Not much
Very run down , food tasteless
Perhaps this is the only international hotel in the area of Xuzhou but there are lots to be improved upon. The hotel has seen its better days as room though clean showed signs of aging especially in the bath area whereby the rubber seals are dirty. Though it is a 5 stars hotel, I was surprised that only the Chinese restaurant is open for dinner and the other restaurant is a breakfast only restaurant. Breakfast catered more to local guests rather than international guests. Overall the hotel would not make my cut for a 5 stars hotel
hotel rooms are spacious with great breakfast
There are no outlets beside the bed, the other outlets in the room were worn out, meaning they couldn’t hold a plug, causing equipment not to charge and this is a potential fire hazard. The hotel wants you to pay at check-out, no matter if you have paid online in the booking.com app. this means you can’t use booking.com credit and need to contact customer service for reimbursement. hotel should just block the prepaid option!
Alice tried her best to make my stay comfortable!
In booking. Com it says this hotel has a club, and I booked a club room and checked in just like any regular guest. I came to find that the so called club is the lobby lounge which is not a club lounge and offers same food as a dimsum restaurant. Very low class for a crowne plaza. The workers are all so unprofessional, if you don't tell them, you will never get tableware. The food is decent. But no real club service is offered for elite guest. BOOKING. COM PLEASE remove that line about clubs as this is not a club and I felt robbed as I had to pay all my dinners even during happyhour as everything offered in happy hour is not for my taste, or not suitable for the time is being offered. All staff need to be re-trained; today in the morning I was guided to a table in a half empty restaurant, then to come back to eat my breakfast facing a stranger without any manners smacking his lips as he slurped his soup. I have shared tables at public restaurants before, but there's a level of standard that even a 3 star hotel must uphold and you don't expect this low level service at a Crowne plaza. Tables must be assigned accordingly! And on the first day I waited 20 minutes to get bacon in an empty restaurant is totally unacceptable! Very poor service and total waste of money!
This hotel is really fantastic. Best location, easy to arrive by different ways. Spacious room, very clean inside. Superb facilities, especially gym center. Also the food, super yummy, the price is good! Best option for business trip.
This is a disappointing experience for those people used to staying at Crowne Plazas. Why? 1. The majority of the staff speak almost no English, some of them were rude 2. I had a fly buzzing round my room for the night of my stay 3. Room service food was disgusting and inedible 4. The hotel location is not convenient if you want to walk outside for a restaurant or convenience store 5. The pool did not seem heated even though it is November Apart from these glaring problems the building itself is impressive, room size good. Suffice to say, it was not something to relieve the weary traveller after a long day's travel on the train!
I stayed there for approx. a week while visiting Chinese University of Mining and Technology in 2018. It was a lovely stay. The rooms are spacious at high quality and have either balcony or terrace. The bathroom has high standards and amenities are plentiful. The breakfast is amazing with many choices and chance to try many different tastes. Only the coffee of course does not reach European standards. I highly recommend the place.
Everything was great, however there is not very much in the surrounding area. Certainly nothing within walking distance.
Only one night stay for business trip Good hotel, room king size and very clean Restaurant not at full service cause first of may holiday and for business hotel is not so good Great lake view from the room window Generally a nice place to stay
The servant Cuiwen Wang (王翠文) came into my room and helped me to close and lock the door in balcony.. she is super nice person, kindly directed me how to write the review.. thank her very much. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.
I was on a business trip and stayed at this crowne plaza. It is a lovely facility and with a jogging map too. The gym is opened from 6am to 11pm and almost never did I see a person in there so you can work out in peace. The staff was super friendly and had smiles on their faces always. The breakfast is on the basement floor and I did love their coffee and omelette! Would for sure stay here again! The bed was comfy and room was very spacious!
The hotel is situated next to the lake. Which is very picturesque. The hotel is a little isolated as to shops and restaurants in walking distance. My only complaint is that there seems to be no heating in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. This makes it a little uncomfortable. The rest of the hotel is nice and warm. So seems strange why restaurant is cold.
very nice and comfortable room , very good brekfest
Nice hotel in Xuzhou
We booked an executive room expecting a club lounge and full meeting room access. There is no lounge but there was a meeting room. We had to pay for water & coffee. Anyway the clincher for us was we wanted to use a projector for which there was a fee of 200rmb. There is really no bar area and my room had some fly’s in it. The best thing about the hotel was breakfast and the nice outlook of the lake. To be fair Xuzhou is not a tourist destination so you can do much worse
Loved this hotel! Very big room at a nice price. When I visit China again. I will definitely stay here!
Even though a small city, hotel is nice and quite close to everything.
Hotel is good. Buffet is nice and priced just right. Staff are helpful, respectfull and attentive. Rooms are huge. Nice bed and all super clean and well maintained. Hotel is a bit far from everything but still good.
Stayed just 1 night when travelling for business, I went out for dinner so can only give a limited review, however, no issues... A great hotel that has better standards than some intercontinental hotels from IHG. Good comfortable room, service excellent and well looked after at check in. Thanks, I may be back!
Rooms are very clean & location has an awesome lake view
I visited Xuzhou for one night during a business trip to China. The Crowne Plaza was clean and comfortable, and quiet. Buffet dinner was ok, lots of choices. Some staff speak English, several are proficient. AC was fine in my room.
Xuzhou is a large city but their hotel variety is bad. As far I could find, this was the only international-chain hotel in the city. What a shame. If I compare this hotel to my 2014 stay, it has gone down the drain. However, without comparison, it is still somehow acceptable, but getting old and needs renovation. My room was dark even after switching on all lights. Light system is also confusing to control. Desk chair is bad. There is no executive lounge in this hotel, and for executive guest, they serve evening happy-hour in the lobby. But there is no variety of fruits and vegetables. Internet was bad, during my entire stay. Aircon was not cool enough
The property is what you would expect from an American resort. The only thing I would change is Americanize the swimming pool. (increase the temperature of the water and add some kiddo features like a slide and a kiddy pool). I would also like to see an American chef in the kitchen. American hamburgers don't have raw eggs but do have mustard and mayo. But after years of living in China this place with seem like heaven when compared to a Chinese hotel.
I booked a room directly from the Hotel website. I got a room with two Queen bed. Beds & pillows were very comfortable. Room had a balcony facing the lake. I ask a hotel staff and they told me this hotel is about 6 years old. Everything still looks new. Bathroom is modern. Hot water was plentiful when you take a shower. I think they turn off the air conditioner when the weather is cool outside. But being cool outside may not necessarily be cool inside the room. So we requested them to turn on the air conditioning system. The did turn on the Air conditioner but towards early morning, they seemed to have turned it off. The Breakfast and dinner buffer was OK. The hotel is 9 kilometer from Center City. Taxi ride is about 25 RMB. When we were there, there did not seem to be many hotel guest. Staff is very friendly and efficient. I had a good stay there.
I stay here quite frequently for business trips, and the hotel is very nice for the most part. Great service when you arrive, good food (both Western and Chinese), amenities, etc. The rooms are spacious, and the surrounding area has a nice view of the lake with walking/running trails. The biggest complaint I have is that the rooms are HOT during every season. Adjusting the thermostat does nothing (ie....set it at 22C, and the room temp will just stay at 26C). They need a major overhaul/upgrade of their air conditioning system in my opinion.
Great place to stay. Great staff. Excellent exchange facility and rates. Fast (quick bite) food...in lobby. Great service and easy to communicate with staff. Room rate and size are not only excellent but cozy.
The service is very good and all staffs are very friendly. I can't find any other international brand in this area so I choose to stay here when I visit Xuzhou. However, I am satisfied with my choice.
Check in super fast, had spacipus room with roomy airy balcony on third floor overlooking the serene mountains, and green manicured landscape, like a wonderful therapeutic dream come true, for the soynd of mind. Balcony had two chairs and an overhead light. Room had all the amenities, with a built in safe. TV programming, had many english stations. Shower was excellent with very good water pressure and controllable temperature. Room lighting very good, and fast Wi-Fi. Breakfast had a very good western variety, and excellent service with good ground coffee. This is definitely the hotel of choice when in Xuzhou.
This hotel has a very nice view of Lake, very peacefull hotel and equipped with jogging track. Breakfast was full of option of menu and delicious. Unfortunately, most of the staff was not speak English. The room was big, clean and tidy. For business traveler, this hotel is a very good option
This hotel is in a good area, next to a large park. I was told it is the best option for that city. It was not up to 5 star standards by any means. The beds were pretty hard and made it hard to sleep well. But the A/C actually worked which is more then I can say for many hotels in China. The place was not well maintained in some areas. But overall I'm sure for the area its good. This place is deep in China semi-rural area. I was literally the only American there so take this review from that perspective.
First time in the hotel in Xuzhou. Clean rooms and comfortable. Quiet area and no hassle. Breakfast buffet was average. Would probably visit this hotel again, pretty decent. Didn’t have enough time to explore.
Overall a very pleasant stay. The area and nearby park is well kept, but not enough shopping or eateries around. Hotel restaurant is very expensive. Nearest shopping and food place is located at Wanda Plaza which cost around 15rmb.
It was ok however they really need to improve the quality of their food.
The environment was good. However, there was not anything within walking distance.
Arrived late first evening and been checked in a room with plywood bed...then discovered next morning they only had a few of them in the whole hotel, so got an upgrade to a suite for the following night. Great lake around but that's it. Thai restaurant had low stock and none of the 3 first meals we wanted to order. Great breakfast buffet, but ends at 10 sunday morning...
Great hotel with beautiful atmosphere & surrounding view.
Certainly a very nice hotel in a good location though not very central, however a 15 minute taxi ride will take you any where you want to go. Room was well appointed though far to warm and the airconditioning was not adjustable. Buffet was awful, food cold and unappetizing, breakfast was OK though not of the standard one would expect of Crowne.
Very nice and comfortable
2 days in that city i can say this is the best hotel in town, in a very nice area, very cold in some public areas, but i just did realized that is very common in some cities in China. But food is good specially when you do not want to eat local food
Isolated location, poor finishing touches to furniture and fittings, dirty bathtub, breakfast overstaffed with watchers not assisting, muzac too loud and dramatic, freezing cold sitting areas, extraordinarily long check in/check out, long wait for taxis and for goodness' sake, can the front staff tell the breakfast staff yes, we've already paid for breakfast? Nobody likes being hassled about it while eating. Thanks, hope this helps.
I really wasn't impressed with my stay in this hotel. Breakfast buffet was not good at all, food was very bland and lacked variety, even the coffee tasted stale. Their housekeeping staff need more training, the bathroom wasn't cleaned well and they didn't even re-stock the notepad in the room. I arrived somewhat late during my first night, and I had to deal with someone from the front desk who needs to learn how to convey genuine warmth and hospitality. No one even offered to help me with my bags. At the very least I expected to be led to the elevators but the front desk staff simply pointed it out. Lastly, even the fixtures/fittings weren't bolted properly, the towel rack fell when I tried to take one of the towels, it was more of a slight tug rather than a pull. It could have easily fallen on someone's head. A lot of improvement is really needed.
Nice and new,..little way from the city,..but very nice locale, helpful staff,..if can't speak Chinese suggest get good written details for taxi directions...
