I had a wonderful stay at Vrindavan Homestay, Munroe Island. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by the natural charm of the island. I truly loved the atmosphere, cleanliness, and the homely feeling the place offers. The hospitality was excellent, and the hosts were very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my stay was connecting with the host, who is equally passionate about travelling. It was a pleasure sharing my Everest Base Camp (EBC Trek) journey and exchanging travel experiences. I also got to know about his interests in properties and the passion he puts into maintaining this beautiful place. His dedication and attention to detail are clearly reflected in the way the property is managed. Vrindavan Homestay is a perfect place to relax, experience the local lifestyle, and enjoy the calm beauty of Munroe Island. The stay felt more like a home away from home rather than just accommodation. I would definitely recommend Vrindavan Homestay to anyone visiting Munroe Island and would love to come back again.

Honestly, there was nothing major that I disliked. The stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. If anything, the peaceful location means it is a little away from busy areas, but that is also what makes the place special for those looking for a calm and relaxing experience.

Everything was good

We had a really lovely stay at Vrindavan. We could only stay for one night unfortunately, but would love to have stayed longer. Anand and his family were so lovely and looked after us very well. They prepared a delicious dinner and breakfast for us with generous portion sizes. Anand also took us out in kayaks through the canals and on to the lake to see the sunset which was beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable and the place was located very close to the train station which made it easy to get to.

Everything was perfect, the room was very clean and bathroom smelling good. Everything was furnished : clean towelS, soap, water. Bed is comfortable and the rooms are very big Breakfast and dinner made by Ambiga are tasting amazing. Anand and his parents are very nice and hospitable They offer a bunch of activities and also respect personal space

1. Host arranged the boat tour which was really really nice. Really enjoyed the time - the driver of the boat was really kind and made lot of stops. Made sure we got pictures and were happy. 2. Clean , comfortable property - host is nice too 3. Munroe island has very limited activities (lot of water activities ofcourse) - its a place where you do nothing and rest.

1. Pictures of the property was very misleading. I don't know if its on me . Each of the room type does not have the specific picture of how it looks. Based on the pictures available - I assumed that all the cottages in the property is on the water. But thats not the case. I got the cottage which is right next to the host own house - while yes interior matches everything as listed - I booked the cottage looking at the pictures . It would be great if host adds the picture of the entire cottage to each of the photos to avoid the confusion 2. We had such trouble finding food for dinner - host itself told us that there are no nice restaurants in the area and we have to drive 10 km outside of the island to get basic dinner. Considering this is a place full of water - we would think the neighborhood has lot of seafood options -but i think these are the things you have to arrange with the host - if it was mentioned before, we would have planned it accordingly. Also we we not looking for dinner very late (at 7 PM). Later we saw there is a decent restaurant near by and I don't know why host would tell us otherwise. I wonder if all the guests eat at the guest house arranged by the host. 3. Breakfast - nice - but they ran out of food. Host was unaware that I am a booking.com genie member and gets the breakfast by default. So when I asked for breakfast in the morning , ofcourse he arranged it - but ran out of curry. They were indeed sorry about it.

Our trips to the Canal and backwaters organised by Anand was excellent. The breakfast and dinner prepared and served by his mother was very good.

Excellent Homestay. Anand and his family were all very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The sunset kayaking with Anand was absolutely awesome! They also provide bikes which you can use to explore the island. Would highly recommend as a super chill place to stay for a few nights and enjoy the tranquility of Munroe Island.

Only small thing that could improve it is having somewhere outdoor to eat.

Sehr nette und bemühte Familie, bei der wir uns wie Zuhause gefühlt haben. Als wir vom Bahnhof nicht wegkamen, wurden wir von der Familie sogar mit dem Auto abgeholt. Ursprünglich wollten wir nur 2 Nächte bleiben, waren hinterher aber doch 5 Nächte dort. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft, ruhig und absolut entspannend. Das Homestay liegt direkt am Backwater und auch die Kajaktour mit Anand war sehr schön

A great homestay! Anand is a good host and we had a great time kayaking with him as our guide! The backwaters were beautiful and so peaceful to be in. But the highlight was still to come, the food! I truly think that this was the best dinner I've had in South Asia so far. Anands mum was a great cook and whatever we had for dinner was exceptional. Location is also convenient as it's close to the train station.

There was some construction happening around the home stay and also in the general area. This could be due to the closeness of the rail station

Best homestay in Munroe Island! The location is just perfect, next to boat and kayak trips to the mangroves. And the rooms are really spectacular, especially our room with the glass windows and front porch. Perfect place to relax and disconnect. Anand and his family are amazing hosts and they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The dinner and breakfast they cooked for us was one of the best foods we have had in India!

Être niché au cœur de l’île Munroe, dans un cadre verdoyant, calme et d’une grande simplicité (pas d’énormes resorts dans les parages), ça n’a pas de prix. Mais cette chambre d’hôtes ajoute encore à la magie : Anand propose des sorties en canoë pour voir le coucher du soleil, organise un tour en pirogue au lever du soleil. Avec la musique des temples, les oiseaux, la vue sur le lac et les canaux… C’était incroyable. La maman d’Anand prépare des repas non épicés, très bons et copieux. J’ai adoré prendre le temps de me poser quelques jours ici, de dessiner sur la terrasse, d’aller prendre un cours de yoga à quelques minutes et de marcher, profiter, respirer tout simplement. Un grand merci.

La convivialite exceptionnelle d'Anand et de sa famille. La cuisine de sa maman, les activités proposées au départ de la maison, les repas avec les globe-trotters français. J'aurais voulu rester plus longtemps.

Rien du tout. Il faut juste dompter les moustiques avec les produits adéquats !

On a passé un séjour génialissime dans cet homestay à Munroe Island ! L’endroit est paisible, authentique, entouré par la beauté incroyable des backwaters… exactement ce qu’on venait chercher. Les chambres sont impeccables, super propres et confortables. On s’y sent tout de suite bien. Anand a largement contribué à rendre notre expérience inoubliable ! Toujours souriant, super sympa et franchement rigolo, il a le don de mettre à l’aise dès les premières minutes. En plus d’être adorable, il nous a prévu un tour en kayak au coucher du soleil puis un autre en canoë au lever du soleil le lendemain. Il nous a aussi réservé des scooters pour explorer l’île en mode liberté totale, clairement un énorme plus ! Toujours disponible, toujours réactif, toujours de bonne humeur... Anand fait tout pour que le séjour soit simple, fluide et surtout mémorable. Sa famille est tout aussi adorable. Ils nous ont préparé plusieurs petits-déjeuners et dîners délicieux, avec beaucoup de générosité et de gentillesse. Bref, tout était parfait du début à la fin. Un immense merci pour ces moments incroyables, on recommande sans la moindre hésitation ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Accueil génial, toute la famille est très accueillante et drôle. Repas parfaits, les meilleurs jusqu'à maintenant pour nous. La vie y est facile: scooter qui arrive tout seul, tour en bateau organisé par la famille, bons conseils, repas en commun avec les autres voyageurs. Je pense que j'oublie des choses encore Au top!

Musique du temple de 5h30 6h30, mais on s'habitue. Attention à préciser quelle chambre vous voulez car il y a les grandes en photos, qui ne sont pas toujours celles qui sont réservées

The hosts are very wellcomind and they generously help for exploring the island, with bicycles, walks and kayaks (only the kayaks had a fee). The cuisine is nice and we felt warmly received in the house during the meals.

The property was spacious and clean, with a lovely breakfast in Anand’s home. Anand was a great host, he helped us arrange a taxi, a boat trip and took my son and I kayaking, as well as taking us on local walks to see a boat being built and rope being made from coconut husks. The area is very relaxing and a nice place to explore and unwind. I would book to stay at Anand’s place again.

Cleanliness, it is located in prime location. Canal boating is excellent.staff is very polite and friendly. Superb.

Staying at Vrindavan Homestay was one of the most heartwarming experiences of my trip. Suresh Uncle and Anand were incredibly friendly and helpful in every possible way — always ready with a smile and assistance whenever needed. Aunty cooked the most delicious, homely meals and treated me with so much love and care that I truly felt like part of their family. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and peaceful — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Everything about this place was just perfect, from the warm hospitality to the serene surroundings. If you’re looking for a home away from home on Munroe Island, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

The staff was very helping, both when we arrived Munroe Island late at night, but also when we wanted to go for activities during the day. They were available on the phone throughout the whole day, and answered all the questions we had. We even got to borrow their scooter, to discover other villages nearby! The power went out during the day, and they changed our rooms to a new one with power, without us even asking. Very good service, and friendly people:)

I had a wonderful stay at [vrindhavan homestay] during my trip to island . The homestay was cozy, clean, and perfectly located. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to help with local tips or anything we needed. The room was comfortable with all the basic amenities, and I especially appreciated homemade breakfast, peaceful atmosphere. It truly felt like a home away from home. If you're looking for a peaceful, authentic experience on the island, I highly recommend staying here..

I had a wonderful stay with a warm, welcoming family! I was well taken care of throughout my visit. The room was cozy and clean, and the food was absolutely amazing. They provided plenty of information and recommendations on where to go and what to do—from a morning boat tour to kayak and bicycle rentals, plus laundry facilities, everything you need was available. Keep in mind that the homestay is a bit remote, further from the main river, but I found this to be an advantage. It allowed me to rent a kayak and explore the small canals easily. Additionally, the homestay is within walking distance from the train station—if you choose to walk, follow the road near the temple.

We had an amazing experience at Vrindavan Homestay! The host, Anand, welcomed us with open arms, always in for a conversation and a good laugh. We booked a sunrise canoe through Anand, and afterwards we cycled around with him. The room was clean and his mom’s cooking is the best!! Missing them already, highly recommend!

Great location with wonderful hosts. Anand was particularly helpful offering advice and booking services for us. We had a great Sunrise trip taking in the local waterways - a must trip. We only stayed one day but there were bikes and kayak to use. Plus, Anand could provide beer, etc :-)

First thing, this was our first homestay experience and we normally book more expensive, hotel accommodation. It is very good value for money but, as one would expect, it’s not fair to compare like with like. Also, some building work was going on while we were there and the garden wasn’t accessible.

Anand is a great host. He's easygoing and very passionate in making sure the guests have a good experience in his homestay. The whole experience felt very welcoming and authentic. The location is great too as it's at the heart of Munroe Island. Things you should definitely do when you are there: - Try his mom's cooking - Sunrise boat tour - Bike ride around the island Overall highly recommended to stay there for a few days.

The amenities are quiet basic, but for the price you pay its expected. The mattress and pillows were not very comfy.

Good location, Anand was very friendly and helpful. AC in the rooms was fantastic and essential in the heat. Rooms were clean. We enjoyed our stay!

We asked for dinner and breakfast. We expected a fixed price (like in all other home stays we’ve visited) but we were actually charged per item. For example, we were provided with a tub of many chapatis as part of dinner. We later realised we were charged per chapati despite not being asked how many we wanted etc. Anand also brought waters to our table without asking (we therefore assumed it was part of the dinner price) and no price was revealed or mentioned. This was therefore a shock at check out when we saw a large list of items. Our food costed more than the accommodation! To be transparent and fair, a menu with prices should have been provided or mentioned before purchase. This will avoid any confusion and surprise.

The host Anand was amazing, very helpful and inclusive. Made an effort to help with all the tours and any others needs. The food was great and the rooms are a good size and in great condition.

We’ve been travelling for 5 months and this has been our favourite Homestay so far: amazing hosts food and activities. Anand is such an incredible, kind and funny host and his mum is a fantastic cook. They have bikes that you can take out anytime, he took us on a sunset ride and also during the day around the village. There are kayaks we took out twice, an Anand organised a sunrise boat trip, leaving just a few steps from the property. He really went above and beyond to made sure we had a good time and was so much to hang out with too. The place is a 5 min cycle from the centre of the village. It’s all super laid back and a place to go chill and/or explore from for a few days.

The room were really nice, food was so good and tasty, and our host were so lovely. It was just perfect, we recommend 100%

One of the best homestays we've stayed in, Anand and his family are amazing hosts. They made us feel like friends rather than guests. The food was the best we've had in Kerela! His mums egg curry and puttu is unbeatable (and i've had a lot!). Anands hosting was 10/10, he sorted all activities, including kayaking, sunrise boat and cycling, for good price and with ease. He is a super chilled and nice guy. He joined us on the cycle ride and showed us some local delicacies. The rooms were cosy and very clean, super comfortable beds with nice pillows. Would recommend this to anyone. We'll be back again!

We loved our stay at Vrindavan homestay. Anand and his family were so welcoming. It felt like home with friends. If we hadn't plan to take a train 3 days later, we would have stay longer. Sad to leave! Hope to see you again :)

The accomodation was super cozy and clean. And Anand was the best host! He organized everything perfectly for us - from cheap kayak rental to sunrise boat tours - and he took us to a temple festival and on a bicycle tour around the island - it was simply lovely! And his amazing mum prepared the most delicious food for us (her egg curry was the best!) :) We didn’t feel like customers but friends during our stay, would always come back!

I had an amazing time at Vrindavan Homestay. I was met with a warm welcome from the family. Anand did a super job of making sure I had everything I needed and had a good time. He is the best host ever! The food was delicious and I enjoyed the canoeing and kayaking that he arranged. The room was perfectly clean and spacious with great air-con and wifi. I highly recommend you stay at this homestay.

Staying at vrindavan was an actual dream. The rooms were lovely, good ac, comfy beds, modern toilets, yoga space and outdoor communal area in the garden. But all these things were extra in compassion to the hosts. Anand and his family are such lovely people, everything was so easily organized for us and nothing was too much trouble. The boating (highly recommend the sunrise canoe) was so cool, and we could go right from the property through the canals to the lake. The food was actually out of this world, getting such an authentic array of dishes through out our stay. We stayed over the Christmas period and Anand organized a Christmas party, decorated the place and got Christmas cake for everyone. This stay is one of our highlights from our whole trip in India. If we come back to kerala we will definitely be coming again.

Anand and his family are very kind hosts. We had dinner and breakfast at their house, they were very attentive to our needs and the communication was very good. The sunrise boat tour organized by Anand and his friend was the highlight of our stay and it was nice to walk around the tranquil and laid back village. The accommodation was modern and the Ac in the room worked very well!

There was construction work going on in the property so the garden and especially the entrance did not look like in the pictures. The bed for my liking was a bit hard and springy. We had left a pair of shoes outside over night and they disappeared. This certainly was not the host’s fault but we were surprised this could happen in the laid back village.

Cute property with clean and comfortable rooms. The owner went above and beyond to help us - he is incredibly nice! And his mom cooked us amazing food. Wish I’d stayed longer than just one night.

Our most authentic homestay experience in India where we were brought into the family home and ate delicious meals at their table. The host Anand was really helpful, bringing us kayaking very soon after we arrived and organising the morning sunrise canoe. If we had more time we would have stayed another night!

Everything! The food that was cooked for us was all amazing. Anand really went out of his way to help us and arranged Kayaking for sunset and then a traditional boat trip for sunrise. The room is perfect and we really could not speak more highly of this place. One of the best places we have stayed in our 4 weeks in India, absolutely perfect. Thank you Anand and family

this is a beautiful resort

Suresh (Dad) invited me to a boottrip to a other Island and showed me a lot uf the pure nature there. We had very good talks. Ambika (mummy) is just a beautiful soul .. very caring, friendly, aware 👍🏼🙏 And Ambika is a very good cook. I enjoined her meals very much 😍 Archana (daughter) brought me to 2 different temples and showed the rules. 🙏💚 Anand (son) was always there when I needed him. He did allways a very good. job. We had a great time .. we're laughing a lot. And last but not least, he help me to get a sim-card and organized a taxi to the new homestay 👍🏼🙏💎 At Vrindavans homestay I could totally relax. I highly recommend this homestay. Don't forget, there is a railway station nearby with very good connections to the south and north 👍🏼

Honestly this homestay was more like a home. Suresh Uncle, Aunty and Anand were amazing host. Aunty is such a great a cook and Uncle took us to see the nearby places in Munroe Island. This place is so calm, amazing location just next to the canal. They also arranged the canoe ride for us. More than the homestay I liked the simplicity and warmth of the owners. Uncle even gave us the plants from their garden. Rooms were well lit and clean and they even have a chill out zone, a nice pond and a ground for kids to play.

The little house itself is nice and the location is good. Our host Anand gave us bikes to discover munroe island (they didn’t work well but for short distances ok). We had homemade food which was good for the price. Anand was always available for questions and he organized a sunrise boat tour for us.

When we arrived nothing was prepared and the accommodation wasn’t cleaned and we didn’t have fresh sheets. To get them we had to ask a couple of times. The food took very long to prepare (especially breakfast) and the WiFi connection wasn’t very good. Our host Anand seemed quite unorganized so we always had to ask multiple of times for things (like to get fresh sheets, food and we didn’t get towels). For the price and for only one night it’s fine but our host didn’t really seem to make much effort for his guests. Maybe it was only because we booked only one day in advance and it was off season.

One of most off beat places away from city noise and lights. Anand ensured our stay was comfortable and recommended best place for food. Early morning canoe trip was surreal, thanks to the host!

The host, the hospitality and friendliness, how helpful and kind the family were.

We only stayed one night but we were happy to have found Anand’s place. Well situated, close to train station. Property is very clean. Chilling spot on front porch in front of the room with fan to make it comfortable. Anand was very helpful, he gave us all the information we needed to get around the island and activities we could do. He lended us bicycles which is a super way to explore the island. Anand’s mom prepared good homemade food for us.

Bed is springy but thick. A/c had a “leaking in our face” problem overnight, but as soon as we told Anand the next morning, he said he would fix it.
