Venora Hiriketiya

We were really looking forward to going to Hiriketiya Beach, we were looking for a place to stay without any hustle and bustle and we found this place, it was more than we expected, they welcomed us warmly, gave us fruit drinks as soon as we arrived and were very friendly. We enjoyed the delicious Sri Lankan food for breakfast. Even though the owners were with us, they were very considerate and made sure not to disturb us at any time and asked about our needs. The room we were in was air conditioned and the bathroom had heating facilities. The beach is easily accessible by foot from this place. We really enjoyed the Hiriketiya Beach, and they were very willing to give us free coffee or tea with biscuits or cheese in the afternoon. The owner's little daughter, Tiley, was very sweet and welcoming. We look forward to coming to Hiriketiya again and staying at this place. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Extrem viele Moskitos. Stromversorgung nicht konstant. Mit dem Auto etwas schwer zu erreichen liegt etwas abgelegen und mit dem Auto schwierig zu erreichen über einen sehr schmalen Weg am Hang.

The accommodation is located on a quiet street, where you cannot hear the sounds of the road or music from restaurants in the evenings. The hosts are very hospitable and care about your comfort. There is a cozy veranda from where monkeys can sometimes be seen. This place is close to beaches and cafés, but it is very cozy and relaxing.

Ein nettes kleines Zimmer, mit einem einfachen Bad. Wer nicht so hohe Anforderungen an seine Unterkunft hat, wird hier sehr zu Frieden sein. Es gab einen netten privaten Außenbereich zum Frühstücken oder chillen. Frühstück lecker und nach Wünschen zu gestalten.

Zimmer war etwas feucht, was nicht unnormal für den Süden SriLankas ist.

A compact room, all you needed. Nice outdoor area.

Being a solo woman traveller I felt a bit isolated and didn’t feel comfortable walking home in the dark. There was also building work going on although a lot of places in Hiriketiya have building work around them

La habitación estaba limpia y el baño también, pero demasiado húmeda. El acceso al alojamiento no era muy fácil.

Very good family! Good location not far from the beach

Really cute homestay with a private patio/dining area which we loved. The hosts were very friendly and happily did our laundry for a good price. Excellent location being only a short walk to the beach, but very peaceful and quiet.

No AC, only a fan - this was fine for me but my partner did struggle with the heat which kept him up at night.

Tucked away, in a quiet road close to Hiriketiya Beach, this lovely, tiny, family run guest house is a real gem. Dileka & her family have created a friendly, comfortable room, with small private outside area. There’s no air con, but there’s a fan& barred window to open at night. Good mozzie net, tho saw v few! Good shower. Lovely Sri Lankan breakfast included & a fridge to use. Nearby (10 mins walk) are the beach side bars & there are a couple of great eating places nearby.( lemon grass & garlic cafe)

Very clean. The outdoor area is very private, you have it all to yourself, so it's a nice place to relax. You have a fridge so you can keep some drinks or food cold. The family was accommodating and made my breakfast early so I could surf. The food was very tasty. Location is a close walk to the beach.

The private patio is beautiful and tranquil.

While the location is a little way from the beach, it feels like you’re in the middle of the jungle.

The room was comfortable and clean and only a 10min walk from the beach! Breakfast was delicious every morning and the family was incredibly kind and accomodating. Would definitely recommend.

Room is very small. It doesn't have air-conditioning, just a fan on the wall which is inadequate due to the heat of the room. No hot water. Nowhere to store clothes.

To get to the homestay you have to walk up a hill, but tuktuk did manage to get up there. There is walking distance to both the beach and good restaurants. The room was modern and you have your own outsize area. But the room could get humid and there was not any good place to put your stuff on except from on the floor. The family is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very good.

Really nice room, everything was newly renovated so everything was in really nice conditions! Really clean bathroom and the room also comes with your own garden which was amazing! The staff was really helpful with everything from booking a taxi to everything you need! The breakfast was amazing she would ask you everyday what you want and you get so much food!

Really nice location in Hiriketiya surrounded by nature. The family hosting was lovely and the place was super peaceful. If we could plan it again, we would have stayed more!

Felt very looked after by our host. Different type of traditional Sri Lankan breakfast each day. Swept the outside area whilst we were out. Supported us to get a tuktuk on departure as the rain had caused a booking surge and online booking was difficult. Lots of roaming monkeys around and loads of fireflies make for a really authentic local experience. Facilities were great for the cost. Good sized fridge and plenty of seating outside. High quality mosquito net. Bed was really comfy. Power socket with an extension worked for our needs. Lovely coffee shops and restaurants to both the left and the right of the main road. The beach is not much further along.

Not clear from Google Maps that the accommodation is at the very top of a steep hill. Smaller Tuktuk struggled getting up with 2 people and a suitcase/bags, but some of the ones with bigger engines had no problems. Very difficult for a taxi or anything bigger to get up the hill due to the width of the road. Might be difficult for persons with more limited mobility to walk up the hill, and would be awkward if you had larger bags/suitcase. Had to move some things around to make space for bags in the room, so be mindful as there are lots of monkeys around the village so leaving stuff outside is not recommended by the host.

Best Homestay ever! The family is so friendly and the breakfast is amazing. We had every morning different and really delicious food. The room is small but very clean and comfortable and the terrace is the perfect place to relax. The accommodation is a bit outside, but very quiet and surrounded by nature (monkeys in the trees) and you can walk to Cafés, Restaurants and to the beach on a beautiful way in some minutes. We really would recommend to stay in this beautiful Homestay. Thank you for everything!

Hashan and his family were so nice, they were very attentive throughout our stay and went above and beyond to look after us. The breakfast every morning was great and varied most mornings. The bathroom was large and the shower was powerful. The room was good also. Located up a small hill but in a good location for the beaches and plenty of restaurants nearby. The private patio was also an added bonus.

The room could get very hot but our stay was during an exceptionally warm period. An extra fan, or a bigger one would have been useful.

The Best Accommodation we had in Sri Lanka after to weeks. Amazing good food. Easy Scooter Rental. Freindly family, welcome drink, nice location! 5Star Rating!

I loved my stay at Venora's so much that I extended my stay... The place is beautiful. The room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is modern and very big. You have an outside area just to yourself with its own fridge, which is great to keep your water nice and cool. In the morning you'll have a beautiful homemade breakfast that kept me full until dinnertime, it's such a wonderful experience to have a meal in the morning and see the monkeys up in the trees. The hosts are an absolute treasure and will make sure you have everything you need, I felt right at home . You're a short walk from Hiri beach and Dickwella is easily accessible. I absolutely recommend this place for an amazing experience in Hiriketiya.

Very clean comfortable room, with own private courtyard. Wonderful respectful hosts who do everything to ensure your stay is great. Lovely home cooked breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in Hiriketiya.
