It is my 2nd time, staying in Publikhaus. The owner is very friendly, location is great and the room with fridge is good to have. Definitely coming back!

Would be nice if the shower had a bit more pressure but it is a minor thing.

Great facilities, lovely owner, and we loved Charlie :)

The pulikhaus is close to the port hospitality is excellent and the owners are really really nice the rooms are spotless .

Все чисто по домашнему.Нина супер.Дорога к дому плохая.Пляжей чтоб купаться толком нет.а те что есть платные от 100 до 400 пессо да и то не очень.море до обеда нет.Вокруг поесть негде.толькл если ехать в Бабак.Выручило что ездили в Давао на пароме. по торговым центрам там и кормились .В этом месте скучно делать нечего.Никаких развлечений.

Publikhaus is very clean and feels like home. Has a rooftop with relaxing vibe and pleasant views. The owner is also nice and helps us on all our requests.

Not the property but the road leading to the property is quite rough. But the baobao’s are already used to it.

- Walking distance to the main passenger ferry terminal (coming from Davao City). - Very warm and approachable owner + friendly pet dog. - Very comfortable mattress. - Patio is good for relaxing and having a meal. - Shared pantry and utensils are clean. - Room comes with minibar and the drinks are reasonably priced. - Room comes with a standing fan as an alternative to the a/c.

- The a/c in the room can be a bit loud.

Near the wharf and affordable. Nina was very accommodating and I love the energy of the house. Good value for money.

We had a great stay here! The place was very clean and well-maintained. Its location near Samal wharf made getting around really easy, with quick access to the beautiful beaches in Samal. The owner was especially helpful and accommodating, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Very clean place to stay. Bed is very comfortable and the room is so cozy.

Didn't expect the room to be spacious, which is really nice. The place is noticeably clean and well-kept. It was nice that they have a rooftop where we can spend some time. It would also be better to extend a roof there so guests can still stay even if it rains. Overall, my friend and I had a satisfied overnight stay. And it was easily accessible and near to ferry and other establishments.

The staff was exceptional went above and beyond. It was a beautiful place to stay with everything you need. So comfortable.

The place is quiet and very clean, owner and staff are really friendly and helpfull. What we liked most was the rooftop patio and the central location.

This was our little paradise on Samal. Perfectly clean and comfortable and just a short walk to everything we needed. Staff were always smiling and helpful. Whether you get a terrace or a balcony room, it will be a perfect place to chill on those languid island nights!

My family were able to walk comfortably to Publikhaus with our luggages from the ferry terminal in 5min. Our host was very friendly and we appreciated her patience and resourcefulness to advise our itinerary on the island. She also helped recommend island hopping service provider and nearby restaurants for meals.

New clean very well presented. Owner was lovely allowed us to drop our bags when we got of the ferry until our room was ready. Also had secure parking for our bikes. Very comfy bed. Great aircon and calling fan.

there is a very short inner road going to the guest house that is not paved. if by chance we brought a sedan car, we may not be able to drive through it. hopefully this concern is going to be addressed soon.

We had an amazing stay here. The location is perfect — close to the port and very easy to find. The place was super clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. A special thank you to the host — she was incredibly warm, friendly, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Her hospitality truly made our stay memorable. We give her the highest rating for kindness and care. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Samal Island.

We had an amazing stay at Publikhaus. The place is very clean and well-kept, and its location is super convenient, just a short walk from the port, which makes traveling around the island so easy. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. What really stood out was the warm hospitality of Ms. Nina and her assistant Ate Kristine, they were both so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. They made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. I highly recommend Publikhaus Samal to anyone visiting Samal Island, its the perfect combination of comfort, cleanliness, and genuine Filipino hospitality! 🌴✨

The place is amazingly clean & comfortable. This is near the main ferry terminal which is convenient for those who have had a long day and want somewhere local to stay. It’s close to the town also for convenience.

Room is spacious with good lighting, all furniture are well maintained and new-looking! Bed is comfortable to sleep in 😌

Maybe the towel could be more absorbent! Glass door is a mirror from the outside, birds bumped on it. We feel sorry for birdie 😅

I love the location! Once you get off the barge, it’s just under a 10-minute walk to get there. I really liked my bedroom — it overlooks the ocean, and the view is beautiful, especially if you want to relax or reflect out on the balcony. The owners and caretaker are very kind and accommodating. They would check in on me from time to time and even suggest nearby places to walk around and explore. They have a shared kitchen where you can cook rice, wash utensils, and use hot or cold water. There are also convenience stores around the area, so it’s easy to buy food outside. Plus, the place is close to other beaches and resorts — perfect if you enjoy walking and exploring. Transportation is also super easy!

room was small (stated on site: 20m2, in real: about 12m2) patio not with protecting roof as shown on the site (uninstalled) also no sun protection, often toxic smell from burning garbage in neighbourhood always bad smell of sewer pipe in bathroom, always wet ground before toilet of accumulated shower water which cant flow off

Host was super accomodating and super friendly! Responded promptly and provided help when needed during our stay. Everyone was comfortable during the stay. Good for the price. I would recommend if you have a big group that could fit all the rooms so it's just you and your guests rather than sharing with strangers.

Location was alright. Very easy to get to from the wharf, though you wouldn't go here for nice views. Neighbours were quite loud at the time too.

Although I arrived on motorcycle this place is within walking distance from one of the ferry services ...easy check in and communication with the owner...Very clean and neat and although it is near the main road of the coast...it was very quiet at night. Great big balcony on the top floor was really nice...close to all shops in the area... really enjoyed our stay....just over the road from many beach resorts.

The location is close to the ferry and a few local beach resorts, but the road leading to the hotel is in very poor condition, so bikes or 4x4 vehicles are best. We took a minibus up there and it was pretty hairy

Clean, convenient, great location by the port. The house staff is very kind & considerate.

The beds were soft and comfortable, the room smelled nice and clean. The kitchen was apt for our purposes. Overall, good bang for buck. Highly recommended. Thank you miss Nina.

The building is very new & clean, besides it is very near to the wharf/walking distance. Staff & hosts are very approachable & accomodable. If you are new travelers in Samal, you can rent their own car/motorcycle, & advised for nice beaches/ tourist area to visit. The place is worthy for the price. Well recommended to some other guests visiting in Samal.

Of course you need to follow the rules & regulations set up by the owner for safety purpose. If you are walking or riding the car the road is rough, but the area is very nice.

The host Nina and the caretaker Ate Cristine were so accommodating, we totally feel that we are welcome.

-Staff was exceptional, very kind and supportive in everything -Clean room, had everything we needed, even a fridge and charged mini fan and lamp due to often power cuts. - clean shared kitchen -next to the port -mosquito net on the windows

-Noisy air condition, but this is very common in the island -Many roosters (maybe more than 10), next to the property make so much noise starting from 2 am in the morning until 10 am.If you are not a really deep sleeper it's not possible to sleep even with ear plugs.

Every detail, from the plush furnishings to the serene outdoor space, was thoughtfully designed for relaxation. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay—this place is a hidden gem! Far from nice beaches but if you rent a motorcycle you can always explore the island

Nina was a great host and made me feel comfortable staying there. She was very helpful in getting everything sorted out during my stay. I love the location as it is near the port but still located in a quiet area. Would return here should I decide to do another staycation.

The owner Nina is amazing!! She helps me find things to do, eat, go. 3 minutes by walk from the Ferry terminal and convenience store. You def should rent a scooter. I was moving around the island by myself the entire trip and it was FUN. Very clean room comes with a mini fridge and AC. The bathroom was also very clean which I appreciate A LOT as a picky Japanese lol.

Very nice air conditioned room with mini fridge and clean bathroom in a provincial setting just 5 minutes from where the Sasa ferry arrives. You can walk it. It is about 400 meters. No taxi or tricycle needed. You can find the exact location using the app Waze. There is a shared kitchen you can use to make coffee or tea, toast or a simple meal. Good value for money.
