El lugar es una maravilla. Nosotros viajamos con toda la familia y las vistas son realmente bonitas. Además disponen de una estufa de leña que para el invierno es perfecta y una barbacoa para asar carne. Volvería encantada.

We liked lots of things at Riverdance Cottage: Lovely bed linen. Friendly owner. Nice views from the verandah. Peaceful location. Kayaking on the river. Watching birds in the garden.

Well equipped and homely little house. Dishwasher and washing machine are a big bonus. Superb view over river. Delightful birdsong in the garden. Use of canoe was a treat.

Wir haben diese Unterkunft auf unserer Reise zur Garden Route nahe Malgas sehr wertgeschätzt. Sie hat alles, was man zum kochen und wohlfühlen braucht. Die Vermieter sind äußerst nett und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist nur über eine Schotterpiste zu erreichen, und der nächste größere Ort ist circa 45 min unterwegs - wenn man Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit genießt, ist es der perfekte Ort.

Everything is well maintained, crisp and clean. Owners and staff very kind and helpful.

Firstly, THE STOEP with stack windows that open up to A GORGEOUS VIEW and beautiful garden. Brilliant!!! It was a home away from home. If you thought "it would be nice to have...." It was there. Everything you could possibly want for a relaxing break was provided.

Remote location next to the Breede River but close enough to a shop that stocks everything. Canoes available to explore the river. Lots of birds.

Una casita preciosa al lado de un río. Muy limpia. Buenas camas. Tiene de todo de cocina limpio y nuevo. Tienes barcas si quieres pasear por el río, barbacoa, Netflix, estufa de leña. Vamos, de todo. El camino de llegada está un poco regular pero es cuestión de un poco de cuidado, ni coche especial ni nada. Nosotros teníamos un coche normal. La propietaria está pendiente en todo momento. Desde antes de llegar. Deja una botellita de aceite (fundamental en los desayunos españoles) y galletas de cortesía. Totalmente recomendable

Nos alojamos 2 noches y solo puedo decir cosas buenas, la casa preciosa, las fotos no le hacen justicia, y las vistas impresionantes. Madi e Ian viven en la casa un poco más abajo y están muy pendientes de todo. Nos hemos sentido como en casa, lo recomendamos 100%.

Tout était parfait : cadre sublime, cottage charmant avec superbe vue sur la rivière, hôtes sympathiques et très attentionnés. Fantastique !

The fireplaces were beautiful and effective. All the amenities, like washing machine, air fryer, etc. Very well-equipped kitchen. Warm duvets on beds. Everything was just beautiful.

The last bit of the road was tough, not recommended for a small car.

Has everything you need, and the owners seem to really value their guests feedback. We loved the indoor fireplace and braai facilities - with beautiful views over the river.

The serenity and the host. The kitchen had everything that you can think of what you need. Even dog bowls. Madi and Ian were always available to any queries that we had.

This cottage was just wonderful. Each room has its own shower and loo. The kitchen has everything you need and a dishwasher! It has an amazing view of the river. And our host was fantastic!!

We enjoyed the view, the cottage was neat and had what we needed. I enjoyed taking the dog for a walk. You need a big car for the gravel road. The Riverdance Cottage is a hidden gem, it's worth the long shaky road.

Loved the space, the location and the area. Even though it was long weekend, it was still quiet enough to enjoy nature, a good walk and a nice mountain bike ride. Host also allowed us to use the non-motorised water sport equipment.

Absolutely stunning location. 5 Star venue and supreme views over the river and comfort Most hospitable, entertaining and enchanting hosts we have ever come across in all our extensive travels. In the words of Arnold. Well be back!

A really nice and quiet place for coming down and enjoying the scenery.

The view of the river was amazing and can be seen from anywhere in the house. The stackable windows of the braai area is great as you can open it completely or close it in depending on the wheather. The decor is beautiful with lots of little personal and unexpected touches.

The shower temperature is a little difficult to get right. The fridge is not very cold and cannot be adjusted.

Lovely hosts, lovely place, lovely apartment! We had a short but great stay and can highly recommend the accommodation.

Everything was perfect, we loved the cottage it was cozy and the atmosphere was everything. My husband loved that he could do some canoeing. The host was awesome. We loved everything about it.

A lovely setting alongside the banks of the Breede River. Gorgeous, comfortable and fit-for-purpose little cottage which served as a perfect place for a much-needed, off the beaten track getaway. The biscuit snack for both adults and our fur baby as well as the handmade soaps was a great touch! Wide open space and breathtaking view!

Rural Riverdance Cottage has a commanding view from the hillside above the Breede River. Our gracious hostess Madi greeted us with a bottle of locally produced extravirgin olive oil, plus a little counter top bag of cookies awaited us upon arrival. The cottage is compact without being claustrophobic, and its terrace is a relaxing spot from which to observe activity on the river. Our stay in Malgas also gave us interesting exposure to the nearby riverside Malagas Hotel and pub, where we enjoyed several meals and visited the closeby Sijnn Winery (Saturdays), made a day trip to the De Hoop Nature Reserve (the Fig Tree restaurant is a 'must'), plus we ventured across the Breede on its picturesque motorized pontoon ferry during a departure day visit to Witsand. We previously dined on pub grub at Grunter's, adjacent to the Breede River Trading Post, the local source of grocery supplies. Both are located at a crossroads on the way in. There is a petrol facility adjacent to the hotel. To my pleasant surprise, there were no mosquitoes during our stay.

After turning off the smooth main paved road, it becomes a rather rough, winding, somewhat rocky graded track, whose bark is far worse than its bite. A couple of trips in and out and you'll come to like it. Watch for tortoises - we saw quite a few! Follow Madi's explicxcit instructions carefully, and you'll have no problem locating the property. If you're about to give up and think you've overshot, go just a little father and you'll find it! Pay attention to the numbers.

Great peaceful place with lovely views over the river, off the beaten track. Very well equipped and nicely decorated. Great hospitality - thank you Madi! Around 30 minutes drive to Potberg (part of De Hoop), where we would recommend taking a circular trail with beautiful views over the ocean and De Hoop reserve. Around 50 minutes drive to the other part of De Hoop with its picturesque coastal trail. Local pub has a great ambiance and offers very good food. Stock up on your way as the local store offers basic food only.

Not that it bothered us, just be mindful that the roads around the area are bumpy dirt roads. We have VW T-Cross and it worked well.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage with beautiful view. Lovely stoep with braai and all-day river gazing. We entered mid-day on an exceptionally hot day and the cottage was cool and inviting. Hosts are onsite, friendly, communicative, very hospitable and relaxed. Ensure to take aqua shoes and pool toys to enjoy the slow flow of the river, entering from the slipway. Cottage is all on one level, but surrounding site, parking and short walk to the river is slightly steep due to the location on the higher river bank. Fenced-in safe area for dogs. Thoughtful touches such as doggy water-bowls, insect spray, block-out blinds and on-site drinking water filter. Not only a holiday rental, this cottage is loved and cared for by its owners and it shows.

One little tip: a broom would have been nice so we could keep the floors clean with bugs and ants being abundant

Hosts where extremely helpful. Cottage far exceeded our expectations and was exceptionably good value for money. 180 degree view of the river. Clean, equipped with everything one could need and very comfortable. In door braai and easy access to river were the best.

We loved the tranquility and sense of escape. This cosy cottage has everything we needed and more, with plenty wildlife and birds for us to enjoy while we relaxed.. Hosts were amazing and made sure we were happy and comfortable from arrival.

If I could give 11/10 I would! This cottage is an absolute gem and so pretty inside. There is nothing that you might need, that isn’t already inside. We will definitely be back!

Location is great, house is very well equipped and has very nice decor. Outside seats were excellent (I hate wobbly patio chairs… as I am a big lad). Good WiFi! House has a lovely garden below the Braai area. ( The Inside Braai is great too…the first time I have used one as we don’t really have them in Scotland!). We loved the house . Many thanks for making it a great stay.

The view, and it was so well equipped. Every need anticipated. The hosts were very welcoming and went beyond the call of duty when we had a puncture.

It’s a rough steep dirt road on the final approach which didn’t bother us but may not suit everyone.

Everyhing ! My hosts made these three days very special, they turned out as a goldmine of information of the area. The chalet lies with an unforgetable view over the river - but nearly no moaquitoes ! It is very well equipped; even a dishwasher and a washing machine is provided. Electricity runs by solar power, so you do not have to be afraid of load shadding. DeHoop Nature Reserve is realativly close by (I strongly recommend the hikes in the Potberg section !).

Loved the view. The location was remote but we loved the area. There are no shops in Malgas but there is a petrol station.we were able to make dat trips to Point Agulhas, De Hoop, and Swellendam from there. We had been traveling for several weeks so the laundry facilities were very welcome. The hosts were incredibly gracious. We appreciated the olive oil as a welcome gift and the home made biscuits, which were excellent. The hosts also made sure that we had the proper bedding as my husband is allergic to feathers. The enclosed porch has a fireplace for a brain and we enjoyed this.

The location is idyllic, peaceful, stunning setting. Wonderful being off grid and being able to watch the rugby on DSTV streaming service.

Excellent having instant hot water available from the gas, but the temperature regulation in the shower was a bit unstable. Don't know how easy that is to adjust in the geyser though.

We had a lovely stay at Riverdance. Ian and Madi were excellent hosts and super helpful and friendly. The cottage has all you need for your stay including a fabulous enclosed stoep with indoor braai, and views of the river from all the rooms.

Hospitality and responsiveness of hosts. Very thoughtful and carrying approach. Area is beautiful and house seems to be newly renovated!

The road that leads to the property is in extremely bad condition. The water in property runs with a brownish color. It’s said it is not harmful, still psychological aspect is there.

Very well equipped cottage with a beautiful view. Cosy stoep with braai area and view of river. Good wifi. Also a nice welcomming letter from owners together with some homemade cookies and local Olive oil.

There are no indications how to get to river from the cottage. We didn't want to intrude on their privacy. Luckily my husband met one of the ver friendly neigbours who showed him where he can do some flyfishing. If you like peace and quiet rather go out of season. The river is a boat highway and can be disturbing.
