The house was really cold, so any heaters would have been much appreciated.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026The hosts were very engaging to try and assist while the town was out of electricity. The house was very comfortable. The decor and attention to detail, form blankets to the stocked kitchen, all exceptional. Highly recommend for a big family or close friends. Thank you Jan & Monet!

Nothing but the house could use heaters or electric blankets in winter as it can get cold in the bedrooms. Extra blankets in winter could be very useful as well. Overall, the house is beautiful.

Reviewed Nov 24, 2025Sehr schön groß und geräumig, Küche, Wohnzimmer und 2 Schlafzimmer haben Klimaanlage. Küche sehr gut ausgestattet (Siebträger Maschine inkl. Kaffee), nur Besteck und war etwas knapp. Bequeme Betten, der Pool ist kleine aber nett insbesondere für Kinder (da nicht sehr tief) Fussläufig sind 2 leckere Restaurants (Nostalgie Restaurant und etwas feiner Jemimas). Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden es bei einem Besuch wieder wählen, hat Platz für 7 Personen.
Mehr Besteck wäre super gewesen und der Pool war nach 3 Tagen etwas trüb (also Jammern auch sehr hohem Niveau)

The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need for a BBQ and for dinner, with pots, pans, and some spices. There was plenty of room in each bedroom and living room. It was quiet at night. Looks exactly like the photos! The owners of the property were very responsive on text. The properly was also right by a petrol station and restraurants, including Nostalgie which is a must for Oudtshoorn. This stay worked perfectly for us as we did fieldwork in the area of Cango Caves, a very short drive.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2025Large, newly renovated with everything that one might need, thought of. Well equipped kitchen. When we phoned to let Jan, our host, know that we were arriving late, he made sure to have the lights switched on before our arrival.
The mattress in the main bedroom was super hard, unfortunately. Easily solved with a mattress topper.

Reviewed May 20, 2025Was a fabulous stay. So much thought was given with coffee, rusks, tea and milk in fridge. There were even enough dishwasher and washing powder to use the machines. Fire lighters, wood and matches were supplied too. Pity we couldnt have spent more time there. Loved it. The stoep is magical! Thank you

A second set of keys could have been advantageous for the times when our small group split up.

Reviewed Feb 25, 2025Highgate Ostrich Farm tour with Gerry - excellent. Very informative. Town easy to navigate. Some fabulous shops. The house is very comfortable with plenty of amenities. Nice to have a pool to cool off. Power loadsharing during our stay but no big problem.

The rooms was spacious with beautiful bathrooms, liked the shower in the main bedroom the most. Children loved that there was wifi and the pool mostly. Liked that is was close to all the necessary shops needed.

Reviewed Nov 10, 2024From the front door thru the rooms out to the back with a view on the swimming pool. Excellent. Everything in the house was clean, crisp and white linen thru out all of the rooms. The kitchen was stocked with all the coffee machines. A fresh sourdough bread and lots of butter was waiting to be eaten. The best EVER.
