Prachtige lokatie. Bijzonder aardige eigenaren. Schoon. Wij komen graag terug
Service and friendliness was very good , breakfast was good. The hot water didn't work unfortunately and the outside of the annexe is not too exciting
It is an amazing building set in a idyllic location. Castle is not clearly marked however and it took us awhile before we ventured up the hill and saw a sign. You have free use of most of the rooms to read, meditate or whatever. Good breakfast in dining room. Make sure you stay in castle as there are 2 suites on the grounds from the 60s
Mooi uitzicht, ruime kamer, vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijt. Gebouw is gedateerd met achterstallig onderhoud.
Bijzonder hotel, je slaapt in het kasteel. Prachtige authentieke ruimtes.
Vriendelijke eigenaars. Wij komen er graag nog eens terug!
Very special hotel with good service,
Old Castle with great atmosphere. In an area with beautiful views. Ideal for running and walks in the hills. The hotel is an old castle but well maintained. Decoration and furniture are also old but also well maintained and therefor adds to the ambiance. They offer a good breakfast in the morning and other refreshments in the evenings. Enough free parking available and restaurants in the area, some at walking distance.
Grote kamer in oude stijl.
Wij komen terug!
Vriendelijke ontvangst. De receptionist gaf vrijblijvend goeie tips. Goed hotel
Kamer was niet perfect schoon, gedateerde badkamer. Stevige prima bedden, ontbijt prima, vriendelijk personeel, locatie is top: Valkenburg en Maastricht dichtbij en toch lekker rustig gelegen.
Great experience to spend a day on a castle. The lobby is amazing with ancient furniture and a fireplace with decoration of the 17th century. The rooms have all modern commodities, so ther are very comfortable. They have a lot of free parking places, and there are 2 taverns at 10 min walking to try some local food and beers. The breakfast is served on a castle dinning room, which is beautiful. And the food is also very good. Eventhough, I would not recommend this hotel if you do not have a car. It might be a little difficult to reach.
Cool place to stay - beautiful location and quiet
Marvelous older castle with great views and service. Very quiet location. Staff were very helpful. This is located near Maastricht.
Great place to stay! Nice and quiet, friendly staff.
Ok
The hotel is good with friendly staff all worth the money only issue no resteraunt as advertised
My husband describes the stay as "imagine you have a rich cousin who lives in a castle and you're visiting him." It's not a modern, immaculate, castle, but it feels real and lived in. It is family-run and they are incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.
We had a great stay here! Very unique hotel, beautiful decor and lovely staff!
this house is living on a past glory. everything is the hotel is just run down. in its hayday it would have looked magnificent, it's all looking a bit jaded now.
Loved staying there! We were there for Andre Rieu concert which was about 20 min away! 1st time staying at a Cadtle n it was awesome! Family owned for 30 years!! Breakfast was great to! Frig in room n coffee maker with sufficient coffees n teas!!
Great property if you are looking for something different. A castle built in the Late 19th. century. Modernized by the addition of a custom made elevator which not only raises but swivels to enable the 3 floors to be reached. Staff was very accomidatting and beautiful location.
Tiny room, barely large enough for a single let alone a double, No fridge!
What an interesting experience it is staying in the old castle. We were very fortunate that there were very few others in the castle, so, it seemed as though we had the whole building mostly to ourselves. Room was old but very large, clean, and comfortable. Jan (owner/mgr) and other staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
we had a lovely stay shame you could not eat at hotel.
The hotel is rated as 4star but in my opinion it is not old and quirky but in need of up dating and certainly wouldn't get a 4star rating from me! It was clean but lacked the facilities I expect from a 4star hotel.
The owner greeted us like a friend. He was very warm and very welcoming. The castle is fantastic! What a setting! It was really beautiful.
Great visit and stay at a historic hotel in Valkenburg, Netherlands. Very neat town. Older gentleman owns the place. Was occupied by German Soldiers during WW2 which was kinda a neat bit of history behind the place. Great patio view for watching the sunset.
The hotel is more of a bed and breakfast, so don't expect 5-star luxury, but that's not why you're going there. The building is really unique, you feel like you're back in time with the great decor. Since I was solo, I got one of the smaller rooms. It's not big and it's not updated, but that isn't what I was after, I was after the unique experience of staying in a castle in this historic area. It's a great experience to stay in such an incredible building in a magnificent area. It's a great walk down to restaurants or just into the tiny town below. I had to take a taxi from Maastricht train station because I was traveling by train and had no car. It will cost you about 25-30 euro to get out there, and if you want to go anywhere other than the immediate area you'll have to arrange to have a car come take you. I had a taxi drop me off and the owner of the hotel recommended a car service with whom I made an online reservation, and they were there right on time to take me back into Maastricht when I needed them to be. Also, it's important to keep your expectations in check: you're not going to get a warm, individual breakfast; it's a typical European basic breakfast of cheeses, cold sliced meats, breads, cereals and yoghurt. If you're looking for a hotel in the area for a night or two, this is a great place to stay. It's definitely an experience you'll remember!
Beautiful property! Staff was very responsive, excellent service. Booked a triple room and missed the fine print that a 3rd bed would be an additional charge. 3rd bed was actually an air mattress. Will book again.
Unique hotel on the outskirts of Maastricht with very friendly owners and a great staff. The common rooms really make you feel at home in the manor. The view from the breakfast room was really great as was the breakfast. Looking forward to our next stay!
A great experience. Very comfortable; quiet. Owner and staff very courteous and helpful. great views. would definitely stay here again.
We had a good experience, comfortable stay and great places to eat and walk.
