Location, beautiful gardens & friendly staff 👌
Wunderbarer Ort. Schlichte, aber schöne Zimmer. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Bad etwas sehr spartanisch
Peaceful location with nice walks and gardens and of course the monastery and museum. The breakfast and dinner were great with local produce and helpful staff.
Es war ein Erlebnis, wunderbar und idyllisch! Sehr nettes Personal!
Sehr gutes Restaurant. Frühstück auch gut. Gratis-Eintritt ins Museum.
Zimmer mit Grand-Lit: Das Bett ist nur 1,4 Meter breit. Kleines Zimmer. Keine Klima-Anlage, was ok ist.
Lieux splendides, jardins magnifiques.
Literie inconfortable.
The staff were very friendly, the surroundings were beautiful, and it was great for taking walks.
This was a place I had high expectations for, but it was highly disappointing. Despite being located in a remote countryside village rather than a bustling downtown, they still charged guests for parking. There was no air conditioning in the room, making it incredibly hot even in May.The room layout was also strangely different from the photos. The shower booth was too cramped for an adult to comfortably stand in, and the only amenity provided was a single shower gel. The toilet was about the size of an airplane restroom, and the sink was completely exposed, which was very inconvenient. In short, the shower booth, toilet, and sink were all separated into airplane-sized spaces. This layout was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing for the price.Furthermore, the open terrace window faced the inner courtyard restaurant, making it incredibly noisy due to daytime visitors. The window at the head of the bed faced the street, and unexpectedly heavy traffic passed by until early morning, creating a lot of noise. I came expecting a quiet getaway, but it was far too loud. The restaurant prices were also very high compared to the quality and taste of the food. After a disappointing lunch, I even had to cancel my dinner reservation. On the positive side, the surrounding environment was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly. I had hoped to visit again if this stay went well, but I don't think I will be returning.
Schöne Lage, vielseitiges Angebot an Aktivitäten, sehr gutes Essen

Einzigartig
Frühstück genial
This is a fantastic residence for anyone wishing to enjoy nature with a touch of history. The complex has impressive gardens and it was a pity that we couldn’t stay longer to explore all of them. The beds were comfortable and the room very convenient
I would really love a coffee maker in the room. Also finding the reception was a little tricky, some more clear signs would help
What a beautiful, peaceful, stylish place. Nice restaurant with great food, too. Can't get more local than with delicious 0 km dishes. On top of that very pet friendly. Inform the hotel in advance, though, when in four legged company.
Cleanliness, the garden, the museum, the staff are very friendly, accessibility from Zurich - and the bus stop is just outside the hotel area
For an overnight stay, it's fine for a relaxing day. Beyond that, there's nothing much to do in and around the area.
Kartause Ittingen is a truly special place. The old monastery site has a cluster of beautiful buildings, lovely grounds and is perched high on the valley side such that there are fantastic views all day long. I walked up the steep hillside vineyards one morning and it was magical. The breakfast and evening meals were healthy, with lots of variety and high quality. The room was minimalistic, with clean lines, gorgeous furnishings and beautiful materials (lots of natural wood). Also loved that they had a book on steps to reduce your environmental footprint in each room. Hats off, Kartause Ittingen!
It is a little pricey, but is good value for the incredible setting.
Very friendly and attentive staff, excellent location in the rolling Thurgau hills. The gurgling fountain on the courtyard. Dog-friendly. Most of all, the very tasty breakfast full of local high-quality produce!
For my taste, the mattress was a bit too soft.
The place far away from downtown noise
the room smelled a bit musty
The nature around is very nice, a lot of green and beautiful scents. I am sorry we didn't get to explore all the surroundings as we didn't have time. But the garden is a joy to the eye. The food was delicious and many of the ingredients were locally sourced. Very nice surprise this accomodation!
Not really that I didn't like, but the specific concept of the design furniture, while interesting and alternative, in my personal view it is not very practical.
Location, food, staff, shop, pub, restaurant, museum, wine, beer, hamburger
architecturally impressive and the garden is a dream
beautiful grounds and great service in the reception and restaurant
we hated our room. I understand it was a design room but to us it felt like a prison cell. So sorry but not to our taste at all. It felt spooky and weird for us.
The location is spectacular and it is a wonderful setting in an old abbey with gardens and orchards all around. Most of the food is sourced from their own fields, including their own delicious wine!
What an energetic place, waking up after a december night of snowfall.
Room temperature when arriving. It takes 1 hour before it is warming up. I would advice more the design rooms.
Beautiful location
Aircraft noise during the night Es
