Tataraimaka Farmlet

We loved the rural setting - only about 20 mins out of New Plymouth and 5 mins from Ōakura so it was easy to pop in for dinner etc. We loved the ocean view with the sheep happily grazing in the paddock right outside. Rocky was such a cutie and it was so special to be welcomed by him and then he popped over a couple times for a cuddle which we always got so excited about! Although the spa was on the deck of the main house the hosts were very good at giving us full privacy while we were there by closing the blinds etc, so it really did not matter that it was seperate from the tiny home. And the stars were just beautiful lighting up the night sky!

Location is good you can see Mt.Taranaki and have farm in front of you ,House is so cute situble for 3-4 persons, facilities 👍, owners 😄 friendly, we will come back again if have a chance.

Beautiful farmlet with the cutest chickens, sheep and pigs - and one awesome border collie (we miss you Rocky!) Loved having a relaxing spa under the stars every night. Lovely hosts, can’t thank you both enough. Wish we could have stayed longer!

It is very quite and peaceful place. You can view sea over the edge. Jacuzzi is very private and you can enjoy nice sunset view. It was rainy day for us but still Nick and Theresa made our stay very happening and are most helpful kind welcoming host, even Rocky - farm dog. We enjoyed feeding farm animals aswell.

Perfect to use as a base for exploring the region. Fantastic hosts who were very accommodating. Families with children will love the opportunity to feed the farm animals. Highly recommended and would definitely stay at again.

I like the location. It’s offgrid but not so far from the main town. The owners are so nice and accomodating even the animals too. And the tiny house is very warm.

The tiny home felt very private and had beautiful views with Mt Taranaki on one side and the ocean on the other. The host was incredibly friendly, she left us some honey from the farmlet beehive and let us feed the pigs. The property was very clean, cosy and had everything you needed. Stargazing from the hot tub was incredible after a day on Mt Taranaki. Wonderful stay!

We loved everything about the property! It is totally amazing, from the location up to the accommodation itself. It is quite and peaceful, from one side you have green fields with ocean view, from the other you have Taranaki view! By car it is easily to get to supermarkets, cafes, beaches, shops.... Inside you have everything you need! Comfy and Cosy. Huge thanks for you Therese!

The views and the property were spectacular - one window the sea with the sunset, the other the mountain. The property itself was incredibly clean and well equipped. The shower was hot and good pressure (sounds weird but it’s important). What makes the stay amazing are the owners who live on the land but are separate from the house you stay in. They were very kind and inviting, especially to our 2 young children. They took them to feed the sheep and invited us to an evening roasting marshmallows. They have sheep, chickens and honey bees and a gorgeous border collie called Rocky who came to greet us every morning and was great with the kids.

Not much. In hindsight the property felt a bit small for 2 adults and 2 children - there is a double bedroom and a sofa bed which was fine for the short stay but would probably be better suited for a couple to stay. Also something to note - the property advised a hot tub which we’re excited about for the kids but the hot tub is on the owners deck, not the house you are staying in. The owners were very happy for you to use it but it’s something to bear in mind.

Just an incredible place. Incredible views, the farmlet was very clean and had everything needed for a short stay. Therese was lovely and came to say hello and check we were okay or see if we needed anything throughout our stay. It was close to a village which had an incredible beach, cool cafes a couple of restaurants and a small supermarket.

Absolutely a little hidden gem, beautifully presented and delightful decor. Exceptionally clean and the most hospitable hosts. I felt welcome and relaxed in a stunning part of Taranaki. If you want a million dollar view of the Ocean, this is for you. I highly recommend this accommodation and would rebook it in a heartbeat if visiting Taranaki.

I liked everything - small comfy house, bed, kitchen, refrigerator with fresh milk , coffee machine , tv with apps, garden ,animals vulcano if you lucky to see it ... Beautiful trails are from 5- 20' and you can go around all Mount Egmont ... Owners -Terese and her husband were very nice ...

Beautiful location surrounded by green fields and mountains as a backdrop. The farmlet was pristine, comfy with all the facilities one needs for a long lazy stay.

We have been travelling across the north island for two months and the Farmlet has been our favourite tiny home yet (and we have stayed in many!!). It is cosy, clean and luxurious all in one. The bed is super comfortable, the shower is powerful and the kitchen is equipped with everything we needed (including sharp knives!) The host was so wonderful, kind and attentive and was kind enough to give us eggs from her hens - such a treat! We would return in a heartbeat and already miss the view of Taranaki from the kitchen window.

There is nothing that could deter me from coming back here!! For completeness, I will mention that the Farmlet is just off of a fast road which can be quite noisy if you are not used to this. For light sleepers I would recommend you pack some ear plugs and then book this stunning property, as you will not regret it.

Everything! Felt like a home away from home and Therese was awesome, made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the views and the my son loved feeding the animals. We miss Rocky the dog already. Highly recommend!

Going home, we didn’t want to leave!

We had such a wonderful stay! Theresa is a super friendly and welcoming host who made us feel right at home. The location is perfect, with stunning views of both the mountains and the sea. My daughter especially loved feeding the farm animals,it was such a special experience for her. Highly recommend this Airbnb for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Loved everything about this stay to relax and wind down the year. On one side of the kitchen, you can see the farm and ocean and on the other was Mt. Taranaki (when visible). Had all the amenities you needed to cook meals. Only got to meet the host Therese on the last night as she was away but any assistance that I needed was there before I arrived. She also was lovely enough to show me around the farm on the morning I left.

If you're a light sleeper like I am. Road noise (100km/h) could be an issue though it is very low traffic passing by

It's absolutely nice, clean, and an awesome place to stay. Will definitely stay here again, and i shall recommend this place to anyone looking for a slice of heaven.

Theresa and Nick were very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable. We liked the location, close to beaches and Oakura which had nice eateries and a great butcher. Easy to get around and explore the wider area. The Tiny Home was well equipped for self catering, great shower, comfy bed and good views. We had a really relaxing week and would stay there again.

Our stay at Tataraimaka Farmlet was incredible. We loved the tiny home and it was stocked with all the essentials. The home is super clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and the towels and linen were prepared for our stay. Therese is a wonderful host who was there for all our questions and offered great tips and recommendations. There was no delay in communication and we really enjoyed each interaction with her. The animals at the farm are so beautiful, we loved Rocky the border collie as well as the sheep and pigs which we got to hand feed as much as we wanted. The location of the property is perfect for those who either want to kick back and relax, or like us- want to do the beautiful hikes around mt Taranaki, surf the point breaks along the coast or head into town for a shop or a bite to eat. We loved our time here and hope we can make it back again sometime. Thank you Therese and your family.

Kind and helpful host, cleanliness of the apartment was outstanding, the views from the apartment are beautiful.

This property was clean and on a beautiful piece of land. Distant Views of the ocean and sunset on one side, Mt Taranaki on the other. The unit was clean and had great facilities. Most of all, Therese, who looks after the unit went above and beyond her host duties and was very attentive and lovely.

It is quite close to the road, but not loud enough to cause sleep interruptions.

Our host made us feel welcome right from the start and we really loved the tiny home. Everything we needed was there waiting for us.

The owner very generous, we had good treats such as chocolate, organic milk and espresso . It’s very new and clean tinny house. Also all the kitchen appliances are good quality. The owner also very kind and friendly. We had good time .plus they supplied the hot tub . It’s nice way to relax after hiking .

Theresa's hospitality and our daughter loved the animals where we got the opportunity to feed, which our daughter enjoyed.

We had been traveling in a van for 10 months and we really needed a nice place to stay and relax a little. The tiny house was beautiful and comfy, everything was great, kitchen with all you need, very comfortable bed and the farm where it’s located it’s incredible with all the animals and a nice view of the Taranaki. A big 10/10. Ps. Cutest dog in the world
