The Riverhouse

I had been in an accident the morning before we stayed. After an ER visit and permission to travel, the hotel very generously moved our room to one closer to the lobby to eliminate steps and walking. The room had two beds, which I usually would never book, but it was needed and gratefully appreciated. Room was very nice and the setting is beautiful.

Judith and the staff were great, the food was excellent and the menu has enough options that a person can stay for weeks and have a different meal each day. There is a pair of mating crows that goes cabin to cabin and very intentionally wakes you in the morning, its quite adorable. They have a motorbike available that is more than capable of carrying two people at highway speeds which i used daily. This is a full service resort that allows you to stay without worry of food or ammenities, but if you decide to venture out you will find charming province stores run by friendly locals with cold beer and fuel for your moto.

The wifi often goes out for brief periods, but the area is remote by design and honestly this isnt the kind of place you book for its internet, its a nature resort, your phone is better spent taking pictures and videos not scrolling insta

Great location in the middle of the island (super quiet at night, sit back on the terrace and enjoy the sound of the birds and insects!), excellent food, clean room with an a/c unit that works well and is not directly facing the beds (a pet peeve of mine), hot shower, kind and helpful staff, very good communication. Perfect!

The main dining area has a beautiful view of the river, great for sunsets

Transfer fee to the airport was 850 PHP

Žádné ovoce, žádný signal a wifi nešla odpoledne a pak trosku šla večer

A szobából a nagy,fák kitakarják.

Sehr gutes frisch zubereitetes Essen, nettes Personal.

The quality of the room, one of the best isolated from the philipino usual night noise (dogs, coqs, etc) that we experienced. Excellent hot water shower and good facilities. the host welcome and support

alll went ok

I liked that it was close to the airport! The aircon worked really well and it had a really pretty view.

Na

Nothing

No wifi

Incredible views of the river and a lovely place for a quiet, relaxing stay (very different to Coron town). Large, clean rooms and a great balcony. Staff were helpful in organising airport transfers and the local boat trip for an hour to see fireflies and plankton. Very good base for the incredible dugong tours.

The dtaff was very kind and took care of us the whole staying.

The view, the serenity and the friendly staff! They also had good wine! Close to the airport.

The owner,Judith, is very welcoming and helpful in all situations. Don't be afraid to ask her anything. The kitchen staff were fantastic. It's a very peaceful location, away from hussle and bussle, overlooking the river. It's 15 minutes from the airport, so perfect for a few nights.

A car or motorbike is needed to see or do anything as nothing is in walking distance. But don't forget, Judith can help 😁

Beautiful accommodation with the most stunning view of the river. Staff were all lovely. Food was also lovely. I got a pick up from Coron and dropped off to the airport after in a lovely air conditioned car.

Only thing I would say is you cant pay be card. I was able to pay by revolut though which was great

Amazing!! So peaceful and beautiful. Judith is the best host! Thanks

Breakfast was included and the menu was pretty good. An excellent view from the restuarant, it's lovely and quiet, beautiful green scenery and fresh air. Juditha and her Mother are excellent hosts and very helpful.

It's a little out of the way but to be honest this can be a good thing. You can travel from here to the rest of the NE coast and the airport is only about 10 minutes away.

Sehr freundliches zuvorkommendes Personal.

When you come to Coron and the area this is the best location if you enjoy nature and want to avoid the city noise and pollution. Birds may knock on your window to say good morning. The lively host Judith is there to help with everything.

If you decide to take lunch there, the open restaurant can be tough at mid day with the heat and humidity by they provide fan which makes it tolerable.

It’s a 10/10 for us! This is our 2nd time visiting Riverhouse . I came last year with my husband and this time, we brought our 2 adult kids. The place is remote but Ms. Judith kindly organised a driver whenever we wanted to go somewhere. She also helped organising tours , and Riverhouse has the best cook! Rooms are spacious, comfortable and has jungle feel with all the birds coming around . There will be for sure, a 3rd visit in the future! Thank you for the warmest welcome.

Really nothing bad to say!

The host was an Angel we where received so well!

Beautiful place to be, but lots of bugs in the rooms, dinner was not great and there was a lot of shouting going on in the place. We were told the wifi would only work in the dinning are which we were fine with but it didnt even work there. It was a good place to be to go on. the Dugong trip though.

Everything

We stayed for one night in March 2024 and we had a lovely time, it was great to have peace and quiet after some busy days in el nido and coron. We took out a kayak in the day and it was one one the best spots as there was no one around and we got to see some great things. In the evening Judith organised for us to go out to see the fireflies and plankton, (we didn’t have high hopes for this as other places had offered this on other trips and there was nothing) this was a magical experience as again we were the only ones on that stretch of water and we saw both very clearly.

Only thing we missed was fishing, we had seen some mention it in previous reviews but we were unable to go out but we went on kayaks instead so not the end of the world

I wanted to say excellent BUT the trees were too tall where you do not see the view. And It was too hot coz the AC can't supply enough air according to the allocated room. They have provided extra fan, but no help since its blowing hot air. We did not really have a good rest, except of the tour and the food.

Same. But was thankful and grateful for the hospitality they have shown.

Everything. The rooms, the restaurant, The food.

Nothing

Very well managed and the view and Bird watching is amazing onyl the aircon is not able to reach in our bed but and there is no kittle to make a coffee but its an amazing place to stay Judith had put my daughter in a nice and easy access room as she had an injury on her put. Judith had lookafter us very well! A very well managed place. Judith is a very nice Person whonis willing to help if you need help.

The view and relaxing place away from busy town

If you want to switch off from the hustle and bustle, this place is great. The restaurant is great, the food fantastic and Judith was a lovely host. The local tours on offer are really good, well organized and very fairly priced.

It would have been nice to have wifi available in the room. Obviously, you can use data but it was patchy and unreliable. Wifi was only available in the restaurant.

There is an amazing view of the mangroves from up the hill where the restaurant is located

The restaurant is yummy and the view is stunning

I liked the food, the staff, the location

I thought the room was a little lackluster. it wasn’t as nice as in the picture. TV was small, bed was just okay

Food and location was really awesome. Views was amazing. Staff were the best of my trip in Palawan.

The quietness and the view

That we only had 1 night there 🙂

It's a perfect place to stay on Busuanga. You basically live in a jungle but with a great comfort. We had nice breakfasts included and the manager Judith helped us to organise Coron trip island hopping and scooter rental. You just need to bear in mind that it is pretty isolated place so getting from Coron town there takes around 50 min by tricicle. We stayed in Riverhouse as we wanted to do the dugong watching with the Dugong Dive Center situated nearby.

We were extremely taken care of which was needed after a long day of travel. We had a complimentary drink on arrival and all our bags were taken care of. The area is isolated but so so beautiful and peaceful. Lovely restaurant and rooms. We even had a lovely breakfast prepared on short notice for us to take in the morning for our early flight.

Nothing.

Very friendly staff. Large rooms. Quiet location. Simple and delicious vegetarian food (from menu).

Our stay at The Riverhouse Coron was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by Judith, the wonderful owner, and her team. The location itself is breathtaking—nestled in nature, offering stunning river and jungle views, far from the tourist crowds. One of the highlights of our stay was our authentic village experience. We had the incredible opportunity to join a local in their daily activities, from fishing in the traditional way to helping build a “bahay kubo” roof with palm leaves. It was a deeply enriching and humbling experience that allowed us to connect with the local culture in a way that few travelers get to. Another unforgettable moment was the private island hopping tour with Judith and June. Unlike the crowded tours in Coron town, this experience was intimate and personalized. We explored pristine islands, swam in crystal-clear waters, and enjoyed a delicious beachside lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients. Judith and June made the experience even more special with their stories, laughter, and deep knowledge of the area. To top it all off, we had a magical fireflies night tour with June. Drifting on a traditional banka along the river in the stillness of the night, surrounded by the glowing fireflies dancing among the mangroves, was truly a breathtaking experience. It felt like a scene from a fairytale—one that we will cherish forever. If you’re looking for an authentic, peaceful, and unique experience in Coron, The Riverhouse is the place to be. It’s not just a stay—it’s an adventure, a cultural immersion, and a chance to create memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be back!

Judith, the host is the best. I can only recommend the private boat tour that they have in offer. Food is delicious. If you’re looking for an alienated spot close to the nature, Riverhouse is a place to go.

The setting is stunning! I’m so glad I stayed here and took a car into town for Island Hopping, instead of staying in Coron. It was a really peaceful and Judith is just a darling! The students were sweet, just remember they’re in training and some patience may be required.

The isolation (while lovely) limits dining options, not to say there was anything wrong with the food. And for a solo traveller, the car transfer into town was a fair investment, but that was my problem, not theirs!

Lovely staff and manager

Judith is brilliant host. Great communication and lovely. She arranged a transfer and was on hand to greet us on arrival. The food was delicious. Views out onto the river lovely. Ideal location to be near the airport and to head up to Dimakaya. Would have rated 6.5 if there was an option.

Property tired and in need of some of work. Loud AC unit.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Judith was very nice and kind. Location is beautiful and tranquil.

The bed is comfortable and the room is clean.

Judith was accommodating and nice to us, but the way she treats her staff (trainees) within the earshot of guests is off-putting and left us feeling uncomfortable. Shouting at them, using derogatory words, and condescending tone INFRONT of guests is just too much. Food pricing is also too much for its quality

We had a great stay here, the place is stunning and the food is delicious! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff are so friendly and kind. (Thank you Judith!)

I wouldn’t stay here again and place is overgrown spoiling the view so pictures on here need updates

Nothing to do here, and limited to where you can eat as not much around here ,food I thought was expensive and your limited to eating there

Ate Bing makes everything happen for you, you just need to ask her! Please do the activities they offer you from the house. We did the island hopping, private island hopping and firefly watching. It was simply amazing and you really get value for your money :) Food is delicious and cooked from the scratch, my fav meal was the chicken curry.

If the rooms would be renovated this Hotel could easily be a top tier Hotel. Which it is already now.

Judith and the whole team were very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and the view was amazing. We enjoyed the calmness of this beautiful place very much!

Judith and her staff are amazing, so helpful and really kind. The hotel is absolutely quiet and in the middle of nowhere, but perfect for a quick stop to recharge after busy travel days. Our room was clean and spacious, a/c worked fine. Wi-fi is only available in the main area but we had stable reception anyway, so that was not a problem. Food was good, many choices also for vegetarians.

The rooms were a little outdated, could use some TLC like a touch of paint. But other than that amazing value for the money!

Calm, stunning environment, spacy rooms with terrasse, nice restaurant with very affordable prices

Be aware that it's very isolated

Was here on the north side to dive. There is a reason everyone mentions Judith when reviewing the place, she is lovely and genuinely loves connecting with her guests and making them feel welcome. Nothing is too big of an ask! Rooms are of a high standard for Coron, if you can get the room with a river view do it. AC works well and the rooms are spacious and beds super comfortable. WiFi is only in the lounge but that's fine. Food is really good, home cooked and they do special requests. All the food I asked for take away on dive trips was amazing and packed super well and reasonably priced too. Stay here even if you're not a diver and just want to experience a different side of Coron

Hot water was inconsistent, apparently a special way to get it working I only figured out late in the stay. Sometimes geckos can enter the room and they're quite loud!

The Place is absolutly stunning in the middle of the jungle near by the river. Judith and the Staff are super friendly, welcoming and help you to organize everything. We stayed 4 nights and i would come again for sure! The Organisation with the Dugong Dive Center and the Riverhouse was perfect, they picked us up in the Morning at the River and bring us back in the Evening! One of the most beautiful Stay I ever had. Thanks for Everything.

Nothing :-)

Perfect for spending a night before the flight to Manila, quiet place, change of scenery, no noise. Much more enjoyable than spending the night in Coron city and much closer to Coron airport.

nothing

The people are helpful and think along. They assist when necessary. Also the view is very nice and the rooms are big.

Because the location is very remote, the power and wifi shut down very often. Also, it is not easy to go somewhere else for activities/diner/drinks. I would have liked that, since the riverhouse has not too many options. Lastly, there is a weird smell in the rooms, I think from the airconditioning?

Judith and Bing were amazing and very helpful and hospitable. Helped organise an island hoping trip Curried crab was amazing and loved the porridge and fruit.

Noticed the room above us was vacant and would have appreciated being offered the opportunity to have an upgrade before checking in.

Everything is good, and the most thing I like here is the activity (fishing). Also, the woman who is charged for the house is hospitable, making everything go smoothly. We had a good time here. Will recommend here to who wants to be in isolated places when it comes to vacations.

We experienced blackouts three times during our stays. Because of that, we also didn’t have hot water.

Very private and quiet except for the birds singing

Power outages for shot periods of time

We loved the peace and quiet and the view was absolutely beautiful. It was a unique experience staying in the middle of the rainforest and river. The staff took care of arranging our tours and was absolutely wonderful at all times, the kindness and warmth the staff provided is unlike anywhere else in the world. The local firefly and island tours were definitely worth it. Packed lunches and towels were also thoughtfully provided. All the meals we had (whether Filipino or international dishes) were SUBERB! We always looked forward to breakfast. Highly recommend for all travelers to get the real experience of nature plus all the amenities of comfort and cleanliness.

Everything was perfect!

Large rooms which were cleaned daily! Also amazing fresh food at the restaurant and an ideal stop for Dugong watching and kayaking!

Nothing it was all lovely

Staff very welcoming and friendly and helped to arrange a firefly tour for 850 php and airport transfer for 500php - both for 2 persons. Room was a great size, bed was extremely comfortable.

Air conditioning was not great, but a fan was provided which helped. Main dinner was not amazing and there are not any other food options nearby which forces your hand to eat at the restaurant. In particular I wouldn't recommend the spag bowl, tasted like spicy BBQ sauce... Breakfast was good though. Location is great if you're going to do a River tour, but not much else nearby. Firefly and plankton tour a little underwhelming.

View to the river , silence ,many birds around, nice balcony, nice stuff

All okl

Great food Rooms were superb Great contrast to coron town Serene Dont miss this Saw dugong

Nothing

Amazing view. Greate food. Very well organized & going above and beyond to accommodate wishes and itinerary, and most importantly: our entire stay felt like coming home. Will definitely come back.

Just accept that WIFI is only accessible in the common areas.

Gentle, kind, and flexible people. Great view good meal dryer in the room The owner booked some tours even I will join them after checkout. The stuff could replace my breakfast into mango <3 Cozy and calm room.

There is no wifi in your room, only in main deck. and still slow. enjoy the nature, not smart phone!
