A wonderful hotel set in beautiful grounds
The atmosphere was clean, decorative, friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. We had the privilege of a watress who's first name was Rose, who was very helpful with the choices of our breakfast, and the breakfast was scrumptious.
There was nothing to dislike.
Piękny zadbany teren, klimatyczne wnętrza, opiekuńczy personel-podziękowania dla pani concierge za pomoc w zorganizowaniu wycieczki do winnicy Uważna ,przyjazna obsługa basenu Miejsce godne polecenia
Beautiful setting, well maintained. Room was great. The free shuttle to Middleburg was a real plus. Really enjoyed all the activities.
Had to wait way too long (over an hour) and we’re only told it would be “soon”. They lost our lunch order at the pool.
Everything - Serenity and luxury
Nothing
Very Friendly and Professional Staff Spacious and Clean room and balcony Easy access to all amenities Lexus chauffeur (w/in 5 miles) to tour Middleburg Goof Food
Nothing. My bride and I loved everything.
Parfait. Mais vraiment incompréhensible de ne pas pouvoir déjeuner avec son chien à la brasserie alors que c’est autorisé partout. Donc on a mangé dans un salon , dans des boîtes en carton sur une table basse le jour de Noël.
The property is at a close proximity to the downtown area. We were able to walk everywhere. Our room was spacious and immaculate.
Lovely restful 2 days Unable to book massage and facial they are fully booked. I was told they are booked months in advance.
Property in mint condition
I loved everything about this property.
I enjoyed every minute
The Salamander is exquisite—luxurious and sophisticated. Its style and design are flawless, and the entire experience is top tier. You truly can’t go wrong with a stay at this beautiful resort; it’s the perfect getaway for any occasion.
Just very chilly in the hotel!
Fabulous service, great food, great rooms, and one of my all time favorite bars!
We were most impressed about the outstanding friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Felt like in a Japanese Ryokan where the guest is king. One hick-up with the restaurant at the first night, which was charmingly fixed by the management.
This was the best hotel experience we have ever had. Staff went out of their way to be accommodating without you even having to ask for help. We visited for the first time to celebrate our mini moon a free our wedding and they gave us a free room upgrade to a suite. They also surprised us with a complementary bottle of champagne to our room and they even had complementary transportation available within a 5 mile radius of the resort. The estate is extremely beautiful and it’s even better that this is Black Owned. Highly recommend and worth every penny.
5 star
Everything about this experience was diamond status!
Hotel is great, staff always welcome you. The kitchen service of restaurant Harrimans need to improve, despite of that, the servers of restaurant are really good.
Always beautifully clean and luxurious! We wished that we had received the VIP benefit.
Overall, I LOVED the property, the friendliness of the staff, amenities (gym, dining options, fire pits, etc.) With that being said, I did noticed the shower door in our room was not cleaned properly and neither was the countertop in the bathroom. I also noticed water leaking around the base of the sink faucets. I only bring this up because at the prices you pay to stay at the Salamander, I expect everything to be exceptional. ALL in ALL those were minor, seeing that my germophobic ways will not allow me to travel without taking or purchasing cleaning products locally. So I was able to clean the shower door and counter myself, which I would have done even if I didn't notice they had not been cleaned properly. I would definitely go back.
Perfect
Great quick getaway! Wonderful spa and overall amazing experience!
Exceeded our expectations! We will definitely return again next year! The Salamander made my 60th birthday very personalized and special!
Across the board the best staff I’ve encountered in a very long time.
Before my visit, I was confirmed to have an upgraded room on the top floor. However, upon arrival, there was no record of this in the system, and I was instead placed on the second floor. Additionally, I was assured that my credit card for incidental charges would not be used for the room payment, as they would charge the card I used to book the room. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Despite these issues, everything else about my stay was great.
Salamander is living up to its reputation for being elegant and upscale. But it's the staff, the food, and the overall excellent working conditions of everything that make this a wonderful place to stay.
Enjoyed our time very much. Lovely decor, cozy fires, welcoming staff in a beautiful little town.
Wonderful staff
Beautifully decorated! Very spacious and serene.
Highly recommend this resort
It was very lovely and decorated for Christmas. The bed was very comfortable and the views were beautiful.
Truly a great family- friendly experience. A great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day living. Quaint and eclectic town for a relaxing weekend or event. A
I enjoyed the atmosphere and holiday decorations, as well as the curated holiday menu offered at Harriman's Grill with my family. I am a returning guest and routinely use the exceptional spa services. I will treat my parents to a stay at Salamander Middleburg in February for their 57th wedding anniversary.
Unfortunately the bathroom door handle had been stripped and fell off the door. It was reported to the staff, and they made a note of it. I suspect it was repaired/replaced after we checkd out. That was the second time something like that happened during one of my stays. Preciously, a coat hook detached from the back of the door in the bathroom at Harriman's. I reported it at the hostess desk.
Loved our stay. Would have liked to receive the VIP gift we should have.
Dog and overnight parking fees are outrageous
Service, room
Great ambience and a perfect place for the Holidays!
Salamander Resort is always a winner - elegant, luxurious, romantic, picturesque, and incredibly special!
Fantastic property and top tier customer service. Everything was 5 star from the accommodations to the exquisite cuisine and wine
Lovely, pretty and toney hotel with a spacious comfortable room. Service is friendly and very efficient. Nice expansive grounds. But dining options in this large hotel are limited and there is that annoying resort fee tacked on the daily bill. Dining options in town are also not very expansive.
Spacious rooms lots.of green space
Room and beds were somewhat smaller, and shower and closet were smaller than in the past 12 years I've stayed there. Appeared to be a handicap access room. Called the front desk and a larger room with larger beds was not available.
Beautiful resort and grounds. Delicious breakfast. Fun zip-lining. Everything was perfect!
Enjoyed
The Salamander is incredible in every way! The staff was beyond excellent in planning my girlfriend’s birthday weekend. They went above and beyond in making the weekend unforgettable. 5 stars doesn’t do them justice. I HIGHLY recommend the Salamander!
Very nice property but I was expecting more of an experience for the price. I only stayed one night and perhaps didn’t see what there was to offer but it wasn’t clear to what was offered. I had a burger and a glass of wine for $70…
The peace and tranquility and professionalism and high customer service of staff.
Beautiful architecture and design, well-appointed. Enjoyed our stay but things were very overpriced (60-minute couple’s massage was $590 with mandatory service fee/tip; $6 per 8 ounce pour of Diet Coke at the spa pool), and some things could use updating (missing tiles on jacuzzi in women’s spa).
Everything! Gifted my daughter. and son-in-law with a sleepover and dinner at Harriman’s to kick-off het 38th birthday weekend celebration. The Salamander Resort and Spa was one of her “To-do’s” on her wish list. So I was happy to hear that her experience there did not disappoint.

The property is amazing and the staff is very accommodating. The Spa is divine luxury
There are no problems with this property. You get what you pay for
Clean
Over priced, service not so good, lack of communication about car transportation to airport, I almost have to pay 1000 USD for 2 cars, 1 rude employee at restaurant 😭😭😭
The property is beautiful. The spa was a great experience. The pool was heated. The service was excellent.
This is a beautiful resort. The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff was friendly. Loved that you could have a car take you and pick you up to other venues in the Middleburg area.
Everything about the property love the spa.
Our entire experience was memorable and great! We were treated great by everyone.
Pretty resort with nice spa. Extremely crowded on the holiday weekend which made for crowded pools, spa and restaurants. If you didn’t have reservations at the spa, you could only go to the family pool packed with kids.
The staff was very friendly and the place was very nice and clean
Our family stayed at the resort along with another family with a tween and teens. We enjoyed the indoor saltwater pool as well as the archery lesson. The complimentary shuttle was very convenient. We took advantage of the service for dinner at the Goodstone Inn, about a 10 minute drive away. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. The only reason I gave a 4 was that the wait for the Gold Cup was long and it would’ve been nice to have another dinner choice besides Harriman’s.
Excellent on all levels!
Everything was first class and reasonable
Top Notch State of the Art
Bed was a little uncomfortable, but everything else made up for it 100%
No
You walk in and just enjoy the grandeur. The staff is relaxed and kind and it spills into the lodging. It’s expansive but close and it’s just a stunning place to behold.
I like everything except, i wish they had a microwave
The buffett was very good and the location and view was great.
The only issue with breakfast was that if you didn't choose the buffett you couldn't sit in the dining room.
Overall, our experience at the resort was good but not great. Our favorite part of our stay was the spa, complimentary car service to and from some wineries, as well as the town of Middleburg. I also enjoyed playing scrabble in the library.
Beautiful property . Stunning views. beautiful Lounge
Nothing not to like
Excellent as always
Very comfortable and quiet retreat. Good service. Beautiful property. Very expensive
Everything was amazing. My wife enjoyed the spa and I enjoyed fishing with my son.
It's very expensive.
The property is just so expensive to first book and stay at and then there is almost nothing included in the putreagous price
Five star almost all the time, they do a big public event on July 4 and it’s way too crowded and crazy, otherwise amazing. (45 minute wait to seat two at the bar, then an hour wait for pizza and a salad)
We enjoyed getting our “steps” on the trails then having a nice dinner with the window seating
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The dining experience was truly awesome.
