Great place to stay for a night. Room was big, en-suite bathroom with a lovely hot shower, a kettle (and decent size cups), a big TV, desk and mini fridge (very useful). Modern room, bathroom slightly more dated, but everything was great for me and I was very comfortable. Everything was a good standard. Staff very polite and welcoming.

Annoyingly got woken up at 2am with people coming in drunk, very noisy, but not the fault of Isabella Rooms, except walls thin and doors unlocked and locked with a chubb key so quite noisy. Shame the adjoining restaurant wasn't open (or at least the info pack in the room said it was only open for breakfast and lunch).

The property was located in a nice and quiet location just the way I like it

The serenity and the check in process was seamless and easy. However there was no towel provided, I’m sure this was an oversight. Overall the accommodation was very good.

I needed a room last minute after working in Southend and needed to be local and extra day. It was late into the evening finding a room and I was booked in and in my room within the hour. Great welcome on arrival and the bed was very comfortable, fresh towels, powerful hot shower and clean room. Very quiet location for a good sleep too.

It was convenient for where we needed to get to. Both rooms were together, which is good for a family. It was easy to check in. It was in a quiet location.

Das Zimmer war schmutzig, Spinnweben an der Lampe und in allen Ecken, insekten überall, Fleck auf dem Bettlaken, das Bett war sehr klein für zwei Personen. Die Lüftung war so laut, dass man sie nicht in der Nacht anlassen konnte...im Zimmer waren 30°C.j Die Treppe zum Badezimmer war alt und schmutzig, das Wasser lief an der Duschwand herunter und bildete einen ekeligen Rand. Alt ist kein Problem, aber Schmutz darf einfach nicht sein!

Pin Box Key entry needs replacing as digits to small and close together, I was lucky someone came out, otherwise I would not of got into the property.

Easy check in process, with self check in. Lots of parking. No issues with the room at all. Good spacious bathroom and nice shower. The rom was what we expected and overall happy with the stay.

One of the blinds was broken but I was able to make sure it was closed enough not to see into the room when I was getting changed.

Nobody there and the rooms not like on the pictures. Very small rooms and very hot room. Ryan air of hotels!

Loved in room fridge, and plates and utensils provided. Lots of parking and could sit outside. Eddie's taxis were great.

Fan was not effectual in heat. Restaurant shut not open for dinner or breakfast. Disturbed night as people/guests coming and going.

The room is in bad decorative order and very dirty. The bathroom was awful, dark staining in the toilet. Old urine stains around the bottom half of the toilet. The shower was dirty and lots of mould. The fan that fairly worked blew out lumps if dust and dirt. The room was 33 degrees.

The stairs were very dirty The toilet in the bathroom was ill-fitted The cot we requested was not put in our room Staff expected me, carrying a 4 month old, and my sister, 5 months pregnant, to carry the cot up to our room and put it up ourselves when we arrived after a long journey at 2am. A selling point was the restaurant next door, but it was closed the entire time we were there. There was even a couple who were very confused as they’d made a reservation and it was closed when they arrived.

We know the location as of old, so it was up to our expectations

There was a strong smell of fresh cigarette smoke in the hallway outside our bedroom- perhaps the windows or door weren’t tight at the time. The smell remained strong most of the night, but the owner explained it can’t have been coming from a bedroom.

Great Location, easy to park, very quiet, comfy beds, tea & coffee in room, large TV, nice clean bedding & towels. The family room has a bath with shower over, good water pressure. Fridge in room.

I had seen some reviews about cleanliness, but chose to ignore as lots of good reviews. However I agree it is this that lets it down. The stairs up to the room were quite dirty and in the room there were cobwebs handing down in front of the window and squatted flies on the ceiling, and a little dusty in the building. But the bedding and bathroom were very clean and I guess this is what counts. It would be great if everywhere was a little cleaner, we would have stayed again if it had been, but it has put us off. If you’re not worried about it being spotless everything else is great and would have then given it a score of 8

The place was not clean at all, in the time I stayed there no cleaners showed up. I had to complain to a noisy occupant upstairs one night for playing really loud music which of course was not fault of the venue.

Everything, I left a day early it was that bad.

Toilet down a flight of stairs, walls paper thin, first night had to stuff tissue in my ears to sleep, no front desk, second night the only staff member was living beneath my room shouting on the phone, on loudspeaker, till 1am. I had a 3 night stay and I left on the second.

The accommodation was great for a weekend stay. It was clean enough, the facilities provided were as stated, and the room was comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent, good choice and value for money. The proprietor was welcoming, pleasant and happy to deal with the only real issue that arose which was only I set of towels provided for a two occupancy room.

The age of the property means that certain issues made it not “excellent” .. for example the windows were old metal framed windows with some flaking paintwork and catches /stays which didn’t open /close properly. The fan provided was welcome (it was very hot when we stayed) but did not really cope with the heat in the room, and the windows made this slightly more of a problem. Also, the mirrors were placed too high in the bathroom, and not near a plug socket in the room, making hair drying more of an issue. In the main corridor areas there was dust on the stairs and skirting, although overall the impression was a clean and airy space.

Breakfast cost £12 pp and was ok (2 x croissants, juice, coffee- there is a fair choice). Room was clean and tea/ coffee making provided. En suite shower was clean. The price was low. I chose this hotel because it was near where we were going.

There was nobody around on arrival. There is a push button key safe to let yourself in which is virtually impossible to operate unless you know how many half turns to give the knob. We rang the owner who was unhelpful, rude and told me to “get my husband to do it”! (He couldn’t do it either). We were then told we’d have to wait (in 80 degrees of heat) until he arrived. We had no sense that he was making a special trip to help us. We finally opened the key safe and let ourselves in. The owner arrived some time later and we met him as we were leaving. The location is off a busy road so you need a car or cab to get to it. My 4G phone turned into 3G and we couldn’t get enough signal to call a cab except by walking round the grounds. We couldn’t receive calls in the building at all. There is a restaurant next door is not open for dinner but you can order a takeaway “in advance” but I don’t know how much in advance. It didn’t open until breakfast the next day.

All rooms were very well equipped and comfortable.

Unfortunately mybathroom was on a lower floor and I have a slight mobility problem.

The bed was comfy

Every time anyone in the building opened or shut doors it was very noisy, I got woken up 4 times before 7:00. I could hear my husband snore like he was laying next to me but he was in the room across the hall (due to being a family of 5 we had to book 2 rooms). It is noted as a bed and breakfast but you have to pay for breakfast (as far as I'm concerned if your paying extra for breakfast it is not classed as a bed and breakfast). It looked clean on the service but actually if you looked closer there was thick layer of dust on the skirting boards, on the lamp , on the desk ect! So who ever cleans it doesn't do a great job. You didn't see any member of staff at all so couldn't ask for more little pots of milk or sugar.

Had no option for breakfast as restaurant was closed on Mondays.

The shower was running cold must of the time when used🙁 And had to wash tea cups and Bowls as was not very clean 😐

Very good price, you get a bed and it works. The room was very clean. The bathroom being on another floor was also totally fine. Cheapest option by far, even with the added taxi cost.

The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The fan did not properly cool the room and it was uncomfortably hot. The fridge running inside a drawer caused a lot of excess heat, but even when unplugging it was still hot and the air was not very good. The walls were very thin but it was quiet at night. I did not sleep well unfortunately.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, only tiny reservation being it’s slightly off the beaten track ( obviously nothing can be done about that ) we would happily and highly recommend, great value

Access to the building and my room even if anybody was present. Yes, bathroom is in the hallway but in my room was at least a sink so you can brush your teeth etc comfortably in your room. Comfortable mattress. Room was clean (except floor under the bed - I dropped my marker down and it ended up underneath the bed otherwise I would never notice it and bed top cover decoration has some dirty marks on it but it's not a part of bedding you sleep in/under so I didn't really mind). There were enough lights, mugs, glasses even some cutlery set and plates, fridge, heating, and fan for summer days, small and big towels as well. Over all for that money I was happy. ENOUGH PARKING SPACES FOR EVERYONE

Room is a little tired, I believe the owner hasn't had the place long so will slowly refurb it. The window needs changing to double glazed and the shower needs updating.
