Hôtel du Rhône

Wir waren nun zum zweiten Mal hier und sind erneut begeistert. Wir finden es sehr schade, dass das Hotel Ende Jahr schliesst.

Hôtel des années 70 non rénové et qui vieillit mal.

In der Toilette war ein dentalstick in der Schüssel, auf dem Badezimmerboden bin ich in einen Ohrstecker getreten und die Fenster waren extrem verschmutz. In der Dusche ist die Brause defekt und das Treppenhaus war auxh schmutzig. Ich habe mich gefragt, welcher Standard hier angestrebt wird und wie hier das Qualitätsmanagement funktioniert.

Place was clean but quite dated.

Top location and it's so easy to get there by car or train. Very convenient parking! We enjoyed the stay as well as the city Sion so much. Will surely come back.

La chambre est correcte mais un problème d’eau chaude a un peu gâché le séjour

We like the location of the hotel,the staff was nice but not great, parking situation is not great. They don’t tell you if you get late you are to be locked out of the parking,one night we were able to get in with a card they gave us, next night they didn’t have the card and we had to park somewhere else that at the end was cheaper. They didn’t apologized or cared about our inconvenience.

We loved our stay and the hotel. Very friendly staff. The hotel room was as advertised. The view of the Basilica de Valera was magnificent. It’s an easy walk to all the sights in Sion. Parking was easy.

The hotel is very nice. Good location (10 min from the train station by walk). It’s easy to communicate with the reception in English. The room is super clean and enough room for a couple. A surprise for us is that we have a castle view from the room window. The restaurant downstairs is recommended (good food with reasonable price).

Hôtel parfaitement situé pour visiter cette bell vieille-ville de Sion. Accueil très professionnel et sympathique.

Die Lage in den Weinbergen ist wunderschön und der Blick auf den See ein Traum, aber die Straße ist genau vor dem Fenster und genau so eine Eisenbahnlinie; ich habe es deshalb vorgezogen, ein Zimmer zur Bergseite zu wählen. Das Gebäude ist sehr modern, sauber und gut eingerichtet - man kann nicht meckern.

Sauber, freundlich, professionelles Personal 👍👏

Der Empfang war herzlich und man wird auch auf deutsch angesprochen, somit fühlte ich mich wie zu Hause. Der Gastgeber war sehr flexibel bei der Umsetzung von Kundenwünsche. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig ausgebaut und sauber. Es gibt auch ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbüffet.

Alles super, schnelle und einfach.

Excellent business hotel located in center of the city which serves equally well as a good base to allow exploring Sion.

Die Dame beim Check in hat uns ewig warten lassen obwohl sie uns gesehen hatte weil sie ein wichtiges Telefonat machen musste. Anscheinend wichtiger als ihre Gäste. Danach war Sie auch noch pampig weil wir ihr gesagt haben dass wir es nicht gut finden so lange warten zu müssen. Wir haben zwei kleine Hunde dabei. Minis. Die sind ganz ruhig aber wenn sie mal allein sind und jemand an der Tür klopft bellen sie. Das ist an einem morgen wegen dem Frühstück passiert. Ich muss dazu sagen wir hatten das Kärtchen bitte nicht stören an die Tür gehangen. Als wir zurück waren kommt die, schon bekannte unfreundliche Dame, vom Empfang und klopft an der Tür (obwohl das Kärtchen da noch Gang!) um uns zu sagen dass sich angeblich Gäste über das bellen beschwert haben. Sehr hundefreundlich ist das Hotel anscheinend doch nicht. Sion war an sich ein schönes Städtchen und das Hotel in einer guten Lage. Parkplatz und Hund haben je Nacht je10€ zusätzlich gekostet.

Comfortable room. Had everything we needed. Good location near train, bus, and old town. No air conditioning, but we knew that when we booked it.

Grosses Zimmer und Badezimmer. Genug Platz für 3 Personen. Ruhig, zentral. Super für kurze Aufenthalte.

Wir sind immer mal wieder in diesem Hotel und es hat alles gut gepasst. Die Lage vom Hotel ist sehr zentral und von dort aus, kann man die Stadt Sion gut zu Fuss erkunden.

Einfacher Check-In, sehr hilfsbereites freundliches Personal, gute Lage und eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf die Valère, Alpen und die umliegenden Berge mit ihren Weinreben. Die Badewanne war leider sehr klebrig und auch sonst wirkte das Badezimmer verstaubt (Lüftungsgitter, Haarfönkabel, etc.).

Gute Unterkunft, Zimmer war zu warm.

Das Zimmer war ok. Die Lage des Hottls hervorragend.

War mit dem Hotel, Zimmer und dem Frühsteck insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Das Hotel liegt auch in einer sehr guten Lage. Service und Angebote im Hotel sehr gut. Werde bei meinem nächsten Aufenthalt in Sion auf jeden Fall wieder dieses Hotel berücksichtigen.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Aber das Zimmer wurde nicht gemacht, trotzdem wir den Türhänger richtig platziert haben. An der Reception gab es eine lapidare Entschuldigung - wär hätten den Türhänger falsch plaziert. Aber die offerierten Mineralwässer war wieder eine gute Idee

Chambre petite, vieillotte. Cher pour ce que c'est mais bien situé. Y avons déjà été mais avons eu chambre plus grande. Salle d'eau rikiki. Faut ajouter 10.- parking par jour pour parking dans limmeuble partagé avec Coop. Sommes restés avec boite kleenex vide. Suivi pas serieux. Heureusement petit-déjeuner varié et copieux pour 15.-

Beaucoup trop cher en relation du service. Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel qui est en revanche bien situé. L'hôtel ressemble à une casemate sans âme...

etwas altbacken, aber in Ordnung. Erinnert ab die 70iger Jahre. Sauber und alles in Ordnung. Frühstück wirklich alles vorhanden. Direkt im Zentrum.

Sehr heisses Zimmer

Propre confortable très bien situé avec énormément de restaurant et bars à proximité. Parking sur place et vue sur la montagne sympa (photo vue de la chambre) Bruit du ruisseau la nuit (et des fêtards dans une moindre mesure) Sans charme mais utilitaire.

Super zentrales Hotel mit feinem Frühstück und Abendessen. Netter Service. Etwas renovationsbedürftig (Teppich, Flecke an der Wand, etc.)

Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Matratze war sehr bequem. Toller Blick direkt auf die Burg. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Grosse Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet. Würde ich zur jederzeit wieder buchen

Enjoyable one-night stay at a good located hotel. Rooms were confortable, breakfast was very good and staff helpful.

Hôtel très bien placé, au centre, à deux pas de la vieille ville. Personnel avenant et très sympathique avec les enfants. Restaurant avec un excellent rapport qualité/prix et un service impeccable.

Sehr bemüht, den Aufenthalt trotz Corona so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten.

One of the best hotels in Sion. Room is clean and tidy, and relatively spacious. Bed is very comfortable.

Small hotel with decent rooms an nice breakfast

I stayed at Hotel du Rhone for 2 nights in mid July 2019. The reason for my trip was to watch Everton play Monaco in a pre-season friendly. The hotel is well situated in the beautiful town of Sion. The staff were friendly with Simon at reception going out of his way to be helpful. I ate breakfast twice at the hotel. The breakfast was buffet style and adequate. The room was basic and my one problem with the hotel was lack of aircon in my room. The weather during my stay was warm and the lack of aircon made the room uncomfortable. As long as the weather is not warm Hotel du Rhone offers value for money.

easy check in and check out, great location, spacious room for two, all in all a very good place to explore Sion from, fairly close to the main bus and train station aswell

Clean, functional, but quite dated property. Friendly staff, rich breakfast buffet, but nothing is cozy or inviting about staying inside this hotel.

Hôtel du Rhône was in an excellent location. Very clean and comfortable beds. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, informative and friendly. The breakfast that was included with that room rate, was wonderful. So much variety in foods and the restaurant staff provided excellent service. I would absolutely stay there again!

Decent hotel.

Clean but a little dated

Location, location, location! The hotel is close to everything...restaurants, cafés and shopping. You will also find a supermarket a few steps away. The reception is probably one of the best we experienced...but, this hotel brings you back to the 50’s...tiny bathroom, no air conditioning (they do give you a small fan) and you need to use 2 separate elevators to get to the rooms. They do however provide you with excellent WiFi access.

The location could not be better with a City Coop next door (for Americans, similar to Super Target but far more upscale). Easy 7 minute walk from train station. Front desk staff speaks English and the room was large and comfortable for 3 with a mini fridge and Espresso maker. Corner room with gorgeous views (301). Did not eat at the onsite restaurant with several dietary allergies among us and menu was not for us with the food restrictions, although the restaurant looked charming and was busy frequently. Grabbed meat, cheese and wine for a couple meals from Coop. Overall, the stay was great and highly recommend!

The hotel is in the center of the lovely town. Everything is within walking distance. The choice of food of the hotel restaurant is limited but fun.

The location of this hotel was perfect for us. It was close to EVERYTHING Sion had to offer. It was clean and comfortable and we had a terrific view of the castle from our window.

The hotel is very well located in Sion, however the bedding is fit for winter (heavy & warm) but there is no air-conditioning and in September the room was exceedingly warm and made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Clean, modern hotel. Located near the old part of town, just below the 2 historic chateau on the hill. Excellent restaurant.

Clean, modern, close to the train station, main castle attraction, and the old part of the city. Great location. Everything within walking distance. Rooms were clean and more modern than traditional Swiss rooms. Breakfast was excellent.

Not the very most modern hotel, but I slept very well and the breakfast was decent. Even if the room was not modern it was clean. Big plus for a coffee-machine and a real desk. The Wifi was really fast, I got surprised as it usually is slow at Hotels - but this was really a positive experience.

The staff were very sweet. However, it was very hot and the room did not have air conditioning or any kind of ventilation. It was very uncomfortable at night.

Friendly staff, Coop parking directly under hotel at 10CHF per day which is good, restaurant is good and breakfast is adequate. Only complaint is that the room was very warm and even with the window opened the room has difficulty to cool down. It is summer and air condition would be good. Feather pillows were too soft and bed too hard. Otherwise room is big, with bar fridge and coffee & tea making facilities. Train station only 10 minutes walk away. Restaurants and shops at hand.

Arrived for the Grand Raid, cool for cyclists the hotel has a place to store your bikes.

The hotel was in the middle of the town and also near to the railway station which is exactly what we required.

The location is great. Only 5 minutes of walking distance to wherever you want to go. We stayed in the family room, which is like a spacious apartment. The room was very clean. The breakfast was also great. Everything fresh!

I visit Sion several times a year on business and have always stayed at this hotel. While the building is a little dated the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent and have always treated me exceptionally well. I will continue to stay here in future visits.

We stayed 4 nights here while we explored the surrounding area. Location is great, shops are just downstairs. Room was clean and quiet, staff were very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very good breakfast buffet with lots of fresh fruit

While an excellently situated hotel minutes away from some rather tasty restaurants (and a conditorie) the hotel is in the middle of its life. While everything was clean and the bathrooms redone recently, the bedrooms could use some remodelling (and a uniform colour). The fact that this hotel was actually on top of the Rhone (sub-terranean at this point) was quite amusing. It has a beautiful view of the Sion castle in the morning.
