The property was stunning, very good location with a lot of amenities.
The shower did not drain properly.
Nice bar and restaurant. Good food. Friendly and helpful staff.
The room did not look clean. Grubby carpets, unclean rim of shower. Sink still had remnants of soap from previous guest. However the bed /bedding was spotless.
Lovely location in the centre of the village. Evening staff, when we arrived with a helpful and friendly.
Morning breakfast lady was very miserable and unhelpful and needs to find another job
Evening meal x2.
It was convenient for us and the sleep was comfortable
The shower was a bit dirty round the bottom and the carpet was stained. Coffee at breakfast was instant that you had to make yourself.
Breakfast was served on the smallest plate ever looked rushed no spoons stayed here before and liked it last year won’t be staying again 132 pound. Th e window wouldn’t open and if it did would shut down instant dangerous to be fair. Paint falling of the walls randomly the bed was so uncomfortable. We was top floor it’s like we got given the dirty rubbish room it was dirty 132 pound more than usual when last paid and he experience wasn’t worth 70 pound won’t be staying again
Look above wrote in wrong bit
All of it.
Lovely clean hotel, excellent food friendly staff
Nothing
Location was close to Wedding venue
No lift, top 4 steps of stairs dangerous, shower door stuck, also carpet lifted when opening bathroom door, drawer knob missing, drawers not closing properly. No double glazing & over looking beer garden These were the faults after 5 mins in the room, we had already changed from1st room as it was tiny with a rockety bed. We were told no one available after 5pm on premises until nx morning. We didn't stay although we had booked 4 nights & had to forfeit one night's payment. We were after traveling all day to get there. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement.
We stayed on our wedding night last year & our anniversary this year. The hotel, restaurant and surrounding area are lovely. Spacious rooms and friendly staff. Free parking around the back on Stafford Street - very convenient. Breakfast is incredible, super high quality ingredients and really tasty. Nice continental buffet options alongside a cooked breakfast. Worth staying just for the breakfast!
The bathroom in our room could have been cleaner, and also the shower door (massive glass panel) doesn't fully open as the sink is in the way. I understand it's quite a small bathroom but this feels like a bit of an oversight as you really have to be careful when opening the shower door. Some wear and tear in the room, could do with a bit of a refresh honestly as it feels a bit tired. Bed wasn't super comfortable. The pillows were excellent but the mattress wasn't great.
Beautiful location great comfy bedrooms
The Lion was located well in the centre of Brewood. Rooms were very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Staff were very Friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Location and restaurant staff lovely
How friendly the staff were
The stairs maybe a struggle for some, very hot and stains on the carpet
Location. Breakfast.
Shower was broken and dangerous as thermostat was set at boiling then fell off shower tray overflowed going through the ceiling. We couldn't shower as a result but we'd paid for it.
It was very nice in every aspect
Nothing i can think of
It was unique well presented and has a great restaurant delivering excellent food
Bed low, soft and uncomfortable with foot board not great for tall people. Bathroom cramped and had to leave bathroom door open to sit on toilet. Shower flooded and needed general maintenance. The hotel does not respond to any messages and you will need to call to book a table for food
The staff were amazing
The pillows and mattress could be better. However this is a minor criticism and wouldn’t put me off staying again
Handy free parking, fairly comfortable room.
Regardless of being residents at the hotel, a place in the restaurant for an evening meal is not guaranteed here unless booked in advance,(would be good if they were to tell you this upon booking!) first night we were 'squeezed' in, food was ok, but expensive, not particularly enjoyable, as a table of 4 girls were obviously very tipsy and extremely loud spoiling it for everyone else; we decided, having eaten,to find a quiet spot downstairs, only to find that the communal space had been reserved by the same noisy lot; 2nd night we gave up on the idea of supper and did something else! Breakfast was served on a small side plate, toast had seen only a short glimpse of the toaster, sausage was over cooked to within an inch of its life. Having been asked on the Saturday what time we would like breakfast Sunday morning, we arrived at the table only to be told that we would have to wait because they didn't start until later on a Sunday, nothing was ready, and the waitress looked like she'd just got out of bed, not good when wanting to get away early for a day out. There were other little niggles in the room, small beds, bits falling off the shower, TV not working, bird poo on the windows, that's about it. Not impressed with the staff attitude either. We were very much looking forward to our short stay, but definitely won't be going again, too many things let the place down. My advice, go elsewhere.
Good location
All good.. bathroom shower could be better
The area
The windows, needs double glazing, as you can hear alll traffic during the night.
Rachel and her team were super friendly. Really great service from the deputy manager and dining team. Beautiful spacious room, lovely restaurant, great location, fab good value food, highly recommend.
Nothing
The front of house was very cold, unwelcoming and did not have a smile on her face, we as guest were hesitant to ask anything due to how off putting she was.
The beds were very uncomfortable and my room smelt of damp. The mugs were dirty and floor had crumbs on.
Friendly staff couldn't do enough for us. Very good food.
Parking
Excellent hotel, in a lovely little village, with fantastic staff. Ideally situated for visits to the David Austin Rose gsrden & nursery.
Nice building with nice lobby, lovely restaurant and bar area, also nice seating area out the back.
My only drawback was the room, it was small, but I’m fine with that, however, I do expect a hotel room and bathroom to be immaculately clean, with a firm mattress that doesn’t collapse in the middle.
Staff were excellent, friendly professional and helpful. Meal in restaurant great.
Pillows were flat and uncomfortable, bathroom door was frosted glass and didn’t close properly. No hooks in bathroom to hang up anything (clothes towels)
Het hotel het eten de bediening
Kleine kamer en slappe bedden
Great staff, great pub, food was very good!
The toilet was blocked when we got there, the shower didn’t have any pressure, the bed wasn’t great it sort of sunk in the middle
Beautiful hotel, clean , everything you need Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful especially Gary who checked us in and was there for breakfast, meals and drinks He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay which we did. The food we had was excellent, gorgeous thi fishcakes
It's not that we didn't like it but we were on the top floor and the stairs would not be ideal for people with poor mobility but we were fine. The room was very warm due to the weather but a fan was provided in the room and the window opens
The food was very good
The bed had seen better days!!
Great location for what we needed, friendly helpful staff, I'd spoken to Rachel the night before regarding our rooms as we had a wedding 1.30 but couldn't get in rooms until 3pm, our room cards were given prior to us leaving for wedding & we were able to change from travelling at the hotel, could not of asked for better service. Breakfast the next day was amazing, choice of cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat & juices & good choice of cooked options. The place has a great ambience.
We were happy with everything.
I loved the location-in the midst of a georgian style village, lots of beautiful buildings -the staff were just lovely and so helpful and friendly, the food was fresh, hot and tasty
My room was clean but very tired. The communal parts of the hotel were lovely though
Location
The bedroom had far too much furniture, one side of double bed had no side table or lamp. And the bed was extremely soft, bouncy and uncomfortable
Very clean and comfortable stay
Helt fantastiskt plats.
Super aardige mensen. En verrukkelijk eten. Ook de douche was heerlijk
De verlichting was schaars. En het bed was wat doorgezakt
Nice clean well appointed room in the centre of the village. Great for an overnight stop
location great
pillows awful and lack of staff

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay a very warm welcome from the manager Rachel and her team the hotel had a lovely atmosphere comfortable and clean room a very good breakfast with choice and is a great location for visiting other places around the area for example Boscobel House in Bishops Wood
there was nothing to dislike
Lovely hotel, good food and friendly staff.
It was comfortable and had great character
The location of the pub in Brewood, is great and the food was alright.
The bedroom was facing the back court yard, which meant we could hear all conversations happening and shouting from customers outside. We requested a quiet room on booking but this request wasn't met. The tiles in the shower have a hole in them at the bottom and the chimney needs re-pointing, as there are water marks on the inside of the chimney stack in the room. The decorative blankets on the bed were stained. I always wonder how often these are washed, as they aren't washed with bedding as normal. I wouldn't stay again. My husband and I were highly disappointed
Excellent and friendly hotel in perfect location in the centre of Brewood. Spotlessly clean, nice atmosphere, exceptionally comfortable bed. Good choice of food.
Narrow winding staircase with 32 steps to room! But I was warned!
It was the worst hotel stay we have had in 20 years. The room was in the loft and it was 300 degrees oven in 36 degrees July weather during heatwave. We could not sleep at all. We booked this hotel to have a nice stay after a week v we attended and then drive comfortably back home. We couldn’t sleep, it was disgustingly uncomfortable. The window could open only 2 inches and they had a fan rim 1964. The stairs were winding and extremely dangerous. The carpets stunk. I can’t believe it’s legal to run this place.
Friendly host Omar and a wonderful breakfast choice .
We had the room in the loft. it was 34 degrees summer and as heat rises It was like a furnace. One fan wasn’t enough and sash window didn’t open very much . Couldn’t sleep much with the heat. Choose a room on the first floor .
Steep staircase to the room.
Warm welcome. Good outside space, location, lovely staff
check in staff lovely. Room nice , dining area and outside seating area lovely.
Breakfast staff very grumpy. Did not say hello or acknowledge us when walked into dining room, rolled her eyes at my partner when he was in her way as he could not see her behind him. She could easily have said " sorry" to make him aware and he could have moved quicker. Slow taking breakfast order. Told me there was only the instant coffee for breakfast. A couple of minutes later she was making a coffee for another customer. I would have happily paid extra for the coffee had I been given the option. However, only having instant coffee for breakfast is very poor and this needs to be changed. i was told the dinner the night before was excellent and staff brilliant so maybe this was just a one off, but was not what we expected or needed just before attending a funeral.
Location, and decent breakfast .
Room was tired , requires upgrade. Staircase difficult to navigate.
The garden area
The stairs up to the room were quite dangerous
Breakfast was fine and served quickly. We had dinner both nights and enjoyed our meals. Dining room very pleasant and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Clearly a very popular restaurant with a nice friendly atmosphere.
All very good
Everything was superb. Location, staff, room and the breakfast was awesome. Great value. 👍
We liked everything about our stay!! We have stayed here before and returned because we loved it the first time. !!The room was lovely, clean and tidy and well equiped with nice complimentary bath and shower gells and shampoos, the tea and coffee facilities provided in the room included lovely biscuits and even mineral water. The breakfast's were amazing with a very wide choice menu, it was served quickly and the portions were very good indeed. !! The evening meals were absolutely fantastic, again with an amazing wide choice and not expensive. Every member of staff team were so friendly efficient and helpful, We couldn't fault anything . Thank you for a lovely stay
Nothing to dislike
Great breakfasts Easy check-in and check-out Friendly staff
No liquid hand soap and only a bar of soap/ no shower gel in the room. Stairs were a little uneven and my partner tripped up on some loose carpet but it’s the charm of an old building.
The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.
Nothing
Nice looking olde worlde hotel in quiet village
No lifts. No aircon, very hot on the top floor during the heatwave Restaurant understaffed for breakfast Water pressure up and down constantly during a shower
Location was good and excellent breakfast included so satisfied my requirements.
Car parking was a short distance away. Stairs a bit steep. Would not have liked a long stay but great for overnight.
Staff super friendly and accommodating, we arrived late but they kept the kitchen open for us. Nice breakfast
Super hot in the room and the bathroom Our room was overlooking the patio and people were loud early at thw breakfast.
Die zu weichen Matratzen.
Location great, hotel lovely old building with character.Staff fantastic,so friendly & helpful.Pub downstairs very nice & stylish. Breakfast was delicious with good choice of items.Room very nice & bed comfy ( if a little springy).Great that there was a fan as it was warm up in the eaves.
Cleanliness in the room was a bit slack to be honest.Mould round the bottom of shower which is a firm downside & thick dust on top of wardrobe.Carpet was also stained.& no hooks in the bathroom for towels! Also a bin would be handy near the coffee making facilities.lt didn't spoil our stay, but there is room for a little improvement in these areas.Sorry if l sound picky, but these little things all make a difference & with a little thought could really improve the overall experience.
Great location, excellent food, service and staff.
Left before breakfast, so was nice to receive some pastries to take away, the night before.
No parking. A lot of door banging ,by guests.
Clean
Beds too soft. Parking distance from hotel too far. Staff unhelpful. Not suitable for anybody with disabilities
Fantastic service and really friendly staff. We were at a wedding the day after and the lady on reception let us keep the room until midday which was a lifesaver in the heat!!
Can't fault anything!!
food was very good
nothing
Nice quaint village location Character with lovely refurbished Bar / Restaurant.
Parking was offsite. Stairway carpet needs changing
Room very comfortable , excellent evening meal and breakfast . Friendly staff. Great village location
Some of the furnishings were "tired " and doors/rails and similar not as clean as should be .
Friendly staff
Difficult stairs
Food quality good but breakfast limited to one sausage and a small portion bacon..seemed a little too resyructive
Evening meal quality very good
Lovely staff and great breakfast
No free parking unless you are lucky, just few places.
Dog friendly, great food, warm and courteous staff. Nice location. Good breakfast included. Arrived late but were served dinner.
We thought the town was called "Breewood" and discovered it's pronounced "Brood". Not the fault of The Lion Hotel, obvs.
Rooms far too hot. WiFi not great and breakfast waitress was dis interested in serving. We had to ask for coffee and for her to top up the juices at breakfast table.
Good food very good staff
Nothing
Friendly staff and close to free parking
Only instant coffee available at breakfast
Service was friendly, good breakfast as was dinner
Shower attachment was broken
Perfektni
Houpající se podlaha a příkré schody bez vytahu
Breakfast was good.
Bathroom shower tray needed a good clean.
Poorly greeted Breakfast was poor and limited
Fabulous historical coaching inn which has been beautifully renovated inside with a fascinating outside patio area. Excellent staff who made our stay so comfortable from the moment we arrived. Evening dinner and breakfast were excellently presented and served. Sleeping arrangements had everything needed with very comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Right in the centre of the village so a short walk to the free car park was the only sliggt downside but to be expected in such an ancient village. we loved every minute. Thank you to everyone conce4ned
Friendly, efficient staff and nice location
Nothing to add
It was really nice with great staff, food and an ambience of a small boutique type hotel.
The rooms are a little basic and dated. I do not mind older venues with uneven floors, but it was too warm in the room making for a restless night.
Every part of the shower was broken and we were only offered decaf tea and instant coffee, even at breakfast
clean, nice staff and very comfortable beds. easy to find and good parking
nothing
Comfortable room but noisy due to road outside. Evening meal tasty and well presented. Service in evening was attentive.
No proper coffee at breakfast. Service poor at breakfast.
A great location for a meet up with family and friends. A lovely village and tranquil setting. Other local pub (i think The Bridge) was very hospitable. The Lion Hotel staff were amazing and so friendly. Food in restaurant was fantastic and a constant lovely vibe there of people coming and going. Rooms lovely and unique. Beautiful courtyard to relax in the sun with drinks. What can we say but more than fabulous. Thank you.
Stairs to bedrooms steep and uneven and windey but that can't be changed so not a criticism just a bit of a warning to those with mobility issues.
Breakfast good . Central location
Poor wi-fi
Old but modern features
All ok
Well situated in the centre of the village.
Hopeless reading light for the person on the left side of the bed. No waste paper bin near the tea making facilities
Very good location, Great customer service and Great food
Nothing here
Great staff, food and location. Food was great too.
Bathroom was a bit small. The doors were hard to open. The room was lacking in hooks and power outlets.
