The bunk bedroom was very small, there isn't really enough room for that many beds.

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026Beautiful property with great views of valley and mountains. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is well appointed and has everything you need for self catering.
It was very chilly and we decided to left the heater on low to keep the cabin warm, but when we came back from our day trip, found that it was turned off and the cabin was very cold. The issue is that the heat pump is in the living area, and it takes a while to get to the rooms and bathroom.

Reviewed Mar 14, 2026Heerlijke rustige plek met mooi uitzicht. Lekker bed en een prima douche. Parkeren bij het huisje. Goede faciliteiten in het huisje zoals broodrooster, tosti apparaat, koelkast.
Houd er rekening mee dat in het dorpje niet veel voorzieningen zijn. Boodschappen zijn te verkrijgen bij het tankstation.

A lot of bumblebees around our cottage, they were cute but my mum and I got stung.

Reviewed Jan 6, 2026The place is a very quiet and clean little house with beautiful scenery and a lovely environment. The surrounding plants and garden are clearly well cared for, and both the small garden and the children’s play area are interesting and enjoyable. The host is extremely kind — they even folded our laundry and brought it back to us after washing, which felt truly warm and thoughtful.
One thing that could be improved is that the voltage may be a bit unstable — in the room I stayed in, the lights flickered at night, which felt a little unsettling, so I eventually turned them off. Also, there were quite a lot of sandflies around after sunset, and even briefly opening the door to take things in would let many of them inside. Although this is not the host’s fault, it would be even better if there were more insect-control facilities provided indoors.

Didn’t get to the restaurant as only one night there but looked great as well. Nearby walking track about 2k down the road and only a short drive to St Arnaud

Reviewed Dec 16, 2025הלן בעלת המקום היתה מקסימה וקבלת הפנים היתה חמה. כשנכנסנו הבקתה היתה נקיה ומריחה טוב. הבקתה גדולה, המטבח מאובזר בצורה יוצאת מן הכלל, המיטה נוחה, מקלחת נהדרת. שהינו בבקתה 2 לילות, וזה היה המקום הכי טוב שהיינו בו בניו זילנד עד כה.

Reviewed Dec 9, 2025Die Lage vom Tophouse ist einzigartig und wunderschön. Es gibt 4 Cottages hinter dem Haupthaus. Im ersten waren wir. Es war mit einer weiteren Unterkunft die am schönsten eingerichtete, sauberste und am besten ausgestattete Unterkunft auf unserer ganzen Reise! Es gab ein große Terasse mit wunderschönem Blick auf die umliegenden Berge. Parken kann man direkt neben dem Cottage. Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer mit Queensize Bett und ein weiteres Zimmer mit einem Hochbeet und einem Einzelbett daneben. Die Ausstattung der Küche mit u.a. Backofen und Eierbecher ist fantastisch. Wir wären gerne länger dort geblieben. Für Kinder gibt es ein Trampolin, Spielhäuschen und Reifenschaukel. Denkt jedoch an Insektenspray gegen die Sandflies, die es dort gibt. Wir durften abends auch etwas im kleinen Pub trinken und hatten dank der Wolkenlosen Nacht einen atemberaubenden Sternenhimmel. Sehr zu empfehlen! An den Nelson Lakes ist man übrigens mit einem Auto auch sehr schnell.

Helen and Clint were welcoming and friendly whilst giving us the space to just be. We recommend staying here to just chill out and relax.
