Walden Koh Lanta - Tiny Homes by the Sea

The AC works very well. The beach is truly one of the highlights of Koh Lanta, easily accessible at all times, not affected by tides in the same way as many other beaches, and pleasantly uncrowded. The availability of free sunbeds and umbrellas is also a great advantage. For travelers primarily looking to enjoy the sun and the beach, this location is an excellent choice. The inclusion of food is a nice addition. However, there are also many nearby restaurants offering a wide variety of options. In comparison, the on-site kitchen may feel more average, although the breakfast menu is great.

I would like to share an honest impression that may be helpful for future guests. While the hosts are very kind and the property description is accurate, especially regarding the compact size of the houses, there is one aspect that might not be immediately clear from the listing or existing reviews. The location is quite close to a busy road, with houses situated only a few meters away. As a result, traffic noise is noticeable (inside the house), particularly for those who are sensitive to sound or seeking a peaceful environment. Koh Lanta is a lively and touristic island, and this area reflects that energy. I am sharing this simply to help set expectations for travelers who prioritise quiet surroundings.

We loved everything about our stay! The bungalow was cosy and comfortable with the most incredible view of the beach. Amazing hospitality and everything that was included made our stay extra special!

Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer!

My husband and I spent three days at Walden Koh Lanta, and these were truly the best days of our two-week vacation in Thailand. We have visited Thailand before, but this time was very special for us, thanks to Anna, Bruce, and their wonderful team. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by care, warmth, and positive energy. The time we spent in their small, clean, and cozy place felt incredibly special. We enjoyed the Thai sunshine and received so many positive эмоtions from these amazing people. Every day we were treated to delicious breakfasts and lunches prepared with love. When we were leaving, I even received a small gift from them, which was such a thoughtful and touching gesture. Thank you all so much! Anna and Bruce have created a fantastic team that truly loves what they do, and that makes them, in our opinion, the best on the island. We are already looking forward to coming back and seeing them again next year. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience genuine Thai warmth and positive energy. Thank you once again! Kind regards, Anzelika and Wasilij Sweden 🇸🇪

I liked everything

Thailands best hosts and staff. Bruce and Anna are the most kind and welcoming people with the best service possible. Absolutely loved the beach front tiny home and will definitely be back.

We had an amazing 5 days at Walden. The location was great, right on the beach and close to some nice restaurants for sunset. The owners and staff were absolutely amazing, they made us feel like family. The service was above and beyond. We would definitely go back .

I have stayed in several hotels, and this is by far the best one I have ever experienced. The cabin, the location, and everything the hotel offers are outstanding, and the service is truly unbeatable. We even extended our stay by an extra day just to enjoy it more. The rating is more than deserved, and it is clear they are still striving to improve. I would highly recommend this place without any doubt.

Being too poor to stay and live in this hotel

Fabulous friendly hosts. Wonderful location. Free food, great free smoothies.

Alles was perfect

This was our favorite accommodation in Koh Lanta by far. We stayed on the island for over 3 weeks at 5 places. We had non-refundable reservations for another place - but choose to stay here again instead. They have 2 sets of tiny homes. 6 bungalows on beach and also 6 more just across the street. They have covered porches with table and chairs to enjoy. All guests use the most comfortable and peaceful beach area. They have umbrellas and lounge chairs of 2 different types on beach. The layout is perfect on 2 levels of sand. There’s a large garden area to eat. The homes across street are very quiet and peaceful set back of street with shrubs and trees. The kind owners live there -so are present to help whenever needed. They jumped beyond any expectations (for example went to pharmacy without asking to pick up something for me). Responded immediately to my concerns. The restaurant food (included) was by far literally the best food we ate on the island. I’m sure the cleanest, as well. You can see in the kitchen right there. They make the freshest food. We never got sick at all. It was made to our liking and spice level exactly. I could get my smoothies with my soy milk from 7-11 and we ordered whenever. The staff for resort are the best reason to stay here! (restaurant, manager, cleaning, chef) all so sweet, friendly -even loving- and quick to serve. Always smiles and hugs. We fell in love. The beach and water are wonderful. Not much change in tides and no rocks at all. Surprisingly quiet although walking distance to dozens of restaurants, bars, massage places and literally 3 minute walk to 7-11. The wonderful food, drinks and fruit smoothies are all included in price of room while restaurant open from 7:30 - 4:00. Also you can grab complimentary drinks and ice cream at any time day or night. It is amazingly quiet because not open at night, which is fine because lots of places to eat right there close to walk. Even rotis at night by 7-11.

I seriously cannot think of anything I did not like. Just some choices for your best fit. There are some pros and cons over which side of resort. The Walden Moon across street has queen bed so can walk around it and a little couch. It is just across street from other part - so it just takes a single one minute walk to other side. It is quiet on both sides even though faces street because it is set way back with huge lawn area behind hedges. A bit more private. No microwave. The beach side has view of beach and sunset, but full size bed against wall. Has a microwave. Really didn’t need. A kitchen area with barstools instead of couch. Just a bit more convenient to beach loungers and getting food served on porch. We loved both. Stay several nights at each.

I absolutely loved my time at Walden! I arrived early, and they kindly gave me another room to use until mine was ready, which I really appreciated. The location is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Welcoming, warm, and genuinely happy. It quickly started to feel like home, which meant even more to me since I was traveling solo. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, with beautiful early morning walks by the beach and stunning sunsets to end the day. It’s one of those rare places that stays with you even after you leave. I already miss everyone.

Nothing that I didn’t like

What a great place and 3-night stay this was! Bruce & Anna have created something quite special. Everything is included. The staff and the enviroment was just lovely. The food was great. As was the free laundry & the free 1-hr massage (& free ice-cream!). It was a bit more expensive than other places we stayed, but it's very understandable why...& worth the extra. It is right on the beach and just a really chilled place. If we came to this island again, we would definitely stay again. There is a reason they are 9.8...

Very cosy, the owners are very kind and helpful. The service and waiters are very good

This place is the best! Bruce and Anna are the best hosts who really care about us guests. Everyone who worked here was super cute, helpful and always with a smile. Good food and drinks! The accommodation was small but well planned and was enough for us. Very nice beach right outside, great water. Personally we prefer this quiet genuine place to big resorts. It stays in our hearts ❤️. We will be back!

Super friendly, great location, fast Internet, very good service all-round

tutto, non ha un difetto

niente, è tutto perfetto

Absolutely wonderful place - small huts right on the beach with reserved beach seating for guests. The huts have a kettle and a fridge but you also get free food and non alcoholic drinks all day from the restaurant onsite which makes it really good value for money. There's a 7/11 a few mins walk away and you can walk down the beach to other restaurants. One free massage is included. Bruce and Anna are amazing hosts - there's a reason this place has such a good rating on booking.com

The WiFi was pretty iffy but there were lots of books to read on the beach so I was always occupied

Location right on beach. Good for swimming no rocks! Food from Annas kitchen was excellent - all free all day until they close at 4.00 pm.

Space at a premium inside a bit of a struggle for person on wall side of bed - we coped.

Walden Koh Lanta Tiny Home by the Sea, exceeded expectations!! As soon as you arrived you are made to feel very welcome, and instantly relaxed. Ours hosts were expectational. Location is stunning, on the beach, with sun loungers and umbrellas for the guests. Breakfast was excellent, and the kitchen is open all day for food. Our tiny home had everything you could possibly want, shower was great too. Other bars & restaurants were a short walk away along the beach. We loved it here and will definitely return!! Thank you for making it such a special time.

Total plesure for 4 days. Unike resort with lots of love from staff and owners. Try this place if you want something (good) different in Thailand. It will sweep you of your feet in a good way. Thanks for a really nice stay. We will be back.

It's a tiny home! If you don't like being and sleeping close to your partner this is maybe the wrong place. But if you like it you will love everything about staying here.

Lovely host, very cozy room with a beautiful beach view. Comfy mattress as well. And all the perks: free food, massage, ice creams, smoothies and laundry. Everything you want on a vacation !

Selbst 1 Massage umsonst. Sozusagen all inklusive.

Nichts. Alles war super!

If you are looking for somewhere in Thailand to 'escape' to - this is the one. A classic island paradise with unbelievably generous hospitality and care. Perfect for Honeymoons, Birthdays or just getting away from it all. - Perfectly sized 'tiny' homes. - A gorgeous beach where you can sit and watch the sunset every day. - Lovely hosts who really look after you. - Free and delicious food (European and Thai) and drink (tea/coffee/smoothies) from 7am-4pm which is all done to a very high standard with generous portions. - Free water refill 24/7. - Free massage included in your stay and they are reasonably priced (£10 a massage) so make sure you get more! - A host of bars and restaurants available a few steps down the beach in either direction. - Supermarkets a few streets away if you need any extras during your stay.

N/A

Wunderbarer sauberer Strand. Sup. Gute Betten. Gutes Essen. Wir kommen wieder

Steps from the beach. Comfortable beach chairs with umbrellas. Awesome staff, friendly, prompt, aware, thorough, professional. Owners are amazing. Location is superb. They feed you great, fresh food AND do your laundry

Can't think of anything

I truly cannot recommend this place enough. While the place itself is stunning--a clean, well-kept tiny house right on the beach and perfectly placed for sunsets--it's the people who run the property that make it such a special stay. Bruce, Anna, Paul, and the rest of the team are so welcoming and so hospitable from the moment you arrive that I already knew I'd never want to leave, and it only got better every day the more I got to interact with them and experience the resort. The free, delicious, home-cooked food and fresh fruit until 4pm and all-day free ice cream, water, and soft drinks were something I'd never experienced at a resort, and they added incredible value to what was already a great deal. I also loved having a big, comfy bed that faced the ocean, and though the house was small (it's a tiny house, after all!) it felt like it had everything you need in a clever layout that maximizes the space. I can't wait to come back for a more extended stay!

That I hadn't planned to stay longer ;)

We loved everything: the meals, the fresh fruit, the staff, the location, the tiny house… we had an extraordinary, even exceptional, week! The beach across the street is superb! Everything you need is close by, with an atmosphere that's both serene and festive… Everything is done to ensure you enjoy your stay in the best possible conditions. The managers are lovely, as is the entire staff! The masseuses are professional and incredibly kind! We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you to Paul, Bruce, Anna, and the whole team! We already miss you 🥹 DON'T HESITATE!!!!

NOTHING

13 Nächte im Paradies! Mein 6.

Ganz besonderer Aufenthalt weg vom Massentourismus.

Nichts

It is a small accom and being advertised honestly as ‘Tiny Homes by the sea’. Other than that, this tiny ‘resort’ feels different and special! Having stayed there, we now understand why it commands such a high review rating. Deservedly. To start with, the Walden Koh Lanta ‘resort’ is located on nice Klong Nin beach, west facing where one can enjoy the best unobstucted sunset everyday, watching the red ball slowly disappearing from the horizon. Lovely Anna, friendly Bruce & Paul cleverly created a delightful & comfortable place where one will feel so relaxed and just wish to laze around doing nothing. Incuded in the stay are food and non-alcoholic beverages from morning to afternoon. The on-site kitchen run by abang Sharif & his pretty wife Dada dishes out delicious food to your orders. Also included is free first masssage per guest which can be enjoyed at the on-site massage place. Extra expenses are encouraged to be charged to room for the end-of-stay settlement. All this just enhances the carefree stay experience. Improvements are always in progress. Anna & Bruce are expanding, opening another site across the street. Cheekily I suggested a pool with a bar. That will be complete! 😊 This is not a paid advertisement but a genuine feedback from a wonderful stay. Thanks to everyone at Walden for our memorable stay and the warm send-off. We wil be back.

None

Our stay at Walden Koh Lanta was absolutely amazing. We stayed for four nights and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was delicious, the beach was beautiful and peaceful, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. Anna and Bruce were incredibly kind, attentive, and always helpful, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. Their hospitality made a real difference and added a personal touch to the experience. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back again.

Milý personál, nic nebyl problém Úžasná lokalita.skvělě jídli i pití. Udržovaná pláž i zahrada. Krásné písčité moŕe.

Není vůbec co.

We had an amazing time at Walden. The room has everything you need and the beach and view are incredible. Free massage! Free breakfast and lunch!! Free coffee and drinks!!! 2 free beers! Free ice cream all day, I gained a few pounds. Bruce and Anna are terrific hosts. A big shout out to Shariff who does a bit of everything for Bruce and Anna. Private beach chairs right on the beach. There are bars and restaurants just a minute away on the beach. We will stay here again on our next trip to Koh Lanta.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Location and services

It was one of the best places we ever had in Thailand. The Bungalow has everything you need, you don't need more space, because you live outside. The Beach is very clean and you are able to swim all the times, the tide was never a problem. Lots of restaurants and stores in easy walking distance. You can sit direct on the beach and enjoy food and drinks. The Hotel has a privat Beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. They serve very good food and drinks from 07:30 - 17::00 for everybody, but as their guest your getting all your food and softdrinks for free. So if you think their roomrates are a little high, please consider the free food. The hold staff is just amazing Bruce, Anna and Paul can help in every way, just ask them and its done. Everybody on their team lets you feel like you are family, especially Charlie and Dada, I really feel like I left some family behind.

That our vaccation was over

Bruce, Anna and the team created a little piece of paradise on earth. The location is perfect and the food amazing. They even had a special attention for my parents who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. We will be back! Thank you for the amazing memories

Wonderful place, great location, staff all lovely and helpful . The ocean on your doorstep, and a sea view from your bed. What more could you ask for. Thank you, Bruce Anna and Paul

Nothing

Fantastische benadering van de gasten. Zeer comfortabel! Alles klopt.

Such good value for the price...included in the nightly fee is a free massage, laundry, and food from the restaurant until 16:00.

Absolutely everything - it’s only 6 tiny homes to it feels very homey and welcoming. It’s right on the beach and it has everything you may need: food, massages, lounger, umbrellas, paddle board… Anna, Bruce and every single person working there are so lovely, they always made sure we had everything we needed, with a big smile. It was rainy most of the time we were there and we had the best time just relaxing, and whenever we needed anything, Bruce and Anna made sure to help us. Taxi to get there was all sorted by them, this was great, and when we needed to get anywhere we could just get a taxi. Also, Charlie is great cook! Breakfast and lunch were always so tasty, we almost wished he could be there for dinner too! (But he deserves a rest for sure!!)

Nothing - maybe just that I am not there anymore or we didn’t stay any longer!

If I could give a higher score, I absolutely would. I traveled around Thailand for a month, and without a doubt this was the best place I stayed at. Amazing staff, amazing location, and amazing atmosphere. Being there truly felt like being part of a family thanks to the amazing hospitality.

WOW! what an incredible stay we had at Walden Homes. We initially booked for three nights and prolonged on day one for another three nights. The owners and entire staff were amazing. Location was perfect with private beach and the in-house restaurant was extremely delicious. Food and non alcoholic beverages are free between 7.30am-4pm, so is laundry, and kayaks/SUPs. We felt very sad to leave but will definitely come back. One of the highlights was the sunset we enjoyed every evening at the beach. Walden Homes would deserve more than a 10 stars rating.

🙏🏻❤️ Danke an euch alle!!

Nichts.

I had a great stay there. The atmosphere was relaxed, sunbeds were always available, and the whole place just felt calm and easy-going. I would definitely go back.

A true paradise!! You never get sick of the view right outside the door. The staff is incredibly friendly and dedicated to making your stay amazing. There is a place to rent motor bikes for a good price right across the street also which was very convenient. The food was delicious every day and the laundry service was fast, efficient, and free! The sea is refreshing to swim in with no rocks. They also have paddle boards and kayaks to use! This place is a true gem!

Nada. Todo fue genial

What to say about Walden. A truly magical place that I honestly feel words cannot do justice. This has been miles above plenty of 5 star resorts we’ve stayed at in the past and has been the absolute highlight of this trip. Worth noting, we got seriously unlucky with the weather and it rained for 4 out of 6 days - but it still charmed us more than everywhere else, something I think is testament to how special a place it is. Not only are the tiny homes, beach, location and facilities perfect, but the staff are by far the most accommodating I’ve come across, ever. Immaculate beautiful beach literally at your doorstep, extremely comfy beds (where you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the ocean), air con etc - this place really does feel like your own slice of heaven. The food (and the service that comes with it) was some of the best I’ve experienced in Thailand - authentic Thai food and western options if you prefer. Being able to eat your freshly cooked food on your patio, in your room, in the garden or on the beach is fantastic - the fact that it’s completely free is an added bonus. Their concept is simple yet effective - they take care of pretty much everything so you can relax and enjoy your holiday, food, laundry, kayak, massage, rentals, transfers etc - all sorted for you and nothing is too much trouble. The area has everything you need, bars, restaurants, 7/eleven, taxi, bike/car rental. Plenty of happy hour spots for cocktails very close on foot to the hotel too. If you’re considering booking, don’t hesitate, you will not regret it - I’m honestly not sure how you beat it on Lanta. Shout out to Bruce, Anna and Paul who run an incredible place. Also Sharef, Da Da, Sophia in the kitchen. Na the housekeeper, and Dean the landscaper. All do a great job at making the place as special as it is. Faultless from start to finish, if I could mark Walden above 10/10 I would.

AMAZING place with AMAZING people! I cant imagine better place to stay in Koh Lanta, or Krabi, or Thailand!. A small house with everything you need (AC!) and just a few steps and you are at the beach! What more do you need?! Perfect location (not too busy but still a lot of options in the area), great service (the whole staff was super nice), comfortable bed, delicious food, clean beach with sunbeds always ready for you - we haven't felt that good anywhere else. I definitely recommend to stay here and I really hope we will come back again soon. Anna and Bruce - thank you again for everything!

we didnt like that we had to leave! because those few days in Walden Koh Lanta were our favorite days of our Honeymoon

Perfect location, friendly hosts and staff, lovely swimming beach with a great variety of small bars and restaurants to walk to along the beach.

We love everything

A comida é deliciosa.

This was undoubtedly our best stay during our year-long round-the-world trip. Hosts Bruce and Anna are wonderful people, the staff is attentive and kind, the food is excellent, and the cabin is comfortably positioned facing the sea. There are meals, sunbeds, umbrellas, ice cream, smoothies, and massages available all day. The sea water is warm and safe for swimming. The room is clean, there is air conditioning, and the bed is comfortable. We stayed for about 10 days, and my only regret is not having booked a longer stay. This accommodation has everything you need to truly relax, with attention to detail that really matters for an excellent experience. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!

Such an amazing stay. Bruce and Anna are the kindest, most generous couple you will ever meet. We had an incredible stay in their beautiful cabin on the beach. We still miss it, and them! They truly made our stay unforgettable and we will definitely be back. Thank you for everything. Bee and Morgan. X

Property was exactly as described tiny but perfectly formed . Self contained studio with outside space to sit lawn to the front then straight on to a beautiful beach loads of sunbeds and umbrellas all free to use food and drink on site free ice creams and coffee !! Plus other free food as well only thing we paid for was beer and that was the same price as anywhere else . Cannot fault this place the hosts ate really helpful nice people and the staff could not be better .

The wonderful hosts Bruce and Anna made my stay really enjoyable. They were both so welcoming and kind. The amazing sunsets. The thai food was really delicious and the massage place on the property were excellent. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I can’t actually think of anything that I didn’t like. It was great!

Cozy and super friendly, beachfront!!! Free flow environment!

After reading the reviews we had high expectations believe me Tiny Homes exceeded these. This place is perfection!!!! Bruce and Anna are the friendliest and most helpful hosts I know. Nothing was too much trouble. Chirub, Sophia and all the kitchen staff produced the most amazing food, the best we’d tasted in Thailand. Blueberry smoothies became a new favourite. The two massage ladies were superb, giving the best treatment with the smiliest of faces. The beach is so beautiful. It felt like our own private piece of paradise. We canoed along the length of the beach and around the cliffs we found a gorgeous “ secret” beach. Now the Tiny House itself. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’d slept in during our stay in Thailand. Everything you needed was in the house. To sum up, we had read in previous reviews that people did not want to leave. We stayed five nights and wished we had booked for ten. If you are wondering whether to book this place, DO NOT HESITATE and BOOK IT!!!

Nothing whatsoever

It was incredibly difficult to start this review. Why? I mean, how does one truly put into words the emotions, sensations, and overall sense of well-being, peace, and tranquility that you feel when you stay here? I was so incredibly sad to leave because Walden's Tiny Homes was absolute perfection, and this is rare in tourism. I have traveled A LOT, and this is one of the best, if not the best, places I have ever stayed. This place is paradise. And I mean that. Bruce and Anna are simply amazing. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, you are treated like family. I could easily sit and talk with Bruce for hours about anything, and Anna literally gave my wife the sandals off her feet when we arrived because my wife had forgotten hers. Talk about a first impression. They have an espresso machine for you to make your coffee in the morning. I'm super annoyed whenever I travel because the coffee is terrible, but all good here. They also have all the free ice cream you could want. I'm talking about the good brands too! The staff was amazing. They were attentive to every detail, kind, fun to hang out with and truly a pleasure to get to know. The food on-site is really delicious and they bring you fresh fruit every morning. And all food and drinks (except for beer) are free. Highly recommend their traditional Thai teas. The tiny home is really cool. The bed is extremely comfortable and many a good night's sleep were had. There is thought and purpose to every design feature in the tiny home and I was always finding new ways to use these features for our belongings. Traditional hotel rooms, or even resort rooms for that matter, are so boring compared to this. The beach was pristine. No garbage, no rocks. Just beautiful, crystal-clear blue water that is 20 meters from your porch. Wake up, go for a swim, go back to bed. Repeat. Watching amazing sunsets on an uncrowded, almost private portion of the beach never got old.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.
