Reviewed Jul 23, 2026Ganz, ganz freundliche Mitarbeiter. Super Frühstück, tolle Tips für Wanderungen, immer eine freundliche Unterhaltung am Rande. Auch das Abendessen sehr zu empfehlen. Mit Liebe gemacht. In der Unterkunft viel Unterhaltung von Minigolf, Tischtennis, Baden im Fjord..

Solo que un ventanal de la parte superior de la habitacion no tenia cortina, por lo que habia claridad a la hora de dormir. NO es que no me dejo dormir, pero si hubiera habido cortina, estaria mejor

Reviewed Jul 11, 2026This is a lovely quiet place. Jens is an absolutely friendly host. The evening meal (Just 220 kronen p.p.)was super (PMV) Patatos(boiled and Fried 5 choices of Meat and mixed Veggies and desert. The room is simple but good A.large shared living room with comfortable sofas and a big TV.. All in all a good place to stay the night.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026Sehr schöne Anlage direkt am Fjord. Super freundliche Mitarbeiter. Immer hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl dort, fast zur Familie gehörend. Sehr liebevoll zubereitetes Frühstück in Buffetform. Wir konnten zudem noch abends an einem sehr leckeren Buffet (gegen Bezahlung) teilnehmen. Die Anlage bietet alle Freizeit- und Spielmöglichkeieten. Demnächst wird am Strand noch Sand aufgeschüttet, sodass eine Beach entsteht. Es funktioniert alles und es ist alles sehr sauber. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Muy amables, llegamos en moto un poco tarde para la comida, y ya fuera de hora nos ofrecieron hamburguesas que por cierto estaban buenísimas. Las camas comodísimas y las almohadas también, la habitación amplia, con un pequeño saloncito. Buen desayuno.
La ducha un poco anticuada y la cortina se pega a al cuerpo todo el rato😁 .

Reviewed Jul 21, 2025It is not a place for a people that are travelling, but for those that stay on one place. No refrigerator, no electric kettle, and even drinking water you receive in the bottle. All what you eat and drink is via hotel kitchen. So to pay attention on this things while booking.

You are not allowed to drink the tap water. However, there is drinking bottled water in rooms and at the reception.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2024I totally agree this is a hidden gem! The people from Alværa Missionssenter are really really friendly! There was so much to play with for the kids, table tennis, volleybal, frisbee, soccer and we could use the fishing rods as well. After a lucky catch the super friendly and good cook Jens made fish cakes as an extra for dinner, so great! They picked us up form the ferry in Lavik and brought us back as well which was excellent service. And making a fire at the fjord in the evening was the cherry on the pie, thank you very much for such a lovely stay! P.S. The rooms are indeed very basic but they have all you need, really suitable for a stay with children as well!

Reviewed Jul 13, 2024Lovely little hidden pearl with plenty of activities for children. Dinner (250nok pp) and breakfast was home cooked and tasty. You can go fishing if you’d like by the fjord that is a mere 50 meters away. Rooms are decorated in the usual utilitarian Norwegian cabin style. Beds were very comfortable! The staff and other guests were all very friendly making this feel like visiting a hearty family! Cannot recommend this place enough (especially if you plan to take the ferry from Larvik to Flåm, or elsewhere). Note: We are not religious, just visited as we were passing by on our roadtrip.
