The property is newly built, spotlessly clean, and feels like a 5-star hotel. The staff are extremely polite and friendly. Its location is fantastic. just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by a great variety of restaurants.

Sound insulation is a major issue here. The rooms aren't noise-proof, so you hear constant train traffic and horns day and night. Worse still, the nearby clubs and restaurants blast extremely loud music. I had to endure around 80dB noise until 1 AM on a Monday. Light sleepers should definitely bring earplugs.

The property is located right next to the railway tracks, which resulted in considerable noise. The room was not soundproof, and the window was not properly sealed on all sides, allowing additional noise to enter.

The sound isolation is really really bad you can hear every train going nearby and every car Also the cleaning is every 2 days not daily and the facility is far from city center

No balcony, impolite and rude security staff doesn’t know how to welcome guests. Rooftop area had no access when we wanted to go get fresh air.felt stuck than relaxing. Many rules like a private residency hence not aligned with friendly hotel environment.

This place is a very modern hotel with a nice view, at good location. The place is clean and bed is comfortable. Unlike most of Sri Lanka, there is enough towels in the bathroom, drinking water, coffee/tea, smart TV; all in all very good hotel with great potential

As others have said - the noise :((( they need to upgrade their isolation FAST, cause it's definitely gonna impact the rating of the hotel. The road noise is next level - it feels like the window is open all the time, I had to wear earplugs all the time… It's definitely unbearable and it's a shame cause the hotel has potential. Please fix it :(

I had a wonderful stay at 50 by the Sea. The location is absolutely perfect, right next to the beach, offering beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. The room and overall hotel were very clean, well-maintained and spacious, making the stay extremely comfortable. The staff were also very helpful, friendly and always ready to assist with anything needed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient seaside stay.

It would also be very helpful if laundry and ironing services were provided as this would make the stay even more convenient and comfortable.

Had a wonderful stay in 50 by he Sea, Colombo. The hotel was very well maintained, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff provided friendly and helpful service throughout our stay. The rooftop was a brilliant spot to relax and watch the sunset, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommended place to stay. Thank you for the great hospitality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The only minor drawback was that there was no rug or floor mat in the room, which would have made it a bit more comfortable.

Some people may find the location noisy, trains and traffic, but this didn't bother us as it is a city location.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und der Blick aufs Meer über die Palmen waren super! Wir wurden nett empfangen und das Personal war lieb! Unten gab es eine Security, was sich sicher angefühlt hat! Ausstattung war auch top!

The big street and the train right in front of the building was unfortunately very loud. It was also a little further away from Colombo city center than we would've thought.

It was clean, the bed was big and comfy. Shower worked well and the AC too.

No soundproofing at all, when the trains go by in the morning feels like it's driving through the house.

It is a modern and comfortable room. Everything was clean and the bed is really good. The staff is very nice too. And Nishan is a very nice host. There’s a very nice bakery downstairs as well. Only thing is it is located very close to the railway road and a main road. For me it was fine. Because right after the railway is full of many less touristic cafes. With fresh seafood.

I recently visited Colombo for 5 days in October 2025 and stayed at 50 by the Sea - Had an excellent stay there and all my expectations were met - at times went above the expectations also. The apartment looks very new, is very well maintained and most importantly, its extremely clean. Ive visited Colombo many times and many times, I faced the issue of not so clean bathrooms at some residences - at 50 by the Sea, the bathrooms were so clean and neat that it looked like a 5 star hotel's washroom ( I am from luxury hospitality background, so I can assure you of this high, comparable quality at this place ) - The staff were extremely polite and helpful - I had a few encounters with their housekeeping team and security team - very warm, friendly and helpful. I requested for a few things during my stay and got immediate assistance. The Reservations Manager, Ms Shehara is very kind & approachable - she would often call me to check how I was doing and if everything was ok . The rooms are good in size for single travelers and couples - overlooking the Mt Lavinia beach and beautiful sea view. Any drawbacks ? Well, depending on what you are looking for : * The facility doesn't have its own dining outlet - which is not a big issue as there are many outlets nearby , walking distance. * The accommodation is very close to the Mt Lavinia Railway track so there is plenty of noise - may disturb some and some may find it hard to sleep - for me it was not a big issue

W ciągu dnia i w nocy bardzo głośno w apartamentach z widokiem na morze. Sam śpię bardzo “twardo” jednak okna są na tyle cienkie, że wielokrotnie budziłem się w nocy
