Despite the owner being late to pick us up he was very friendly and it was great to be able to go to and from the airport free of charge.

There was hardly any water pressure and no hot water in the bathroom after a 12 hour flight this was a disappointment. Also no bottled water.

Thomas and family were the perfect hosts. The location was so close to the airport but incredibly peaceful.

Very nice place, decoration and Thomas was the nicest host you can imagine, he made us one of the best dinners we had (in a great prize) and also he drived us to the airport (for free), the surroundings are very nice for a walk.

It’s a stylish Indian way of living. The owner was very accommodating! And the free airport transfer is definitely a plus.

I needed a place for a night, Thomas picked me Up, Made me a Late Snack, a good breakfast and brought me back to the Airport. Had a good night, lovely people,will come Back.

This not just any home stay. They make you feel at home, like you are part of the family. I stayed here on my last night in India and it was the perfect way to end the trip! The dinner they made me was one of the best meals in India. The stay is close to the airport and it’s the quaintest, cleanest village. I will 100% be returning.

Mr Thomas picked up and drop at airport for free and a large glass of PineApple juice was awesome for just Rs.100 each. They offer original Kerala style food at very reasonable price and also help you to book a car at competitive prices with well behaved drivers. Mrs and Mr Johnson are down to earth person and always willing to please you with all possible ways.

Room was up a flight of stairs and it was a challenge wth bags. Distance frm the airport was misleading and further than what was mentioned on the website

Thomas and his wife are great host. We loved the food and loved the hospitality they showed. Our kids loved the room and they were allowed to use any toy they see in the house. We felt like we r at our own home. God bless them !

Everything was fantastic and value for money. Rather we cannot compare the reception & hospitality in terms of money. There is nothing that we didn’t like.

The accommodation is excellent. It’s a beautifully built house where the owner lives on the ground floor, and we had a room on the first floor. The owner was extremely polite and helpful, which made our stay very comfortable. We truly felt like we were at home. We liked everything about our stay and truly have no complaints. However, one small suggestion would be to consider adding a television in the room. It could be a nice addition for guests who wish to relax and unwind with some entertainment during their stay.

Our stay at Thottungal Homestay was truly pleasant. Our host, Thomas, came to pick us up from the station and even dropped us off at the airport the next morning. He was so accommodating that he even offered to drive to the airport in the middle of the night to pick up my daughter. The homestay itself is absolutely beautiful, with a mix of old and new wooden furnishings and innovative designs throughout, giving it a grand yet cozy feel. The aesthetic ambiance instantly lifted our spirits after our long and tiring journey. The food prepared by Thomas’s wife, Tresa, was particularly noteworthy—delicious and homely. The hospitality was exceptional—polite, warm, and always helpful. The only downside was that we all wished we could have stayed longer!

Good location, Mr Thomas and his wife are excellent hosts, felt like staying at a close relatives house.

Our hosts were wonderful and welcoming. Thomas suggested taking us for a drive around their local area in the evening, giving us the opportunity to soak in the beautiful surroundings, venture for a wander in the rice fields to watch the sunset and also visit their crisp factory nearby. The evening meal was delicious 😋 (at an additional cost). We very much appreciated the 3am ride to the airport! The house was a rather impressive design (designed by their architect son) and featured two beautiful, spacious balconies. We loved their kindness, enthusiasm and warmth. We would like to add that the welcome juices offered on arrival, dinner and drive to airport were additional extras - something we were of course happy to pay for but should really have been offered initially within mention of price, as opposed to charging at the end. Aside from this, everything was absolutely wonderful 💕

it has been such a pleasure being at Thomas house! We have no words to describe the kindness, hospitality, and love we have received from such a nice family. The food was excelent, the room was so comfortable, everything at such a good price. But above all, the people of Kerala, including Thomas family and the friends we made there, has been the best experience.

Thomas was a great hoist, he was available for our every need. He showed us around the area his wife cooked great food for us, which we were charged for. The rate was very reasonable. We would have struggled to find our own food should we have wanted to. Thomas every bit a good hoist and a perfect gentleman.

Ambience

The welcome reception (fresh juice and cake) together with the attentiveness of Mr Thomas. Dinner was great and he kindly arranged a tuk tuk for us to get to the airport in the morning (airport is about 12km away)

The room was a bit basic compared to the rest of the house but perfectly adequate for our needs. Some soap and shampoo would have been welcome and a kettle would have been a bonus.

Thomas has a lovely home and is a gracious host. The location is perfectly located between the trees, away from the noise but a quick walk from the village. Definitely relaxing atmosphere.

Thomas was the perfect host. The homestay is in a quiet semi rural village surrounded by trees, countryside and bird life. We had a short wander to watch the water buffalo and sunset over the rice fields before a delicious dinner and breakfast the following day. A great stopover for the airport.

The friendliness of the owners. Just arrived into India and owners went far out of their way to give me a positive experience- it does come with a price which is to be found out at the end on the bill. So room is cheap and if you want it to stay cheap say No to the extra’s or ask how much they cost.

Big house perfectly clean, close to the airport, but in a wonderful neighbourhood, surrounded by green vegetation. The owner is very kind and he does everything to make the stay comfortable. He also helped us to organize our trip. Breakfast was delicious, cooked with a lot of love.

The room was comfortable for a night's stay. The location is great -- quiet area, super close to the airport. But above all, the hospitality is fantastic. Thomas welcomed me into their home, showed me and another guest around the area, and his wife cooked us the most delicious fresh fish dinner. Then he took me to the airport to catch my plane home at a ridiculously early hour. Thank you so much, Thomas, for your kindness and hospitality.

I booked room for 1700+204 GST= Rs 1904. I was charged Rs 2500. Owner seemed so nice that I didn't realized at the time about being overcharged, especially as I had a flight to catch. Not sure if it was by mistake or deliberate, but neither is a smart move. Also, location of homestay is 12 km from Kochi airport, though on booking.com, it shows right at the airport. That's why owner does a free airport transfer. But it's still misleading.

The house itself is very beautiful (designed by Thomas’s son who is an architect). The room was huge and the balcony looks out over fields which is great. Thomas feeds the birds daily and prepares a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit juice, omelette and coffee. The transfer to the airport was simple and smooth. The perfect place to stay for the airport.

They took us to a location 15 minutes drive from the airport. I had doubt that where are we going. They informed me about the location after booking in their message but I didn't care about that.

Serene, quiet location out of the hustle bustle of the city. Well worth going out of your way to experience true Indian hospitality. Host is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Meals are extra, but are delicious and well worth it. We wish we would’ve planned to stay longer.

Google maps has the correct location but plots an incorrect route for the last 100 m. Not to worry, neighbors are very willing to help.

Thomas the owner,his wife and son made us very welcome. They provided us with a delicious meal and drove us to Kochi Airport at 3.30am. This homestay provides an excellent service for people wishing to get to Kochi Airport.

We only stayed for one night as somewhere near the airport. To be honest it seemed the location was further from the airport than we expected but Thomas and his wife made us very welcome, the house is spotlessly clean and has a lovely ambience and the food prepared and cooked for us was exceptional. Thomas virtually treated us like family. We would certainly advise anyone to stay over and enjoy a really comfortable homestay. This place is great value for money.

Nothing … everything was perfect

Thomas and his family were extremely welcoming and kind, Thomas even took us on a short car tour of the area in the afternoon and his wife Theresa cooked me vegetarian lunch and dinner and let me prepare my own breakfast in their kitchen. The location was super peaceful and beautiful overlooking rice fields. I didn't know that it would be a 15min drive from the airport as the location on booking.com was 0km from the airport but that turned out to be an advantage because it was more quiet and in the middle of nature. The free drop-off to the airport in the middle of the night worked really well, they were even ready before the agreed time, called to see if I was awake and drove me smoothly to the domestic terminal.

The family offered free pick up from the airport. When we arrived late, they offered an optional dinner and juice. The house is beautiful and set in a stunning location around nature. There was an option for a delicious breakfast and juice in the morning. The family were so friendly and welcoming and made our visit very special!

My driver had to ask in the village to find it as it was down a little lane which was hard to see on satnav

The house it is not in the address indicated in booking. It is far away from airport in a place very difficult to reach. We had a private taxi and the driver couldn't find the place in any way. In the end we could arrive just because we were already in India and we had local telephone card..if you are just arrived and something go wrong in airport pick up it can turn into a challenging experience . When we finally arrived the owner "offered" us a fresh juice..that it was nice and we thought it was a sort of compensation for the inconveniences suffered..but when we left we were eventually charged for that!

Beautiful house overlooking a marshy lake.. peaceful and tranquil. We were a family of 8 people travelling together and had booked the Family room and a double room. Mr. Thomas was very hospitable and we enjoyed our stay.. specially loved the fresh pineapple juice !!

There should be a small side table or desk in the upper part of the family room. There is no place to even keep your watch or mobile in the top-most section beside the bed.

The house is really nice. The breakfast (costs extra) was great, and the host, Thomas, is really kind. The room was very spacious, especially for the price, and the AC was great.

The location in booking is not correct. The host organizes free pickup and dropoff rides from and to the airport, but it was not clear during conversations that the location was that different, so we got a scare at first.

The hospitality, the hosts, the nature, everything. Thomas went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. They welcomed us to celebrate Christmas with them, we felt like honorary guests. Teresa cooked AMAZING food for us. Thomas also brought us to the airport the next day.

If Kerala is heaven’s home then this property is a place in lap of heaven. Beautiful house, so clean, everything intact and right in place. From floor to beddings, to towels, toiletries to furniture, just marvellous. I just love the people managing the property and we stayed like our own home. Surrounded by lush green serene landscapes. The hosts are rarest of rare a gentle persons . God bless him and I wish they stay blessed ever.

Thomas's service was outstanding! From the minute he picked me up at the airport to when he dropped me off at 1AM he did way more than expected! He also organized the BEST driver to take me around! And also gave the most delicious lunch and supper prepared by his lovely wife.

Maybe the room was too big for one person. I'm not sure interior decor is their thing but a very comfortable bed. also huge bathroom!

It really was a huge pleasure staying at Thottungal Homestay! I enjoyed every minute of staying there. The homestay is beautifully located in a quiet and very green area, surrounded by palm trees and birds that you can watch while having breakfast. The hosts went above and beyond of making my stay comfortable, especially the fresh fruits and pineapple smoothies they offered were delicious. Would recommend this homestay 100% and would love to go back.
