L'accueil par Mary était exceptionnel, dans ce si bel endroit ! L'endroit est assez excentré mais la chambre est belle et propre (avec une vraie douche ! Un luxe en Indonésie!). Il est possible de faire du rafting dans la rivière en bas du logement, et Mary peut vous organiser le trekk au Bromo. C'est vraiment une parfaite pause de relaxation

Mr. Mary was very nice, gave us fruit from her garden as a welcome gift, she also was very helpful with finding contacts fot the activities in the area. The room was cosy, no AC, but you really don't need it. It was quite cold in malang compared to the rest of java. The shower had hot water and was comfortable

Posizione magica, vista da sogno su valle profonda con fiume e terrazzamenti verso i vulcani, ci si puo scendere comodamente a passeggiare, camera bella spaziosa confortevole e pulita con bagno comodo e doccia ben funzionante. La signora Mary vive accanto col marito molto gentile, capace e disponibile, cura uno splendido orto. Mary ci ha organizzato l'escursione da qui a Bromo che è stata incredibile (e il trasporto a Malang). Consigliatissimo

Un pò scomodo che la colazione e i pasti non sono disponibili ma ci si puo organizzare usando frigo e bollitore in autonomia e per i pasti cè un bel ristorante a 20 min a piedi (o anche raggiungibile con servizio Grab)

It’s hard to get a taxi in the town, so it’s not easy to go somewhere else

It was fantastic. If you can stay here, you are lucky🍀. The owner is such a good person and can help with everything if needed. You have a restaurant 20min walk or they also do delivery, which is very good. You are near the Mount Bromo to do the Jeep Tour. It is very clean and remote. 100% recommend. Everything was just perfect. Thank you Mary🙏🏽

We hebben afgelopen nacht bij Mountain Ecolodge geslapen en het was een geweldige ervaring. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen voelden we ons ontzettend welkom. Eigenaresse Mary is werkelijk fantastisch. Ze heeft echt alles voor ons geregeld en niets was haar te veel. Ze dacht met alles mee en deed er alles aan om ons verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken. We mochten zelfs gratis haar scooter lenen om naar een restaurant te rijden. Dat soort gastvrijheid kom je niet vaak tegen. De kamer is eenvoudig, maar van alle gemakken voorzien: een comfortabel bed, een fijne douche en alles was brandschoon. Precies wat je nodig hebt voor een ontspannen verblijf. De tuin en het uitzicht zijn werkelijk adembenemend. Het is een prachtige, rustige plek waar je helemaal tot jezelf kunt komen, midden in de natuur. Wij raden iedereen aan om hier minimaal twee nachten te verblijven. Zo heb je voldoende tijd om de prachtige omgeving te verkennen én heerlijk tot rust te komen na een bezoek aan de Bromo. Bedankt Mary voor je ongelooflijke gastvrijheid. We kijken met veel plezier terug op ons verblijf en komen graag nog eens terug!

We had a wonderful stay with Mary and Aris. We highly recommend this homestay. The location is stunning, with superb views of the mountains. At our request, Mary cooked us some excellent Indonesian dishes. Aris made a long journey to pick us up at Meru Betiri and drove us wherever we wanted to go during our stay, sharing his experience as a guide with us. We stayed for five nights and formed a close friendship with this lovely couple. Terima kasih banyak, Mary and Aris!!

Excellent location - stunning view, very clean room with all amenities provided that you require. Hosts Mr Aris and Mrs Mary were very helpful and friendly. They were able to organize Mount Bromo trip, hotel pick up and airport drop off.

I totally underestimated the distance to the recommended restaurant. But the restaurant does take away and brings certain menu's to the lodge.

A great location in the midst of nature, detached from others. Great view from the room and from the terrace, fresh air. Located between Malang and Bromo, so it is very convenient to go from the ecolodge to the Bromo tour. Scooters can be only rented on Malang, better to take minumun 120cc if you want to travel around, for example, to Sewu waterfall. Gojek works, but in the evening there maybe problems to get one, get a car in advance or ask the owner. The owners btw are very very cool and helpful! Thank you for helping us out!!!! Prepare warm clothes and socks.

Sometimes there is no water from the shower or you should wait for the hot water a while. Once there was hot water from facet only, not shower.

The location between Malang and Bromo was very peaceful and quite beautiful.The rooms ( we had the 2 rooms) were basic but certainly comfortable,clean and had a great shower.It came with a fridge and kettle -water, tea ,coffee and noodles were provided . A decent restaurant was a 20 min walk away. Be prepared to eat out or bring some food as you’re on your own for meals.We were there for 3 nights and brought some food and beverages with us. The townspeople were very welcoming and the kids were lovely. Mary ,the owner,was extremely helpful and arranged our Bromo trip and also transportation to Surabaya.

Everything was perfect! The owner helped us get a Bromo Tour. Also it was difficult finding a driver to transport us as we left but the owner dropped us at our next stay. Large bed, good shower and clean room. Just make sure you bring Some food and water as the nearest restaurant is a 22 minute walk.

The view was stunning. The room was super comfortable, clean, and spacious. Mary was kind and professional. She helped me book a Bromo tour and organise a driver back to Malang.

I think a little more information upfront in the property description about how to reach the place, the village itself (dining options, shops nearby etc.) would be useful for future guests.

Place is great but be aware that there is close to zero infrastructure. Organize your arrival and departure upfront. Also, bring your our own food, fruits and drinks.

Our host Mary was friendly and informative and assisted us with our transportation, and booking of tours/ hikes in the surrounding area. The room was very comfortable,nestled into a lovely garden setting with a view to Mt Semura from our warm sunrise verandah.

- Peaceful location at the end of the village above the river - Huge windows for air and light - Room had instant noodles which saved me from starving after my late night checkin

- There are four rooms in one building so each terrace is not quite private - The entrance from the road was not quite obvious so I drove to some veggie garden - The road to get there from the village from the Bromo side was a tough dirt path so I got some unexpected enduro training with my bike (if Google shows you two - take one further from Bromo!)

Mary is the perfect host and made us feel right at home. The room is very nice and new and has an amazing view. Mary and he husband did everything they could to make it a great trip and I would highly recommend!

Such a beautiful setting, Mountain Ecolodge was a perfect place to base myself for visiting Bromo. Mary the host is so kind and I really enjoyed my time here. Super peaceful and an amazing view of the landscape ❤️

We absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Everything was provided in the room including water, fan and drying rack. The surroundings are really stunning and peaceful. We slept so well here! The host is super friendly and helpful, she helped us organise a tour to Mount Bromo, which was also much cheaper than organising it from Malang.

If you're looking for a quiet room in the middle of nature and close (1 hour) to Gunung Bromo with the best hosts possible, book this guesthouse. Brand new, great beds, the best view from your room and patio ever, clean. The hosts are spuperfriendly. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night.

The owner was very kind and interesting. The bedroom was good and the bed was comfortable. Big plus for the view on the mountain! 😍

The only little bad point is that there are a lot of holes into the outside in the bedroom and in the bathroom. So we saw a lot of spiders and insects, as the accommodation is in the nature.

This is the biggest surprise of my Indonesia trip! This place located in a small town near Malang. It runs by a family and Mrs. Mary took 2 of her independent rooms as hotel. There is super nice mountain view and the whole atmosphere is sooo chill. The room is quite big. The host even gave us some passion fruits and papaya grown from their farm. It is not far from Mt. Bromo and Tumpak Sewu - both takes 1.5h to drive there. There are hardly any tourists in this small town and when we were walking to a restaurant, the people were so curious and greeting us friendly, the kids on the street waved to us and say hello. It was such an amazing experience! The sunset of with rice field view in the small town is also really really beautiful. There is also a good and modern restaurant 20 min walk from our stay and it is designed to see the sunset with a big balcony, the food is very nice too

There is no AC in the room so during daytime it can be a big hot. In the evening the temperature is totally fine in the room. The room is in the farm so you need to take your luggage to walk for 200m, car cannot drive directly to the room. It was not bad and we were ok with it.

Mary and Aris are such great host. The property is stunning and quiet. The room is so clean. They give you fresh fruits from their garden which is so nice. With a motorbike you can go to close restaurants. They helping us organize our trip. We were so lucky that Aris was free and drive us to waterfalls and Volcano he is the best guide I’ve travelled with. 100% recommended

Very nice stay! We felt home. Nice view. Good bathroom, hot water. Great big bed. Coffee/tea available. All very clean. No breakfast available since Mary works, but actually she offers! Because she brought so much fresh fruit! And on Sunday she was free and offered breakfast!!! Just truly amazing. Also on the day of check-in she prepared for us since we had a long night travel. Speaks English! Her man is a guide. It’s very clean! Totally recommend for a trip to escape tourism and enjoy nature!

It was amazing

The host were awesome! They offered as breakfast and organized us a very cool trip to the bromo volcano. One afternoon we went on a small hike with the host. You can find our hike here: https://www.komoot.de/tour/1261560317?ref=itd There are plenty of other possible hikes but mostly hard to find. The room was very clean and the view amazing.

The location is quite remote but the host helped us to find drivers.

The 4 stars comfort (brand new queen size bed and perfect shower /toilet). The view on the mountain in front of the lodge. The "garden" (terrass cultures) along the river (10mn walk down the lodge). Last but not least, the kindness of our host.

Be prepared for a remote location : there is only one restaurant in the village. Without scooter or taxi, you have to be prepared to enjoy the beautiful view.
