Location for where i was going for the day. Good food in the bar and not expensive.
Stairs to the room. Because of knee problems I couldn't have a shower as this was over a bath. Toilet seat broke but it was quickly fixed when I reported it.
Staff were so friendly and smiley and always rushed over to tend to you. Breakfast options fantastic, breakfast staff member fantastic service and so nice.
Room was comfortable, bedding and towels really clean. Room in general a little musty I had to have the door open for a bit to air it, window stayed open at all times. Cobwebs and spiders in the room. Dusty in places, and looking a little worn. Radiator woke me up during the night making a clicking sound. Clean surfaces and good enough for clean comfortable stay. Just feel a deep clean is needed.
Convenient overnight stop on our way to visit the National Space Centre in Leicester Lovely staff and a decent pint in the pub, though we didn't eat there Quite worn accommodation - but the bed was comfy and clean. The radiators were a bit rusty! But not an issue and good value
Finding it bizarrely Both Waze and the link on Booking.com took us to the wrong place, and at night it was a bit annoying. Google Maps worked in the end but be warned if you book with Booking.com you might not end up in the right place!
Comfy bed. Good sized room. Perfect location for the Victory Show. The staff were friendly, check-in was straightforward.
The toilet hadn’t been flushed when we arrived at our room. There was no soap in the bathroom sink dispenser. The plumbing was extremely noisy and prevented sleep. The radiators in the room were rusty. The windows didn’t shut easily and the place generally looked tired and run down.
I did not have the breakfast. But the hotel is very convenient for me to use you again soon.
I was quite content plus it was very convenient..
Comfortable rooms. Nice pub with good food. Gtreat value for money
a bit of road noise
It was convenient for the event we were attending.
It was convenient but the whole place was ‘unloved’, rubbish everywhere outside, damaged paintwork, coat hooks hangs off & overgrown greenery. It needs some work!
Food was lovely. Value for money
Nothing to not like
A very nice and comfortable place to stay. The staff were very welcoming and so helpful. The room was clean and well maintained and the bed was very comfortable.

Very friendly staff. Good Location, Good pub adjacent . Comfy Beds
The annex building appears to have been constructed with macerator waste pumps for toilet and sinks. This are clearly quite old an noisy now. The vibration of these could be heard right throughout the building. Anyone using the toilet late evening, through the night, in the morning sent reverberating sounds that would wake you up (even if a couple of rooms away). The facilities are clean, but rooms starting to look a bit tired. You get what you pay for......but the noise would put me off returning.
Convenient Location….was good for what we needed. Friendly staff
Booked a room for a family of 4 but when we arrived room only had one bed, went to reception to inform them and was told yes but there is a sofa bed! …..although it hadn’t been set up ready for our arrival and was no bedding for it, staff did rectify the problem and tried to find what was needed and was sorted in around 20 minutes but also only had 2 towels between the 4 of us until the 2nd day and had to share the pillows from the main bed as told no extra pillows. Bed was very hard. Breakfast was ok but not very organised 1st day Cereals but no milk and green/furry fruit in fruit bowl. 2nd day glasses but no juice.
The staff were brilliant, engaging without over familiarity.
We didn't get room 7 which we were given before and was a nightmare for my wife. She was kept awake by the incessant on / off of a pump somewhere above our ceiling. Lovely place but needs modernisation of the heating and plumbing.
Breakfast was adequate but not exceptional. Staff were friendly and helpful Evening meal was to a high standard.

The accommodation was excellent clean and every one needs
Two chairs
The room was spacious, there was a fan (which was welcome in this current heatwave), an iron and ironing board in room. The bed was very comfortable too.
There was nothing to not like.
Nice comfortable room and good restaurant
Section of false eyelash in one of the towels Very poor water pressure through taps and shower
WELL EQUIPPED ROOM WITH COMFORTABLE BED. REASONABLY PRICED FOOD IN RESTAURANT. AN ENJOYABLE STAY.
Mattress comfortable. IPA was good. Reception team pleasant and helpful.
Bedroom decor mediocre and fading. Breakfast overall disappointing. Tables in main eating area not well cleaned. Seating cushioning picked at and spilling out.
Good location - a nice setting near the river, and convenient for where I needed to be the day after my stay. Close to the main road, but wasn't affected by road noise. Staff were friendly, service was efficient and food was fine and good value.
There was some persistent noise in my room overnight from some sort of plumbing / pump. I didn't find it a huge issue but a light sleeper probably would have found it disturbing. Room and grounds were a little run down. The room was clean but really needs redecorating / updating and a better wifi signal. The grounds were a little untidy. With a bit of refurbishment and maintenance, this could be a fantastic place but it's not meeting its potential at the moment.
Good access and clean facilities
Overall impression was a little worn out
Room Bathroom Breakfast and Food at Night too
As we didn't have a car we tried to walk up to Broughton Astley but the grass verge was too small and traffic was coming down so we turned around and came back to Mill and just chilled out. As we was there for a funeral on the Wednesday afternoon Which wasn't The Mills fault
Location was good.
Room was dirty with thick dirt on windows, radiators and floors. Area outside window was covered in rubbish. Water flow from shower was low and lukewarm warm. Restaurant was short of staff with long wait to be served. Part of order was missed, other food was cold and only delivered after complaints. Steak was very overcooked and not edible. Money was refunded after complaining but we didn’t eat there the 2nd night. Original booking said breakfast included but made to pay in the morning.
The location was good, easy to get to
The room was not clean. Bathroom smelled mouldy, there was mould in the bathroom. It was really dirty. The carpet wasn't clean and there was mould and dust everywhere in the room The wardrobe doors we unsafe and hard to open and close. Overall, really dissatisfied.
Ambience and staff helpfulness
Windows, window and door frames, and bathrooms were not as clean as expected.
Breakfast was poor, no interaction with staff, no offer of hot food
Breakfast
Location and that it does overnight camper stays in the car park.
I can’t specify which room i want on booking.com
Nice clean room Excellent value for food in the pub
Nice room
So hot!! Couldn’t open some windows
Breakfast was acceptable.
Evening dinner left a lot to be desired. The staff were unprofessional
Clean tidy and very helpful staff
Phone charger plug didn't work.staff helped me by lending a charger so all good
As usual everything was great and the staff were lovely and very helpful food was always fresh and hot
Comfortable bed. Good shower. Fluffy white towels. Easy and secure parking.
Restaurant food was very poor standard but upon making staff aware a full refund was given. Room was a chalet style and access was right across car park and up a full flight of steps with no lift if needed. A very noisy water generator to the whole of this block of rooms which made a loud rhythmic noise all through the night and became much louder everytime anyone used a tap or flushed the toilet. It was like water torture all night long! No staff available after the adjoining pub was closed. We will never consider staying here again!
Convenient for where I wanted to be. Good breakfast. Fair price.
Pipes in "motel part" where I stayed on last visit were very loud and frequent sounding - when ever water was put on in adjacent rooms.
Location and value for money
USB socket did not work
Restaurant and roo great
I was woken up at 4 in the morning by some sort of pump running up in the ceiling god knows what it was but it was irritating enough to stop me getting back to sleep totally knackered the next day at an event and had to cut short so really spoiled the day
Lovely local place to us ; great for a stay over 😀
Liked everything ;
Well turned out and good location.
Initial inter action with management could have been better but all came to a satisfactory conclusion.
Sunday roast
Television not working
Staff were lovely
Food in restaurant to be avoided.
Staff were brilliant. Restaurant was the best value for money I have seen in years. Its no Michelin Starred venue but the food was piping hot and quickly served and thoroughly enjoyable. The room was basic but comfortbale enough for a two night stay. Main road a bit noisy but expected. I was expecting a prettier garden near the river but couldnt find any other area I missed?
Nothing really, its an excellent "budget" hotel and restaurant!
Nice location, room (not in the main building) was very nice and the staff very helpful.
The breakfast was mediocre and the WiFi was atrocious, it failed to connect and when on the odd occasion it did, it dropped out after a few seconds.
We home here often to visit family and are always made welcome the staff are lovely the rooms are clean and very comfortable it is a good place to stay thankyou
We enjoy everything about it here at the Mill on the Soar

Location was excellent, bed was comfy, and big room, also enjoyed service in the pub
Continuous noise from pumps somewhere, no maid service, had to get our own toilet roll and tea/coffee
Good room clean and well planned. Nice position. Reasonable breakfast Excellent shower
Terrible pillows. Window latch had screws missing Making a break in a real possibility. Single glazed. Only one towel provided when we arrived. Next day, no room service, so beds are unmade, bins not emptied, no new coffee or tea in room. Still stuck with a single towel for a second day, Ugh! Breakfast on day 2, with an Hr to spare at 9am, 5cm of orange juice left, a few scruffy croissants. No teaspoons. And a constant mechanical noise coming from the bathroom which kept us awake for a good few hrs! This location has great potential, but sadly I'd let down by management who clearly need to address some serious issues.
Location is lovely, plenty of outdoor seating, walks and children's play area.Room was spacious and clean however having to climb into a bath for a shower was very difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
It's worth noting that as a family orientated pub it can become quite noisy although as the rooms are away from the main building this was not an issue.
Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to travel to where I needed to go. Clean and tidy accommodation
The quality of the food in the restaurant area could have been improved.
The staff were excellent. They were courteous, kind, and professional
The bedroom and bathroom needed redecorating, and there were some minor repairs.
It was near where we had to go for a funeral.
Where we were staying at number 18 the noise was unreal. We had the control room across from us could not sleep, it was horrific ad the breakfast wasn't great but other then that it was okay.
Location to dive quarry
Just basic rooms but the price does reflect it.
Rooms are in desperate need of updating. Rooms were very cold
Breakfast was ok
The cleanliness of the rooms, cobwebs all along the walls and ceiling, the room we were allocated was only set up for one person although there were 2 of us so we had to go and get a towel, cup, glass and tea/coffee from reception. The plumbing/drainage in the room was horrendous, they are obviously connected to a macerator which was constantly going all night and when next door was using their bathroom we could hear the noise of it from theirs. There was a gap round the outside door.
Beautiful place, location and food. Clean and fresh rooms with ample facilities in room's Great budget hotel
Outside impression was poor with weeds on all borders and between slabs in children's play area. Outside fencing needs a good spruce up. Had a great stay but felt the owners were letting themselves down.
The rooms have been updated since my last stay. Nice and clean.
The paintwork outside on the windows need to be updated, its mouldy and falling apart and the Weeds outside could be cut down.
Convenient location and good value
Couldn’t get into the first room we were given so changed. Had to get more towels, mug, remote control. Shower didn’t work. Strange rumbling noise in room every 30 seconds at all times.
Price and position. Excellent shower
Room needed attention. Paintwork chipped and dirty.
The staff were very helpful, polite and cheerful . Also the baths had plenty of hot water and fast to fill up .
Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff. They sorted out our heaters not going on. Lovely breakfast.
I noticed the bath still had hairs on it from the previous occupant. I couldn't detatch the shower to give hte tub a quick spray before I had a bath.
I stayed overnight , the room was good/comfortable and there was a good choice for breakfast.
The clientele. There were unruly small children running around noisily and the parentswerealso very rough, I had travelled 150 miles to see and entertain my daughter and husband. (They live within a mile of the venue. Not a pleasant experience.
Friendly staff when checked in and breakfast.
Bathroom was clean but room was grotty.

Think its too expensive - some eat more than others ( small/large appetites) and dietary needs.
Rooms independent from pub. Easy access M1 and Fosse Park
Location and friendly staff
Dirty, noisy, cold, smelly. No heating, no hot water.
Close to Enderby and staff very good
No hot water many days, mold on windows and headboard was very dusty so obviously not wiped down. Breakfast croissants sometimes stale
The Mill On The Soar has been a part of my life for over 30 years. I’d go there regularly as a little girl when living in Cosby over 30 years ago. It used to absolutely wonderful. And hold a lot of beautiful memories. The service was ok, sad that you have to go up and order everything yourself at the bar but food was good non the less. The room was clean and ok for one night.
DO NOT STAY IF YOU LIKE PEACE & QUIET!!! I will NOT ever stay over night ever again. As per MANY other reviews, the rooms are NOT equipped for comfort. And despite staff responses from long long ago saying they will address the issues, clearly they do not plan on ever doing anything to rectify the noise issues. And, unfortunately that’s counter productive on their part because you’re losing TONNES of customers! Pipe work/water heater LOUD ALL NIGHT LONG ALL HOURS every few minutes. Not just when in use! Traffic noise vibrates through the pillows. Wardrobe doors wouldn’t open at all, seemed quite dangerous actually (room 1) heating uncontrolled, sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold. WIFI VERY POOR. Didn’t get to drop off to sleep until 5am! And even that was broken sleep! Missed breakfast because of this! Got about 3hrs in total and had a 6 hour drive the next day! Absolutely terrible! Would not recommend :( sorry to say. Fond memories slightly tarnished now. I hope they bother to take some pride one day because they’re losing potential regular custom and not taking complaints seriously. If it closes down one day, you’ll know why. Very sad :(
Close to Stoney Cove so practical
Radiators are terrible and limit safe. Bed quality was very poor. Bathroom is totally dated. Wardrobe rail was broken. One of the shed lamp needed replacing. Very noisy, I couldn't sleep at all. Breakfast was awful and had to wait 8am so late for it.
Very near to Stoney cove dive site
Closeness to where I needed to go
Great place to stay for our needs as dive club
All was great as normal
Nice quiet pub, very clean room. Lovely polite staff.
The location is perfect for my travels..

Got a ground floor room as requested, food was good.
The weather.
It was clean
The heating pump was going all night so barely slept.
Lovely room, Hungry Horse pub was fine for what it is.
There's something wrong with the plumbing in the standalone accommodation block. The macerator(?) seems to be working constantly or cutting in/out through the night. Very noisy and guaranteed to wake guests up.
Not a great deal the bed was ok and t he e heating worked the breakfast was ok but not as good value as say premium inn all you can eat breakfast
The shower curtain was absolutely filthy and should’ve been thrown in the bin so much so that my wife would not use the shower. The toilet seat was loose and kept coming off. The wardrobe. Drawers were difficult to open and one had come away. The windows were filthy and did not close properly. The room obviously had never been checked for quite some time otherwise these things would’ve been picked up and sorted out.
staff, convinience.
no hot water, but got moved straight away
Location was fine. Pub being on site was a bonus. Cheap.
First room I was offered had a random sound of a pump running coming through the wall every 5-10 seconds. This went on for about half an hour before I went to complain. First member of staff said that was the pump for the sink/showers and all rooms had it. It would be quieter when people weren't showering. Duty manager said it was from the boiler house or something similar and moved me to an upgraded room in another block. When changing rooms, I noticed the original room's sheets were soiled/stained also. New room wasn't particularly an upgrade but it was absent pump noises. However windows did not seal properly so a lot of noise coming through from the outside.
