Pleasant stay

The hotel is clean. The have a few rooms but very clean and comfortable. The staff is fabulous. It is a boutique hotel in a wonderful area of Guimarese walking distance to everything.

Both pools and pool areas dirty. Carpet in room is dirty. Bed is comfy. Breakfast is average.

A estadia correu muito bem. Quarto limpo e organizado. Pequeno Almoço basto e com várias opções. A piscina, ambiente da piscina e acesso à mesma deve ser melhorado, porque estava muito frio.

Localização ideal para visitar a parte histórica da cidade. Caminhadas, visitas, gastronomia, descanso... Tudo estava excelente.

A run down version of its grander former self, with indifferent staff. The front desk is the opposite of welcoming. Our compact room was okay, but the bathtub shower curtain was a mildew haven -- needs the bleach treatment. Lot's of available easy on-site parking, if one can figure out how to get through the up/down gates on entry and exit. Breakfasts were amazingly great, but no dinner menus were available so we found our evening meals elsewhere. The room service offerings were poor. Be careful not to trip on the tired/wrinkled carpets in the hallways. Great central location -- as good as it could possibly be. Might stay again despite the defects purely because of the location at the city centre.

Cet hôtel n’est plus un hôtel 4 étoiles…. Il est vieillissant et mal entretenu. Le mobilier est abîmé, et mal réparé ça ne fait pas sérieux. Le parking est souvent complet, difficile de savoir si on aura une place de disponible = obligation de se garer dans la rue et de payer … Dommage car il est hyper bien placé. Beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c’est.

Just a clean and well cared for hotel with tasteful decorum. Room was neat and bed was comfortable. Staff spoke English well and were very courteous. Location was perfect. Near to Praca de Republica (puble square) and city park.

Viel zu teuer für die Ausstattung. Warmes Wasser lief bei der Ankunft nicht und die Badezimmerausstattung schrecklich alt und verbraucht. Matratze und Frühstück ganz in Ordnung.

Consegui ouvir barulhos do que me pareceram obras no hotel quando estava no quarto. O mini frigorífico estava sujo quando cheguei e assim continuou durante toda a minha estadia. Adorei poder continuar o meu treino de exercício físico durante a minha estadia, no entanto fui obrigado a usar um peso do ginásio que não era muito prático, pois não tive opção de escolha na carga. De resto correu tudo bem: O pessoal do hotel era todo muito simpático e disposto ajudar quando precisei

Hotel bonito, funcionários bastante simpáticos, bom pequeno almoço, contudo encontrámos aranhas no teto do quarto e o WC é algo datado (poderia estar melhor cuidado - Ex: banheira com pontos de ferrujem, suporte de chuveiro defeituoso). A temperatura ambiente da piscina interior estava muito baixa, provocando bastante desconforto no uso deste equipamento.

Good rooms and good location with walking distance to the center and restaurants.

The hotel was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and lots of storage space, as well as a private patio with a small table and 2 chairs. The only issue we had with the room is that it was pretty dark, even with the curtains open, and somewhat dated. The bathtub drain was a little slow and the shower head wouldn't stay in position. Otherwise a very nice, clean and spacious bathroom with nice towels. The breakfast buffet was terrific, fresh and delicious with lots of items to choose from. It was close walking distance to see many of the historic sites in Viseu. Parking in front of the hotel is awkward, as the lower gate is an emergency exit, so one has to reverse uphill and turn around in a narrow driveway to exit. Otherwise we did appreciate the onsite parking. We appreciate the dog-friendliness of this lovely hotel.

Hotel Grao Vasco is truly a historic hotel. Pedro from sales gave a very friendly guided tour of the property and spoke with us about the wonderful past that Hotel Grao Vasco has. This is stylish sixties but maintained beautifully and still run by the family that built the hotel. Go to Viseu and enjoy! The hotel had comfortable beds, it is centrally located near the old city center and the staff was very welcoming. Pedro in particular was kind, helpful and proud of the hotel. It was refreshing to see a person who has the kind of hospitality everyone expects but rarely sees. Obrigado!

A chegada foi bem complicada, pois o estacionamento anunciado estava lotado e a declividade do terreno dificultou muito o estacionamento quando surgiu uma vaga. Quartos confortáveis e excelente localização do hotel na cidade. Não gostei das camas com colchões de mola mais duros do que o desejável, causando a sensação de que cairíamos da cama a qq momento. Café da manhã simples.

Não tínhamos lugar no parque de estacionamento, estava cheio porque também é público, mas acho que era preferível cobrar aos hóspedes uma tarifa diária do que faze-los andar às voltas para arranjar estacionamento. Quanto ao resto bom hotel com uma localização excelente.

Adorei tudo no hotel, super lindo e muito confortável. Com certeza irei voltar com minha família ☺️

Correu bem. Hotel muito central e funcionários prestáveis. Só não me tinha dado conta que a piscina interior não estava aberta.

A falta de simpatia dos funcionários é o grande ponto negativo do hotel, com instalações muito antigas.

Dette var nok den verste mottakelse vi noen gang har hatt på et hotell. Og vi reiser mye rundt om i verden. En mann i resepsjonen var så utrolig sur og nesten fiendtlig innstilt, uten vi hadde gjort noen ting gale. Følte oss ikke velkomne i det hele tatt. Hotellet er nedslitt og slett ikke noe ærverdig i det hele tatt. Absolutt ikke et 4 stjernes hotell.

Hotel antigo, super bem localizado para quem quer andar a pé e conhecer Viseu. As casas de banho precisam de uma actualização. O pessoal da recepção é extremamente simpático e prestável, mas sentimos que colocamos questões sobre a cidade que tiveram alguma dificuldade em responder. Ficaria com toda a certeza novamente neste hotel.

Spa fermé cause covid Nous avons attendu 2h pr notre checkin car le personnel de nettoyage etait débordé (Manque d'organisation)

Experiência agradável, funcionários simpáticos, a nível de limpeza nada a apontar negativamente.

O quarto ainda utiliza mantas, aceita animais e não sei se o quarto em que fiquei teve algum animal. Duvido que o Hotel cumpra o Safe and Clean pois quando cheguei o quarto não estava arrumado. Foi almoçar e quando cheguei já estava pronto, daí julgar que não respeitaram o protocolo. O barulho do ar condicionado não permite descansar, tal o . Pequeno almoço fraco. Má experiência, a não repetir e não recomendo,

A estadia foi agradável. Pecou o serviço de bufete do restaurante na ceia de natal, do dia seguinte e nos pequenos almoços. Não repuseram as faltas que iam ocorrendo.

Hotel is showing its age. decor very much stuck in the past. Hotel staff could have been friendlier, internet connectivity was really poor. However, central location is a plus.

Tricky to find entrance but a lovely cool hotel, reception polite . The up grade to the room was worth it, with balcony overlooking gardens. Breakfast well thought out at this time of Covid , would stay again

Breakfast service was slow no customer service Refusal to do fried eggs I either had to take liquid scramble eggs if I wanted breakfast or nothing. Horrible And limited breakfast choices First time in a 4 star hotel that they were not able to accommodate an egg order. Also we arrived at 1035 at the hotel and asked if the bar was open to which front reception said yes. We walked over to the bar and employee told us at 1047 pm that no one was here so I closed the bar so no service.

A great hotel just a block from the historic centre. Thoughtful groupings of comfortable, quiet seating areas around the hotel including attractive lounges. Welcoming, efficient staff; large, comfortable rooms overlooking lawns and palm trees. Elegant dining room in which we were the only guests (Sunday evening in Feb.) where we were served the best salmon dinner we have ever eaten. All served by the perfect waiter in a friendly, informative manner. A gem of a hotel in a modestly interesting old city.

THE HOTEL HAS OLD WORLD CHARM ALTHOUGH A LITTLE WORN IN PLACES. THE SAFE KEY IN OUR ROOM HAD BEEN TAKEN BY A PREVIOUS GUEST. THE SOLUTION WAS TO MOVE OUR ROOM! ACCORDING TO THE STAFF THERE ARE FEW WORKING SAFES.NO IRON WAS AVAILABLE ONLY EXTERNAL LAUNDRY WAS POSSIBLE. THE DINING ROOM STAFF WERE UNHELPFUL AND MORE INTERESTED IN SETTING UP FOR LUNCH.

Our second stay at this hotel did not disappoint. The rooms are clean and the location is perfect. The original feel of the hotel is historic and we enjoyed it.

The hotel is in the heart of Viseu, at walking distance most points of interest. Clean, well-appointed room, tasty breakfast with plenty of choices, courteous and efficient personnel. Although the hotel is in the middle of the historical center, it has a parking lot and the parking fees are included in the price, a rare feat in European hotels conveniently located in the historical districts. I did not use the spa, but the outdoor pool is beautiful. I found this hotel an incredible value for the money. Recommended without hesitation.

We did not do any sightseeing in Viseu (it was a just a place to stop & sleep) so I cannot comment on the convenience of location. No food is available at the hotel during the siesta hours (typical of many hotels on the Iberian Peninsula) but the hotel manager was able to direct us to a place (within walking distance of the hotel) where they were willing to feed us. Limited English spoken by those we had contact with in Viseu but all were willing to assist as as best they could.

Hotel staff was very friendly and polite. Room cleaning staff did an awesome job. Hotel is an older building that does need some upgrade but overall it's well maintained. There was a variety of items to pick for breakfast . Everything was always fresh and plentiful. Hotel location was perfect and walking distance to everything in centre of city. Rossio well known in the city of Viseu with its gorgeous water fountains and flower garden and an awesome area to sit and relax or walk around te garden . Then you can go enjoy a coffee or drink or eat something in the rossio coffee shop 2 min walk from hotel. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Grão Vasco Hotel and I will return in the near future.

Good location, nice surroundings, nice hotel grounds as well.

While the hotel is approaching 'vintage' status, it is recently renovated and in an excellent location. The staff are courteous. There is ample parking in the hotel grounds and we were allowed, at no charge, to leave the car until early evening of the day we departed. On the other side of the hotel to the parking, there is a pleasant garden, onto which our room opened - very nice! The rooms are of standard hotel size, clean and well furnished, with good beds and amenities. As it is an older building, there is some noise from the hall. We were a little disconcerted that the hotel restaurant was able to offer only a buffet dinner, on Sunday evening; so, instead, we ate at one of the restaurants, within a close distance of the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel, the next morning, was good, with a full range of seasonal fresh fruit, breads, cereals, meats, scrambled eggs and pastries. We recommend the hotel, without reservation.
