It was such a lovely peaceful stayover and the recommended oats was delicious with delicious coooked breakfast and view over the laden fruit trees and alpaca's on the front lawn.

Lovely location and a beautiful guest house with a whimsical feel that compliments the surroundings

Beautiful garden views, so private, very comfortable. Beautifully renovated cottages, tastefully furnished with a few alpacas delicately mowing the lawn. Lovely breakfast, make sure you have the oats!

The road leading to the property is a little rough, don’t trust Google maps, take the tar road, then turn off a bit closer to the cottages.

The cottages are well situated against a beautiful mountain backdrop in peaceful Lady Grey. We absolutely love the very clean and comfortable accommodations, however the awesome breakfast is worth the stay alone!

There isn’t much not to like here, perhaps if you have a fear of Alpacas..?

Comfrey Cottages is in a beautiful setting and the cottages are lovely. Grant and Gerda were gracious and kind hosts who have created a comfortable and homely space. Lady Grey is so much smaller than we expected and there was only one restaurant to speak of which just makes livability a little difficult. But it was peaceful and relaxing in its isolation.

Beautiful location, peaceful, quiet, lovely gardens, lovely cottages. Comfy bed, lovely shower, nice outdoor sunny spot for morning cup of tea looking at the mountains.

It was a little cold, there was a cold snap and it took a while to warm up, once it was warm it was super gorgeous. It was a little hard to find in the dark but also this added to the joy once arrived and got settled in.

A lovely cottage within the most beautiful garden with views of the mountains. The attention to detail and the comfort of the room is excellent. A little patio also added value. Our hosts served a delicious warm breakfast. Good security and cycle friendly. Excellent value for money. A longer stay to explore the environment is recommendable.

They're really comfy and clean cottages nestled under a red rock cliff right on the outskirts of a rather charming village. So glad that we drove on from Aliwal North and spent the night here instead. It's these slight detours that make a Roadtrip special. We awoke rested to hear the whooping of naughty baboons and admire the fab fluffy alpacas The breakfast was exceptional and featured the best oats with honey and whiskey my wife and I have ever known. Lovely hosts and a great stay all round.

Nothing really wrong at all. I would like to kidnap our hosts and keep them in our Hilux as breakfast chefs for our whole trip ! Oh and I'd like for the alpacas to want to cuddle me as much as I wanted to cuddle them !

Situated close to the mountain on a big plot gives you a sense of spaciousness. The room was well equiped which makes for a good nights rest. Coming from Lesotho going south this is an ideal stayover.
