Old Évora Hostel

🙂

Great traditional hostel. The staff were nice and it seemed to attract nice people staying there. Easy walking distance to everything in the old city and to the Rede bus station. Good kitchen facilities which were well equipped. Breakfast is very basic but I didn't mind as it kept the costs down making it an excellent value accommodation option.

Glad I had my eye mask as there was quite a lot of light pollution in the four bed dorm as it was a throughfare to another dorm. Apart from that, everything was good.

A equipa do Old Évora Hostel é excelente, muito simpáticos, agradáveis, gentil, receptivos, adoráveis! Tive uma Excelente experiência nesse Hostel ❤️

Nada!

Nada

Funcionários super educados e atenciosos, limpeza impecável, café da manhã maravilhoso, você come a vontade.

Right in the walls of the city, if you can find parking. If not, it's not that far to walk to parking outside the Walls and it's close enough to one exit so the walk is short. Nice common areas, good size kitchen and bathroom near room. They have a lending library and TV in common area.

Was out on a top bunk because I was told the other beds (8 in room) were taken. However night came and three bottom beds went unused? Not sure what the hiccup was. Everything else was fine.

Ostello simpatico, vecchio stile per fortuna, accogliente e affettuoso. Staff ottimo, posizione eccellente.

🙂

Kitchen access was good and value for money for the location and breakfast. Staff was nice and helful!

I chose 4 bed dorm, first i was put in 6 bed dorm and then i was put in a dorm which had entrance to the another 6 bed dorm, so basically even less privacy for the 4 bed dorm than 6 bed. there were some stairs inside the room, which led to haunted window, which was unattended and open and nobody cared about it. Also , if female traveller is in trouble nobody is there to bother about it.

The.hostel is nice (nice living room and garden), the girl from reception was nice, the location is great, and breakfast is ok (bread, Nutella, jam, cheese, jam, yogurt, milk and juices, there was no fruit).

I think it was expensive for what it was. The wifi just work in the living room, the beds were ok, but no curtains nor individual lights, you don't have were to hang your clothes in the shower (this could be fixed by little money)

Locatiom, staff, dorm by gender, late checkin

Rooms are cold, no coffee machine, poor breakfast options, flooded shower

-The location is great, in the center but close to a hypermarket and regional bus station. -The kitchen is well-equipped. -The checkout time is luxurious (12.00) and the fact that you can still make use of the shared kitchen and living room is splendid, especially when waiting for transport or leaving your heavy luggage to pick up later. -Free coffee and tea are a small luxury that increases the comfort of your stay tremendously.

-Just a minor thing: I was staying in a women's bedroom that was connected to another one. During the night people could wake you up by going to the bathroom and so on. -At my common bathroom there was only one shower that worked. I was lucky to be there during off-season but I can imagine that during the high season it might prove a bit frustrating to be having to queue for one shower.

Nada a dizer.

Super acolhedor

Totally central. Lovely place.Hot showers and WiFi. Good breakfast included.Nice old Evora house . Big kitchen with amenities. Relaxing lounge. Ashtray- smelling Court yard for smokers .

Needs a close line to dry towels and small simple things. Dorm is dark even at daytime. No outside facing windows in some dorms.. Semi permanent students stay in dorms,so tourists might have to adjust to student early morning routine.

🙂

The hostel is super friendly. They ask guests their arrival time as the reception is open between 2-7pm, unfortunaetly I would arrive really early at 7am in the morning and the reception girl Carla just asked me for my check-in document and left the key on her desk. When I got there, I saw my key and thought I could put my bag in my room if my bed wasn't taken, but the room was just empty so I just had a shower and had a nap even. It was just wonderful that they trust people and are so sweet to us.

the shower room was really small but very clean, and I don't think they have hair dry so it could be a bit trouble if you are a long hair woman and not accustomed to naturally drying your hair

Receptionist was super nice and helpful.

Bathroom stall had no lock and the floor seemed to flood when someone took a shower, no hand soap. To say my room smelt bad would be a huge understatement. I stayed in the 8bed dorm and it wreaked of old wet dirty cloths. Way beyond Something there couldn't go unnoticed by staff. Would have gone to reception to ask to move rooms but by the time I settled in reception was already gone/closed. I have stayed in a lot of hostels and this was the worst smelling one by far.

,🙂

Location is good.

1. On my first day, I informed the cleaning lady that my neck was uncomfortable and I required two pillows. She smiled and agreed without comment. Yet on my final day, I was charged €19 for the pillows upon checkout – utterly outrageous. Why wasn't this disclosed on arrival? 2. They accused me of swapping blankets, claiming I used someone else's winter duvet while they gave me a summer quilt. In the winter, they wouldn't turn on the heating and even confiscated the remote control. Freezing to death, couldn't I at least grab an extra blanket? 3. During my seven-night stay, my bed was never once cleaned. I was in a six-bed dorm where cleaning only occurred when new guests arrived. 4. On the morning of my second day, staff barged into my room without knocking, violating my privacy. 5. The female six-bed dorm adjoins a four-bed room, allowing clear audibility of snoring from next door – severely disrupting sleep. Moreover, this room's lighting is dimly lit, unlike the bright white lighting in other rooms. 6. The shower stall door has a gap, allowing water to leak out after showering. They actually expect customers to clean up the water stains themselves. The worst hostel I've ever stayed in.

Struttura accogliente e semplice

There was a guitar to use, a massive boon for travelling musicians!

Limpio y organizado Muy amable la recepcionista

Beautiful area free breakfast and even some free food!:) friendly staff pretty safe environment

A bit loud and had men accidentally in the all girls room, also no door or lock to the actual room? So little privacy from people outside of your room

the staff really tries extra hard to keep things in perfect order, especially given all the randomness that the guest bring about. Carla is really dedicated to customer success!

it is a bit cramped, but hey, it is a hostel

great stay! i was welcomed so nicely and the personal made it clear to feel like home from day one! the atmosphare was great, little talks with the international/national guests were a nice touch and so on.. i also loved being able to use all common rooms (even the kitchen!) all by myself

it did feel a bit full of strangers which naturally lead to a bit uncleanliness (which is also hugely impacted and depending by the other guests..) but this shouldnt be the problem on the grand scheme of things

Great hostel in an old building, with a nice inside courtyard. It's in a great location, an easy walk to the main square.

The location is great, close to the center. It's housed in a beautiful building. And the staff is very nice.

bed in 4 bed dorm. The hostel was lovely and charming. Lovely kitchen, patio and nice lady at reception. The room clean and bright. Only 1 small issue - arrived via bus and it was about a 20-25 min walk w bag to the hostel. BUT with google was able to locate it . It's pretty central , with most places within walking distance

Tout va bien, merci.
