Duisdale House Hotel

La struttura è curata e pulita, immersa nel verde, caratteristica e fuori dal “caos” dell’isola. Lo staff è gentilissimo e super disponibile, siamo arrivati per il check-in con le scarpe bagnate dopo aver visitato le Fairy Pools e si sono prontamente offerti di asciugarcele (la mattina dopo erano asciutte e noi di nuovo operativi!).

La mancanza di un ascensore anche se lo staff si è offerto gentilmente di aiutarci con le valigie.

Quiet location on the Isle of Skye. The house was pretty, room was of good size and the staff were all friendly. Food was excellent. Dinner was fine dining with quality local flavors. The lamb was wonderful. Breakfast was a lovely Continental spread along with hot options. The smoked salmon with scrambled eggs was a win for both of us.

Not a great value. Over $675 a night for a room without true view. All the places I looked at for Skye were slightly elevated in price because of location.

Hotel von aussen und auch der Restaurantbereich sehr schön. Bad war sehr schön.

Direkte Straßenkarte. Kein Fußweg zum Hotel. Nur mit Auto erreichbar. Keine Möglichkeit am Wasser zu gehen Doppelzimmer und Bett für 2 Personen zu klein. Kaum Platz für Koffer.

There was nothing very premium about the premium room we had booked. At almost £600 for the night, it seemed very poor value. From what I hear, that’s just Skye for you.

Beautiful property, well maintained.

There were no personal touches, a garden full of flowers but none inside the hotel or the room. The staff were all very nice just short handed, always in a hurry and not trained. I asked 3 different times if they could get a reservation for dinner at a neighboring inn. Nothing was done and no dinner the second night. It’s not like you can take a short drive anywhere nearby for dinner.

The hotel and grounds were very pretty (aside from our room).

For a 4 star hotel and what we paid, we were very disappointed with the accommodations. The hotel itself was very pretty and nice, however, our room was extremely outdated, and the location was in a corner right by the staff closet where they sat on the floor right outside our door every morning at 7:00 am and talked loudly. It woke us up daily. Our windows looked out to a fire escape and we couldn’t open them because the smell of fried food was so bad it would fill the room, so the room was very hot at night.

The hotel is gorgeous and the bed was delightful.

We spent one night at Duisdale hotel in March 2026 and wanted to express how disappointed we were in the experience we had. We had a dinner reservation at 7.30pm. Our drinks and food order were taken together but the drinks took so long to come, we had already finished our starters by the time they arrived. My main course, the lobster tortellini was quite bad. It lacked any real flavour and the pasta was much too thick. I did mention this to staff at the time and the waiter just agreed it was very thick. Very odd. The food seemed so rushed we didn't feel we had time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We're usually the type of people that will order a bottle of wine and a nightcap but we were back in our room by 8.30pm finding the atmosphere and experience disappointing. The staff at reception were apologetic and very nice but I was very surprised that no gesture of goodwill had been taken were the bill was concerned. I would have expected the two glasses of wine to be complimentary for being so late or even our time at the hot tub taken off the bill. Anything. At breakfast this morning, I found 2 synthetic hairs in my eggs benedict and no one came to take our dirty plates away. It feels like the staff need a bit more training as this is portrayed as a high end establishment. We also found a blue cleaning cloth in one of our towels in the bathroom. We had been travelling around Scotland for a week and I never imagined that Duisdale house would be the one to let us down. We were told to send a message to management which we did and never heard back. Not worth the money.

Le personnel est, de loin, le grand plus : l'équipe est jeune mais semble être de bonne volonté et est fort sympathique. La chambre est propre et la literie confortable. J'apprécie le puits de lumière dans l'entrée et la double porte qui isole bien des bruits du couloir.

Le dîner est correct, sans être exceptionnel à mon goût. Tous les plats sont globalement bien réalisés, mais il leur manque à tous un petit "kick" pour les rendre marquants. Compte-tenu de la notoriété du restaurant de l'hôtel, l'ensemble du repas est donc plutôt décevant. C'était très bruyant au dîner car il y avait un grand groupe dans la salle d'à côté. C'était même difficile d'entendre ce que le serveur nous disait. Le système de check-in et d'installation des convives en salle à manger gagnerait à être plus fluide.

The room and view were wonderful. Food was fantastic, breakfast and dinner. Staff were friendly, and very helpful when bringing our bag up. With having a view right next to the water was worth the extra price.

There were only two things I didnt like. The fact that I requested for laundry to be done when I arrived, but the laundry staff left early when they were notified 24 hours in advance. The other thing I didnt like was that our room was directly above the front door, and every time the door slammed, I could hear it and couldn't sleep.

The staff were extremely welcoming and very polite, making you feel comfortable from the very first moment. The place was very clean and well taken care of, which made the experience even more pleasant. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, perfect for enjoying your stay. I would definitely choose it again and highly recommend it.

The only thing I would change would be the pillows.

The room was dirty and poorly maintained. Noisy due to external generator and contractors yelling outside our door. Thinnest walls between rooms ever, everything from next door could be heard

We were excited to stay at Duisdale House Hotel as part of our honeymoon. The staff member who checked us in was very warm and welcoming, helped with our bags, and assisted us in booking dinner, which we really appreciated. The bed was also comfortable and there was tea/coffee available in the room.

Unfortunately, our stay had some issues. There was no hot water in our room, and the showers were only lukewarm. Reception advised the boiler had malfunctioned and asked us to wait 20 minutes, but even after waiting longer the water was still cold. As we had been hiking and it was late, we ended up showering anyway. We also found the hair dryer was broken, though reception quickly replaced it within five minutes. At checkout on March 6, we shared our concerns and were told someone would contact us soon, but we have not heard anything since. While the staff were friendly, the lack of hot water during our honeymoon and no follow-up afterwards was disappointing.

Sehr idyllisches Haus, wunderschöner Sonnenuntergang. Sehr grosses Zimmer im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkunften die wir gebucht haben. Sehr zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück beziehungsweise die Frühstücksauswahl sehr grosszügig und das Abendessen ist ein 3-4 Günge Menü auch sehr lecker und es isch zwar etwas teurer aber ein fairer Preis der sich lohnt.
