Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The location in the New Forest is peaceful. The room was clean & comfortable. There is car parking. The Bistro served good food, which was good value for money.
Location was brilliant, easy to find and central to othwr places we wanted to visit. Facilities were good and modern with a new games room, room was comfortable.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing with lack of, what I call normal food, cereal, toast, croissants, just a bit too posh compared to when we stayed 3 years ago. Information regarding times and food availability for the evening not advertised, you had to ask. Website said one thing but the facility was doing something different. I understand the place is under new management who are doing new things, but the website needs to be updated to match what is actually happening. Plus more signs / information needs to be available to inform people who are staying.
Great value stay in the area. Additionally, the pub/restaurant downstairs was excellent and a great way to unwind after a day or to grab breakfast in advance of the day to come. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
While the facilities were nice, our shower had a clogged drain that wasn't able to be fixed during our overnight stay.
Location amazing. So dog friendly hotel and the whole area. Staff were helpful and kind despite being very understaffed at busy times
Nothing
Friendly and very helpful staff. clean hotel with a nice atmosphere
a covered outside area to sit if raining
Good size room, food was nice, staff were friendly
Noisy rooms - very creaky floorboards
Very clean

Located close to the Avon Valley path, around 12 miles from our start in Salisbury. I'd read the reviews of the Bell in Downton and decided the Woodfalls Inn sounded nicer (at twice the price), although it meant walking an extra 2 miles on our first day. The evening meal was OK, typical pub grub. Breakfast was good. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
Our room was one of the two rooms at the top of the Inn, a twin room with a huge pillar in the middle dividing the room. Only one bed had a bedside light, and while there were fans in the room, they struggled in the middle of the heatwave - we kept the windows open but it was a hot night for us. I'd paid £138 just for the room expecting something better. Breakfast, and of course the evening meal, were both charged extra. Some fizzy water provided in the room, plus 3 mini-sachets of milk to go with a few teabags - doubtless we could have asked for more, but at that price why not be a bit more generous? It was an OK stay, but over-priced.
Sun terrace, choice of drinks, menu, staff friendliness, size of room
One bedside lamp missing, couldn't get untoasted sourdough read for breakfast, had to ask for towels for room and shower mat was missing g
L'habitació era àmplia i estava molt neta.
Good location to Salisbury & the New Forest. Bed was comfy.
Breakfast options weren't very good to choose from . The customer service wasn't very good. No conversation etc. We were up in the roof. My husband is 6ft 2 so difficult for him to duck the dormas. There was a fan , but glad we brought our own as it was very hot . Only 1 chair in the room so had to sit up on the bed to watch TV. The bathroom could do with updating/ decorating wise. When we left , handed the keys in but there was No..how was you stay ? Have a good journey home etc . Nothing . Just thank you . Won't go back .
great family room, renovated bathroom, clean, firendly staff
wifi didn't work
Lovely staff and good location
Expensive breakfast !
Abbastanza carina camere belle
Clean and good food and staff
Nothing
Nothing.
Everything.
Very convenient location for where we needed to be. There was one member of staff who was very friendly, always smiled and seemed to be working hard in the bar, restaurant and checking people in.
The Woodfalls Inn was very disappointing. I understand that it has changed hands in the last year and so I'm hoping that there will be improvements. Maybe a few rooms have been done up because otherwise I can't understand the 10 star reviews that other guests have left on Booking.com. The room - very tired and shabby. Stains on the carpet, chipped paintwork on the furniture, walls and woodwork. A very small wardrobe that was too shallow for the hangers and no other storage of use. The kettle, coffee machine, crockery etc were all on the small dressing table so there was nowhere to put makeup, laptop etc. There was a strange smell also. The shower rainhead was totally blocked with limescale. I had to scrape each outlet to get any water which was then scalding hot. The service - We stayed for four nights. After the first night the bed was made, bins emptied and coffee etc replenished. The bed was never made up again although the towels were changed. After the second night I had to ask for clean cups and glasses and replenishment of coffee, tea and milk. When I brought this up to the member of staff behind the bar, the manager was sat at a table behind me but made no attempt to apologise or provide any customer service. Facilities - the car park is limited and parking is on the nearby residential road if the car park is full. The restaurant closed on the Wednesday at 8:00 and last orders at the bar were at 9:30. We paid an ok amount for four nights having booked a long time in advance. Friends tried to extend their booking at relatively short notice and were quoted an astronomical price.
It’s well located with outside tables and parking. Downstairs main restaurant rooms were reasonably presented. Staff were generally friendly and breakfast (quality and quantity) was fine though don’t order the kedgeree as that was very disappointing.
Very shabby bedrooms that haven’t been updated for years. Scratched bedside table and wardrobe. Tatty carpet. The bed was very soft and there was a hint of a spring coming through. Needs a serious investment of money to upgrade and make it fit for what people want nowadays. I was concerned about cleanliness especially in the bathroom. Looked like no one had properly cleaned around the edges of the bathroom for a while. There were old make up marks by the bathroom mirror and a few cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling too.
Good breakfast but limited choice.
One of the beds was for a child.. 2’6. The bedroom was very hot up in the eaves. We could have been offered a cooler one possibly.I
Very friendly staff. The house is beautiful and comfy.
Breakfast was extra and a la carte only. Room was small and above an outside seating area.
Breakfast was fine. Location was perfect which was the reason for staying there.
Due to the hot weather I think the room should have been better prepared. The blind was up and the room was like a greenhouse. They could have shut the blind and had the fans on earlier to make the room comfortable. Very expensive for a pub!
Emplacement
Absence de climatisation
We had a great 3 bedroom suite, friendly staff and good food.
The location is lovely, the restaurant food was nice, staff were friendly.
The stairs are going to the first floor are very narrow/steep I fell going down them causing grazing on my arms and legs.
The whole weekend was perfect. Rooms were perfect nice bathroom. Such good value for money. We attended the new forest folk festival and the pub was everything we needed. A big thank you to all the staff with special thanks to Lotte. The girl was so helpful and friendly a credit to the pub Richard
No complaints at all
The staff was very nice and helpful.
Room had low ceiling in areas, bumped my head a few times.
Sehr guter Service und sehr Hundelieb! Lotti was providing excellent Service!
Bad hätte etwas sauberer sein können
Entire experience
We really enjoyed our stay here in a double+1 room. It was recently decorated and very comfortable. The staff also made the stay a joy, they couldn't be more helpful.
Phone ahead if you plan to eat during the week as service does change! Also, don't try to drive up Slab Lane if the satnav suggests this.
Change of room as we had so many problems. Lottie was very helpful and helped us move at 10pm.
Unable to contact them after trying many times over 3 days to discuss our stay. Steep 3 flights of stairs to an attic bedroom. Bed too close to sloping ceiling with no choice to avoid. Unbearably hot with fans not efficient, hardly working. Food and drink expensive. Loud music came on 5:00am! Woke us up, continued until 7:30am. Bath/Shower taps broken not able to have a bath or decent shower. Had to change rooms 10pm. Breakfast not included, the offer was expensive with little choice so went elsewhere. We stayed 2 nights but our room was not serviced during our stay therefore had to ask for more tea bags etc. Road noise from 5:30am
Personeel erg onvriendelijk.
Lovely room and great location. Super pub too. Plenty of parking. Lovely staff.
The tv didn't work in our room, but we were quickly moved with no fuss and everything was fine in the new room.
Very rude staff. Food was not served until the times stated online. We were put in an attic room on one of the hottest days in may with our baby and provided with a single fan with the air flow pressure equivalent to an asthmatic field mouse.
Lovely lovely room fab views and very comfortable.
Long waits for food.
A good location.
Delay in dinner, said option wasn't available then it was, an hour and a quarter later, our food arrived. Could hear loud music from kitchen from our room at night. Lady cleaning during breakfast, mop, bucket and hoover in doorways of restaurant.
Het ontbijt op bestelling was supergoed!!
Hygiene!!!
Everything was very good Lovely room Great staff Great breakfast Would highly recommend this place
The only small thing was when we arrived they tried to charge us more money for our stay
Confortable, clean! Tudo simples porém agradável!
Distante! Local muito tranquilo porém distante da cidade.
Quiet, friendly staff and a nice room
Could have a little more on the menu, maybe a curry or chilli
Nice cosy room, fab extra touches for the dog, great value for money
Was all great!
Proximity to the forest. The manager was very good.
The poor reception we experienced and the room/ facilities.
We requested a quiet room and it was just that. Tucked away in the eaves in furthest wing with just the two rooms we had booked in a small corridor. Private and comfortable. Bed was comfy and the shower just right.
For the price point - would not complain. A towel rail perhaps but otherwise spot on.
Good food. Allowed us to park there pre check in for hike we were doing.
Our room (7) was above the kitchen and we could hear their loud music playing from our check in Saturday afternoon (thankfully not too late into the evening) but started again early on Sunday morning.for breakfast service.
Goede parkeerplek bij hotel. Vriendelijke mensen.
Geen croissants bij ontbijt.
It was lovely area in a beautiful village. The room was very clean and looked after.
All in all met expectations and was good value for the money
It lacks character but again it delivers what it says it will
Lovely area. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff.
V noisy floorboards. Slanting ceilings in room not good for 6’3” husband! Food/tea/coffee overpriced.
Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Food was great, especially the Sunday roast. Bed was comfortable.
The games room could have been a little cleaner, dirty plates and glasses left.
We had a fantastic stay. The location and staff were excellent
A lovely warm welcome from the friendly owner and staff; very comfortable room with birds singing outside; the location on the edge of The New Forest was a very pleasant surprise.
Nothing to find fault with at all.
Location on the edge of the New Forest. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
Woodfalls Inn offers great value for money and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
The only negative was that on two mornings our preferred breakfast option was not available.
Staff friendly, location lovely and food fab.
The shower in our room (No2) was horrendous. It was either cold or scolding hot. My friend actually burnt her hand trying to use it. We had to resort to using a cup to swish ourselves down with to get washed. Thankfully we were only staying one night. Place would get an excellant rating if not for this. Really needs looking at as someone (especially a chld) could get seriously burnt in my opinion. :(
Close to New Forest and easy access to many places. Friendly welcoming staff - good food and great place to take dog with us.
We liked everything
Staff were friendly enough. Parking was great. Location was pretty good. There were new forest walks from there, and everything was just a small drive away.
The food was just okay. We asked for sources and had nearly finished the meal before they came. Another couple didn't get their sauces or toast they ordered. When they went to pay. And told staff she went running to the kitchen and found the toast was burnt. There wasn't a lot to do. We walked 20 mins down the road to another pub and they had a quiz on. We were just to late to join in.

Nice sized room, good facilities, great breakfast.
No matter what I did I couldn't get the shower temperature off red hot.
all the staff really friendly and helpful, decent sized well maintained car park, room nice, great location at the edge of the New Forest. Food at dinner and breakfast very good too

Great location for Peppa Pig World, along with a lovely restaurant and bar area serving top-quality food. This was the main reason for our return visit.
On this occasion, we were allocated Room 3, which is directly above the bar. It was quite noisy until the bar closed, after which it was fine. Unfortunately, the room itself was not very clean. There was noticeable dust on surfaces and cobwebs in the bathroom, and overall it felt like it needed a thorough clean. There were also signs of general wear and tear that could be improved with some minor attention. It’s a real shame, as the restaurant is wonderful and adds so much to the experience. With a few improvements to cleanliness and maintenance, this could be an amazing place to stay. Would I return? To the restaurant, absolutely. To stay at the hotel, probably not.
Clean, dog friendly, quiet, food was really good !!
Nothing to fault
Comfort of bed and security
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bed was perfect!
Nothing
I just thought for what we paid the twin room was low ceilings shower was terrible and the bed was for kids unfortunately won't be returning
Sehr freundliches Personal , klasse Lage
I like that the location was near to everything
The lack of Internet
Clean, nice room Great food
Could not open the windows
Fresh milk provided on request. Sheets and towels clean, . Room refreshments good.
No cold water to the shower or bath rendering both unusable. When reported to staff no alternative showering facility was offered. Carpeted floor and bathroom floor dirty with hairs from previous occupation. We expected a clean, comfortable room with somewhere to sit and a usable shower. Disappointed in all respects.
Clean Pool table Darts Sports Comfortable bed Pet friendly Polite staff Nice breakfast
Great location on the edge of the New Forest great attitude towards dogs and very friendly staff. The room was very comfortable.
Location was perfect for what we needed, the main pub areas had been recently renovated, staff weee extremely pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. Had a separate lounge area for sports viewing so if you weren’t into it you could still enjoy the main pub.
Whilst the room was well appointed the bathroom finishes were a bit worn, but really wouldn’t take much to refreshen them. Ned’s would be small for a couple.
All food (breakfast and dinner) was EXCEPTIONAL - a lovely suprise. Good pub downstairs. Clean rooms with good beds.
No normal coffee pods provided, only flavoured ones, yuk.
Nice cosy place and decent pub
Showers were not acceptable. No temperature control. Freezing cold or dangerously hot
I liked the whole place in general and the location as well as how lovely the room looked. Really enjoyed my breakfast too, even more so as I had the entire room to myself! Only dealt with one member of staff and she was very frwand welcoming.
I didn't like how dusty most surfaces in my room were and the amount of cobwebs in it. I ended up having to use toilet roll to wipe down both bedside table (the worst for dust), the shelf where the tea and coofee making facilities were and the shelf above the old fireplace. The electric cable for the kettle is so short it didn't reach the plug so had to place it on the carpet in order to use it? Not encountered this before. Also there was no seat or desk in the room but the photos upon booking showed different.
Absolutely stunning, Food was amazing Staff very friendly
Small car park
Location was fantastic Room comfortable and clean
Nothing
The building and bar
The bed, shower, tv
Good location , staff friendly . Breakfast ok
Bed uncomfortable, shower wasn’t working properly
Great and helpful
We were in the top room. Room was tidy and clean. Very nice welcome sweets, tea and coffee. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom nice and clean Breakfast was good. Limited cold choice
Shower was very hot unable toregulate with any cold..so no shower for us😫 No fresh fruit choices or Yogurts available for breakfast poor cold choices
Excellent location
Dirty towels and toilet from previous guests. Not a lit of choice for breakfast. Was told on day we were travelling down they couldn't accommodate us due to a leak, explained we were staying as group booking with friends, then suddenly an extra room appeared.
Nice country setting.
Some people outside late at night using the pub were quite noisy.
The room was very very dirty there was no breakfast we were not told until two days before and no food at all because the chef walked out there was cobwebs everywhere they had they had a fan which was full of dust that there was a lot of dust everywhere
The toilet seat was loose and apparently the last guest reported it and it still not been be fixed
Breakfast and dinner was good. Staff were friendly and helpful
the bathroon needed a wipe down as did the dressing table
