From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly hosts who went above and beyond to ensure every guest had a great experience. The ambience of the hostel was just perfect—calm, vibrant, and social, making it easy to relax and meet fellow travelers. The common areas were beautifully designed, offering cozy spaces to unwind, read, or have great conversations. The rooms and dorms were spotless, well-maintained, and had comfortable beds, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The location is just a short walk from the North Cliff, making it super convenient to access the stunning beaches, cafes, and shops while still enjoying a peaceful and relaxing stay. The hostel had a great sense of community and an overall welcoming vibe that made my trip even more memorable. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly stay near Varkala’s North Cliff with excellent hospitality, Ostello is the place to be. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back!

The volunteers we encountered are also so incredibly helpful and nice (shout out Salmi and Francesca) Very very happy because it was just so comfortable and the host was so welcoming. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everything was comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I truly felt at home. I would definitely love to visit again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay in Varkala!

Reviewed Feb 13, 2025The owner was nice but had multiple restrictions. We were not allowed to wear our footwear inside the room, we were not allowed to eat comfortably there were insects in the room. We paid 3.8k for 1 night and yet no water bottles or tea/coffee and dental kit were provided in the room. The cupboard was locked and kept as a show piece. His pet kept running on the terrace which made us stay up all night. Music was played really loud unnecessarily. Breakfast was also not included in the amount. I would rate the overall stay as 2/5 as it was not worth the money

I was working all the time from their, So Fransisca brought fruits for me and she didn't take money for that. They have a big heart and Krieve is always ready to bring anything you need from market anytime. He is a very Hard working guy. They made me feel like a Family....

Reviewed Feb 9, 2025The building is very new and the rooms and facilities are very nicely designed , it is a small kitchen for the guests too which is great , the location is very close to the Varkala beach and are plenty of shops and restaurants around , the manager Reeves and the staff and volunteers are super friendly and helpful and the place has a very nice vibe making it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay

Since its a new hostel there were a few shortcomings like sometimes the water used to get cut out due to a manual water system but once reported to the manager gets fixed quickly
