Just that you only have access into the accommodation through your bedroom door at night. I get the saftey feature but it is not nice to contact staff or owners after hours.

There was no restaurant and the access road to the property was quite challenging for our car. It required an SUV or 4x4 ideally.

This is a beautifully restored house with old school hotel charm. The staff were friendly, breakfast was delicious and the room was neat, clean and comfortable.

Everything about the room was excellent, except the thin, white curtains which made it impossible to have a late sleep. Perhaps adding blackout curtains or a blind would be an option which would maintain the look of the room and keep the sunlight out.

We were so warmly welcomed by Willem and shown around the cottage, so fantastic that they offer dinner and breakfast so we decided to eat it. We were travelling with our 2 dogs so asked if our dinner could be brought to us. What an amazing meal! So tasty and beautifully presented, and they brought us sparkling wine all in, we felt so spoiled. The lodge is set in beautiful gardens with lush green lawns and is a stunning old building.

You need a car with good ground clearance. Thank goodness I brought my SUV and not my normal car. Room had light shine through door windows. No tea or coffee in the room

We stayed in a self- catering cottage with lovely wooden vintage furniture. It was quite rustic with sandstone finishes, but very attractive. The bed had such beautifully clean white linen on it that it looked new. When I looked at some of the other rooms, I noticed all the linen was so beautifully white. The breakfast coat a fair amount, but it was so worth it. My parents stayed at this venue years ago and said it had one of the best breakfasts they had ever eaten. We had the same experience - the meal was very flavourful and had a lot of variety. We tried everything because it all tasted so good. The dining room was beautifully set and it was well worth the extra money.

There was a bit of a slip up in that there was no soap, but this was remedied the next morning with profuse apologies. It would have been nice to have some emergency phone numbers available in the event of an emergency.

The property has a wonderful view and potential to be a wonderful place for a family stop over or get away.

The rooms are unmaintained the steps to get to the chalets are uneven and dangerous, there was no water so showering and flushing the toilet is impossible , and the animal's look undernourished.

The house is an old large house immaculately restored with exceptional attention to detail. Willem and Monique made us feel very welcome. Bringing fresh coffee to us in the morning was so welcome.

I liked the old restored house with high ceilings and old creaky floors but it’s not going to suit all people. The road up to the house is a little rough.

Accommodation is wonderful and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The buffet breakfast was absolutely worth it! And catered well for my vegetarian partner too!

Beautiful farm setting near the majestic mountains. Beautiful, rustic cottages. Great ambience. Comfortable beds. The family cottage felt so homely. Netflix available etc. Very friendly owner and staff. Delicious breakfast. Place to braai. So much more. Lovely place for a weekend stay over.

The best place in the area. Monique is the best. Secure, clean and amazing place to stay in.

The one shower is a bit problematic. Basins are very small and you cannot wash your face there.

So much floodlights on at night it feels like daytime in your room with curtains closed. Very warm during December with only fans available.

Loved the quaintess and spaciousness of our room. Loved the character of the place. Willem made sure we had all we needed and a welcomed ice cold bottle of water in 34 deg heat was just what we needed. 5 stars for him.😉

Everything about our stay here was amazing the owner and all the staff were very helpfull and we had an amazing breakfast aswell. They were very accommodating towards our little jack russell aswell. The room, location and everything else was amazing with beautifull mountains behind us. Definatley one of the best places I have ever stayed over at. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will be back.

Not having a tv in my room which forced to stay in the lounge compromising the comfort in my room.

The scenery and sunset was beautiful to see. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was welcoming and friendly.

Next time I would like to set up fire to braai and enjoy sunset

At some point we struggled with the gate the cell phone number provided on countless numbers we called it with no answer it kept ringing, so I not happy because at the time it was only us on the premises, so it makes one uncomfortable even if there was an emergency there was no one to get hold of so that really put my mood off, thank you

It’s a colonial house. Very nicely decorated. In the main house there is a family room which we didn’t stay in but it looks absolutely cosy. We stayed in the cottages next door which were also really nice with their own fire place. Los of cute cats on the property. Very yummy food for dinner and breakfast. Come with lots of appetite because there is more on the buffet than one can eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Clean and stylishly decorated.

This is an absolute gem of a spot in Zastron! The facilities are excellent, the staff is wonderful and the lodge itself is so comfortable and welcoming. I loved the way that the heritage of the house was still intact, whilst the facilities were modern. The space was spotlessly clean, the linen was great quality and the breakfast offered in the morning was fantastic.

Just the condition of the roads leading into Zastron. There's absolutely nothing the lodge could do about this though; just a point for future guests. Be patient and go slowly. Otherwise this spot is a 12/10!

The staff really made my parents feel welcome and let us use the Webber for braais. They let me visit with my parents during the day and afternoons during their stay.

Wonderful property with an amazing backdrop of the mountains. We were greeted on arrival and everything regarding the accommodation was shown and explained to us. The breakfast was fabulous and could put most highly stared hotels to shame.

Maybe prior knowledge that the roads leading to the property are not tared. There is also a challenge with the water supply and colour. The shower could possibly do with a bigger or second curtain.

Quiet and peaceful

Room a bit too rustic. Shower with a to small curtain and did not drain quick enough. Cleaning staff started cleaning while still need to shower and pack.

We stayed there one night on our way to Lesotho, and this is a great place to stop and relax. Monique is an excellent and caring host. The appartement was functional and furnished enough.
