf in 2026, en zoals de meeste Ierse verblijven was er ook hier geen airco; het was een beetje warm op onze kamer.

Located near the point restaurant which was perfect for us! And only a 15 min drive to Waterville golf course

Well priced, comfy room that's close to Portmagee where boat tours depart. Gary was very pleasant to chat to and was kind enough to provide an early breakfast before I headed of to Portmagee for a Skellig Island boat tour.

A very pleasant stay, excellent, peaceful location. Situated close to the town of Cahersiveen & the ferry over to Valentia Island. Nice walks along country roads. The host Gary was most kind, always so helpful & attentive. Has a wealth of knowledge of the area & provided great advice on places to visit.

Perfect for 1 night stay if you are doing Skellig Michael tour next day and don’t wanna be ripped off by Portmagee prices. Beautiful location with ocean and mountains views. Host was friendly and property was clean.

Single bed I got was way too short for me. My legs were off rhe bed (I’m 191 cm tall). Room was tiny and basic. No mirror in the room, no wardrobe, nothing. I feel I got the worst room in this property as on the pictures I can see better rooms. Shower is too small, especially if you are tall person. Generally I got a feeling of suffication in the room and bathroom as there is almost no space to move around.

Doreen made me feel exceptionally welcome. I had a wonderful cosy stay at their accommodation. She and her husband gave excellent recommendations for local beaches. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby.

No sign .gave arrival time no answer at door..no response to phone calls while I sat outside..then abusive messages from Gary.

I didn't stay as couldn't get into accomadation..gave up trying after 30 mins of ringing and messaging only to receive insulting messages. This man should never be in this business..his rude and demeaning..Never experienced such dreadful customer service.

Not much to like! I stayed in 8 places for this Europe trip, this stood out!

There’s no breakfast! The shower did not have hot water, the best l would say it felt like lukewarm and the shower drain hole was barely draining. My room even though faced a beautiful view of the Atlantic however was cold. A new heater still wrapped in plastic sat in the room tells me it needed to be installed. The hosts initially said a family matter prevented them from meeting me for check-in. After l did a self checkout the host informed me the family matter apparently didn’t materialized. Regardless, l saw a car driven by the affected family member did a u turn in front of the house before l checked out. Got it, l would be too selfless to trouble the hosts about the shower and room conditions if they had to deal with a family matter of medical urgency!

Ihr habt eine tolle Unterkunft, habt nette Gespräche mit mir geführt und habt mir tolle Tipps für meinen Aufenthalt in Irland gegeben. Unterkunft ist nett und erfüllt seinen Zweck. Die Lage ist herausragend.

Rest des Hauses ist nicht sonderlich ordentlich. Zimmer sind sehr klein.

Good host located close to Ferry to Valentia

Friendliness and local tips for beaches. Swimming is just so good in Ireland's west coast. Gladly come back one day. Great for a short stay when you need a bed to stay overnight.

Only a short walk from Cahersiveen with brilliant views of the coastline. Bedrooms and beds were very comfortable and the hosts were incredibly welcoming.

Because I was under pressure to catch a bus, Gary cooked me a super breakfast ( free) and then drove me to the bus. I was so grateful for his kindness and great food! Bed was really comfy. Local information was supplied re restaurants and walks. Great stay.

Very pleasant hosts! They offered lots of great suggestions for places to visit both locally and throughout the rest of Ireland. They also provided a secure spot to store my bike overnight which was great!

Very friendly hosts with lots of local tips who were so keen to ensure I slept well that they put a hot-water bottle in the bed. My upstairs room had a view across green farmland to the sea.

I couldn't get hot water in the bathroom basin but maybe I should have run it for longer (from Greece, I don't like wasting water - something Ireland is not so short of!)

Felt like I was at home from.start to finish. Very lovely hosts doreen and Gary. Will definitely stay again and recommend it to others so they can have just as an amazing experience as I did.

Location. Hospitality and the bed was the best sleep I had in a long time .

Everything I needed for a rest. I got 12 uninterrupted hours of sleep after a busy first few days in Ireland.

Cold (Travelled in October), no heat in the guest room. The hosts share the house with you so I was concerned about bothering them.

I was very satisfied with my stay – the accommodation exceeded my expectations. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming. Right after my arrival, he gave me great tips on what to visit nearby and even prepared a leaflet with local attractions. He knows the area very well and was happy to help with anything I asked. The room was cozy, and the small bathroom was completely sufficient. It was easy to arrange both check-in and check-out times, and the communication was smooth and very friendly. I truly felt like staying at my grandparents’ house – warm, homely, and full of care. 🥰 Thank you for everything Gary, I really enjoy my stay here.

Sono stato ricevuto dalla signora molto accogliente e gentile anche se il mio inglese non era buono.Ho parcheggiato la moto dentro la proprietà.Camera bella ,pulita,e un bagno vicino in comune tutto tenuto bene. Una pace e un silenzio per tutta la notte e al mio risveglio il mare dalla finestra che spettacolo!

Extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful. Answered the door half dressed. I had corresponded with the host saying that we might need to swap and add guests to which he had agreed. He had not explained that the name on the booking would have to be changed and insisted the guest left the house and then locked the door while we worked out how to do this. No key available for the week as the door was left unlocked. Other guests noisy and we checked out a day early. When I complained by message Gary sent a very hostile response and made unpleasant comments related to people with 'special needs.'

This was a most enjoyable stay. Our host,Gary,was very friendly and knowledgeable,gave us great tips for restaurants, where to go etc. Lovely,comfortable rooms. Would definitely strongly recommend.

From the few minutes I stayed, I could see that the view from the window was gorgeous.

Rated 8 because felt bad lowering the rating. If you are not easily scared, it may be worth booking here, because it's cheap and a beautiful area and from recent reviews, it seems you have a fair chance to get there on a good day. I was just one of the unlucky ones so had to leave. Waiting with interest to see what creative dark tale gets told about me in the comment.

The host made me feel very comfortable, and even like I am at home. The room was cozy and the bed made me sleep great. Great view from the window. Around 20 minutes to the town centre, around 5 minutes by bike.

WiFi would be nice to have! :)

Nous avons été traités comme des voleurs ! La propriétaire nous a même envoyé la police car elle disait qu’on avait un ado dans la chambre , qu’il faisait des allers retours … alors que nous étions 4 et le plus jeune avait 50 ans ! La police c’est excusée et n’avait pas l’air étonné d’être appelé dans ce bed and breakfast pour rien . Bref nous nous sommes pas senti à l’aise . D’ailleurs tout ça c’est fait sans jamais nous consulter … bref la pire expérience booking sur des centaines !

There is no such a thing!

This was the perfect base to explore the Kerry and Dingle peninsulas over a few days. It was comfortable and cosy, and Gary's recommendations for places to eat were all spot on.

man wohnt mit in dem haus der vermieter, was sich aus den angaben von booking.com nicht erschließt. auch ansonsten: es war gruselig! - schmuddelig, schimmelig (es roch unfassbar eklig!) ungepflegt, uncharmant - das sog. GEMEINschaftsbad (hatten wir übersehen; unser fehler) ist ein wc mit einer relativ ollen dusche und einer reinigungsmittelgalerie samt allgegenwärtigem pömpel, - keine möglichkeit, dass zimmer abzuschließen!!! zu allem überfluss gehen die türen nicht richtig zu; es klappert, - keine verdunkelung, somit auch kein hitzeschutz, - kein schrank, kein spiegel, kein wasserkocher, kein müllbehältnis, kein komfort - wo ist die tolle terrasse und der zugang zum privatstrand? - wir waren unglaublich entsetzt und enttäuscht! - keine/kaum möglichkeit, mahlzeiten vor ort einzunehmen… - die reihe von no-gos ließe sich ohne schwierigkeiten fortsetzen

Der Hausbesitzer war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und mit vielen Informationen über Kerry und Essensempfehlungen ausgestattet. Die Gegend, so wie die Kleinstadt sind sehr schön.

Sehr netter Gastgeber. Es gab nette Gespräche und sehr viele gute Tipps für Aktivitäten und Restaurants. Gary hat mich mehrfach in den Ort oder auch zum Hafen gefahren und morgens gab es einen netten Plausch mit Kaffee! Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Location was brilliant, very convenient after getting off the passenger ferry and easy to get into town. Great recommendations from host on where to eat and drink in Cahersiveen.

A strange foldout board instead of curtains was a bit odd but not a problem for me as the window faces west so I slept well. Shower head bracket was at a crazy angle so I held it instead. Still great value for money despite these quirks!
