Very unique experience to stay in a bamboo villa. Super friendly and warm staff - they really take care of you well. You can do a massage in your alfresco, its pretty cool.

Smell of burned garbage (fault of the city, not of the hotel). Lots of wild dogs and narrow streets with lots of traffic makes going-for-a-walk nearly impossible (not fault of the hotel neither).

A truly special place. You sink into the quiet almost automatically — all you hear is the river and the sounds of nature. The villas are beautiful, each with its own pool. After full days out on Bali, this is exactly the retreat you hope for. But the very best part is the service. Sri and the whole team were incredibly warm and did so much for us — nothing was ever too much trouble. We felt completely at home from the first moment. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful accommodation right in the jungle. Food is provided by 2 local restaurants and is fantastic. Best of all though is the staff. They are so nice and helpful and always do everything to make you happy.

For us, this was the perfect stay! Away from tourism, your own private space and the greatest service! The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet, and they always take care of you. The hotel works together with the best restaurants and masseuses. We would come here again without any doubt!

Wat een bijzondere plek! Wij zijn hier 4 nachten verbleven na 8 dagen hectisch rondreizen op Java. We zijn door 3 man sterk zeer fijn ontvangen en zijn door het hele team gedurende ons verblijf waanzinnig verzorgd. Het personeel is behulpzaam, alert en op een zeer persoonlijke wijze gasvrij. Ze staat de hele dag tot je beschikking via Whatsapp of bij de receptie. De accommodaties bevinden zich iets afgelegener wat voor veel rust zorgt. De locatie is uniek, schoon en het slaapgedeelte is goed afgesloten waardoor de airco zijn werk kan doen. Wij kozen er voor om veel tijd in het verblijf te besteden en te genieten van de rust. Met een scooter of Grab kan je overal binnen no time komen. Via het verblijf kan je ook vervoer organiseren. Wij kozen voor de scooter voor een dag, na wat wennen is dit heel goed te doen! Er zitten nabij degelijke restaurants voor je ontbijt, lunch, diner. Verder hebben ze een samenwerking met 2 restaurants waar doormiddel van een a la carte menu er besteld kan worden op de kamer. Verder is bestellen via Grab ook een optie :). We hebben wat geckos en kikkers gezien maar konden geen andere dieren vinden ;) Muggen hebben we minimaal last van gehad! We zouden dit verblijf 100% aanraden en graag terugkomen.

Peaceful, private and surrounded by nature, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff could not do enough for me—they were incredibly helpful, welcoming and genuinely wonderful hosts.

Ormanın içerisinde olmasına rağmen bir tane dahi böcek veya türevi bir hayvan görmedik. Atmosfer mükemmeldi. Bizimle inanılmaz iyi ilgilendiler ve tüm personel çok güler yüzlü davrandı. Temizliği de gayet iyiydi. Çok güzeldi

La villa construida completamente de bambú es una pasada. No falta de nada, cuenta con una cocina completa un baño con todo lo necesario, una habitación super grande y cómoda y lo mejor de todo la zona de estar con un sofá y una mesita junto a la piscina. Muy recomendable para desconectar del ruido y respirar naturaleza. Gracias a Sri por la atención y su amabilidad, un gusto tratar con gente tan amable,servicial y educada!!

La ubicación hace que sea difícil de encontrar, nos costó llegar el primer día y cada vez que pedíamos un coche les costaba encontrar la ubicación. Pero el personal nos hecho una mano en todo momento.

Mahajiva was the perfect place to end our trip in Bali. After a busy and adventure-filled week along the coast, arriving here felt like stepping into complete calm. It was the ideal way to unwind and reset before heading home. The facilities are absolutely beautiful and impeccably clean, with such a peaceful atmosphere throughout. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made the entire experience feel even more special. We also booked a 90-minute massage at our villa, and it was exceptional. As a fun bonus, we even spotted (and heard!) a Tokay gecko, which felt like such a unique Bali moment. After spending time in very busy, tourist-heavy areas, I had built up a bit of underlying anxiety, but it completely melted away the moment we arrived at Mahajiva. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Bali who wants a serene, beautiful escape.

Onze eerste paar dagen hebben we bij Mahajiva mogen doorbrengen. Wat een prachtige plek is dit! De bamboo villa was super schoon en de combinatie van binnen en buiten maakt het een bijzondere plek en ervaring. Daarnaast zorgde het personeel voor een dagelijkse schoonmaakservice, bestelde, bracht en serveerde zelfs het eten, en zorgde daarnaast nog voor muggenwerende spullen. Geen vraag was teveel, heel veel complimenten aan het personeel, wij komen hier graag terug!🌴🦎

The view and environment was amazing, calming river sounds and nature. Staff were one of the friendliest ive had the pleasure of being taken care of by. Overall it was the genuinely one of the most pleasant places ive stayed in. 10/10

This place will exceed your expectations. We were met by 4 staff members, who whisked our bags away. Whilst another staff member guided us down the path to the reception desk. We were then shown to our bungalow and offered an upgrade. After selection our bungalow, the staff connected with us via Whatsapp, which was such a great way to communicate with the staff at any time of day. They provided menus for local restaurants, we placed a dinner order, which the staff went and collected for us, then instead of just handing us a bag with our food. They requested access to our bungalow and plated the meal for us, then advised to text when we had finished our meal and come and cleaned up, washed the dishes and turned down the beds for us. They also sprayed for mosquitoes and lit a mozzie coil to help keep them away during the night. The staff also arranged transport at 5:30am to take us to a wedding ceremony and then picked us up afterward at no extra charge (so we just left a tip for them). So lovely, thoughtful and what a great place. The private plunge pool is heaven. I highly recommended Mahajiva and look forward to returning soon.

I went during the wet season. Although staff were amazing at keeping them at bay. The stair into the bedroom were quiet steep be mindful if you have accessibility issues.

Host were welcoming and friendly they took care of our stay really well. They made sure we were comfortable with our stay.

As mentioned there are insects and mosquitoes for which the property takes actions but there are accidental encounters

This was the best choice for a bamboo villa in Bali. Instead of booking a higher-cost bamboo villa, this one offered excellent value. Siri and the rest of the staff were extremely kind and helpful, which was another major highlight of our stay. The forest views, along with the soothing sound of the river at night, created a very peaceful atmosphere. The pool and overall experience were excellent and truly made our stay magical. The villa’s main highlights were its beautiful aesthetics, stunning views, and unique three-level layout, with the swimming pool on one level, the common area and kitchen on another, and the bedroom on the top floor. The staff provided cleaning twice a day. In the evening, they prepared the bed with mosquito repellent and fresh water bottles. They paid attention to every small detail, even offering us umbrellas when we stepped out in light rain, without us having to ask. This villa also offers a proper air conditioner in bedroom which many other villas were missing, This is very important for hot weather of Bali.

The best villa I've ever lived. Nature, jungles, river nearby, friendly staff who is always ready to assist you. My expectations are exceeded, would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

What a stunning property. Everything was perfect and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Very private. Falling asleep to the sound of the river was perfect. Even had an Ebony Leaf monkey visit our villa! We will be back!!

발리에서 묵었던 숙소 중에 제일 오래도록 그리울것 같은 숙소입니다!(저는 리뷰 귀찮아서 절대 안남기는데, 너무 좋았어서 남깁니다) 숙소 컨디션도 완벽했는데, 직원분들도 너무 친절하고 좋았습니다! 숲속에서 새소리와 바람소리를 들으면서 너무 아름다운 숙소에서 지냈습니다. 숲속이라 벌레도 많을거 같지만, 직원분들이 관리를 잘해줘서 불편함이 없었습니다. 이쁜 숙소에서 가끔 수영도 하면서 자연을 느끼면서 쉬면서 지내고 싶은 분들, mahajiva 강력 추천합니다. 다시 발리로 놀러 오게되면 Mahajiva는 다시 숙박하고 싶어요! 감사합니다!

First of all, Elsya, Sri and Ari were very kind. And the guy who ride motorcycle with me to the ATM machine was sincerely nice as well. The room was very private, so that we can enjoy the time there. Towels and bed smelled nice, everything was very clean. We used 6 hotels on this trip and Mahajiva was the best out of all. Strongly recommended.

The water of pool was cold little bit. And if you take long shower, the water will be not hot enough as time goes by.

The attention to detail, the kindness and accommodation of the staff, everything was above and beyond. Spent my birthday here and Mahajiva made it the perfect birthday. Slept like a log due to the sound of nature (river, birds, etc)

Mahajiva is absolutely beautiful. We loved every moment of our stay and never wanted to leave. The staff are absolutely amazing we especially loved the head of security, Sri, and the lady who worked the day they were all wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Everyone was so kind and helpful from the beginning of our stay until the end—we felt like we were in a very special place. The bungalow and its pool add a special touch. We loved the morning yoga session. We also needed some help withdrawing money, and they were very helpful in giving us a ride to the nearest ATM. The food ordering system is so convenient, and they responded incredibly quickly to messages. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone and can't wait to come back in the future.

This accomodation was outstanding, the nature was gorgeous, also the infinity pool was relaxing and the water was refreshing in this hot climate. The personal cared about us with love and helped us with everything we needed also with scooter rental. My girlfrined wasnt good for a few days and personal made more times gingertea... The stairs to the bedroom were very steep and felt dangerous, more like climbing a ladder than stairs. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay again simply for this reason, everything else was great.

Mahajiva is a hidden paradise awaiting for the extra adventurous traveler. I love the seclusion of the villa. It is away from the touristy spots in Bali which is surrounded by the sound of the gushing Ayung River along with the sound of some exotic birds. The villa amenities are complete. What I like the most is the overall design and comfort during my stay. Being close to the jungle can be done in style here.

Have in mind that insects, leaping and crawling animals are present in Mahajiva. Nature has its companions and it is a part of Mahajiva's charm. Make sure to use an insect repellant.
