Breakfast, dinner very good. room was comfortable, clean and very pleasant to stay in
No complaints about anything
Spectacular views of Cathedral peak ! Good was amazing ! Staff so helpful and friendly ! Beautiful large rooms
Everything was perfect
Our room was spacious and lovely. We absolutely loved the food, especially the Saturday braai , the best! When I arrived, I wasn’t feeling well and asked to change rooms. The staff were very accommodating and honest that the available room would be a downgrade, which I really appreciated. Overall, we had a lovely stay.
Well appointed, comfortable and real class. Beautiful surroundings.
The road to the hotel was extremely bad. I damaged 2 very expensive tyres on my vehicle. New tyres and call out cost me almost R18 000 to repair! 😢. We ended up arriving very late for dinner and although staff held the buffet for us, they were impatient and we couldn’t enjoy our dinner
Everything !
L’acqua durante i pasti viene fatta pagare.
Most breathtaking views i have ever seen.. everything was gorgeous from the food to the walks..
The bath water was brown..

Views and friendly staff
Family room had only 1 bathroom and too small for a R9k per night stay The pool area was advertised as having heated pools that we did not see The dining facilities felt aged and not inviting
The food , there's is lunch , dinner , breakfast and tea plus cakes in between
My room needs an upgrade, old furniture
Beautiful landscape

The staff were exceptionally friendly and polite! That really made the experience that much better. When I say staff, I extend this to the security guards at the entrance gates as well.
Very good location with good opportunity for hiking with guide provided by the hotel
A bit outdated already but has its soul which is good )
Views and being right in the mountains
Liked everything
STAFF ESPECIALLY MARTIN WENT THE EXTRA MILE
Amazing location, food was top notch. So much to keep adults and kids busy.
Food was generally good - breakfast was definitely the best in terms of choices of foods available. Food did run out if you didn't eat in the first hour of a mealtime. The lunch selection could have been better - maybe by adding more salad and veggie options. Comfortable room - we were 3 in the room but were only provided with 2 towels.
The protests on the road into the hotel. I think guests could have been warned.
Amazing views, location cannot be beaten. Rooms are clean, activity schedules are really good and engaging. Staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.
Sometimes the food was not as hot as it could be, and be great to have an adults only bar.
Newly renovated rooms with the old classic berg feel. The staff are welcoming and warm. The hotel and all the facilities are well run and they have thought of everything.
There was very little to not like.
Very good- lots of options.
Thr filter coffee can improve
Under floor heating for winter
Amazing location and views, been to the Swiss Alps and the Canadian Rockies and this is just as beautiful. Horse riding there cannot be recommended highly enough. All inclusive food was also great.
Nothing stunning place.
A brilliant relaxed family friendly resort with amazing hiking and huge buffets for afterwards!
We loved everything
Nothing
Superb location
Water pressure and temperature of shower poor / disappointing
The location is spectacular. Family/child friendly. Staff pleasant, helpful & friendly.
The food was very disappointing. The cost of accommodation is almost twice what we normally pay and we couldn't justify the additional expense for full board with the food on offer.
Location; friendly and excellent buffet
All the activities
Not all staff were very friendly Food was average
All OK
Staff at reception especially the lady parking "guard" who insisted we park in the overnight parking area some 200 metres from reception prior to check in. Her grasp of the English language is really poor and she was rude.
The hotel is set right at the foot of the Maloti Drakensberg mountains with stunning views all around. There are many facilities to use and the restaurant offers delicious meals. A perfect getaway to unwind and enjoy the many hiking routes around.
Stunning views, great food, big room with comfortable bed and very quiet. The personal is also super nice
My stay was too short!
everything was great
Location is Great, Suff is very friendly.
The rooms look like they have not been renovated for a long time and the carpet was a bit Dirty
Setting as always. Meals are superb. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Our standard room was very nice .
Nothing
We loved the location of the hotel with beautiful trails starting right at the hotel, the room was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The wellness center has great therapists and both my husband and I had wonderful massages. We also liked the fact that there are guided walks every day. Our stay was too short.
The food at the hotel was good in the evenings but very average at lunch (it is an all inclusive formula) and the coffee was average. The wine by the glass option was also average. The atmosphere was of a big hotel, the kids activities were not always organized as mentioned (mini soccer etc.) We would still go back whenever possible because of the prime location of the place, the confortable rooms and the SPA. We wouldn't hesitate.
The outdoor activities and the tranquility of our room made this an excellent choice. Staff interaction was really good - very professional and friendly.
The food was good, but I expected a little bit more than this from a 4-star hotel. It seems as if the place in general needs a good renovation but it may also be that weather conditions impact on the general 'look' of the facilities
The buildings are built like a maze if the signs weren't there i would not have found my room
Food was perfectly fine but nothing special
The food, the views, the hikes.

Mothing
The hotel is very well located with numerous walks and hikes starting right on your doorstep. The meals were generally all very good, although missing a few items at breakfast. We especially liked the made-to-order omlettes at breakfast, and the stir-fry and carvery at dinner. The staff providing these were all very friendly and helpful.
There was no muesli for breakfast on 2 of our 4 days, and the fruit selection with breakfast was a bit limited. Our room only had a single 2-pin plug, so we had to take turns to charge our devices. It would be very easy to add some USB points or supply some 2-pin adapters. The coffee at breakfast is the filter variety. If you order a double-espresso instead it will cost you R45 which we thought was a bit much. A Nespresso machine in the superior and higher rooms would be a great addition. There were also no cushions for the outside chairs and loungers in the executive suite.
We liked the gift shop. Michelle was kind and friendly, yet professional.
We stayed in room 222. The door made noise when closing.
Location world class Food truly superb Friendly and great atmosphere throughout hotel
Mountains, facilities, meals, staff
We had an imbalanced noisy ceiling fan in our room (82) which we reported the first evening, maintenance said it needed a new motor. Nothing was done about it for the 2 nights we were there. We had to sleep with our door and windows open to cool the room. They could have just given us another room, there were plenty of open rooms all around us.
Beautiful location and excellent and consistent service.
We had such a wonderful stay, experienced all types of weather, had a fantastic room with sunrise view from our bed and the food freshly prepared cooking was awesome, also we enjoyed the activities in our case a wonderful hike. Was a wonderful experience .
I was a bit scared about thr check out policy, but I'm sure some people took to much advantage in overstaying that it's strictly 10 am. We gladly made it
The location is amazing. The hiking is great, if at times a bit adventurous. Food was tasty and served with pride by the chefs. There was always lots of choice. The pool is great with superb views. Virtually all the staff went above and beyond their duties to be helpful and friendly.
It’s very dated. It looks like it hasn’t had a face lift since the 1970’s. Our room had a frayed carpet, a jammed door lock and was just dingy. It reminded me of an old peoples institution with all the industrial strength hand rails everywhere. The lounge has no atmosphere, is tiny and crammed full of old brown sofas. There’s not much space if it’s raining and you don’t want to spend the day in your room. The bowling pitch needs resurfacing and the bowls sets need to be complete. It was a shame we couldn’t play tennis on the new tennis courts but they only had half their white line’s painted. There are so many staff , why couldn’t someone just get on and finish the job. The restaurant staff are lovely but just too many of them wandering around grabbing your plate even before you have swallowed the last mouthful. It made meal times feel unnecessarily rushed. We arrived a bit early for check in and were ushered up in the terrace to have a cup of tea before our room was ready. I was surprised to see that added to our bill. At over £100 pppn , this isn’t a cheap hotel. A complimentary welcome cup of tea and some up market toiletries in the bathroom would have been a nice touch. So I don’t think it rates as a 4 star hotel, I don’t think it was particularly good value for money and I think it’s resting in its reputation somewhat.

Amazing rooms, staff amazing, premises clean and tidy and well maintained
Food in general was great disappointment. Quality was poor.
Lage, ausgezeichnetes Buffet

Awesome mountain views which seem almost unreal. Friendly and efficient staff. Wide selection of food to please all tastes and preferences. Lived in somewhat retro feel.
Although it is not the hotel’s responsibility, the public access roads are in a bad condition. A positive is that the last section before entering the reserve is being resurfaced.
We had the Suite and that is special. Food was good and the trekking.
It has become very expensive!
Great location, excellent food and staff, a lot of good facilities but the accommodation wasn’t up to the cost.
The accommodation is somewhat tired, everything was clean but it lacked the quality we expected for the price. Carpets needed replacing, door mats were old, patio furniture was basic, and areas needed repainting. We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed it was as sort as we hoped for the price.
Sängarna alldeles för hårda
Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Very good variety of food available on the buffet. Beautiful walks and breathtaking scenery. Love the peaceful bushbuck wandering around the resort.

I loved everything ❤️
Location
Bit dated. Steam room poor. The curtain in our room was dirty and ripped.
The location, friendly and lots of activities to do.
Everything was spectacular from the food to service! Excellent staff! Highly recommend Cathedral peak!
Only thing that could have been better was if I could have stayed longer!
