Kirche gegenüber läutet die ganze Nacht (zum Glück sind die Fenster neu und schallisoliert, man muss aber mit geschlossenem Fenster schlafen, ungünstig bei warmen Nächten), Vorhänge sind nicht lichtdicht und es gibt keine Fensterläden.

Lovely, super helpful, and friendly staff! Our room was spacious and clean. The restaurant downstairs is great for breakfast and dinner. Located in the center of the village but yet quiet.

Just note the nearby church that rings its bells every quarter of an hour, even into the evening an night. It has nothing to do with the accommodation itself but is part of the surroundings- still, it's good to be aware of. You do get used to it.

Anche se non abbiamo assaggiato le prelibatezze che c'erano per colazione in quanto alle 09:15 eravamo iscritti ad una corsa in salita, devo segnalare che le pietanze proposte si presentavano molto bene. Il caffè era buono.

The Gasthaus was extremely accomodating! I had groceries stored in the "public fridge" located om the floor, and wanted to return to get it after a hike on day of check out. The accomodation thought along and ensured this was possible despite closing for the rest of the day. Beautiful area and a hike to Seealpsee was on of the highlights of my holiday!

The people were so friendly. The food was amazing and beautiful! I would highly recommend this for the hospitality, food, and scenery!

The property is very typical, Swiss style, and it’s surrounded by mountains and green meadows. The rooms were very nice and the food at the restaurant was delicious.

The night we spent was particularly warm and the rooms do not have AC.

The location was perfect, you really felt away, the village is very small so the only noise was the church bells and the locals which was lovely. Dinner was outstanding with a lovely menu and wine card (pricy), breakfast was ok, very simple but good enough. Sitting on a patio as the sun goes down, with a nice glass of wine and listening to cow bells captures Switzerland perfectly.

The bedding was nice, but for Swiss standards it could be refreshed a bit, the bathrooms are also very dated, perfectly functional but it's an old place clearly.

Wonderful tradition guest house. Fantastic location close to the gondola. Breakfast onsite was delicious and plentiful.

We stayed in the family room (queen bed and two single beds). No air conditioning or fans but it did have large windows that could be opened to allow airflow through the room. No fridge or kettle in the room but available at the end of the corridor.

We loved our stay here! The location was fantastic for hiking and the staff was very welcoming. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and we also enjoyed dinner in the evening. Highly recommend!

Super freundlicher und sympathischer Betrieb. Wir mussten sehr früh auf unsere Tour. Die Wirtin hat uns trotzdem ein reichhaltiges Frühstück bereit gemacht. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis.

Perfekte Lage für unsere Wanderung "Vom See zum Berg". Schön eingerichtetes Zimmer mit grossem Balkon und sehr bequemer Matratze. Super leckeres Essen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Ich war durch und durch begeistert!

Wir gingen früh wandern. Trotzdem stand uns ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet in den frühen Morgenstunden bereit.

Freundliche Empfang. Sehr sauber. Frühstück lecker. Ich brauche nicht mehr. Dankeschön!

Die Lage für unser ZIel "Hoher Kasten" ist super; Das Personal sehr freundlich; Essen allgemein gut; Bus/Bahn in der Nähe, viele Wandermöglichkeiten

Frühstück war gut (Buffet); Abendessen nach Karte, alle Speisen waren sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und man konnte immer nachfragen bzgl. Tipps zu Wanderungen oder sonstigen Empfehlungen. Das RÖSSLI liegt zentral in Brülisau und zur Seilbahn "Hoher Kasten" sind es nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Gästekarte ermöglicht es einige Kosten für öffentliche Verkehrsmittel und Seilbahnen zu sparen. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub

Die Kirchturmuhr hat Nachts immer laut zu jeder Viertelstunde geschlagen. Ein Schlafen mit offenem Fenster war nicht möglich

Lage

Um 2245 wuede Rest am Samstag geschlossen…wollte noch was bestellen…. Homepage 2400…?!

Wir haben im Rössli eine freundliche, zuvorkommende, berg- und bahnnahe Unterkunft gefunden. Ruhige Dorfatmosphäre mit Möglichkeit zum kleinen Rundweg lokal oder Ausgangslage zur grossen Wanderung in den Alpstein. Wir hatten gemütliche Abende bei feinem Essen und das leckere Frühstück hat uns in den aktiven Tag mithineingetragen. Besten Dank!

Die Unterkunft war super. Zimmer, Personal einfach toll.

Die urige Atmosphäre, super nette Gastgeberin mit ihren Kindern, die mich aufs Zimmer begleitet haben. Sehr gut erzogen, höfflich und soooo süss . Wunderschönes Zimmer mir schönen Blick auf die Berge. Frühstückbuffet war überschaubar aber köstlich. Vermisse nur Spiegel/Rühreier und Speck, ansonsten war alles perfekt. Ich durfte mein Auto noch stehen lassen, weil ich am abreisetag noch zur Saxer Lücke wandern wollte.

ab 3 Übernachtungen gibt es Ferienkarte in diesem Gebiet mit der man viele Einrichtungen umsonst besuchen / Fahren kann ( Seilbahnen / Schwimmbad / ZuG / Käserei etc.. sehr freundliche Atmosphäre im Ort und Gasthaus

Zimmer war auf der Seite des Restaurants - war etwas laut.

The family running the hotel was very warm, welcoming and flexible. The food (dinner and breakfast) was simple but very good quality (cheese was exceptional :-) The room was simple and very clean.

Nothing really. It was all nice but I think it was rather expensive for a simple stay in a small country village

Shower head didn’t stay in place

Where do I begin? The room was spacious, clean, and felt incredibly homey. The view from the window was stunning, and we truly loved our 2-night stay. Parking is free and there was an extra fridge on the floor of our room where we could leave a few drinks. The women who worked here were amazing—so kind, helpful, and accommodating. It felt like a real community during meals, especially breakfast (which is included!). There were a lot of children playing and there was also a corner dedicated to children's toys! We also had dinner here, and they kindly made a small adjustment to one of the dishes for me. I’d highly recommend staying here, especially if you're planning to hike to Seealpsee like we did! Thank you to the wonderful staff for making our stay so comfortable.

It’s hard to say there was anything we didn’t like, as everything was lovely! If we had to mention something, just as a small suggestion, it might be helpful to add a note about the check-in procedure on the booking. Since there isn’t a traditional reception or lobby, it was a bit unclear when we arrived at 9pm. That said, a very kind lady greeted us and showed us to our room, which we really appreciated!

Staff were very friendly. Rooms very comfortable and the location is great, very close to the Hoher Kasten cable car.

The lighting in the bathroom is too dim.

It was very cute and offered us a great place to stay for the hikes we wanted to do.

It's a bummer the town doesn't really have a market or cafe but the resturant and little shop across the street worked out well.

We had a wonderful stay! Would definitely recommend this place :-)

Breakfast was ok, could have Been more selections.

We stayed at Rossli for 3 nights. Claudia, the owner of the hotel, was delightful. She was kind enough to check us into our room early. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day. There are not many restaurant choices in this particular area, so her hotel/restaurant seems to be a gathering spot every evening with guests and friends. The room was very comfortable, 4 twin beds that were very comfortable. A beautiful view over the hills. The hotel is a little ways away from the town of Appenzell but with the use of the Appenzell card which allows for free bus and many, many more treats is worthy. It's super close to all kinds of beautiful walking/hiking/cycling trails.

Just the church bells ringing! I recommend you wear ear plugs.

Super friendly. Very relaxed. Highly attentive and quick. It felt like being invited to a big family gathering. Something unique making it a memorable experience.

Value for money overall really very good! Special dinner nights feel oddly overpriced. However there are plenty of super tasty, very adequately priced alternatives on the menu.
