Very central for town. Great staff and good room comfortable
Good breakfast
Rooms a little dated
The staff were friendly but did not offer up any information. Breakfast was not included.
The location was on a busy road. Traffic noise from 5:00am to 10:00pm.
Great staff and a lovely room
Bed was very comfortable, had a great sleep
Nothing
Lovely pub in the heart of Okehampton, private car park. Clean, good size room. Excepted our small dog at the premises.
The fact we are both elderly , and my partner being a blue badge holder, we were given a room on the very top floor, plus we had our small dog with us. Stairs very steep , so abit hard going.
Nice traditional pub. Room good value for Money. Bed very comfy. Shower good.
Room was not cleaned after the last occupant. Half bottle of water and glass had water left in it. The room fan was filthy with dust hanging in the grills. Toilet floor had urine on it. I then checked the bed as all these other things were unclean and it had two airs in it. Complimentary toiletry bottles were empty and no loo roll. Went to the bar and the lady didn’t seem to know what to do other than say if you don’t want to stay here I can ring the manager. Left key for them to rectify whilst we went out for 2hrs to grab some food. Came back and nothing had been done. No response to message sent to the manager. In the morning we were told that they hadn’t had delivery so couldn’t have a full English breakfast. (There is a budgens opposite so if you do t have the stings your customers have paid for go over and buy it!) still awaiting a response from the manager 3 days later! I have asked for a refund but no response!
Breakfast was excellent we also had the carvery on Sunday and that was also excellent and good very value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay again
Nothing
Great location. Good menu.
Location in town. Staff friendly and helpful. Old property has character so need to be agile to get to room.
Shower needs mould treating. Car park difficult to find. If there was a message I missed it but would have appreciated a map to explain how to get round to the back of the property.
Breakfast was good and the location was central
lots of narrow stairs up to bedroom, but it was a very old building.
Locality was great. The staff were very helpful. They resolved a problem we had very well. They moved us to an upgraded room and also gave us a free lunch to compensate for the problems. It showed kindness and ability to deal with any situation. All were very pleasant too. Special mention to Georgie, Liam, and Kirsty. All in all we had a nice break.
The property is an old place by the river. Right by a main through road which can be a bit noisy.
Nice location and nice old character
Room was very hot with steep stairs
The vast areas to sit. The location.
Quite a few items not an available on the menu in the evening and breakfast.
Location in centre of Okehampton, with free parking available for guests. Location ideal for exploring Dartmoor and other local villages and towns. Room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, fan provided to help deal with the heat. I ate dinner the evening of my stay which was very nice. I had fish and chips which proved to be a good choice. The full fountain breakfast looked incredible but I didn't choose that as I thought it would be way too much food, so for breakfast I had bacon and eggs and toast. A good range of beers too.
The bathroom looked quite clinical. Check in is rather late at 4pm and check out early at 10am. I arrived at 3.35 hoping to check in but couldn't. Though I don't see any reason why as the room was definitely available so I basically had to wait 25 minutes. It wasn't an issue as I stayed and had a beer with my luggage but I am sure it would have been possible to get into my room to leave my possessions and explore the local area.
Being allowed to take breakfast to room. Breakfast was plenty Good variety of breakfast available
Room was vry warm alot of windows would not open
A quirky inn with its own hotel rooms incorporated and free car parking. The Staff were amazing and always on hand for a chat and any help you may need.
Nothing
Breakfast excellent, warm welcome
Not enough staff on Only one person on duty who was serving behind the bar/taking food orders/welcoming guests/showing guests to rooms etc
15th century. Loads of character but my room was modern and fully equipped.
Nothing!
Very central, had a car park (a bit hard to find) room was great, staff were lovely, breakfast was excellent. Thank you
Car park was hard to find
Cosy and friendly
Very little
In the town centre
Everything was ok
The room was clean and modern
It was very noisy. We waited more than an hour to get breakfast.
Arrived quite late, but the staff made clear arrangements for me to get in and to my room. Room was clean and comfy, and the breakfast was really good.
Rooms could use a little bit of updating.
Lady Gaga was daar!
Ontbijt(bediening) viel tegen : heel chaotisch.
Very comfortable, relaxing pub. Staff very friendly
Could do with more info in rooms. Like wi fi code n meal times. Pub was nice but room price seemed a bit expensive
Breakfast was amazing! and I also had dinner there which was exceptional! Very nice food! What a great chef! The location was fantastic... just what I needed
The 4pm check in!! I had been travelling for 26 hours and arrived at 2.40 pm exhausted but still had to wait for the 4pm. I have to say that considering guests have to be out of rooms by 10am perhaps a little leeway could have been applied? There is no one there to assist. I am an older guest and was given the top floor needless to say it was challenging for me to get all my luggage upstairs and down again by myself I have a few other issues but too petty to mention Service was not great
I have been in touch with the hotel about my complaint and also been in touch with booking.com. Neither have got back in touch with me
Gentillesse de l'accueil. Nos vélos de randonnée à l'abri. Bon burger et bonne bière
Petite chambre sous les toits un peu chaude.
I had room 1 last night. I came here to venture up to the moor. Such a peaceful room - super clean. The sound of the water from outside was amazing. Thank you!
Nothing.
They locked away our bikes for safe keeping and the Inn was on our cycle route
Bathroom door did not shut, no spoon to stir coffee in the room, not much shower gel, no marmalade for toast
Helpful Breakfast staff.
Placed us into the attic at a time when ground floor would have been better for impact of heat. Closed kitchen so had to go somewhere else to eat. Hotel was empty so would have been easy to have accommodated us.
Friendly service Location was good Atmosphere in the evening was brilliant Saturday night karaoke was a blast, Good selection of drinks shame they ran out of ice Great venue Breakfast was good, but they had ran out of eggs! Room was warm and with plenty of room
Lack of air conditioning Small portable fan in room was covered in dust Flooring in bathroom slughtly damaged but ok Toilet made a weird noise after flushing a few times
Private bathroom
Lights was gone
Super little hotel, great location, clean and great friendly staff
Good location. Entertainment was good.
Breakfast was very moderate. Black pudding inedible due to over cooking.
The location!
Nice location
Shortage of staff, carpet in our bedroom had not been vacuum cleaned, we had not realised that the kitchen was closing down the night of our arrival
Excellent value for money comfortable clean and lovely location
Staff at breakfast could of been a bit more friendly
Clean and in a perfect location. Room was very pretty
Food and location was good
Excellent all roiund.
Staff are friendly and helpful
A nice breakfast we had a private table in the bar area not much of a view
The weather
Location was good central to everything. Excellent food and staff very friendly helpful and professional
Breakfast was excellent.
Next time I shall ask for a room nearer the ground floor. I am old and found the stairs a bit challenging!
Pub przyjemny ale niestety jedzenie to porażka,pokój cichy i wygodne łóżko
The location was good the food good beds were comfy
We had two rooms one the headboard was dusty and the shower extractor was dusty. room two smelt of damp wet doggy smell and carpets need a good clean.
Very pleasant place to stay and staff look after you
Lovely old pub, but up to date warm room with ensuite. Able to stay with our dog. Parking on site. Delicious food, great selection and karaoke if we fancied joining!!
Nothing
Nicely decorated clean and comfortable
No breakfast available in winter
It says on website you get a fabulous breakfast but I am afraid you don’t we have stayed before and had breakfast but it seems you don’t get one anymore so you should take it off website it was expensive only could get the biggest room there for two nights didn’t come in room to empty bins or clean
was perfectly located Beds comfy Nice size room
Parking was difficult to find 2 keys would be better as there was 2 of us I had to wake my mum up to let me in the front of the building
Lively staff very central fabulous room and parking
Nothing all Good
The staff were charming and it was cosy and homely. We had an activity to go to which meant we would be back just as the kitchen closed so a meal was kept by for us to pick up when we got back. The food was great.
There are no staff on hand in the morning though I recognise with such good value something's got to give. And we got a fantastic breakfast in a cafe across the road.
The room was lovely. The staff were very nice. I didn't ask for a quiet room during booking. I asked for accessible access for an elderly disabled person. The manager kindly accommodated my mum's mobility scooter in a store cupboard outside on the ground floor. Evening meal was good, but I waited 15 minutes at the bar for service.
It was a 16th century building with 2 very steep flights of stairs up to our room. My mum is elderly and it was a challenge for her. Breakfast was disappointing. My mum asked for bread butter and marmalade. She was presented with two very thickly cut doorstops with 2 butters and grapefruit marmalade. As a heart patient, grapefruit is the only fruit she cannot eat. I asked for wholemeal bread. It was unavailable. I went to the bakery across the road and bought one and had it sliced. i presented it to the member of staff on breakfast duty and asked if it could be toasted please. Back came 2 slices of charcoal!!! I am also on medication, cannot eat white flour or grapefruit. The marmalade was grapefruit. After breakfast, we popped out to Peacocks before getting ready for the wedding. We were only gone half an hour. On our return, we found the building was locked up and unstaffed. My mum had to wait with her mobility scooter outside the locked front door and I had to yomp round the back of the building, go through the car park and managed to get in that way. No mean feat when I have had major knee surgery recently. I then opened the front door, but my mum couldn't bring in her scooter and had to leave it outside the front door, lift her foot over the very high threshhold to be able to access the building. Mum already had her outfit on for the wedding on, as the 2 flights of steps would have been too much for her to cope with more than once a day. I then ascended the stairs and got ready for the wedding.
The bar is great and staff lovely
The room was awful, mattresses were so hard, the bathroom was really dirty mould in shower, hairs and dust all over bathroom, macerator for toilet which kept going off all night. Not pleasant and certainly not worth £130
The Inn is in a convenient location with car parking facilities and good outdoor space. The room was clean and welcoming, and the staff were universally friendly and helpful. We had a good breakfast, and as a vegan, I appreciated the choice. The the pub was lively with a great ambience. I would definitely book again when I am in the area.
All good.
Staff were excellent and helpful really made the stay special.
Noisy outside the window from people leaving the bar. But it's alright.
We were upgraded on arrival due to them not being able to find the key for the room we had booked.
Nothing
No heating on arrival, but resolved later that night with a portable heater.
Location good. Didn’t have Breakfast.
All good
Great location. Room was good and well appointed . Bathroom very good . Staff very helpful.
My husband felt a little cold in bed. Perhaps a bedspread or blanket would be helpful. There was no sugar .
Staff members were fantastic.
I wouldn't say i dislike anything
Location very good
Room very cold! Sink had issue toilet had issue! No staff on hand to resolve these issues! Shower good!
Lovely Room comfortable and just what was needed for me. Food in bar was excellent
No coffee in room - checking at 4pm is quite late normally 3pm at others latest. No breakfast option not even toast and coffee.
It has a free car park attached which was useful as parking in Okehampton is difficult The bar was pleasant and we had a good welcome
Our room wasn’t serviced on the second night and we ran out of coffee and hot chocolate We were disappointed that no breakfast was served and we had to walk to Wetherspoon forvthat
Very large double room, even a table to seat 4, plus an adjoining fair-sized room with 2 single beds. Characterful room with old beams, lovely modern bathroom. Location in centre of Okehampton is excellent
Arrived 20 minutes early and were disappointed we weren’t allowed to check-in til allocated time, 4pm. Some sleepy flies flying around (November), room basically clean.
Great location, with easy, secure parking around the back. The Staff were friendly, Breakfast, Dinner and the local Jail Ale very good! Room was quiet enough ( apart from rad noise ) and the TV had been fixed since my last visit.
Wi-fi wasn't brilliant and as I was staying 3 nights, I would have expected someone to check on me/the room and replaced some of the items used, such as fresh water, teabags etc. Also I did raise the air in the towel radiator was noisy a couple of nights, plus couldn't get the towel fully dry as it needed bleeding, but nothing happened.
Good breakfast, right in the heart of oakhampton
Comfy beds, very clean. Lovely shower.
I felt that the room per night £112.50 was quite over priced considering that breakfast was not provided. When I asked about breakfast I was told that they are not offering breakfast at the moment. inconvenience to have to go and find somewhere else to eat.
Nothing just the fact that we had a bed to sleep in.
1. Lack of professionalism from the manager 2. No clear communication 3. Awful upon arrival - Sat in the car from 9am till 4pm 4. Overflowing toilet 5. Heating very low temperature in the bedroom hence sleeping in gold room 6. Leaking toilet had to walk in cold wet towel when using toilet 7. No fan extractor in the bath room 8. Heater in the bathroom not working hence towels stay wet and cold 9. No housekeeping to take the used cup and put clean cups 10. Food wise - no standard at all every chef cook as they want. 11. Risotto was like vomit no parmesan cheese 12. Mushroom horribly made for breakfast, felt disgusting 13. Staff was rude at diner time, had to wait 30 minutes for dinner 14. Asked to talk to the manager, the answer was she does not have time to come to see you she is going to Bristol......
Quaint and central.
Narrow staircase is tricky with luggage but all forgivable because it’s a very old character property
Lovely Carvery on arrival. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it for a Sunday arrival!
Probably didn't have the best room. Late booking and only a twin bed left at the top of the building with a steep staircase. It was lovely and clean though and had an electric heater.
The atmosphere and surroundings.
Not enough diary free and gluten free optio s on the menu. Staff did how ever try their best to accommodate
Breakfast, was poor.
Evening meal was very poor as well as breakfast. Pie was cold, chicken tough. At breakfast, poached eggs not cooked enough, butter pats were liquid, not offered jam etc. In room, plug got stuck, mattress was very uncomfortable, such a shame because nice room.
Nice Atmosphere
When we checked in at 7pm, there was a problem with room no big deal had a pint girls sorted it out , went to room had a shower and came back down for food after a really long day and asked about food and was told sorry to late we stopped taking orders 15minutes ago . I'm thinking if this was my family run hotel, I would have a quick word with Chef and see if he could do a sandwich or something simple for a customer staying in hotel . Also at 10.30 they were calling last orders for drinks and they don't stop until 11 . It wasn't like we were going to stay drinking all night, but we did want to enjoy a drink and a chat without being told to go to bed 🙃.
Friendly and helpful staff Room was a nice size and comfortable, and well supplied
Good location if you're staying in Okehampton only 15 mins or so walk from station. Really nice breakfast on the whole and the staff were all lovely. Overall not a bad place to stay.
The room could have used lets say a proper deep clean and refresh, but decent size bathroom just not what I expected for the price when I first arrived. Most mornings something was missing from breakfast menu, but what was there was nice and overall these things do happen just reason it wasnt 10/10
Fantastic family room, plenty of space for us
Good location in centre of town
I had a wonderful night's rest here on a short visit to Okehampton for a walk on the moor. I arrived quite late having eaten, so didn't use the restauraunt/bar, but went straight to my room. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and a good temperature, as was the bathroom. The bar was quite noisy when I checked in, but I couldn't hear any noise from my room. There was a good selection at breakfast and the food was good.
Breakfast was served from 8AM and wasn't super quick, so bear this in mind if wanting to make an early start.
