A lovely well-appointed room with all that was needed. The breakfast was brilliant - a great selection in a nice restaurant area. The hotel location is excellent with the nearby train station for Glasgow Central. We were heading to the SSE Hydro for a concert.

The over bath shower needed safety handles and a non-slip mat for an elderly person like myself. A lift would be helpful too.

Bathroom - fixed panel on side of bath for shower was very ingrained with dirt. Also, there was a smell of drain and sink gurgled

Close to the airport. Staff was friendly but some were incompetent.

We had to find someone for reception after ringing the bell for at least 10 min. Husband had to go find the girl behind the bar. We ordered breakfast for the next morning at 0700 but nothing by 0715 so we checked out. The man at the desk apologized snd you can tell he was sincere. Inside of hotel is tired and dated but clean. Food in the restaurant for dinner the night before was bad.

Hi there - we couldn’t stay because dogs were not allowed. This wasn’t made clear to us and we were unable to get a refund.

Had to wait quite some time at check in. Staff not answering ring system. Eventually went into the bar area to find a member of staff to locate reception team. This is unusual. Bottled drinking water in the hotel room would be appreciated. This used to be the case.

Beautiful elegant property and kind, helpful staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Bed was very comfortable with high quality linens. The staff brought me extra pillows when I asked. The location was perfect for us visiting friends in Neilston and it was a short distance to the train station for getting into Glasgow.

Our room, 103, was over the roof so we heard the HVAC system running all night. I would ask for a different room next time. It's not possible to turn off the light behind the bathroom mirror without pulling out the key card, which then turns off all lights and sockets for charging phones. We asked. Bad design. Very strongly scented room perfume or is very overpowering for people who are smell sensitive.

Lovely building and rooms

Noise from other room all night into morning kept awake, told reception who were very matter of fact that it was a me problem and would pass on to manager, heard nothing and not even a sorry for your inconvenience, poor customer service.

Beautiful venue, lovely rooms, super comfortable beds, incredible breakfast. There's a great Indian restaurant nearby too!

The extension in which our room was is not super soundproof so you could basically hear anyone in the hallway and they could probably hear our kids!

Took parents here for afternoon tea. Overall was good and food was nice but it lacked some sparkle in the service. The lady who sat us down was very business like, no niceties. When the afternoon tea arrived no explanation of what everything was. No offer of extra tea or coffee, we had to ask. At the end we had some items left over and asked if we could have them boxed up, we were presented with a polystyrene container and a paper bag at the table to do it ourselves. The cream with the scones was just fresh cream, clotted would have been nice. No check back and we had to stop someone to ask for the bill a while after we had clearly finished. It was nice but didn’t feel like the special occasion Afternoon Tea van in some places.

Excellent breakfast and dinner. I have visited for many years, the only shame is that the previous characterful rooms have now become very corporate- albeit comfortable. Excellent staff!

Good location, nice room, friendly restaurant staff.

The shower was over the bath. No safety grab rails to hang on to. No bath mat and the bottom of the bath was slippy.

Unser Zimmer befand sich direkt über dem Haupteingang. Da an jedem Abend Hochzeiten stattfanden, war es bis etwa zwei oder drei Uhr morgens sehr laut, sodass an erholsamen Schlaf kaum zu denken war. Am nächsten Morgen reinigte der Fensterputzer unsere Fenster, obwohl die Fensterläden geöffnet waren. Dabei spritzte er unsere offenen Koffer mit Wasser voll. Auch nachdem wir ihn darauf aufmerksam gemacht hatten, setzte er die Reinigung unverändert fort, was wir als etwas ungewöhnlich empfanden. Die Zimmer sind insgesamt schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, bieten jedoch ausreichend Platz und waren sehr sauber. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das ausgesprochen freundliche, hilfsbereite und stets zuvorkommende Personal. Ein kleiner Hinweis für künftige Gäste: Die Zimmerkarte muss stets gemeinsam mit dem Mobiltelefon aufbewahrt werden. Andernfalls deaktiviert sich die Karte und das Zimmer lässt sich nicht mehr öffnen. Uns ist das während unseres Aufenthalts viermal passiert. Glücklicherweise war jederzeit ein Mitarbeiter vor Ort, der die Karte rasch wieder aktivierte. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für schottische Verhältnisse. Schottland ist generell kein günstiges Reiseland, und wir haben auf unseren Reisen bereits in deutlich schlechteren Hotels übernachtet. Wer keine Luxusunterkunft erwartet, findet hier ein sauberes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal und ausreichend großen Zimmern.

It’s a beautiful venue with lovely facilities. The staff looked after us including reception who phoned to check whether we wanted a dinner reservation when we were late arriving, the waiter/manager in the dining room (food was excellent) and the ladies who looked after us at breakfast. We had a wonderful jacuzzi bath and the bed was really comfortable.

Best nights sleep I have had maybe ever! The bed was exceptional, the room was quiet and spacious, breakfast was absolutely top notch. I want to live here!

Beautiful setting, clean room and bathroom. Lovely helpful and friendly staff who gave us advice on where to go, and provided us with taxi numbers to get to our concert. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and great quality, and the breakfast which was included in our stay was the perfect set up before we had to head home.

De grote kamer en tv met streaming diensten. Fijne losse stoel. Genoeg ruimte voor beide koffers. voldoende stekkerdozen. Mooi ingericht. Fijne verduisterende gordijnen. Comfortabel bed.

In de Badkamer misten we iets om onze spullen op kwijt te kunnen of op te hangen.

A lovely property with lots of character and friendly attentive staff. Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and in a quiet location away from traffic. I ate in the restaurant each night of my stay and enjoyed the quality and variety of the menu choices. A cooked breakfast was included in the price of my booking adding to the great value. Train station for going into Glasgow is about 15 min walk and a bus stop for similar trips is around 5 min walk from the hotel. 20 min drive to Glasgow airport.

It is a lovely peaceful place to stay

There was nothing I didn’t like.

The building was lovely old structure with period features but then a lot of high quality modern touches.

Below my room was a function room that had a school Prom on the evening of my stay. The hotel did call me after I had booked to inform me of the event and to advise that they had no other rooms available to move me to. However, they did say the music had to finish by 11pm, which it did.

The staff were all very friendly and the whole hotel looked clean. The garden is beautiful and we wished we were able to sit outside if the weather was nicer.

Noise from the floor below (there was a prom that evening till midnight) was horrendous… and they had only told us as “slight noise till 10:30” few days prior… And they couldn’t put us anywhere else but right above the function room… They could have told us at the time of booking through messenger but they only tried to contact us by phone which we couldn’t receive because we were travelling outside the country. They could have communicated better using the messaging on the booking.com. And the basin is very small for washing your face. And only rainfall shower in the bath.

The receptionist was second to none with her local knowledge. She made us very welcome as always. Breakfast was great, cocktails were good. 10out of 10 all the way.

Location is fab for Glasgow Airports 20 mins away by car and the hotel is beautiful, fantastic service and breakfast all at a very fair price!

I had lost my bag at Edinburgh airport, the reception staff managed to locate it then very Kindly went to collect it, saving me a £150 taxi bill. I was stunned they did a 3hr round trip to collect it.

Sam, Christian and a lovely lady served breakfast which was excellent, Sat looking over a beautiful garden. The outside areas had been cleared by the time we went for breakfast ,despite a wedding going on the night before, so good work there. The room was surprisingly quiet , good shower.

The room (103) was a little small.

It was fantastic I couldn’t find a fault and the staff were so friendly and hard working.

The noise. We got barely any sleep due to a congregation of drunk people in the communal hallway outside our bedroom door in the middle of the night.

Was offered a complimentary upgrade and the room was spacious, the bed was large super king. Would have loved a wee minibar. The hotel and the room is spotlessly clean. Huge kudos to the houskeeping team!

Professional retyped hotel review I travel frequently around the UK for work, and this is the best service I have received from any hotel. The biggest credit goes to two professional ladies: Terry and Norma. The hotel is clean and extremely professional.

No handle to get in and out of the bath to have a shower I’ve had both knees replaced so was alittle precarious.
