Im ganzen Haus sah es durch das Herumstehen vieler Dinge unordentlich aus. Eine Gemütlichkeit fehlt. Schon der Zugang zum Haus ist nicht einladend. Im ganzen Haus war es nicht wirklich sauber. Das Frühstück konnte man offiziell erst um 09.00 Uhr einnehmen. Falls man früher frühstücken wollte, lag ein Plättli voll Käse auf dem Tisch, dies wurde am Abend zuvor ungekühlt hin gestellt. Joghurt, Butter, Säfte, Milch standen auch schon am Abend zuvor ungekühlt auf dem Frühstücksbüffet. Der grösste Negativpunkt war für uns der Hund. Der durfte im ganzen Restaurant herumlaufen. Er wurde immer wieder vom Personal gestreichelt, jedoch wusch niemand danach die Hände bevor wieder etwas für die Gäste hinter dem Buffett gerichtet wurde. Dass der Hund auch in die Küche durfte, das war das absolute No go. Wir werden dieses Haus nicht weiterempfehlen und nicht wieder besuchen.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Die ruhige Lage inmitten der beeindruckenden Bergwelt war einfach schön. Wir hatten ein sehr leckeres Abendessen und Frühstück und sind auf nette Gäste getroffen. Die Wirtin und das Personal waren sehr nett. Uns hat es gut gefallen.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2025Das Berghotel befindet sich in einer sensationell schönen Lage über dem Saastal. Hier endet im Sommer die Straße, was uns sehr gut gefallen hat. Die Unterkunft war mit allem ausgestattet, was wir benötigten, das Personal extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Mahlzeiten waren sehr schmackhaft und zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit.
Die Renovierungsarbeiten waren in Teilen noch nicht abgeschlossen, was wir jedoch nicht als störend empfunden.

Reviewed Apr 20, 2025Very nice location right next to the skiing slope. The rooms are simple but cosy and comfortable. We also really enjoyed the dinner, which was delicious!
It is important to note that in winter, there is no road up to the hotel. You need to take a chairlift which only runs until 4 pm - otherwise, it’s a 40 min hike up. Make sure to keep this in mind when planning your arrival!

Reviewed Sep 8, 2024The staff was fantastic, there was a big storm that caused the main road to the berghotel being blocked. They checked on me regularly to make sure I was fine and made every effort to make my stay comfortable despite the disruption. Not withstanding the issues with the road the location is really nice for hiking. The food and the breakfast were great too!

Reviewed Dec 27, 2023The stay was perfect to us, amazing host, absolutely perfect and huge meals, owners always friendly and willing to help and advise. We went hiking around, took a look to the Mattmark Dam and went hiking around Matterhorn for one day. The hotel was accesible by car (end of September). By the time we went the house was partly under construction so it will be even nicer by now.

Very cosy mountain hotel in Furgstalden above Saas Amagell with very nice and helpful hosts. Cosy rooms, the shared bathrooms are spotlessly clean, towels are provided, hearty 4-course dinner included in the halfboard, the breakfast was great, too. Very reasonably priced, you get more comfort for the price of a mountain hut stay (or less).

Reviewed Aug 8, 2023Owners are truly dig friends, flexible, hospitable, you breath a very familiar atmosphere. The location is easy accessible, but remote enough to guarantee the mountain peace.
The only little thing, in our room the curtain was quite thin and the light was passing well through.
