Moderne, gemütliche DNT Hütte in einer spektakulären Umgebung mit Blick auf Gletscher und Berge. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für eine Wanderung zum Austerdalsbreen. Familiäre Atmosphäre mit sehr nettem Personal. Wichtig zu wissen: Man kann ein leckeres Dreigangmenu am Abend dazubuchen für 550 NOK, dass besser ist als das Standard Berghüttenmenu! Man kann mit dem Auto bis zur Hütte fahren, muss aber weiter unten im Tal 70 NOKMaut bezahlen (bar oder Karte)

Tungestølen es el lugar perfecto para experimentar la belleza de Noruega. La ubicación, en medio de un valle glacial, es inigualable. El diseño de los edificios es de la mano de la firma de arquitectura más reconocida del país, y crea espacios cómodos donde sentirte como en casa mientras admiras las montañas. El personal es super amable, atento, y en seguida te hacer sentir como en familia. El desayuno incluido es un buffet espectacular con varias opciones vegetarianas.

El precio de la cena es realmente caro. En cuanto al alojamiento en general, el precio es un poco elevado, pero una vez llegas allí y ves dónde está y la calidad de los edificios y el calor humano del personal, te das cuenta de que el precio está más que justificado.

The best place I've ever been to!!!!

Came here as a solo traveler and the location is incredible! I couldn't believe where this beautiful cabin is located. The best part and the best scenery of my trip. The cabin is pristine and clean. They have a lovely (expensive - 550kr) dinner at night that is the only option. They worked around my allergies and dietary restrictions. Breakfast was wonderful and included! The cabins and rooms are clean and roomy and have wonderful views

Water turned freezing cold quite early ~ 8pm at night. There is no clear description that there is limited cabin water supply. It was difficult to shower after the hike. Dinner is incredibly expensive - 550kr and really small portions. Especially in an area where most hike. Not description discussed this. There is no shared kitchen to use, so you can't cook. They have very limited options for food and it is not a restaurant with various options. Just 1-2, and it can be tough if you don't eat meat. I basically went hungry for lunch, until dinner. The nearest market is 15 minutes down the road (small) so bring your OWN FOOD! Sheets are seperate 100 NOK, on top of reservation and pricey dinner. Front desk girl was quite rude, but the rest of the staff were incredibly nice and friendly.

The meals were carefully made and very delicious, the facility is nearly perfect, and the staff was great to talk with.

The cost of the dinner (while not extortionate and very much worth it) was not disclosed when booking. Otherwise everything was amazing!

Absolut perfect location and host. We had a nice walk to the glacier and after a perfect dinner. We can recommend it to everyone to make this nice experience.

Tungestolen is amazing! Jorn is a gracious host with mad cooking skills! Our family was thrilled with our stay here. Complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We paid extra for dinner both nights and it was well worth it. The views everywhere are incredible, the facilities very clean. When we weren't hiking, we relaxed in the main building with endless coffee, tea, and serenity.

As an "older" person, it was a bit inconvenient to make those "middle-of-the-night pit stops" as you have to walk over to the restroom/shower building. However, I would (and will) stay here again as that is a minor disadvantage compared with the experience of staying at Tungestolen.

It‘s been really a dream, really nice and caring hosts, amazing location and facilities! We wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful place!

How the buildings are so much part of its surrounding and community. Had a wonderful stay in the dorm room on a quiet day. Shared a few special conversations with others. It’s a place where you should honestly stay longer….

The cabin at Tungestolen is a little slice of heaven. The views are spectacular, the ambiance is calm, relaxing and welcoming. The staff are friendly and kind. I opted for dinner which was incredible, and had a real family feel which was wonderful. Breakfast was great too! I’d go back in a heartbeat.

The check in process was maybe a little too casual. I’d have loved someone run down key things like: dinner timings (7:30 fixed), check out times, show me where things are, and explain breakfast times etc. But people were friendly and helpful when I asked. Also the showers are communal (divided by male & female) so for the British this can be jarring 🤣.

Extremely amazing location and architecture. Staff was mixed- some really nice, some quite disengaged. For a mountain hut really nice beds and shower facilities. Would def stay again.
