The location was great for us to spend a night as we navigated the north part of Cebu.

The resort is extremely run down and not up to international standards. The owners need to spend some money on the facilities.

Examples include: when taking a bath terrible sewage smell comes from the overflow drain, if you walk around to horse stables/petting zoo it looks drab and overgrown, bathroom towels are also quite aged / marked - we had so many mosquitoes and cockroaches in our room that come from the bathroom drains - lack of variety at the restaurant, some meals were unavailable or what was ordered didn’t taste that good

Wat een fantastische tijd hebben we gehad in Kandaya resort. We verbleven in een heerlijke ruime villa gelegen in een groene oase van verschillende bomen, planten en bloemen op korte afstand van het fijne strand en de zee. Het gehele complex is ruim opgezet dus privacy is ideaal. De villa was van alle gemakken voorzien met grote goed uitgeruste badkamer en zelfs een zitje voor de openslaande deuren zodat je van de tuin en uitzicht kon genieten. Het complex werd goed onderhouden. Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam : op het strand bij de watersport en ook in het restaurant was niets te veel voor hen. Kortom: we hadden geen betere vakantie kunnen wensen.

The location is amazing as being on the ocean - The views of the ocean from the sea side villas are excellent. The plunge pools are a nice touch.

The facilities are dated and maintenance has been neglected it appears for years, THIS PLACE IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL!!!! - The food is horrible. The staff is doing there best with limited funds to provide a solid experience but this facility needs millions in updating and a complete overhaul. IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE of your $ - The management tries to nickel and dime you for everything you can think of, You want a latte instead of a coffee thats extra. You want a friend to visit you thats an additional expense. You want to open a bottle of wine in your own room - The will charge you a cork fee just to have your own alcohol. The food is a total waste of $ - and over the top horrible. The owners need to sell it and allow a proper management team in to run the amazing location as a proper business and stop trying to suck every last cent from a decreasing number of guests who will never return once they see the facilities and experience the food.

I have stayed at this resort a few times now. The attention to room cleanlines is lacking. On more than one ocassion my partner and I have gotten eye infections after staying there. She developed an eye infection on our most recent stay 2 days ago. I developed one at our last stay 1.5 months ago. It makes you wonder whether the sheets and sink handles are cleaned properly. If this wasn't bad enough. My girlfriend was bitten by bed bugs on our most recent stay. I have proof and we showed them while there. Also I took pictures as well. The only thing they offered was some ointment and an allergy pill. Also I was disappointed with our recent stay since right after I paid and received my key card at check-in, the staff informed me there was no working internet at the property. My girlfriend and I went more than a day without working internet, so no TV as only streaming is available. No internet, couldn't even scan the restaurant menu bar code as that also requires internet. They have lost a frequent guest and the resort is already lacking of guests, so I guess customer service isn't important to them at all.

The beach was plagued with sea weed (tolerable since natural), but also litter, washed up by each high tide. A lot of effort was put into cleaning it up, but it was only ever the part near the pool and restaurant. Very few organised activities and excursions. Breakfast poor in range, coffee was dreadful.

This hotel was so relaxing. Not many guests were there and it seemed like we had the resort to ourselves. The Sea villa was a big room and the bathroom was lovely. Breakfast was always good and had a good variety. The pool was a good size and welcomed when it got hot. The staff were amazing and would always help out, giving lifts on the golf carts so we didn't have to walk too much. The spa was great and the massages were worth the money, felt so relaxed after it.

Room cleaning would come quite late in the day, so if we went out in the morning then sometimes the room would not have been done by the time we got back at around 4pm. The private pools need to be cleaned more often while in use as the leaves, flowers and pollen from the trees would always be in the pool.

Pool Villa was excellent. Room very nice! Beach very close, lots to do. Jetski was awesome. Restaurant was Excellent, good menu variety, kept busy for 2 days! Highly recommended

Food at restaurant was very good. Except the cheesecake, not real more like jello which is tasteless, price was too high for imitation cheesecake as well.

Le paysage , le confort avec la piscine et le personnel très à l écoute et tous très gentils !

L eau froide dans les douches, le manque d éclairage en général dans l hôtel pour se diriger la nuit. Le buffet du matin qui est assez moyen Difficile de se baigner avec le nombre impressionnant de méduses . L hôtel est proche d un karaoké nous avons eu des chansons du matin au soir .

The property was beautiful, pristine, great location, well designed, looked like a place like in an exotic island like Bali, staff was very helpful and attentive, great food, i loved my villa with a view of the ocean and my own pool, the prices was excellent, other resorts would charge 4 times as much, this is a great little secret hideaway in northern Cebu, i hope it doesn’t get too popular like boracay and Palawan, lots of things to do like jet skin, snorkeling, even island hopping. Recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet getaway but enjoy island living.

4 hours from Cebu could be a deterrent for some people who have no patients waiting in the car that long, but I didn’t mind it bec of where I was going to, 2 cockroaches made it to my bathroom but that is typical because of the environment, they manage to get in no matter what

The food service was very poor and the staff were to busy looking at there phones. Also the food did not come out together so being polite and waiting for others meant your food was cold and there was only 4 of us. Hats off to RED who was excellent though in the restaurant

Food is bad. ordered Lechon Macau, the skin was inedible (too tough), had to request it to be recooked to make it crispy. Danggit served for breakfast is the same "tough" not enough heat to make it crispy, to think this fish is served everyday.

What a beautiful resort. I travelled here with my Filipina wife and we loved every minute. We rented a beachfront villa with orivate pool - so lovely. The room was huge and just such a lovely place to sleep in. The restaurant and staff were excellent.

Such a lovely room boasted a lovely bathroom with huge bath tub BUT no hot water! The shower was fine but we couldn't fill the bath from its faucett. We did ask for help from the resort staff, but nothing was forthcoming. Hence, I resorted to boiling water in the electric kettle. Dozens of times to have a bit of a bath. But we didn't let this spoil the experience. We will be back.

The a/c could have been a little cooler. It seemed to be under powered

It offered a place to unwind. The ambience, with all the surrounding trees, was very relaxing. The service was exceptional, staff members were prompt and polite.

The food needs improvement, as some of the dishes taste bland. We had to ask for refill of the conditioner in the room on our first night, and as it was raining, we noticed rainwater leaking from one of the windows. The beach was not as inviting compared to other beach resorts we’ve been to.

The Beachfront Pool Villa was amazing! It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly!

The breakfast buffet offers very little healthy food, no muesli, no yoghurt and only artificial cheese. In general, the food is good.

The staff were welcoming and tended my family from their stay and even went above and beyond to make my Mum special on her birthday.

Seriously the breakfast was under standard for even be called a 2*.. no eggs no bacon no yogurt no pastry no nothing.. stepp up the food please, and seriously don't chase around people in the restaurant thanks. And btw I didn't find any nespresso machine in my room ether😔

The staff are extremely nice and we were looked after above and beyond and appreciate how willing they were to help wherever we needed it. The rooms where beautiful as was the pool and beach and a delicious menu at the restaurant once again great staff.

We loved our beachfront pool villa. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. We also had a room in the main building and it was nice and comfy as well. We ate at the restaurant and the food was decent as well as the drinks. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

This is not unique to Kandayan, but some free facilities were not maintained well, or sometimes weren't functional. Restaurant nice, but a little expensive.

Don’t know why the rating is only 8.9! This is a 10 resort!! As nice as I have stayed anywhere in the world & not ridiculous pricing. The room was wonderful & I REALLY appreciated the amenities like tea/teapot & water in our room. My gosh you had a shower cap & iron!! In room dining was great too!

I liked everything!

Kandaya does not live up to their marketing promotions anymore. It old and dirty. Unmaintained. Staff are family to the superiors but not to the guests. Very dissapointed. GM was kind and pleasant but it cannot replace my ruined trip to kandaya. Not worth the stay at all.

Booked a villa. It was too hot. Aircon cannot handle the big space. I couldnt sleep at all with the heat. Water in the pool was dirty. Toilet was dirty many dead insects. I booked kandaya to relax and enjoy the pool, scenery and ofcourse my room. But so dissapointed i was all sweaty another night would caused me a heat stroke literally.

Firstly. The staff are very kind and accommodating. Answering our questions politely, accurately, and fast. Furthermore, the employees are very social, all of them greet me whenever i pass by, they make sure guests are comfortable and are having a great time, which helps my stay at the resort more helpful and memorable. The facilities that I have experienced are the game room, horse riding, atv, mini-zoo, garden. Game room was kind of small but just right. One pingpong table, billiard hockey table 2 arcade machines, basketball arcade machine and foosball. 2 sides of the rooms were mirror walls which was beautiful. Atv tracks were very fun to experience as there were obstacles. Unfortunately we couldn't ride on the beach shore because it was high tide during that time. The staff on the horse riding was very friendly and always tried to make the experience not awkward which was very good. Their mini zoom was a sight to see as well as their cultivated garden as i could see they were tended very well from my observation. The staff there were very professional. Their kayak was free but couldn't experience as time was running out and it was too hot. The room we checked in called Adelfa was beautiful, very clean, and pleasing fragrance. The bathroom has own shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizer dispenser and everything in the bathroom was working well. Food was very delicious breakfast buffet. Pet friendly resort! Overall every view within the resort was very beautiful and a sight to see especially the rooms.

So the room we checked in was Adelfa. It was a tiny house with 3 bedrooms. There were some minor damages to the cabinet and the table beside the main entrance door probably due to termites or old furniture. The refrigerator had no flat shelf which was very confusing. We couldn't store anything properly inside. The most thing i didn't like was the dining table because the table top made of glass slides which was very dangerous. We kept on holding the table top still when we were eating there. Very concerning and very prone to accidents. The pool at night was dark but not too dark could very almost not see properly and could not take night photos that well. Pool lighting was unluckily under going maintenance during that time which we were not informed. They told me that they have been like that for months now but is already on the way for new lights from management. There was a small fly that flew out of my ordered sandwiches when it came so kind of concerning but it was still okay food. Table infront of the outdoor bar at the left side was sinking down. We could not place our food properly there. Required to downpayment 10k php but refundable after checkout for pet. Pool size felt lacking as there was a bigger space. Pool felt kind of slimy at night and you could see the amount of dirt through the lights.

The place is amazing, the staff are very fiendly and welcoming, the villa is amazing, food was good and the facilities are nice.

The price of the Garden Villa with Private Pool, in booking the price was 10,000 Pesos and on check out they charged us 13,000 Pesos, which is unfair and not as mentioned when I booked the villa via booking.com

Food could be a bit better, but it was alright.

Peace and quiet, ideal to relax with loads of activities on offer if the relaxation part gets too much. The beach bungalows with their own pool permit total seclusion. We were afraid of the food on offer having read bad critiques, but were impressed by the choice, variety and quality of what we were served. Shout out to Mark, who pampered us and served us exquisite cocktails He and the kitchen staff surprised us night after night. Hello kitchen, your fish dishes, to die for! Not only is there nothing to complain but hats off to them for the delicious experience we had. Cuisine is top notch. Water Sports Centre, you guys are awesome, thank you for the boat excursion, we had you and the boat all to ourselves and you went out of your way to make sure we had everything we wanted, saw everything and snorkeled everywhere and had such a memorable experience. Thank you too for sharing the coconut harvest with us and finding the paddle blade I lost.

There is nothing - we left with heavy hearts and would have loved to stay for an extra two weeks.

We would highly recommend anyone coming to El Nido to book at Domes and Dreams. The attention to guests and the willingness to help, advise and guide is incredible. The hosts and their staff try their utmost to make your stay amazing, and they succeed! Their availability is very, very good and since they are Philippino and speak fluent English, they can help with anything you want to do all over Philippines. TIP: Ask them where to watch the sunsets!

The Wi-Fi, while fine, could have been faster. That said, in the room it was good and at the dining area it was excellent. The door to the garden needs a little fastening, but this did not bother us.

Breakfast could have been better.had to call for room cleaning two times. Finally came 6 hours after my first call For the price paid all meals should have been included. Staff while friendly, could have been more attentive to the guests. For example, bar staff could have approached guests sitting by the pool if they wished to order something. The bar and resturant was right beside the pool. I HAD to go into the bar and ask for drinks and a snack, others had to as well. Management is responsible for ensuring this. Management is not doing this. Definitely not a 4.5 star resort. More interested in charging additional fees for resort amenities, which some of them should have been included in the price paid. There is no white sand or swimable Beach. So much potential. So much not there!

Fault lies with hotel management not their staff. Poor direction from management is preventing this resort from becoming a great destination for a vacation. Better value for money paid can be found elsewhere. All activities were an extra charge and could have been presented and marketed better to guests.

I like that the resort is not crowded, very clean, has a variety of facilities, amenities, and activities to offer. I also like that all of their staff are helpful, friendly, and presentable.

Only had one restaurant operational so food choices tend to be limited. Their buffet bfast menu also did not change much. It would be nice if they can change up the menu every other day at least.

The property is clean, the environment is peaceful and can totally relax. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Superb service. The food was good too.

Booking.com page mentions free airport shuttle. For avoidance of doubt, the hotel is 3-4 hours away from the airport. When I contacted the hotel about airport shuttle, they mentioned that they do not do airport shuttle. You can only do private airport transfer, dor which you end up paying PHP5,000 (one-way), which is quite a sum when you compare it to how much you pay for the room. Beach was underwhelming - muddy-ish.

Weliked the location including the area. All the people were very nice. The rooms are really, really nice.

We lived in a building, where fruit is landing in huge amounts in front of the walk to the only entrance - and we had to ask to get it removed. Apparently it is custom to have really, really load music and singing during dinner in the restaurants, so it is more a criticism of the culture than the actual hotel. The concept of playing music so load, that it is impossible to have a normal conversation with the people sitting right in front of you or right next to you i just completely ridicilous.

activity equipment outdated. gym equipment sticky and badly maintained. owners were visiting and our booked activities got cancelled without letting us know in advance due to owner meetings. breakfast was very bad and only 1 glass of juice per person - everything else was at an extra cost. wine was poor quality. doesn’t match 4-star expectations. no international restaurants nearby.
