Reviewed Aug 20, 2026The host - Gerard - was excellent! He gave us lots of useful advice about things to do & places to see in the local area. The apartment also had superb facilities: bathroom, bedroom & kitchen/living space.
The only downside was the steep stairs up to the apartment although Gerard carried our bags both up & downstairs which helped a lot.

De trappen zijn glad. Gelukkig waren er prima sokken met noppen, maar die zijn ook echt noodzakelijk. Horren in de slaapkamer zouden niet overbodig zijn.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Geräumiges modernes und freundlich gestaltetes Apartment in historischem Ambiente direkt am Beginn der Fußgängerzone mit herrlichem Ausblick ins Grüne. Zugang zu einer Terrasse. Gratis Parkplatz ein paar Gehminuten durch Grün. Direkt beim Apartment nachts gratis parken, tagsüber gegen Gebühr. Gastgeber sehr nett, hilfsbereit, Koffer werden bereitwillig hinauf getragen. Alles blitzsauber, empfehlenswert.
Die schmalen, steilen Stiegen sind eine Herausforderung - trotz Geländer. Nicht geeignet für Kleinkinder und Personen, die nicht trittsicher sind

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026De accommodatie betreft de bovenverdieping van een woning en ligt op een gunstige locatie, dicht bij het stadscentrum en de uitvalswegen, waardoor zowel de stad als de omgeving gemakkelijk te verkennen zijn. We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen en kregen direct een korte uitleg over de stad en de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden. Hoewel er een flink aantal trappen naar de accommodatie leidt, werden we vriendelijk geholpen met onze bagage, wat erg werd gewaardeerd. De accommodatie was erg netjes, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien.
Vanwege de extreme warmte had de eigenaar zijn best gedaan om de kamers zo koel mogelijk te houden. Een airco ontbreekt echter, en tijdens warme dagen is dat wel een gemis, zeker omdat de kamers zich op de bovenste verdieping bevinden. Desondanks hebben we een zeer prettig verblijf gehad.

Reviewed May 11, 2026Na een vermoeiende dag was het heerlijk toeven bij Vince. Heel soepel contact met Gerard bij aankomst en vertrek, erg gezellig. Super schoon, alles wat je nodig hebt en meer. Er is maar 1 verbeterpunt (voor onszelf).... we hadden langer moeten boeken. 😀

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026Prachtig appartement echter de eerlijkheid gebiedt mij te zeggen dat ik niet had verwacht dat we drie trappen op moesten lopen om bij het mooie appartement te komen. Vanwege een longziekte kan ik heel slecht traplopen en dat waren er 2 teveel! Echter zoals gezegd is het appartement ons heel goed bevallen en de gastheer was erg vriendelijk en heeft onze tassen naar boven gebracht en bij het weggaan heeft hjij ons ook geholpen.

The only thing to consider is that there are steep steps to the apartment. It was fine for us though.

De trappen naar boven zijn dus ook zoals ze waren in een 19e eeuws huis

Reviewed Jun 6, 2025The host was super friendly and informative, The apartment was very clean and in the town centre. The parking was good and very close by. However we only found it after the host told us where it was. Perhaps a slightly more detailed explanation in the description would be useful. The cooking facilities were good. The neighbourhood was quiet. There was a nice view from the windows.
There were a lot of stairs. Then again we are both in our late 60's so this shouldn't be an issue for younger people. Our host helped with our luggage which helped.

Reviewed May 14, 2025We loved the location- very close to the centre of old Culemborg and easy to find. We loved the apartment which is in a beautifu, historical l Dutch townhouse. The apartment had everything we needed and more, plus a beautiful view from the window and the terrace. Gerald was very helpful and told us about the town of Culemborg itself. We wished we were staying for longer than one night!
The traditional Dutch stairs were quite steep and a totally new experience! But these will form part of my memories of the Netherlands - a real insight into Dutch architecture in historical buildings.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2024Gerry, the host, was amazining. He helped us with geting our luggage up 3 flights of steep stairs. He spent time telling us about the local history, attractions and facilities of his town. On the morning of departure he helped us again with our luggage. Gerry went out his way to make our stay the best it could be.
No utensils for the new non stick cookware. All were metal apart from one very small platic spoon.

Reviewed Nov 28, 2023My nephew who lives in Culemborg said that the bnb was on the nicest street in Culemborg. The apartment overlooks the moat of the old castle. The decor is so clean and simple. We loved it and had everything we needed :)
