Villa Escarceo vs Similar Hotels

Cozy, spacious, and well-equipped rooms with excellent amenities.

Rooms are mixed: some guests found the bed very comfortable while others found it overly firm. Issues noted include no minibar (only a refrigerator), short kettle cord, mosquitoes inside rooms, and limited in-room furniture (no proper table/chair in some rooms).

Generally comfortable rooms, but some reviews suggested the facilities are somewhat old.

Some concerns about the cleanliness of blankets and lack of washing between guests.

Generally clean: sheets and towels changed and rooms cleaned regularly in several reports; public areas and pool described as well kept. Some guests noted a dirty beachfront area and one report of no room cleaning for a stay, so cleanliness is mostly good but not flawless.

Some cleanliness issues were mentioned, such as dirty water in the pool and insufficient cleaning during the stay.

Good location close to the old dock, though some guests may find the steep driveway challenging.

Location is a standout: right by the water with excellent ocean and bay views, pool overlooks the sea, and short distances to white beach and local attractions. The beachfront area itself was described as dirty by one guest, but location and views remain a primary strength.

Mixed reviews about location with access issues but also noted pleasant environment.

Staff were super friendly, accommodating, and helpful throughout the stay.

Mixed service: staff described as helpful, polite and wonderful by multiple guests, but also inconsistent—some staff inattentive or on phones, inconsistent charging practices and occasional lack of follow-through (e.g., delays at checkout). Overall service leans positive but has notable reliability issues.

Staff is described as extremely friendly and attentive, providing excellent service.

Superb food at the restaurant but some confusion regarding pricing and discounts.

Breakfast described as tasty by some but 'ok' and inconsistent by others; staff gave complimentary items inconsistently (hot chocolate charged one day but not another). Limited dining area seating caused complaints when guests wanted to eat deliveries.

Positive remarks on the food quality and bar atmosphere.

Excellent amenities including WiFi, comfortable rooms, and additional appliances.

Strong amenities such as an infinity pool and well-kept public areas; however, some amenity shortcomings were noted (hot tub often cold, weak Wi‑Fi, safe operated by a physical key, limited dining seating). Overall amenities are good but with specific gaps.

Amenities were mentioned positively, including a lovely bar and good dining options.

Generally high value, although some pricing issues with food and drink were noted.

Perceived value is below average for some guests: one guest explicitly mentioned paying over 9k and being unhappy with extra charges and limitations (e.g., being asked to pay for brought-in food, inconsistent complimentary items). Good views and facilities help value but inconsistencies hurt it.

Most reviews suggest a good value for the quality of service and amenities provided.
