The hotel design is stunning, especially when colorfully illuminated at night. It offers free access and a shuttle to adjacent warm springs.
The location is out of town, so there isn't much to see, except the hotel itself, and the dining options are limited.
spectacular night light show
Breakfast is just so so
Facilities is good, Staff’s attitude is good, but check in too slowly
do not go to this hotel, they are really scammer, see the standard of room and facility that is in the name of sheraton, electrical DB in your room, no ventilation in bathroom, bad interior and cheapo amenities. Hotel F&B staff dunno USPH, they clean floor with ditergent and then use same glove to cook your noodle, what the hell! Just watch out!
Rooms look bigger in the pictures, in reality they are a bit small.
Interesting architecture and nice illumination at night. Worth a short visit
The service was very poor, not what you expect at a Sheraton hotel. The lady at the checkout was without any reason very unfriendly. In the restaurant the service was not at all attentive, they even forgot our order! And we had to ask for getting a clean table! Very disappointing! The bar on top of the hotel is closed.
We arrived late at the hotel. Had glimpses of the beautiful lightings but rushed for dinner and then to the spa. By 10 pm, all the lights were switched off. Therefore must arrive at the hotel by 3 pm to enjoy the spa and see the evening lights Breakfast was good
One of the twin bedded room configuration had huge pillars, long rectangle and a very inconvenient toilet
The hotel was clean , centrally located. The staff were absolutely amazing
It was surprised to smell the smoke when we were heading downstairs to check out,Very disappointed for 4star hotel like this 。Would be nice to control the cigarette smoke from the gusts .
Excellent!
The aircondition is worst and we use the heater there. Maybe due to the high demand during the new year, the service is bit out of order when do the check in and breakfast.
The hotel itself is resort for a hot spring area. I stayed there before the room had an awful smell. But this time it was very clean and very luxurious. Marble walls and floors. The design itself you feel it is a little bit old . breakfast had choices for western taste.
The language barrier is still very high as the English by the staff is almost non existent and the only way to communicate is with an translation App
The Hot Springs!
The area is closed down, a bit quiet not much open.
Landmark hotel in Huzhou. From room we can see the sunset of Lake Taihu. Free entry to hot spring which includes many types of hot spring such as milk hot spring, wine hot spring, and so on. Room was luxurious. No club lounge for Marriott elite members. Breakfast was very good.
(1) Staff in hotel has excellent approach to guests. People are the biggest strength of hotel. (2) very comfortable bed, (3) variety of choice and good quality of breakfast, (4) fast and stable internet, (5) nice fitness room, (6) hot springs
All what shouldn't happen in 5-star hotel, sorry guys: (1) dirty chairs in restaurant (2) stains on the walls in the room (3) ground bar having a variety of alcohols and not serving drinks (maybe due to COVID restrictions, whatever!), (4) sky bar closed
I entered into a dark room, took by phone torchlight and searched for more than 10 minutes for light switches. These switches have very faint labels and not located in a single panel. The toilet function need a techy person to figure out! I took 5 minutes to locate the flush which appear as 2 water drops on a side panel. Nice from the outside, but not worth the price of RMB2.1k/night including breakfast.
The outside scenery was wonderful, had hot-water bath. Service was good. it was pleasant to put my fat body into different types of hot-water bath. But, unfortunately i missed boating experience and till now, i want to go back to time and correct my mistake.
This hotel has a very special frontage and quite unique . All the rooms have a big balcony and lake view. However, the price is high for what has to offer . Old decor that needs to be refurbished . Access to the rooms quite inconvenient having to change lifts . Food in the restaurant is little to desire . Breakfast is a buffet with a selection. But re topping the food is not done timely leaving many plates and bread basket empty . Staffs are courteous and attentive .
We were looking for a nearby city from Shanghai to stay at for the weekend to celebrate a special occasion and we came across a photo of building that is in horse-shoe shape and surprisingly it is Sheraton. Arrival was great, they speak English which we thought will be a hassle but was easy. They upgraded our room to a lake-view, amazing view (though the room was in a smaller size and the photo advertised showed bathtub on the window but it was not on actual), but it didn’t matter. The service....It was actually great and exceeded expectation. The Room Service was great, the Balinese Massage was awesome. Cod Burger at The Feast was surprisingly great and fresh! They also offer buffet barbecue in evenings where we met Chef Gary who made extra mile. We requested for fresh coconut juice but unfortunately they ran out of it but he and his team took initiative to buy it from outside for us, I mean WOW!!! Elf Wang was also good and attentive and there was also one from The Feast (forgot to ask his name, who speaks well English, probably their manager), was really attentive and great. The Hot Spring is in next hotel(different hotel just 2-3min and they will bring you from/to) and you have to buy Vouchers but they have us free. But even with a fee of 188RMB pp, IT IS WORTH IT. Overall experience was amazing and would definitely recommend!
This is definitely one the best hotels I’ve been to in Asia. The view is breathtaking and the staff are very warm and welcoming. We had a great stay. Tip for travelers in China : download the DiDi app to book taxis and make cash payments at completion of your trip.
We picked the hotel because of the architecture. Upon arriving we saw immediately that it could use some renovations. Paint was gone, in the bathroom the floor was taped at the windows etc. The rooms are really nice and big. The Bathroom was enormous. Balcony with a great view over the lake and property. It is a bit hard to get to your room, going down, crossing underneath and going up again. We only found one waiter that spoke English, even at the reception hardly English spoken, not expecting that at a Sheraton hotel. Food in the restaurant is very Chinese oriented.
We stayed at the club suite exec suite offering a Panoramic and commanding view of the Lake Tai. Most of the staff were friendly and eager to help, we were able to access the nearby hotspring and there were a good range of hotel restaurants to pick from.
Very very nice lake view in this part of the world. The hotel is well maintained. And the staff were helpful, still needs to improve in the areas of knowledge of the hotel. One thing which drop the score of this hotel is; if you target as a hot spring resort hotel, please have them ready and working all year round
The Sheraton Huzhou and Hot Spring Resort has a nice outward appearance. The staff is nice, but the rooms are falsely advertised on the Marriott website. It shows club level rooms, but there is no club. The hot springs area near the hotel are a great way to relax and it is nice that the hotel provides a shutte.
Awesome hotel with such a awesome lighting with beautiful scenery around. Staff were quite polite and quite helpful with such a graceful smile. We would love to come back again . Price seems to be quite expensive.
Highly unprofessional staff at check in, seems they use trainees at their elite guest check in counters, incompetent girls without proper English and lack of understanding for International business travelers. The guest relations manager, also a junior staff, blamed their IT system and “procedure” for the lousy check in, instead of delivering positive guest experience. The building is old and the facade in poor condition, absolutely overpriced, the worst Sheraton in China I have ever stayed! The swimming pool is small and they force you to wear a swimming cap, the lagoon is full of green brown water full of water plants. Positive was the upgrade for Marriott Elite guests, their bar with impressive live music and a competent manager called Mars. Nevertheless, can not recommend this hotel!
My brother and I stayed here 2 nights because of the unusual building shape. I do not usually choose 5 star hotels so enjoyed the luxuries here. Our room was on 21st floor in the Crystal tower and had a balcony view towards the fountains. The room had an iPad to control lighting, curtains and temperature and the bathroom included a tv to watch in the bath and a high-tech toilet with remote control flushing, washing and drying options for 4 users. There was a separate shower which we didn't use as full facilities at hot springs spa. Our deal included a great buffet breakfast with western options including made to order omelette and honey direct from the comb. We had to catch an early train and Phoenix Wu arranged for us to have some takeaway before the buffet was opened. We also enjoyed 2 included visits to the indoor hot springs where there are 25 pools with different temperatures and health benefits to soak in. Some also have jacuzzi jets. The light show on the outside of the building is great and can be viewed from some of the pools. The lobby has spectacular crystal lighting. Close to Shanghai.
Beautiful hotel, very impressive. The hot springs in a separate building is a nice feature also.
This hotel is among the finest in the Suzhou/Huzhou areas. Worth a day trip from Shanghai or Hangzhou to relax at the hotel. I had a room with a view of the lake. It was great to get up early and watch the boats in the water. Very relaxing. The staff was great. Food in the restaurants was superb. It’s near beautiful old water towns. My highest complements to the great hotel with a wonderful design!
Hotel buidling design is very spectacular, with the lighting effect, and its lake view in front. The room is very good, lighting, curtain, and toilet in the room control by digital device. Breakfast and dinner are many choices and delicious, especially sea food. I'm looking forward to stay in this hotel again in the near future.
Very Good restaurants up at top floors, Wonderful 360 views from up above aswell.... amazingly beautiful interior and also wonderful lighting show at night... must visit when in Huzhou!! definitely recommend this place
The Sheraton in Huzhou is a true eyecatcher, by day and night. The rooms are up to standards for a 5* Hotel and each room has a balcony. The view on the seaside is a Little more expensive than garden view(I think it's nicer). In the night on the lake side is nothing to see. For me it was the stay to celebrate the birthday, I assume as some other guest do. The Hotel does not care about it. The athmosphere is friendly, but that's it. For diner we had the buffet. Very Chinese and very good if you like it. Mövenpick icecream - wow - I though, but only the label was remaining no icecream available. Included in the buffet are the drinks as well, but no wine - that's very strangeand for me inadequate. The breakfast (even without bread) was fine - Chinese styl, yes of course Huzhou is in China, but it's a Sheraton - some people rate it 7 stars, what I don't understand. We booked a non smoking room, the whole hotel is non smoking, we were told. But our room smelled terrible of smoke - we just realized it too late. The reason, we check in, went to the room, dropped our luggage and went for taking Pictures and a walk. After dinner and further pictures we reaized the smell of smoke in the room. So we cleaned the air with our lungs over night. Of course the balcony invites the smokers to relax and smoke - no problem. The fitness area is up to standard, we love to Play tabletennis they have nice equipment, but we had to pay extra for this - inadequate?! We tried the 'Hot Spring' as it is part of the name of the Sheraton. And that's why for me the Sheraton does not have 5 stars but only 4 stars. To have the Name 'Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort' the expectation is a SPA with hot spring. No, it's not what it is. We were driven to a neighbour hotel 'Thai Styl' we were the only guest for the hotspring. There are two parts an indoor and an outdoor 'resort'. The indoor 'resort' was closed and some work was carried out. We had to pass through this closed area. The outdoor hotspring was maintained so so. The water in the pools was hazy and coloured - very strange. We havn't tried them - just too durty. We relaxed beside the lake and enjoyed the quiet place, but not the HotSpring - it's simply not existing. My conclusion the Hotel is fine, the restaurant is fine, the location is great, the hot spring is nothing.
This is one of the most iconic hotels in Asia, as closely identified with the city as any. It has an excellent reputation so I had high expectations. They exceeded those on nearly every level. The property is beautiful, if a little odd at times (an underground moving walkway to get to the elevators is weird, but neat.) The rooms themselves are great, and the lakeside views are stunning. And the service is absolutely first-class. My colleagues and I were reviewing this as we're expecting to host an event here next year, and they did everything possible to ensure our business. Highly recommended.
It was a really lovely hotel. A little pricey because it’s clearly a popular Wedding and family destination . I thought it was very pretty and staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. I like to stay at hotels with club lounges for added attention and service but they were renovating that area. I was disappointed and that staff did everything to make it up to me.
Far away from city!
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous looking at it from the outside. It's a decent hotel inside but nothing extraordinary. Breakfast buffet is way overpriced at about $35. Walked through the dinner buffet but decided it wasn't going to be worth the $70 price. At $317 a night, it's only worth 3 stars. If the price was $200 or less, then 4 stars.
The unique ring shaped structure is indeed very impressive. But I am not sold by the interior. Big round bathtub can be a Wow factor when you enter the room. But can be an obstruction as you go to the bathroom or lavatory on your every day use. Meaning poor lay out. Room is equipped with many technically advanced amenities (like lights and curtains controlled by an iPod) but unfortunately, not user friendly at all. The high ended Roca wireless automatic toilet./bidet is not working. The hotel name has "Hot Spring" on it. We can not find any. Breakfast is poor in terms of food and service for such a high class hotel.
If yiu want to take the time to head inland from Shanghai and still stay in a top class hotel this is the one. The hotel is amazing and we'll worth the trip
truly spectacular facility; the night time lighting is a real attraction. Very courteous staff. Managers do actually enforce the no-smoking policy (law) which other Chinese hotels and restaurants don't! Excellent breakfast. Dinner prices are high. Beautiful room.
